The sign for question one must no longer be there!!
Despite this, with an educated guess found the cache ok. I took the 2wd route, and used it as a great excuse to test out the new tomtom (which worked great Smile )

After a parking the car and the short stroll up the hill we spotted the likely position.

What ensued following the discovery of the ammo tin was an epic battle between us and the cache guardian a big black nasty spider!! (the Geokid allowed dad to do battle whilst hiding behind the tree)

T - Camel
L - Pink Bear

Found at 0800. Clues were easy to answer. took 2WD route. Quick to work out final CO-Ordinates.

Nice little drive on a good dirt road that I did not know existed. Grew up in Toowoomba did not know about Gormans Gap.

Very short little uphill walk. Quick easy find. Took GeoTalk CD and left mini sharpie pen. TFTC

We've been looking forward to doing this one for a while. We were in the area today, so we decided to have a go at it. The 4WD trail from WP1 to WP2 was fairly rugged, but we picked our way down slowly without any problems. We found all the info we needed and caclulated our co-ordinates. A quick(?) climb up the hill to GZ, where the cache was fairly hard to miss. Nice big box. Contents dry and in good condition. We picked up the geocoin and continued on our way. This one was great fun! Thanks for the cache!

Found with geo-uncle lat&long junkie on our day caching in Toowoomba with lochb and Liz & Bruce. Visited the wp's and finally headed with info in hand to the cache. Glad the road builders found a new way up the hill as this one's seen some erosion over the years. Picked up the friends TB.

Found this cache with 'Bedmaker', 'Liz&Bruce' and 'lochb'. It was being held hostage by a nest of large, black ants who were none to happy to have their home upset. Liz found the cache, then the ants and left. Bruce and I did the 'great, white hunter' thing and retrieved the cache without being bitten or stung. What a couple of heros Big Grin. Grabbed the Kaylee TB and left a bizarre puzzle ball that I was not game to undo. Signed the log and slip-slidded back to the car.

Good to be doing some caching with lat&long junkie, Bedmaker and lochb. Interesting drive in, we selected the non-4wd option and collected the data along the way. Quick walk up the hill and the cache was quite obvious so I did what was needed to uncover the cache only to find a nest of large black ants and eggs. I made a quick retreat and let the boys do the rest. It was all good fun. TNLN. Thanks for placing this cache in such a lovely area.

16-Feb-08
Dropped off two TBs which were picked up by Bedmaker and Lat&Long Junkie immediately. Also took the TB that was there.

Nice drive around Toowoomba, Clues were nice and easy to find. Left Buckling Wheels TB and Took Uncle Sam Bear TB. Enjoyed this one thanks!

What a journey!! Started out o.k. and got first 2 clues. Ended up 4 WD and came out on a very steep sealed road sometime later. Finally found a sign that mentioned Q3 and then we proceeded downhill 480 MT on foot and found the cache easily. Funny thing is that we went full circle and still managed to find it thanks to another sign I think??
Took stamp and sunnies. Left Uncle Sam's TB and Bart. Learnt a lot on this one.TFTC

Left Scooby

Found today eventually. Must learn to read the formula properly! Anyhow, another great place for a cache. It does beg the question though, Do some 4wd owners loose the ability to walk?
An historic site almost destroyed by erosion caused by a 4WD track straight up the side of the hill!
End rant

The revegetation work is coming along and hopefully further up the hill will recover.

Took Moose, left Christmas bell

Finally, I got around to tracking down this cache Smile
I'm glad I did Big Grin
It revealled a brand new and very interesting area to me and a new backroad up the range (to avoid the Toowoomba gridlock) [^]
The area at GZ has been closed off and revegetated. Good to see, otherwise this historic track would remain a badly eroded scar on the landscape. Looking at the road it's got me beat how Gorman got the wagon up this hill though on something like one horsepower Big Grin
TFTC and tour.

I loved the start of this cache. I tire of walking a kilometre into bush to find a cache the size of a peanut. This multi-cache didn't even have me getting out of the car to get the clues. Brilliant! The lazy buggers guide to caching Wink

We continued to the final. Interesting things to note.

The 4WDing to the cache has been closed off. The area has been cordoned off and marked as sensitive (I think you could get closer to the cache).

Upon our reaching the cache and opening it, we found that some of our Northern relatives (possibly backpackers from England) had visited earlier in the day and stumbled across the cache. They were quite happy to mark a comment on the Wallabies being beaten in the World Cup.

An enjoyable run around for this cache

Convinced a work colleague with 4WD to come with me. Amazing what these 4WDs can do!!! Were looking at wrong (temporary) sign at waypoint for Q2 initially. The sign at waypoint for Q3 has been moved down to the intersection (36m?), since the previous 4WD road has been closed and revegetation has been started. Quite a bit of construction happening in this area. Were able to walk to cache as track has gone, and found immediately.
Coordinates for the Q3 sign were roughly:
27 37.929;
151 59.362.
Surprised to find Spitfire TB.
Enjoyed this one - had no idea this area existed.

We enjoyed doing a bit of 4wding in the Mystery Machine to get to one of the waypoints although the last 150 metres of the track to waypoint 2 was a bit hairy. [B)] There were great views throughout this adventure. It took us to areas of Toowoomba that we hadn't seen before.

Mrs. Ando found it easily after a bit of prompting. Nice tiny bit of 4wd'ing after work. Good way to end the day!

This was our sixth cache of the day and we really enjoyed our four wheel drive approach to GZ.

The final location was a real surprise to us as was the great bit of history that we found there.

Thanks for the cache.

My first geocaching experience! Mate and I went to find it, went on the 4WD track in a 2WD laser, t'was fun lol. Walked was too far past the cache itself, backtracked and found it though. I'm addicted! Didn't leave or take anything though.

Definitely recommended.

The little bite of history at the end of this cache makes the whole adventure just superb. I can imagine that there would only be a handful of people who've stopped to read that sign to understand the significance of this area! That's what I love about geocaching is it just takes me to such wonderful places that I'd otherwise never go.

Near GZ there was a bunch of dirtbike riders that were likely wondering what a family was doing out here - there are a lot of tracks through here so it looks like they'd enjoy themselves.

Finding the cache was easy as it stood out from a distance - something only a cacher would notice as it was all safe and well. We swapped a few items but I don't recall what.

TFTC!

I think this cache description needs updating - there is new signs at the corner and at the clubs entrance, no mention is made at all of a date or number.

Another great cache from geographobiacs. Although we had difficulty with the 1st clue, the trip and learning experience was well worthwhile. We struggled up the track and left a TB which we originally hoped to leave at "Lest We Forget" but it wouldn't fit.

Great local drive. Found with two of my boys. Took the 4WD route which was made more interesting with the overnight rain which continued for the hunt. Turned the tyres into 'slicks'.

Like caches like this, woven with some history.

T: bag of marbles
L: Florida key ring

Also liberated Chris's TB. Will help on its journey.

Thanks for a great cache.

Big GrinTook two goes to find this cache. Thought I had it worked out on the first go but dark over took me and I had to abandon my hunt so went back to the motel to work out where I went wrong. I had one number out in the answer. Went back next day but still had some trouble in locating the cache. Had to use the clue and found cache still with some difficulty.
Took Stubby Cooler.
Left Key Ring and Chris’s Bug (TB)

Yee ha, FTF. Drove and walked around this area recently so I had a fair idea of the area I was going to end up in. Great hunt. Nearly needed 4W shoes for the short stroll to and from the cache.

Thanks geographobics.

Took carabiner, left stubbie cooler.

Also took The Boomerang TB. (Took photo of the scenery, so don't worry, geographics.)
