Logs
This cache has been archived due to the remodelling of the park. But geo-hounds need not dispair - Tronador will soon be replacing it with an alternative cache in the same park.
Thanks Tronador
Thanks Tronador
Seizer and I have discussed possible options as they no longer live in the area. This listing will be archived and I will resurrect the cache which was retrieved and re list it in the general area as a new cache.
I have retreived this cache from a friend of Seizers. We are working out what to do with this cache listing in light of the muggled trees.
Stay tuned.
Stay tuned.
wish i had read the notes before trying to find this one! found WP1 and then obviously got stuck...
Yes well we'd had a nasty suspicion about this cache following our earlier visit a couple of weeks ago, which was confirmed by Tronador today. Have known caches to be muggled before but seldom trees! Herewith the photo.
Very sad news but the location of Wpt 2 is no more.
I arrived here with Altaire this morning to try and finish this off. I'd been here twice before and know the sign well and the clump of trees in front .
We arrived and as I glanced up, I recoiled in horror to find the entire stand of trees ,scrub, bushes where Wpt 2 once was had been totally chopped down and the stumps almost ground down. All that remained were three very large mounds of fresh mulch.
I never did locate Wpt 2 but wanted to take another crack today but had an idea where it might be.
Hopefully GZ is still safe. Not sure what can be done here as the entire multi would need to be reworked.
Seizer.... I'm willing to help out if you need a hand getting this up and running again. Altaire have a photo to send you of the destroyed area.
Date should be Nov 2.

Being in the area we called in for a quick cache check. Besides, this used to one of geo-hound's old stomping grounds, and he fancied a visit.
Grabbed the Civil War geo-coin while we were here, for a trip across the border to Queensland.

Second attempt but despite no muggles the film canister refused to come to hand. Gave it a pretty good search and fairly sure I had the right tree. Drat!
This is the second time I've tried to find Wpt 2. How do you use the bearing function on a GPS? It didn't matter which way I walked it never registered the supposed given number, in fact it chopped and changed from 65 and then to 350. Please help.
I just ended up blindly looking in all the trees but there are so many stick and dead wood, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Not even one hint????

Nice park area down by the water. Found WP1 quickly and then WP2 and it was on to the cache. The tide was fairly low so no problem with any blackberry bushes. Although I don't think you could walk your dog too easily to GZ, it took us a little while to locate it. TNLNSL. TFTC.
This was a tough cache to tackle in the rain together with a very high tide. WP1 is a tricky hide and took 15 minutes to locate, very wet underfoot. The Cache itself is another good hide. Did you know that there is a blackberry bush if you are forced to bush bash by the high tide to get to the Cache. Took my shoes off and waded back rather than tackle that again. None the less, a great Cache and I thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks for taking me there.

Finally done, last time I ran out of time at WP2.
Today it tokk around 5 minutes.
A clever hide as for WP1. I would rate it 2.5 for difficulty.

Took a while to find WP2. After careful revision of the task and area finally got it
Nice walk to the actual cache but no good stuff inside
TN, left Christmas toy and hope others will trade up.
Achtung! Double-headed snake still there on GZ.

Finally on my third attempt I can put this one to bed.
I had to pass here today or close enough on my way to a job, so thought it's as good as time as any to finish it off!
Thanks for all your hints on this one Seizer I think it's safe to say it will never be muggled in it's hiding spot.
To spite the three times I had to come back I still enjoyed this multi a lot. You really do need a Geomutt so not to look so out of place.
I have picked up the TB and will move it on shortly. No swaps today. Thanks again

Went back to have another look for this one today.
Found WP1 no worries thanks for the tip seizer. Got to GZ and spent an hour looking for the cache but again was unable to locate it. I even phoned a friend but alas another DNF. I guess I'll have to come back and have another look another time. P.S. I did see the pink snake spoken of in earlier logs though

This was to be our 3rd find of the day and the walk in was a pleasant one. The clue did not help us at all, we reckon we searched the most obvious bearing and distance as described from WP1 but to no avail. If WP2 is where I suspect it is I wonder if it is still there? 7 months have passed since it was found. Is it possible WP2 has gone MIA?
Either way I'm sorry to have missed this one I'll try again soon.

There were plenty of muggles with their geo-kids and geomutts playing around.
In: Thirsty Kiwi TB
Out: Compass (I had better hand the work one back).
Cheers for the cache.

No luck this time.
Found WP1 and WP2 with no problems.
The cache was more elusive and after 15 minutes of being eaten by mozzies we gave up.

Found the cache at 11am. Real enjoyed myself... Enjoyed walk along to the cache. no swap. Thank you for organise the cache and hunt.
1st find in a 2 day local area cache hunt.
I too found the synthetic snake in the bushes, and without the benefit of foresight that reading the logs would have given me. After making the strange discovery and not finding the cache for a while, I went back to the info to see if I could glean a clue. At least i knew i was in the right place. The cache registered on my retinas in a less surprising way soon after.
Thanks for the cache, this has been my nearest unfound for a little while now.

The southerly was too strong for flying so this sky dog was walking today. When you're dressed up for work like I was, it's difficult to sniff around GZ without getting filthy. Fortunately it turned up pretty quickly about where the co-ords said it was. TNLN. Another fine spot you've got me into! TNLN. Thanks.
We had previously visited WP1 & WP2 but ran out of time to search for the cache. So this time it was really easy to go straight to GZ. However, to actually find the cache took 15 mossie-bitten minutes of manic searching. We must have walked over the cache location several times during our search without realising where it was.
A very clever cache - particularly the way the info at WP1 is used on it's own coords to direct you to WP2. Enjoyed the informative walk through the park.
Took Le Cassina TB for a sail.

WP2 was a quick and easy find, but the cache itself took some work for me. I looked everywhere, including where the cache was hidden and was unable to find it. Reading past logs just made me more uncertain as I hadn't found Spindoc Bob's toy. Finally I looked in the correct place for a second or third time, and finally spotted what I was searching for.
On the way back I finally spotted the toy in question, which I must have been inches away from previously.

SPINDOC BOB WISHES TO ADVISE THAT THE FOLLOWING LOG IS FOR MATURE AUDIENCES. IT CONTAINS ADULT THEMES.
A fairly straight forward cache, but an interesting twist at the end.
Once I had determined the final location of the cache, I followed the arrow to a quiet shady area. I scan edthe bushland and finally headed to where my GSPr suggested was ground zero. There was an unusual object. At first I thought it was a snake, but then I noticed it was much thicker and bright pink. Upon closer inspection I realised that it had two heads, was about two feet long and made of silicon or latex. Maybe it is part of some ritual or a prop from Priscilla at Star City. Needless to say...I was not CITO'ing this one.
Tangles, did you drop something from your back-pack when you visited?
After that little suprise I spent another 15 minutes searching for the cache. Was just about to give up, when I decided one last hunt with the patented cache finder was needed. BINGO! found it. TNLN.

The only way we can walk our dog these days is if we tie him to skateboard and tow him, but he does seem to enjoy it.
Thanks for the warning Mallycat, but the fox-baiting restrictions apply only to dogs, for their own safety, while the fox baits are out. This usually lasts for 6 weeks, though the notices are often not removed until some time later. Humans are considered unlikely to go sniffing roudn the baits, although care should be taken with geo-kiddies
In the meantime anyone desperate to find this cache should leave the geo-hounds at home, perhaps with a promise to bring them to this great off-leash spot once the baiting period is over.

Our first ever find, thanks to our guests from Alabama last week who introduced us to Geocaching. We have been to this location many times & now 2 more times thanks walking the dog. Took us 2 goes to find GZ & the 9 year old got it. We took the ceramic chicken & left a cork which was meant for Wine Lovers which we also found but couldn't get to because of mugglers with rods. Will have to open another bottle of wine now to get a new cork for GCN8JB. Thanks to all we are hooked!

A late start to the day, and on our way to somewhere else, so we dropped in to give this one a try. The first 2 waypoints were pretty easy, the GZ was a little harder to find. But, if you trust in your GPS, you will find the co-ords are spot on.
Just did a bug swap today.
Watch the high frequency of dog shit on the ovals.

What a gut - wrenching cache this was. Found WP1 and WP2 pretty easy but the final cache was a killer! Spent over forty minutes tracking it down but eventually, finding it was the best reward!!! Took INXS TB, left ceramic chicken and Tyrone the Turtle TB.

Another lovely Sydney spot. Found waypoints 1 and 2 easily but spent a bit longer finding the cache when my gps had me further down the hill before relenting. T Caribiner, L monkey. Thanks Seizer.
A well thought out cache with all coordinates spot on.

Very dissapointed, as I couldn't find WP2. Without coords it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Even tried to do a search within the given radius but with no succcess, the bearing led me to an obvious place but after numerous attempts came up empty handed.
Might try again one day!
Might try again one day!
Congratualtions Illogan. We were starting to think that no-one wanted to play with us!
And commiserations Tronador. That short distance on the given bearing should bring you to an obvious and rewarding place. Tomorrow is dedicated to searching for orange & white flags but we will check out WP2 on Monday

Your first hide is my first "first" so that is a bit of a buzz. A beautiful day in another picturesque spot hidden away in Sydney. No real problems and the coords were just fine despite my ancient GPS. Another enjoyable and interesting cache. Thanks Seizer. TNLN
