Since I am holidays, I have not been aware of the disappearance of Conner's Box. So I will replce when I get back from holidays in a few weeks, sorry for the inconvenience.
Muddleypop.
Muddleypop.
I called by this spot last night with a couple of overseas visitors. Yes, I was introducing them to geocaching.
They searched high and low and I check out the area as well. Having found the cache previously I believed it would be an easy find.
It would appear that the cache has been well and truly muggled.
No luck today with muddleypop caches, this was my third muddleypop DNF. I tried twice once going one way then coming back. Could be missing
Been here a couple of times on the ride past without success, even with a bit of a hint!
The sats deserted the scene as I arrived. One lonely bird overhead. GZ bounced 20 to 30m up and down the path. Tried a number of possible locations but no cigar.
A quick wander, a quick find, a quick sign, and a quick leaving. Thanks for the cache
@nd of 16 finds today on the northside no muggles around this morning all in class or at work TFTC.
Found @ 6:28am
Snowman48 and I met up with Slapshot52 and jaymegee (visiting from the US) at oh dark thirty to see if we couldn't get a good "day's" caching in before the breakfast. Cache density is pretty high in wingaap territory so we were in for a pretty good morning.
Even with the clues we had some trouble with this one? Was it just the morning cold that gave our GPSr's so much grief. In the end persistence paid off the cache was found more or less where we thought it should be to begin with. Isn't that always the way?

[One of 15 caches on a "cache and dash" trip with Snowman48, Mloe, and Slapshot52 while visiting Brisbane from Colorado on a business trip. Ditto what Slapshot52 said -- big thanks to Mloe and Snowman48 for choosing the caches, driving us around and (ahem) teaching me to use my GPSr more effectively TFTC!] The description isn't entirely true -- we did have to go down the embankment a bit.
Grabbed this one on a personal record breaking run of 16 caches in one day with Snowman48, Mloe, and jayemgee while visiting Brisbane from Colorado Springs, Colorado on a business trip. It was nice to get out of the downtown area and see something beside the inside of the hotel and the walls of a meeting room! Big Thanks to Mloe and Snowman48 for taking time away from visiting family on a beautiful Saturday to show us around this great city.
Since we were visiting from the USA we decided to a little cache hunting very early in the morning. So a team of Jayemgee, Slapshot52, Snowman48 and Mloe (the guy with the local knowledge) set out to find as many caches in 4 hours as possible. This was one of 15 finds for the day and a great welcome back to caching for Slapshot52 who has been in a very unsuitable caching location for a good time. Thanks for the cache. Just as we left we finally worked out the origin of the name.
Oh yes! Found it finally! Had tried before in the dark, a couple of times. Find was made easy today because cache was exposed. Covered with leave litter. TFTC
Glad this was a quick find as the rain started just as we got there. Watched a scrub turkey scratching around right near us as we filled in the log. TFTC
My first Cache. Found it using GoogleEarth image too. The box is no longer black, paint has rubbed off to reveal the green underneath.
Some grand old trees here. A hassle free find with very few walkers/cyclists about. TFTC
Despite the GPSr insisting it was elsewhere I was scratching around in what happened to be the right spot. Of course, I was pulled away before I found it to search elsewhere before resuming my search in the original spot with quick success. Beautiful creek - would be fun to scramble down and explore.
My GPSr insisted it was down the steepest bit of the embankment, but we decided to hunt elsewhere in case, and lo and behold, there it was. Not much black paint left on it, though. A spectacular pine (Bunya?) on the way to the cache! TFTC. ='.'=
Easy find. It was where I looked first. Believe me, that doesn't happen to me a lot. TN/LN/SL. Had to be patient putting it back as muggle after muggle kept appearing. Why can't they all walk in one big group?
Found by Yarub @ 4:42pm
Soccer Training on the Flats finished early so I thought I'd take the opportunity to have a poke around. I was only working off the GoogleEarth image in my mind's eye so tried the two other trees further up. Found eventually after much scrub-turkey-ing! Don't worry muddleypop all the muggle-footballers were too busy training to notice.
Found in presence of Carlos Nachos!
Thanks for the Cache muddleypop!

Couldn't find this today. The GPS seemed to think I *did* need to go down the embankment tho.

Walked around for a while until I relooked where I had looked before. These cahce containers sure are popular around here.

Our GPS played up a little amongst the trees and there were many muggles about on bicycles but after a short search we found the cache snugly hidden.

This cache was find number 23 of 102 finds I did with Dtay for our record attempt on Saturday 18 November 2006.
We were here at 05:40 hours.
A couple of muggles out walking their dogs along the path here. Found this cache after a few minutes. I originally went a bit low before reading the cache description! Then Dtay came up with the goods.
Sat on a nearby log to record our visit and off we went.

Sneaky hide - unfortunately the log book is a little damp and mouldy. Thanks muddleypop
3 Muggle boys on bikes just standing around chatting (I never did that when I was a lad) Haven't they got anything better to do - like ride away!
Waiting...waiting... waiting
Confident we have the right spot.
we'll be back!

Magnificent pair of trees, but no trouble with the GPS for the co-ordinates. Nice little place to watch the cricket on a Saturday morning. TFTC
Had to wait for a couple of slow muggles and their even slower hounds to leave the area before locating the cache. Cheers!
Connors box – Found at 4:45am This one should have been easy, nice open area, pretty specific clues, good reception for the GPS BUT----, no, of course not. We triangulated the position quite a few times, thought outside the box, I was worried about our lights being seen from aross the road, as there were starting to be people around. More searching, eventually gave us the cache, but we really spent way too long looking for this one. But it does add to the tally.
Cheers

Well the GPS was all over the place on this cache. I was sure I was looking in the right spot, but 15 mins search failed to reveal it to my 3yo and myself. A quick call to Wingaap confirmed we were in the right area, and it was found soon after in a spot I had searched earlier. Wingaap arrived soon after and we sat down for a chat and exchanged TB's.

Note: Adacache (Canberra) and I (USA) are in town attending the Briz Blitz –East meets West Caching Event Day . After doing our South East run, we’re now caching our way through the Westside. Bruce, Wingaap, kindly met up with us for part of the afternoon and was our mentor for Wing-gap-ville!! All I can say is “That Wingaap is the master of disguise!!!!†Holey Dooley, he sure does know how to throw the scent off his hide locations! Adacache and I wandered about like lost souls for a few before locating this one. Talk about a great cammo! Laugh of the day was Bruce exclaiming “Suzzie, if it was a snake it’d bite you†as I stood ON the cache! LOL! Expression of the day was the complete surprise I showed when he showed us the hide! Too cool!!!

Twelfth of fifty cache finds for the day, on my fly in fly out visit. I found the cache at 12:10. I ended up on the wrong side of the creek (don’t ask). Once on the correct path I soon had the cache in hand. The coordinates were a bit out but the hiding spot was obvious. Thanks muddleypop for the cache.
Found it after about 10 mins of looking. This was my first find, as I just got my GPS a few days ago. I wrote in the logbook and re-hid it in the same place.
P.S. The black paint is rubbing off a bit.

14:45hrs Did two caches today and both of them the co-ords for GZ were a bit off the mark, this one was the worst saying I was still 14mtrs off. Had to time my retrieval and hide due to a school boy footy game happening.
We found the ccordinates for this cache to be 16 meters out. We searched both sides of the creek before we guessed the right location.
Thanks to geonanna and The Happy Wanderers I knew that this was actually here... so I came back with renewed determination.
I had my story already set down as to what to tell passersbys when they asked... but I guess I just looked silly enough that they didn't consider me worth talking to.
After about 15 minutes looking in *that* tree (the same one as last time) I still couldn't find the blighter! I started to widen my search and when I did that I found the cache in about 2 minutes... grrrr!!! It was so easy in the end. Thanks for the cache.

We just couldn't find this one. The location of it seemed fairly obvious, but it just wasn't there. After 2 phone calls to 2 different cachers who'd found it previously it was confirmed that it should be where we expected it to be, but despite a thorough search after that we just couldn't track it down. We were there around 3pm, I'd be interested to know if NastySteve found it after us or before us.
Still on a great bike track thanks to Muddlypop and Wingaap.7th for today at 1.58pm .This is where Tom,the 5 year old , decided to show off and do no hands while 10 metres away from an 80 year old man behind one of those battery operated walkers. He didnt understand why the old fella wasnt impressed .I wonder why! Thanks Muddlepop for a great spot .I will post the photo of the 2 THENANK geo kids on their bikes next to that massive tree soon .They are HHHHUUUUGGGGGGEEEEE trees.TFTC
I don't know why, but our GPS readings had the cache well down the embankment. Nevertheless, we searched every crook and nanny and, eventually, we found the prize. We also found a "geohint" indicating we were at least in the right vicinity - a HawMorFords sticker! I used to play football against this sister school back in the olden days. An old school friend of mine actually lives at the nearby school! He signed up! Thank you, Muddleypop.

A neat little hide next to a bike track I had to walk to this one from the car though as ye olde push bike is in for a grease and chain change
The coordinates for my new cache Conner's box are a little bit off thanks to wingaap letting me know.
The coords will be updated in the next couple of days.
Thanks

Fourth of thirteen finds on my last night in Brisbane, in company with wingaap. The coordinates were pointing me to a very uninviting place, but fortunately, wingaap had found it before, and told me that the coords are about 15m out. I searched the obvious place, and found it at 1935. It's a micro, so TNLNSL. Thanks to muddleypop for the cache.
No luck for us this morning... it was pretty early and i didn't take the notes with us so we weren't exactly sure if we had the info needed or not....
We will return for another go soon....

A perfect way to end a great evening....
I'd been out at a geodinner in honour of Dak's visit to Brisbane. Arrived home to find this cache close to home.
How could I not have a go at night caching?
Nice little hide. However I did find the coords off a little. Given the tree cover around the area it wasnt that surprising.
Hmmmm have I got someone encroaching in my hiding grounds
Keep up the good work....look forward to more of your caches Muddleypop
