Problems lately and its not there now.
Will make space for a new cache nearby and of a more traditional size too

There seems to be some fairly major construction work in the area. I had to climb a "keep out" barrier to get down to the water. One of the trees could not be reached without encroaching on the works and looked a bit chancy with the river right there so I didn't try that one. No luck with the other trees. Has this work in progress messed this one up??
Or is it possible I was on the wrong side of that drain?
Thank you, David

Too tricky for us today. Well hidden indeed. Will have another look another time.

I was alerted this am to the fact this cache may not be there.
I checked and believe it or not it is still there.
The workers have been busy however-pruning trees, and now there is orange plastic mesh and wooden stakes to stop people driving down to the river.
But the cache is still there and very well hidden

After visiting Fieldays I had a DNF at Temple view and then I was further disappointed to have to log a DNF here.
As we drew up I found 4 vans and 8 or so workmen milling about just above GZ. I boldly walked up and asked if I could pass through to photograph the river and they said OK.
After initially taking a couple of photos and wandering about a bit the I managed to carry out what I felt was a reasonably intensive search.
The indicated GZ was in the middle of an open and barren area so I checked likely hiding spots both left and right. t was a bit furtive as the workmen were moving about a bit though mostly out of sight. There had been a lot of tree cutting and earth moving in the area so I was half convinced the cache would be missing.
P.S. After contacting psychrn, he has confirmed that the cache is in place and OK.
Gosh darn it! Don't you hate it when that happens?

This one was also close to home, so went to go find this one... dad was with me... very lucky the cache is still there as there has been some work done extreamly close to the cahce site.
Well we found the river, new intake/outlet pipes, bulldozers and back hoes, oh yes and fresh tree stumps! I think your tree is now fire wood.
Found but approached from wrong direction to begin with. Thought we were out in the Bayou and looked for the crocodiles on the banks.
Quick find on a hot day.
Thanks.

Thanks.
Quick find this time, last time here was with Zork V and had to stop because of heavy rain
it took two searches to find this, good hide! Removed Lizard and coin and replaced a bird and fish.
GPS was pointing in the wrong direction! Once we figured this out it was a nice easy find. Thanks
0Paco0, Red and the dogs found it.
First one for today, on our way back to Palmerston North.
First swim of many for the dogs today as well - they LOVE geocaching because we always make sure we stop at all the rivers we get close to.
Result: permanently damp backseat in our Rav! Gotta love them doawgs!
AND SUMMER IS HERE AT LAST!
TFTC Happy new year.

Another enjoyable micro down by the river. Not up in the tree anymore. Had a bit of an adventure though as I'd parked tha rental someway down the road in a rest area. Some young punk approached my car on a motor scooter and was looking very keenly at the contents of the car. As he stooped to pick up what I presume was a rock to smash the window I commenced to charge at him screaming. Thankfully he dropped the object and rode off smiling at me and weaving across the road. (Asshole). I felt like getting in the car and knocking him off his bike but sensibility got the better of me. + fish.
The hardest part to this cache was finding the right approach to ground zero, as I hadn't spotted the park/rest area on my way past. When I finally got to GZ, I found the cache fairly quickly. Thanks.
Checked today and yes it had gone.
Suspect it must have rolled off and gone into river
Replaced with another container the same

Had a bit of a disappointing weekend. Only found 2 out of the 4 caches that i went looking for.
Thats 2 to psychrn 0 to Geo-Goober
GPS led me to the middle of the grassy / onion weed area. Many a possibility - "in the tree" but no luck i'm afraid. Stopped looking after half an hour

Passing by on motorbike with Xenacommander. Good idea for a cache container.

Out hunting with commanderlings... stopped here on way back to their home..
This wasn't on my PDA list so had to rely on dead reckoning without hints..!!! the GPSr took us all over the place but in the end honed in..
The cache was very exposed and looked like it had been awash with water..
Only because it was wedged in place was it still there...
Signed log and replaced as best we could.. covering a little from obvious view...

Wet muddy day. Cache exposed, could see it from a distance so have covered it up. River well on its way up after all the rain.
Checked this this afternoon.
Although the river is quite high you can still access.
The cache is still in its right place

Found it this morning, a quick detour as we left town, heading towards Auckland for Geocooley's birthday. A nice quiet spot, but lots of empty cars in the carpark. Perhaps this is a popular spot for dog walking??
Stopped by on the way to work on a frosty morning. GZ put me in the middle of a grassy area with a few possible options. Had a bit of a look but really wasn't dressed for it.
Over to you Boges, Squeekybobo, BF Lady or RN

Had another go at lunchtime. Glorious blue windless day so the frost had melted and the grass was pretty well dry. I was making this much harder than it needed to be during my previous visit. Thanks Psychrn
