As mentioned before the container is split and everything inside is wet. Replaced the log and the resealable bag, but had no spare container. Should definitly not done in summer, we wouldn't have a clue how to find it. TFTC
Looks like the water has been very high recently, standing at some points it was clear the water would have been above my head.
Spent about 30mins before giving up.
Cheers.

Had to work out the additional hint. But once I had that it was an easy find.

Start of caching afternoon - lots of older big American cars arriving nearby for maybe a club meet.(#384, 1/10)
Had to do a bit of a bush hunt for this one. there were a few mugglers around but managed to find cache without them even knowing we were there
I would have loved to come to places like this when young but I guess we lived on the wrong side of town and ended up at the beach instead. Bit of a search to find but got there in the end.
This cache really is my nemesis. Tried two years ago without success, back here from the North Island again and hunted around for some time. Oh well, should be back again one day and hopefully third time lucky.
The cache was really wet and I couldn't log so I went back to the car and grabbed a sheet of A4 and popped that in the cache as a temporary logbook, put a new snaplock bag in too, sweet!!
The ford is closed at the moment due to actual water in the river .... trees are bare but we couldn't spot the darned thing. There has been a lot of water thru so perhaps it's been washed away ..???? or maybe we just weren't looking with the right eye today. We were on the south side.
nice hide though easier in winter. unfortunately log is completely soaked. couldn't sign. added dessicant but will likely need to be changed or dried out in a more proper way. TFTC. interesting spot.
Out caching with kiwicachers and found quite easily but when went to log it the logbook paper was soaking! added a dessicant but will definitely need a new log soon or else will have to be probably archived.TFTC though......

Drove across this ford twice in one weekend and didn't stop either way. On Saturday was rushing to a soccer game over at Akaroa and by the time we got back here on Sunday I had done a very long detour (read got lost) going to another cache. So very tired boys had to leave it for another day.
I'm sure now I know this short cut we will be back again.

Found this one during our holiday in NZ.
Searched for a while and found it. Lots of fantails (birds) in the bushes. They came really close (almost less than 30 cm).
Our TB Lucky Topocat also shortly visited this cache.

#1093 Believe what the GPS tells you. Finding a micro in such a location is often a nightmare but this was fine. DS8300
Yay!! Found it. What a good spot. Cache needs attention tho. Log is very tatty and lid doesn't look waterproof anymore. TFTC
Third attempt: 1st = too many muggles & dogs about; dark. 2nd = getting dark, didn't read clue. Today = Muggles gone home from the important area, but they left their rubbish! A good hide & took a few minutes to find.
You might want to remove some of the used log. It's getting very dirty and hard to read. TFTC : - obviously TNLN

With the tree cover, the coords moved around. To solve this, so did we, and eventually spotted it. Also found the river hidden in the grass... squelch. A nice spot to relax and poke around hunting. Thanks. TNLN SL.
I was lucky - didnt find the water. Nice hide - and the history on the container... T4TC. SL.
Found this one while out night time caching in the rain with rincewind3 ,,He was on to it pretty quick, which was good because it could have been a challenge in the dark,, cheers and thanks
Don't know how I saw it so quickly, but glad I did - I was gettin wet by this time!
Might have to bring the family camping this summer....

Took quite a while to find. Pretty obvious from the right direction though. TFTC.
Nice hide. GPSr was spot on and the cache was pretty visible at this time of year. Thanks.
Winter, so easy for us to find. Contatiner full of water but surprisingly log book was dry.
Nice one, took a bit of looking and very pleased that I found it (whew!)
Signed the log, many thanks.

Nicely hidden cache. Found easily enough. Tenth find for the day. The ford was sadly lacking in water. TFTC.

3:42 pm - Ingenious. The nearby tree has fallen down, but hasn't affected the cache. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Just the place to stop for late afternoon tea (5.30pm) after caching in Ellesmere. Mmmmm - Conton's shoulders are way way higher than the average man's.
Inadvertently got a couple of wet feet doing this one, stepped where I thought there was grass, but it seemed to be floating on water. Had given up but then noticed a likely spot. Cheers.
Well we certainly got on much better here today as there was still a cache to find Liked the cache hide, pretty easy today but I'd say it will be more difficult as the weather warms up. Thanks for another cache Conton
This cache will be much harder in summer. 1st of 7 for the day. Inspected the damage at the old cache site. TNLN.
It looked like this was going to be a lytteltonwitch and Conton day - you two placed all the 9 caches I visited today!! Glad I did it in winter. But it was a bit tricky keeping the contents dry in the pouring rain!! Thanks and cheers from Grandalf(548)
The weather had deteriorated since Grandalf's visit. I think I kept the cache dry, Cheers Conton.
This one took us a wee while as our gps couldn't make up it's mind where to send us! Eventually we spotted it. Lucky it's winter. Cunning hiding place. TNLN Thanks!@
This took a bit of looking, mainly because I was studying the wrong feature but found it eventually.Very clever device and it will be diabolical in the summer[^]
Thankyou,

1157. We loved the way this was hidden. We were looking on another feature and turned around and Voila! there it was! Well done.
Thanks

Got here as the sun was close to setting. Took a wee while to find - mutters something about a needle in a haystack. Found it after a concerted effort. I pity the people that try and find this in summer! Cheers Gav [879]
Just starting the search with Lytteltonwitch when along came Black Panther who was about to give up. Liked this one very much. Thanks
It had us going around and around in circles,HelloMrs & I discussing where it could possibly be when blackpanther turned up.HelloMrs's sharp eyes eventually spotted it.I can't believe a car hit the tree where the original cache was, they must have been really speeding, drunk or both.
Just about to give up on this one then along came hello mrs & lyttletonwitch.
Yee ha, a FTF! The water wasn't quite over the ford, so no worries getting to it. A clever method of placing it Thanks.
