This has been on our to-do list for a long time, and as we were nearby this morning MrT headed to GZ. Found after a search around. Log book is wet, looks like the container has been wet for a while. MrT managed to sign it, but it needs replacing. TFTC
Bush bashing alert!!
I am a bit of a princess and was going to throw the towel in as it had not been logged as found since March 2020. Chippymick64 was calling me a big girls blouse which raised my hackles and made me plough on. Bush bashing ensued and....found!! TFTC.....I think!!

Found after a short search. Shame about the graffiti and rubbish lying around this interesting site.
Tftc - spent around 30 min looking for this one. Coming from below the station I was surprised to find this structure tucked away. Circled the pit with no luck and finally realised it was down I had to go. 30 min later, duties performed and wondering how to get out.
Found on the Grumpy Old Men scavenge tour today. We enjoyed this immensely, so I'm told by my less-grumpy accomplice. Thanks Mr and Mrs Packo,
Out with frazeydaze for a mornings caching around Woodford. After a false start from the GWH we found our way to the Linden commuter car park where we parked up and walked across the railway line towards GZ . The phones were sending us in all directions and we searched for about 30mins and were about to give up when frazeydaze called that she had found the cache. I was so pleased as it was a bit scary searching around that big concrete basin. TFTC.
Oldmorty and I attempted this cache from the Great Western Highway but couldn't get near it. We then drove round to the Linden Station commuter car park and crossed the rail lines to the other side. That's better. After a short bush walk we found ourselves looking over a huge open, empty tank. Walking around the edge of the tank was probably not a good idea but I thought its was better that walking through the bush. I couldn't find anything this way so back into the bush. Oldmorty and I searched everywhere. After a good half hour I sat down and read through some logs where I got a clue. It still took a while to find what I was looking for, but there it was. The cache fits in so well with the surrounding rubbish and empty spray cans. TFTC Mr and Mrs Packo
On our way home from caching up the mountains, grabbing caches as we go. With this one we parked 100 mts away and walked up. Cache located with good co-ods, retrieving it I got spiked by the plant, wouldn't want to fall down into the pit. all good. Duties done and placed as found. TFTC
Couldn't find it. Climbed into & out of drain. Looked for over 30 mins, no clue where it could be. Hint wasn't helpful at all.
Parked on the upside of the highway and walked back to the lights to cross to the right side. A few puzzled drivers wondering why the lights changed when they would not do so very often, but safest way to cross.
Once across the road it was a short walk to GZ where the cache was located quickly. Retrieved, log signed and cache replaced as found.
A short pause and wonder about what the drain was or may have been before heading back to the car.

Big thanx to JustR for a photo of the location to be for this one. I don't think I would have found it otherwise. Phlphotos was not impressed with himself for missing it last weekend. We were all over it! The insides are wet, as there is a part of the container thread missing, which I think lets water in. TFTC by the way. I this this was my eighth visit...got stung by a spitfire on the way in. Aah, childhood memories!
#603 found with alnic39 he had contacted previous finder and go some intel on what we were looking for after stumbling around the previous week but we were running out of time on that occasion. This time it was a quick find I also got zapped by the spitfire on the small gum as we walked in. Thanks for the cache. Signed the log and replaced after drying it out a bit
Have known about this feature for over 30 years, but that didn't help in finding the cache. Whilst it turned out the co-ordinates were spot on, I just couldn't find the hide. I widened the search area then came back to GZ, then did it all over again. After more than half an hour of looking I was ready to log a DNF when as a last ditch attempt I thought I'll just give this spot a check..... it couldn't possibly be there..... but it was (of course!) Caching duties done it was time to get out of the rain.

Good coords, interesting area, glad i didnt have to go down there. Just about to put my hand on cache and a passing train blaired its horn and i very nearly shat myself. Tftc
Our last cache for the day, as whitemushroom was keen to find one that even he hadn't grabbed yet. We *may* have crossed some CityRail territory for a few seconds - it soon became apparent that we were supposed to have come from the other side. Regardless, we marched up the hill to see something amazing - "since when was this here?". 5 minutes of searching later and iker made the find. TFTC.
On a mid-mountains guided cache seek with yttam and Iker1995, this one has had the 'fungus intrigued for some time passing as one does along the highway. Finally, with some onscreen searching, the location was sorted and a pull over was made on the down hill return run. Still unsure, it was a tentative breach of the fence, a walk to pass by the gate and a further scrubby walk to ... oh, my, goodness! Now that is a structure one does not see, let alone expect, hidden in that small island betwixt railway and highway. A quick find by Iker soon had the log signed. TFTC
Not expecting the structure the visit was without camera in hand ... good for another visit, methinks.

My 1100 find, nice little walk, then the tightrope walk, after a little while Wazza9 located the container. After attending the Autumn event needed to get a couple of caches on the way down the mountain. TFTC

Having the offer of a lift south (west) meant I was able to get a few caches I normally wouldn't be able to get to. While Cookie was drying out the cache a bit I went back to the car to get a 'disposable tea towel' that will hopefully absorb any more moisture that may get in.

1730 GAFF1 Liking a bit of rock under my foot this was a nice one to get to. Good coordinates, but the cache was a bit exposed - would have been easy to be seen by the local 'artists'. It was a bit wet inside, so used my shirt to dry it out.
Left a Correct Site Marker - surgical marking pen.

My eighth find while out for the day with Mel_Adz
After finding View3-60 Linden Cliffs, we returned to the carpark and decided to give this one a go. Venturing alongside the highway, we soon decided to turn back and find an alternate route.
Found the Draino fairly quickly, and followed the GPS to the GZ. Nearly fell into the Draino when I tripped on some exposed reinforcement. After regaining my balance the cache was found fairly quickly.
As we were completing the log singing duties a coal train passed leaving a deafening ring in our ears.

Set out early this morning with Jfindit to attempt a few caches in a different area than one we are familiar with this being the lower blue mountains area, this is a great spot with many challenging cache types as well as terrain and difficulty ratings, we had a great day and would recommend the area to anyone who is prepared to test themselves in all environments. tftc
xPhenoms and I ventured south this morning 4:30am “grumble grumble” in the trusty Mitsubishi Geowagon down the thin black line to Penrith and then onwards to the Blue Mountains ie Glenbrook, Blaxland, Springwood. Second day two of a two day trip. What a fantastic place. Great cache. TFTC
Have passed by this cache many times, but tales of getting stuck in a pit of angry snakes put me off. While driving back down the Blue Mtns with Webby, he mentioned that the cache was in a slightly different location and that I should still check out the tank. I was quite impressed with the tank, but the cache is broken and damp (and not in a great hiding spot). There was also a sleeping bag nearby that seemed to be quite heavy. Hope there was no one inside it.
After a short futile search for draino at ground zero we suddenly noticed a few toys and a container scattered down in the drain. A short distance away and there was the logbook. Unfortunately it looks like this one has been muggled. Geohubby jumped into the drain and gathered it all up and we have rehidden the cache at ground zero. Contents are all a bit damp.
I found a simple point of access that was both legal and close. Was soon at the 'drain'. Quite a structure, and nicely adorned. The cache was a quick find too. Fascinating spot - a bit of a theme for this CO. TNLN SL. I decided upon a more direct (but still legal) route to return to my car and this quickly turned into a very precarious adventure. I persisted and, despite almost ripping one arm out of its socket, made it back to said vehicle. Thanks Packos.
TFTC and thank you for the great location. Caches like this make it a worthwhile activity.

Have revisit cache today and all is where it should be, intact and dry. Checked coords and have updated to make a 4m change. I hope this helps as this isnt a hard cache to find, but I suppose it isn't the normal sort of hiding spot that is quite often used in the Blue Mountains.

After numinous attempts for this cache, I had some hard evidence from some previous finders who kindly helped me out to narrow me down to the cache hide. But even with all the help I had, it still took a little while to finally locate the cache. Quite difficult in this area for good GPS coverage and so many hiding places around the area. Anyway, Finally get to log a find!! TFTC.
Third time's the charm!
After all the trouble I had previously I just had to try again since the cache was in place undisturbed. However I spent 30 minutes at GZ and nothing to be found.
So I started enlarging the search radius and about 8 metres away from GZ I spotted a flash of colour and almost ignored it as I had already found several empty spray cans. Lucky for me I picked it up and lo and behold there it is.
The problem I had and most likely Hoogies is that the published coords put you exactly at the perfect spot where you would expect a cache to be, this is not so, so future cachers ignore the fallen tree and stump, nothing to find there!
I include the coords that my GPSr on the day gave as GZ for the cache.
Thanks for the merry chase!

Went and checked on Draino today. All OK. Cache in good condition in its correct location. Left as found.
2nd attempt, Still nothing. I'll have to contact the CO for a hint or maybe a cache check up
I will check on this cache over the next couple of days. Will let you know how I go.
I'm the same as Rogerw3. Spent a good while hear not to find anything. There were a few possible hiding spots but turned up with nothing. I'll try again sometime.
Well I thought to remedy my much earlier DNF since the cache has been moved. Unfortunately no such luck, after spending 20 minutes at GZ I had to leave and get on with my life. Ah well you can't find them all! I will be just as happy with it on my ignore list.
I'm about 6 months behind in logging my finds, so mum is making me catch up today. Sorry for how late this found log is. TFTC
Saw that this one had been re-enabled, so took a break from housework this afternoon to look for it & clear a DNF off my list.
Today it was an easy find. Just as well we didn't have to go in anymore, cause the water level is still very high.
I still don't think we are meant to be in this area, it's a bit dodgy finding your way around the edge of the fence past the gate with the sign warning against unauthorised access.
Thanks Mr & Mrs Packo, an interesting spot.

This cache IS NOT within the confines of the railway corridor, and you DO NOT have to trespass via the signed gate to get to the cache location. If you find the gate with a sign that says DO NOT ENTER, do what it says. There are other ways to the cache than the obvious one. Think smart!
With all the wet weather this location had to be moved just a few metres. New cache container in a new location should make it a little easier for people that don't want to do it too hard.

Disabled due to excess water. Cache will be moved to a more suitable drier location soon.
Stopped for this one on my way home with bikerbuddy, but couldn't find it today. Is it still there or has it finally washed away in the rain?
Didn't feel comfortable staying too long to look, as this is obviously on railway land rather close to the tracks.

Very interesting site and cache was found after some effort. However cache really needs to be replaced. Log and contents in poor condition. TFTC
Sadly we were unable to find this one today but an interesting spot never the less.
Parked in the bus zone whilst the kids went for this one...
They also found the cache in trouble with water filing the drain
But very cool hiding spot and bowl

This one was in poor shape when I logged it many months ago.
Now it seems to be in bad trouble.
Maintenance needed!
It's a great hiding place, so it would be a shame to lose this one.

ok we found this one but as whatever it is was under 2 feet of water we didnt venture into the abyss, as return could prove dangerous, i'd only attemt this one on days follwing very hot weather and with some sort of safety equipment, not for the elderly or infimed
Parked the car nearby and while chatting before getting out had another car pull up with us. We first thought fellow geocachers was a possibility as there is few reasons to stop otherwise, until a young lady jumped out of the back seat to empty the contents of her stomach on the gravel.... Ah the memories of family road trips streaked with the smell of vomit...
Anyway, walked to the train station then to GZ from there, which was easy enough. Once there was very glad that there was the two of us as it appeared that some assistance may be needed in the return trip. I took the dive while the other half stayed above ground.
I must say though, like all high places, its not as high as it looks once your at the bottom, and I realised with great confidence that escaping this cache would be no more difficult then jumping onto bunk beds.
Signed log but made no trades due to the condition of the cache.
Log was quite damp and everything inside was either rusted or caked with rust. The cache container is cracked as well as the lid so will certainly need to be replaced to prolong its live span
All in all an enjoyable cache that was a bit more than expected of a roadside grab

"Draino" was my 27th for the day and probably the most fun and frustrating and satisfying. All three emotions. Couldn't believe it when I arrived at the rim and after completing several orbits it was time to jump in with both feet. Do you sometimes think that when your caching that your going around in circles. well thats how I felt. Finally on the verge of giving up I though no they wouldn't and there she was. Fantastic. Thanks for the adventure

Quick find this morning on the way to the Autumn Event at Wentworth Falls Lake.

Container is still well-hidden, but has water in it and the various items cached there are soggy and unappealing, to say the least! Log is OK due to the plastic bag. I think this one needs some TLC immediately. After my adventure in physically reaching GZ, I wasn't keen to go back to the car, and then back to GZ, etc., to try to dry it and clean it up. Mr. and Mrs. Packo may well feel the same way, and I don't blame them! However, a fit young rock-climber might do a good deed here and return this cache to a better condition.
This one was indeed an adventure. 'Draino' is one of the more unusual cache locations you'll find, and will reward those who like physical and was as intellectual challenges!
Once you push around the black fence (feeling that you may be entering an illegal area), climb a bit and reach what is obviously GZ, you ask yourself a serious question -- and the clue from Mr. and Mrs. Packo answers that question. The question is even more difficult when you're alone, as I was this afternoon. I'm a fit and fairly athletic 61 year old and decided to take the chance!
Anyhow, I'm back here at the computer to tell the tale . . . Watch the kids around this one and bring a helper or friend, just to be sure. I forgot to check on mobile phone reception at the spot, but assume that you can dial 000 and give them your exact coordinates if all else fails. (Just don't show the rescue crew GZ when they arrive. You'll have to think up a good story to explain your whereabouts.)
I've left a separate note that this cache needs a good drying out and cleaning up. It's quite wet and disgusting inside, although the plastic bag has saved the log book and made it writable. But the insides are not what you hope to find when you uncover a cache. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Packo for an interesting afternoon adventure that convinced me there's some life in the old guy yet . . .

DNF. Arrived 5 meters from GZ but as I was by myself, was not inclined to take the jump, may not have been able to extract myself, for the walls looked too high.

After much bashing through the blackberries we remembered the name of the cache & Mr Truja found it shortly after. Container still in good nick but certainly not waterproof! Don't forget to bring a pen for this one. Excellent hidey spot. Tftc
Wow...been there nearly 4 years and the graffiti artists haven't displaced it. Luckily I only read rogerw3's log now or maybe I would not have found the cache....the metal structure around the other side came in useful...Jumbuck doesn;t carry any of my namesake in her car...certainly an interesting feature that few would know about....
No snakes here today, just a quick jump down, and after some poking around the cache was revealed.
It looks like this used to be a tank for suppling water to steam trains in bygone days.
It really needs some TLC, thanks for the find.

This was an interesting place, bit scummy but definitely interesting, Both of us climbed down into the hole and had a look around, didn't really want to touch anything and as much as i love blackberries decided not to try any of the ones living here. Tom found the cache and it was rather gross, wet, mouldy and rusty. TNLNSL. I think this cache needs upgrading.

STOMA found this cache!
I did not find it, but I did not get down into the snake pit!
It seems that what used to be the drain is now blocked up and even though most of the reservoir was dry there is a bit of a swamp developing around the drain. I spotted 2 brown snakes in there, they do like wet conditions, also spotted a whip snake at least this one is not venomous! Beside i did not feel confident that I could haul myself out of there without a rope or better a helping hand from a friend at the top.
Looking in from the edge all there seem to be is rusted paint tins and spray cans.
Perhaps a check is in order but beware of the snakes!

This is not what was expected for this cache. And dad was the only one that went into the volcano-shaped pit because we may not get out without a ladder or rope.
As noted in my log, this cache is in extremely poor condition. I've attached a photo so you can see what I mean. Also, is there a legal way to access this cache? I was concerned while I was there.
Had only a short time this afternoon to do acache so we chose this one, being one of the closest unattempted caches to home. Drove up the highway, turned around at Bulls Camp and then headed back to Linden. Pulled in off the side of the road.
First thing that surprised me was that there was a locked gate because this was in a railway corridor. There's a sign saying No Unauthorised Entry. I'm not sure whether it's a different story if you approach from the opposite direction and I hadn't noted any other comments by other caches about this, so we slipped around the side of the fence, hoping we'd soon be out of forbidden territory. Not quite sure if we were legal or not by the time we got to the appointed location.
Naturally I left geokids and wife up top while I did the daring deed. I searched about for a bit, thinking I was looking for an ammo tin, but then found another quite different container half hanging out of a paint container with the cache name written on it. The container was half full of rusty water. I tipped it out. Everything was rusty brown inside. Surprisingly, the ziplock bag has done well and I could actually sign the log with what was left of the pen after it fell apart sogily in my hand.
Lot of grafitti and spray cans about. I was certain this one was muggled just prior to finding it. I replaced the cache in the same spot I found it with the paint tin over it, fully covering it.
