Found myself in this area with Fangsoki, wanting to give this one a go - so we drove over to it, and took a good gander at th WP1 information. uh-oh ... them numbers don't add up . It would appear my grade 2 mathematics was right, we have a problem Houston. Couldn't make a sensible guess at what it should have been, but we went bush in the general NW direction (having subtracted random digits from S and E) and found plenty og options that might meet the hint and past logs. But sadly no container for us this time. Have sent details to CO of what we found and hopefully it can be updated for the next people to enjoy.
That said, it was a lovely little spot. I passed through here with my then fiancee as part of a drive from Canberra where we had met and then lived to Bundaberg her home town so I could meet the family and celebrate our future nuptials .... nearly 25 years ago. The place looks much the same, and I reckon the same caravan was still there. No tumbleweeds were spotted drifting down the main street .... but I wasn't watching the whole time.

We decided to head off for a couple of days in the caravan and do some caching while heading to Eidsvold and Wuruma Dam. In Eidsvold we paid $10 and stayed at the RM Williams training centre. It proved to be a convenient and quiet base for us to do many of the caches. The trails around Eidsvold provided a good look around this nice town. We enjoyed finding this cache. Thanks to WitchPig for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the location.
First visit was to collect info.
Seems I wrote some numbers down wrong.
Checked with a past finder.
Back today and found the final container.
Signed the log and returned.

Heading home from visiting family in Bundaberg for the school holidays, we decided to find a few caches along the way. As we had the boat on the back of the car, we had to limit which ones we were able to park next to safely.
Read up on this one last night and had draft handwritten notes ready to go.
After fuelling up the car at the nearby service station, we drove over the road and pulled up close to WP1 and found the required numbers.
Sat on the grass under the shady trees to work out the maths while the kids enjoyed jumping and climbing over the large rocks.
Found the answer, set the coordinates into the GPSr and away we went. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll to GZ, stopping to read the plaques and admire the spring along the way.
Found the ammo tin and sign the log. The tin has definitely seen better days, it is even rusted through the bottom. But the log was fine and dry.
Thank you very much for this fun puzzle, which wasn't too tricky or time consuming.
We really enjoyed ourselves.

On the way home from my Grandpa's house (but I call him Pa) my Mum mnance101, my brother mazza151, my muggle Grandma (but I call her Nana) and myself decided to do this cache. What a cute name to call a cache when the place is called Ban Ban Springs. TFTC!
On our way back from Binjour to Brisbane, my son mazza151, my daughter pinkypie05, my muggle mum and myself decided to do a few caches along the way. My kids and I have driven past this one many times on the way to my parents farm. At Christmas time I made note of the information at WP1. Knowing that we were coming here this weekend, I calculated the coordinates during the week using the information I had gathered. When we got to Ban Ban Springs today I doubled checked the information at WP1 to make sure it hadn't changed as the description said it did get changed every couple of years. Information hadn't changed. Yay! Now off to GZ. Got to GZ. I couldn't see any geotrails. I'm not sure I want to go walking through that long grass. Something doesn't feel right. Went back to the car and recalculated. Soon discovered that I had counted the O as a zero. Oops! I then recalculated. Ok, not far from where I was, and oh look, a geotrail! Took TB. TFTC!
Being "grey nomads" ourselves, we stopped here, but just for lunch. Now in our defence we are not good at multis as we often seem to stuff up somewhere along the way. This one though was fairly straitforward and we came up with some reasonable numbers, though we did start the walk before realising we could drive a bit closer. Although the box is looking like it's been out in the elements a while, all was good & dry within. We were thrilled to find a couple of TB's in residence as on our current trip (comprising several hundred finds to date) they seem to be as scarce as hen's teeth. Took one to move on to warmer climes. Thanks for helping to raise our multi find count a tad WitchPig. Clever name!
Found the 711 pole OK. Rectangular numbers nice and easy to read. Circular - well, had to stretch with camera with camera in hand to take photo then zoom in to read them. Did the maths, drove to GS and yep - found BanBan's play toys and log book in a nice regular cache. Found at 4.35 pm on 3rd June 2015. TFTC. It was fun. Dropped in TBs "Bonjour Binjour G'day Mate" and "The Wild Charmander".
Found as a part of the Walk for Life team.
I 'd walked my 15km for the day and then we went to look for this one. Great place this Ban Ban Springs.

They are spending 14 months and plan to walk around Australia raising money for prostate and breast cancer awareness & research.
Follow them on Facebook, walk with them when they pass through your area or maybe you could donate something to their cause.
[Green]Thanks for placing a large cache here. After caching for over ten years it is really sad to note that the trend of placing small caches (without swaps) is increasing. While nanos and eclipse tins sometimes have their place in an urban environment these, along with 200ml Sistemas, seem to be the norm these days even out in more remote areas. It made us feel really glad to find a large, kid friendly cache here.[/Green]

On our way to BlazeAid at Biloela and stopping along the way for a few caches - following behind DiMorgan but looks like we get to log first. This was a bit tricky with a coach load of muggles hanging around the waypoint pole, but we managed it. TFTC Witchpig
Todays we headed north stopping at Ceretodus Rest Area for the night.
We stopped at many roadside rest areas & visited some very small towns.
A nice little multi, my maths were poor & made a mistake that no third class student would make. Then back to GZ to find the cache

This would have to rate as one of the world's rustiest caches. A lizard had taken up residence in the cache. Nice little multi to break the monotony of our travels. TFTC
Camped nearby for the night, and took a stroll to WP1.
Had some trouble reading the tags, so lifted up geo-wife to take a picture with the GPS.
Went back to the caravan to do the calculations, then did a shorter walk to GZ.
Cache was found quickly, and in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache, WitchPig, for us and others to find.

We tried to get this one a week or so earlier but just couldn't make out the numbers on the circular disk. Today though, the light was in our favour and we could just work out what we needed. The calculations were done and before long the cache was in hand!

lots of muggles camped here today, but not interested in me on the hunt.
solved the puzzle and headed off to what I hoped was gz and found the very rusty container
I removed the packet of very soggy tissues and found the log was very wet and slimy so I replaced it with a new book.

Not entirely sure how I missed getting this one back in 2010 when I was last here, but oh well, passing through today so it'd be rude not to have a crack. Inbound I read the description and I knew we were running a bit late for arriving in Hervey Bay on time, so knew this one would be a quickie on my part.
We arrived and thankfully the area was mostly deserted. I found the pole at the co-ords, but 711 was not on it. Definitely the right pole though, I recorded the numbers. I hopped back in the car to smash out some maths. Thankfully I'm not too shabby at mental arithmetic. First of all the tags must have changed for the checksums didn't line up. I decided to have a go anyways and did the number crunching. A quick check and entered into GPS. Pointed in a likely direction so I bailed out of the car and dashed around the where the GPS wanted me.
The folks followed me in the car and Dad helped with the hunt. The co-ords had me in a spot that seemed ok, but didn't match the hint. I looked all around anyways. Nearby was something that matched even moreso, but about 30m away. Gave that a look too, but no cache. Ended up having a bit of a look all around, but no luck. I guess this one today was not to be. Hopefully next time the numbers match up for me

9416 kms travelled in 21 days, one awesome eclipse observed near Mt Carbine in Northern Queensland and 712 cache finds, including a small handle of FTF's.
This was a trip I'd been planning for over 12 months with the main reason being to observe the solar eclipse on the morning of the 14th of November. I had decided to drive to Palm Cove and back, where my penthouse accommodation was located, while the rest of the family flew up and back. I love the drive and the unknown adventures that lay ahead; and I even think the last time I did one this big may have been for the previous eclipse in Australia which occurred over SA.
Apart from the great experiences, awesome scenery, and the characters met, the other reason to drive was to also do some serious caching, with the plan to stop at some power trails along the way including the Fruit Run and A.S. series near Stanthorpe on the way up and the Mid North Coast Wander series, just out of Port Macquarie, on the way back.
I had five days to travel each way with ten days in between spent in Palm Cove holidaying with my family. My route up took me from Melbourne to Tocumwal and up to Glenn Innes, through Toowoomba, Rockhampton and the coast road to Cairns while my route back was a bit more erratic. Heading from Cairns to Townsville then via Charters Towers to Rockhampton. From here it was through the amazing mining region to Roma then across to Dalby down through Stanthorpe (again) to Armidale, Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga, Tocumwal and then home - phew.
After staying the night in Goomeri I cached my way along the Leichhardt Hwy to the Capricorn Hwy and in to Rockhampton where I arrived around 7:30 pm and stayed the night in some proper accommodation (as opposed to the back on the Prado). I got the numbers and did the calcs but made a miscalculation and as I reworked it bundybirder and wendywoo who turned up. A cache that hasn't been found in nearly 6 months and three cachers arrive at the same time . . what are the chances. We made our way to GZ, the hard way through the very tall grass, and quickly located the rusty old hide. Swapped some TB's and had a chat before moving on.

A bit pressed for time today i pulled in and quickly grabbed the numbers for this one to do the maths in time for my return journey later this week. Wish me luck!
Took a bit of work without a proper GPSr all I had was my iPhone left coin and patch took. Compass tftc
I can't believe Ian didn't do his math correctly and I was the one that worked out the correct cords!
We loved this spot so much that even though it was only lunchtime we stayed for the rest of the day and overnight. The weather was beautiful and our only disappointment was that we didn't walk further down the dirt road to the crossing as we would have then found an even better camping spot according to a local at Biggenden.

On the way to Eidsvold Show on saturday, stopped here for a cupper and a break, found the relevant pole, took a photo of the numbers, took 3 goes that I could read, did the sums, and went for a walk.
Had to follow the GPS as the grass is about 1.5m high, literally fell over the log, searched along one side, nothing, thought I'd disposed of Murphy years ago, of course it was on the other side at the other end.
The cache took a bit to open, badly rusted, possibly from a fire some time ago, there is no seal in the lid, so moisture can easily enter, some of the contents were damp, but the log was writable.
I will try to supply a new plastic bag on the way home monday.
Cost me 4 bandaids for my effort, thats life.

Wow the grass is long at GZ at the moment. Cache is still functional but not in great condition. I have reviewed the math as the pole was recently updated, sorry Team Astro I found out about the same time as you when I had to pass through here for work. Checksums have been added so if the pole is updated you won't have to rest for too long
Stopped of here and attempted the maths based on the 2 signs. I'll send photos to the owner of the 2 signs and my calculated GZ. I carefully reworked the math a few times. I could not get a close by GZ from the numbers. Epic fail over 30 minutes or so. A great rest spot with a couple setting up roof top tents near by. Hope the next players have better luck
After helping to hide this cache as a muggle in 2006, I finally returned as a cacher. Geo-princess decided today was "pants optional" and didnt want to walk in the long grass or out in the occaisional spit of rain...so I rocked with all finds for the day!
Grabbed the co-ords to this on the way up to Cania on holiday but the short walk for us equalled 1.46k's something was wrong here and we are unable to figure it out the small round disk it very hard to read
Found it...
Had done all the preliminaries late last year - but on that occasion gave up hunt for GZ due to fading light and increasing rainfall (took me 8 hours to get back to Brisbane the next day)...
Cache was soon located today - container however beginning to show some serious degredation - may need some TLC...

Quite a disapointing day really. Five caches on the list for our continuing meander south and by the end only two viable. Sadly, these two variously-sized grey nomads were totally unable to read the numbers on the round disc. Has it been moved higher? Has it just deterioratd? Even brought out the binoculars! Attempt abandoned.

Found on our way North for the winter. We stopped here for a cuppa break & it was a very popular spot for grey nomads. The numbers were OK to read, just, and the maths looked right so off we went. Nice big cache, but still very hard to open. I tried to loosen it a bit, but can't guarantee anything. Quiet at GZ too. TNLNSL TFTC,

In our travels home from a camping extraveganza, we (MrsGreenGeckos, AKA the obsessed one) decided we do some caching along the journey. Can't say I was disappointed by that, at all.
After a mad scramble through the car to find swappables (inclding a really neat fish-shaped caribeena LED torch - the ones from BCF where you press the eye and the light shines out its mouth), we set out in search of this one.
Firstly we had a 'numbers' issue - well, more of a legibility issue - then we had a 'listening to the non-gecaching spouse issue' - we did manage to find it. Lucky we have taken MrGreenGeckos along because this tin was as tight as a fishes ...

Found after a false start ( note to self ; legible numbers make a HUGE difference) Had to call in the muscle to get the cache open as the fire had done its best. Threw in a few more swaps as it was looking a bit empty. TFTH
I arrived at the rest area after dark (it had been a long day) and using torch light I extracted the required data and did my sums. Then over to GZ. Again with torch light I carefully stepped into the area and had a cursory look but was fazed by the darkness, chest high grass and weeds and slithery sounds in the darkness (my imagination??). My torch kept reflecting on the wet grass so I wasn't really able to see the ground very well.
I decided to stop before something untoward happened. Will return sometime in the daylight.
I decided to stop before something untoward happened. Will return sometime in the daylight.
Finally returned to this area and solved the "maths". However, flooded all around the GZ area and unable to actually look for the cache. We will return when the weather improves and the area has dried out.
Cache had definitely been burnt out. All contents destroyed, TB partly retrieved. New log book and only one trade as I was passing through when I found out about the fire. Cache is 1 metre from it's original home, but it is an obvious hide still.
A fire has been through the cache location and completely durnt the contents to ashes, so a new log is needed, The only thing I had was a peice of paper for a temp log, cache container is still ok, I feel sorry for the owner of the TB that went up in smoke.
Easy multi to solve, but harder to find, a fire had been through and the cache had no hiding place anymore, dug around in the ashes to locate it, all the contense were burnt to ashes,Cache is now about 1 meter away from original location at another log.
4:40:00 PM 1908 An enjoyable multi. Didn't take too long to solve. Dropped Purple Haze Tb and grabbed Kaengrule TB
Found it & dropped off a TB A German kangaroo (of all things).Took a bit of brain strain ,but we did it TFTCx
At last I got this one. I have been through here 4 times with our motor bike club, but I have never been allowed any time to look for the cache. It's always back on the bike and go. I finally go the chance to go there are alone, and nabbed the cache. Mind you it was a 400k round trip! Thanks.

Stopped at the location on the 14th August while travellinf down to Toowoomba. There were a few Grey nomad muggles and a local council worker muggle who was eating his lunch at the park bench while being monstered by the local bird life. We really loved doing this one, and the difference between the two positions made us stretch our legs.and see the different park positions.

6th for the day on my trip from Bluff to Bribie Island for Christmas.
Found at 1240 hrs.
A bit hard to be discrete when in HiViz workwear.
After my attempt a year or so ago, with only the coordinates in the GPS, and not realising it was a multi, I came better prepared this time. In the end, an easy find.
Cheers

Found at 0900 today. Worked out the new co-ords fairly quickly and drove right up to GZ. Took Snoopy toy and left mini sharpie pen. TFTC.
This is good cache to find while travelling. The co-ordinates were spot on having read the number on the post.

I took the big spider which will appear in another cache. I left a CD with the Geotalk episodes & video casts on it.
Great spot to stop for break while on the road.

Enjoyed the stroll by the lake and through the grass to find the cache. Only to find when I got there that I could have driven strait to the cache.

Got the numbers a while back, thought it was about time I came in for the find. Found with no trouble. left our new TB Fur-bee. TFTC
I thought that this would be a quick stop off on my southbound treck, but oh for a printout instead of shorthand details! Eventually found it rather easily and a little exposed, but safe and sound. TFTC TN left weromin token.
Good place for a break on the highway. TFTC. Left AusPearl trinket, took Red Cross Geo coin.

called in on our way past to drop off Geocoin Red Cross to continue it's quest. Taken TB AnnaBelle to move on.
A good cache for TB as it is unlikely to be muggled.

The tags on the pole as per the description have now changed. The round tag is the date of pole inspection. The date has now changed as it was inspected Nov 07. Therefore now unable to work out GZ.
Nice find on the way home from school holidays. Good spot to stop and stretch the legs to break the trip a bit.

Cool Cat Connor and Riley Rooster (2 newly converted cachers) did the honors of finding this cache!
Was a great stop for us to get out and stretch the legs.

A nice easy find. I've stopped here many times in the past when I lived up this way 20 or so years ago. This was the usual rest break on the run from Mundubbera to Bundaberg. TNLNSL. TFTC!
