After 2 DNF reports ,a check was needed .A check of the exact spot has seen the "davinci" goods gone. The local boys have shown evidence of some night-time activity nearby and i suspect a accidental find and keep has probaly occured. Will rectify shortly ,but the exact spot will be moved within 20m ,co-ords changed and placed in one of the many garden locations nearby but far enough away from the boys activities.Sorry for the inconvenience, will have the new "mona lisa" and magnifying glass back soon.Thank You.

Pickupfamily Dad had no luck at 1830hrs today. Lots of places matched the hint and none hid a cache that I could discover today. The Da Vinci Code remains a mystery still.

20-Jan-07
Had a good look for this one yesterday (rain to keep the muggles away) with no luck. Came home and looked over the clues and comments more closely and I think I know what to look for, but had another quick look today and still no luck..?...

A very clever hide. Brought a smile to my face. Unfortuantely I won't have enough time in Melbourne to finish the series, but it looks very clever. TFTH Poodle-Smoodle in tow along with the nephews.

Loved the cache! Found with ds-fifty and my cousins. TFTH

Found it after a preliminary run last weekend when there was a birthday party about 50 metres from GZ.
Still felt very conspicuous while searching, but Mrs Squalid eventually made the "Found it!" exclamation.

Took nothing, left mini-light-stick, signed log.

Thanks Farmers for the interesting puzzle.

Found by Mary & David at 1525. What a great place! So nice to see some water. Even saw some tiny ducklings. Took magnetic key case, left box of staples and gecko. Our thanks to the farmers 5.

01-Oct-06
saw some other dnf logs and then finds on this one so i might be jumping the gun, but an abundance of empty spray cans in the likely cache spots and no sign of a 25 litre container makes me think it might be gone.

An interesting challenge both in finding the cache and collecting the clues for the next leg. TNLN. Greg and Bev

I can see this series is going to take some time. Last visit to Melbourne the park was full of muggles. This time an early morning grab was easy, but on to the next cache and the muggles were out and about.

25-Aug-06
Back to this park again after an unsuccessful last trip (it was getting late then!). Found easily this time, felt a bit sheepish that we didn't find it last time. It was a bit lighter this time, and we could see more of the park - nice spot. Struggled with the clues for the next cache (eyes are not as flash as they used to be) - lots of scrambling for reading glasses Smile
Thanks, Robmc.

25-Aug-06
Found it this time and all the others too. Once we had that starting clue there was no stopping us. All done at night too. Left a dog and took the dog TB.
Thanks.

Found at 6:15pm Accompanied by Chewinprickles and Robmc on our usual cache
all night till we drop expedition. 1st find for the evening, this was our second attemp the first time we almost stood on it we were that close, even a call to Dak didnt help, but a follow up call from the Dak the next morning gave us the desire to come back.
In : Mondo, Out: Smiley Magnet, Signed Log. Thanx to the Farmers 5....Big Grin

Given that the western marauders had failed to find this one, despite my 'help', I thought I'd pay a visit to ensure it was still there. It is, but I'm afraid that I muight have misled them when they rang for assistance. Sad I have rung Oenze to apologise and to set him straight. Red Face It turns out that he actually touched the cache, but didn't want to disturb it!

Now that I have returned home, I see that edmil and Maddie logged it yesterday as well.

12-Aug-06
Found by edmil & maddie. Nice little park. Maddie located this one before me, so I'm yet to live it down. Studied the artwork closely but had quite a bit of trouble deciphering some of code, due to some wear I think, so we've taken a stab at 2 of the numbers so hope we'll get the next ok. TNLN thanks for the cache.

11-Aug-06
Robmc, Oenze and myself couldn't find this one despite a long search and a call to Dak. Will try again another day whan we are less tired and maybe next time we will try in daylight.

Found by Bob at 1600

I was familiar with this area from my (and my son's) baseball playing days - Moorabin Baseball Club is just a short walk away. I hadn't visited this park before, but was most impressed with it - a real oasis in the suburban desert! I have to say that I thought the hide was one of the best I've seen - I can't say too much, but it really took me in (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). After a deep analysis of the artwork, I managed to get some coords that looked good so I was able to leave happy. Unfortunately, a bit later on, as I was leaving the 2nd in the series, I realized I hadn't signed its log - and that I didn't think I signed the log for this one either (I just got too engrossed in decyphering the image). Sorry Farmers - but at least my log in the next one proves I was here.

TNLN

Thanks Farmers - another excellent cache

Dropped off TB Droopy Dog to run around the lake and chase the ducks for a while.

Really enjoyed the thinking behind this one. Camouflage, nice park, hidden clues. Took smiley, left heart. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Thanks Farmers.

This was my first attempt at finding a cache. Powered up my Garmin 60CSX and daughter Ming (8yrs) and off we drove - 2.2Km from home. Got to the park 5PM - flippin cold - and off we trundled. Walked around the lake trying to get our bearings and then slowly we zero'd in. The cache was spot on. It is amazing how well some types of flowering plants grow in dense shade!!

Ming was absolutely jumping for joy when she dug up the cache. She now wants to treasure hunt every weekend. Ohh ohh - what have I started?

Ming wanted to take the lot as that is what pirates do!! But she appreciated it all once I explained the rules. So we left everything and shot off home to get Mum and cousin Christopher.

Arrived back with exchange gift and it was Mum's time to find cache. Ming navigated the way. Didn't take much time this time for some reason Wink

Ming Signed the log book and grabbed a blue highlighter and left a bubble maker.

The code for the next cache was hard to read. The numbers were not clear at all. Vehicles zooming and tree down/dug up?

Thanks for an enjoyable first find.

Ming & Mark

Dear Farmers 5,

We found your cache today at 2:15pm as the second of six on our "Cache whilst they Shop" afternoon. A very, very nice park to start our journey. Thanks for the cache.

There was hardly anyone in the park when I arrived. It took a little while to find the cache, but once done, I began my interpretation of the required answers. I wasn't too sure about a couple, but I went with my best guesses, plugged them into the GPS, and they pointed out a place known to me. Success.

I didn't make any exchange and headed off for cache #2. Thanks for the cache, and a novel concept.

he he...very clever this one. I saw the log come up and I was standing right at the cache site at 9pm on the Saturday night. But as there were teens drinking and smoking at the nearby picnic table, I decided to just note the location and come back another day...unlike our commando friend. I was all ready to make a morning assault to get the FTF, but noted that it had been logged I just thought I'll do it at my leisure now. This park is at the very end of the street that I live in...and I've been scoping it out for an ideal cache site and have one earmarked which is a doozy...hopefully they'll let me register it.
T: Neon Glow stick L: Necklace.
Yeah...some numbers are going to be a guess...is that a 3 or a 5?

19-Jun-06
Third of ten caches for the day. I had to go into Melbourne for an appointment so I did a few caches while in town. I found the cache at 12:45. I had no trouble locating the cache, but I did have trouble reading the numbers. Thanks Farmers for showing me this location.

We arrived at GZ to find dog walkers using the area nearby , we then made use of a very handy seat and waited for them all to depart. We found this one more by accident than skill after a good search of the area. We derived the required co-ordinates Dropped of TB lepidoptera and re hid the cache
Thanks Farmer for an enjoyable start to this series

I thought I'd duck out to see if I could get the second to find kudos. What a miscalculation that was! This cache has been very busy today. Anyhow, as I approached GZ I noticed that there were two muggles fishing in the lake in the approximate area of GZ. Surprised However, as I got closer, I could see that they were out of sight of GZ. I found the cache at 1705. It was getting dark, but I had brought along my you-beaut LED torch for assistance. I found almost all of the codes easily enough, but the code for "B" is very indistinct--almost just a blob, really. I took a punt on what it was and headed back to the car to construct the coordinates for Chase Two. I grabbed the two Travel Bugs that were in the cache, but made no exchange otherwise. Thanks to the farmers 5 for what looks like a great series.

Found 15:45, a nice easy find to start our chace.

Took nothing left TB Percy from Perth, thanks Farmers 5

Found at 2.50pm GAFF1. What a lovely park - why didn't we know about this one before now!! Loved the sound of the tennis balls being hit from the nearby courts - a very still day. Great concept for a cache however we were a little concerned whehter we read the numbers correctly. Thanks the farmers 5. Took: Key chain, Left: Glow stick.

Saw this cache come up late in the evening and thought why not. We arrived at this location and discovered a group of people nearby drinking beyond normal. I snuck around behind and with dimm torch started searching. Luck was on my side anf thankfully the coordinates were spot on, and they cache was found. I grabbed out what as needed and retired to the car to work out the next point and after re-checking a mistake in our assumption returned the cache to its hidey hole.
This log should end here but in all the being sneeky I forgot to log the find. We returned after the final cache and to our surprise the youth were still there but now even closer to the cache.
Covert operation "log a cache" was in order and I virtually crawled 30 metres to the cache and with a very small, very dull penlight torch I re-found the cache and logged the find. I then crawled my way out and after about 30 minutes arrived back at the car and left to go home to change out of some grubby clothing.
Well done and thank you to the Farmers 5 for a great cache, I cant say much else except very clever.
TNLN.
