The area at GZ has changed and the hiding hole no longer provides the cover that it once did. I checked around for new hides but was unable to find one, so am archiving this cache after more than 4 years! It was the second cache that I ever put out.

Checked cache today and things are worse than I thought so its off line until I decide what to do.

As per previous finder, cache is very very wet. Log book and entire contents are drowned. I would have swapped the bag over, bit didn't see the point as everything was so wet. The walk in the park was nice though and the geo-scottie and I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks Alansee.

14-Aug-10
Fairly easy find, but the cache is literally swimming in water and hence much of this water is in the cache. Emptied the water out - and also tried to prop it up a little so that it isn't drowning anymore. TFTC Smile

Found it at 12.40pm in company with the Cortese's. This was their first introduction to geocaching. Not sure if they will want to try it again after witnessing our kids having a full on punchup while trying to establish who actually found it first. Ahhhh the serenity. TFTC.

No 19 of 25 with bogonghazy today, and my 15th find as I had visited 4 previously. Following the instructions in the cache description meant we sort of circled around the GZ a bit, but was much easier than the alternative. The location the cache is in contains a fair amount of water and the cache had water inside, which I tipped out. The log was fairly safe in its bag, and only a little dampish and musty.

Found in the company of Reesylou on a day of caching together.
Nice single stage multi, just the way I like them.
The walk to GZ was very enjoyable, even if it was like walking a question mark from bottom to top. LOL
My thanks to Alansee for another of your enjoyable caches that never fail to please.

Decided to go for a stroll after work and pick this one up.
A nice little multi.
Had some trouble with the fence until I finally found the gate. (had already walked past it!)
The cache was well in tact but the contents were a tad damp.
Nice lake and a pleasant walk.
Cheers and happy caching.

After wandering back to the car from Plenty of Trolls we decided to extend our walk to grab this cache. Grabbed the clues at a spot I've never been to before, even though I"ve ridden around this area a lot over the years. It's a remarkable spot and I'd never noticed just how expansive the wetlands were until now.

Clues in hand we then chugged off to make the find quite easily... I remember MTBing around this area a lot, and many others were doing the same today!

TFTC Alansee. .... again!

This was number 19 of 19 on my Epic Cache Run Adventure.
This was a great one to finish on. The body was getting a bit sore from all the running and this was a perfect place to sit back and look at the views.
Fantastic place for a cache. It's really a hidden gem.
The info was gathered and the cache log signed without any problems.

Thanks for a chance to visit this great location.

Cheers. Happy trails...

This was a nice easy find. We sat a while enjoying the view and the sunshine while we obtained the final co-ordinates for this cache, its a lovely spot.
Found the gate in the fence thankfully as i don't enjoy climbing fences.Cache was in hand quite quickly.

Thanks Alansee for another excellent caching experience.
Found with Been_there. Out for a training ride along the Main Yarra Trail. This was our sixth of 7 for the day - I think we might have done more caching than riding - oh well, it was a fun day. We've ridden through here many times before but never stopped to explore the area. That's what I love about caching - it gets you to take another look at your surroundings. The view from the seats was very pleasant especially with the sun peeping through the clouds. And the cache location had a lovely isolated feel to it.
Well done!

All is dry and well again. Actually its a new container, slightly smaller than before. Wink

Happily, the grass has also been cut making for a much more comfortable walk to gz. Big Grin

I was already a bit concerned that this cache hadn't been found for a while, so when the I saw the latest log I went to check on it.

All is well Smile except that the cache was full of water! Sad

I have therefore temporarily removed it for repairs.

Hmmm...is this chache still there? Double checked the puzzle data, and the location. There seems to be an appropriate spot that fits all the clues, but could not find a thing!! Eventually had to go home. No logs since April...?? Help! I will be back!!

This cache had everything. It was quick enough to do on the way home from work yet it took me to an area I hadn't seen before, taught me a bit of history, showed me some fauna, flora and even a birder. Gave me a bit of a walk and was totally enjoyable.

Cheers, TFTC Alansee.

The log has been replaced, cache dried, and a couple of rubbishy items removed. All is now well again.Smile

Took both Australia geocoins to rescue them from the flooded container.

The container was filled with water and the log is saturated - completely un-signable. We relocated the container slightly in an attempt to keep it dry. Needs some maintenance, though

Fantastic cache, especially at night with all the wildlife and the bumps and thumps in the night... one might almost get a little on edge with the glaring eyes of foxes and rabbits throughout the bush! Oh, and the wolf spiders (i presume) crawling accross the ground with their reflective eyes are quite spectacular as well! TNLN TFTC

Found 10.45am
We loved the area around WP1, sat and watched the wildlife. Mrs Keeper could not believe the size of a huge bird moving along the opposite bank, I had to laugh and tell her that it was a man on a bike!!! Ribbed her for the rest of the day about that (hehehe).
We were glad that we tried this cache when we did as I guess the area would be snake heaven in the summer.

Found by Pickupfamily Dad 0655hrs on a morning walk. Logging as a note only since the rest of the Pickupfamily got FTF on this cache. Crossing off this one means Pickupfamily Dad has now attended all the cache sites logged by Pickupfamily.

Found @ 11:20am after wandering around trying to find the right entry point. Walked straight past the right gate on the way in but it didn't register until some time later when we retraced our steps. Good location well out of sight of muggles. Left UFO TB, slinky, Commonwealth games badge and some pirate treasure and took mondo figure. SLTFTC.

11.00am
Found by Roma and Max.
After parking our vehicle we managed to set off on the wrong track amidst a bevy of cyclists. However this was soon remedied and we proceeded to the first point of call to collect the necessary numbers.
Only moment of indecision here was the number of signs as weed sprayers have placed 2 more signs close to the one containing the required numbers. As they were dated significantly later than when the cache was placed we made what turned out to be the correct decision.
We left a Mondo Figurine for the cache and took a Double Take Mirror.
Thanks again Alansee for this challenge.

With GypsyWanderer plus one and the TruffleHunters, we enjoyed seeing the expanse of water in the wetlands at WP1, and then, after some hesitation because the arrow did not seem to be pointing in a sensible direction (but we hadn't allowed for bends in the trail), we made our way to GZ. This was a lovely area and we admired a couple of cockatoos sheltering in a tree hollow. Having found the cache without difficulty, I left the 50 States Round Tuit TB. I think this TB needs to get back to the US, since the states it is currently visiting are somewhat removed from its home territory! TFTC.

We decided that this would be the last cache of the day and so we arrived at the recommended car park as darkness fell. Second time lucky for this cache. The first time I got way too clever in answering Q.A and wound up 200 metres out scrambling around on the banks of the yarra in amongst the blackberries and so forth. Sorted out my error at home. After a 7km walk, I was pretty pleased to spot the cache from 10m away, especially considering the previous attempt. Thanks Alansee for a really good puzzle and cache. TNLNSL.

Reluctant spouse was delighted with this one - there was a cricket match on! He was also taken with the wonderful old house and the great views it must have - he's decided he'd like to live in that street, please.

After parking in the wrong spot and getting a dodgy reading from the GPSr, things settled down and a pleasant walk led us to the cache.

Did not swap, and had to conduct business in a hurry as the sound of voices grew nearer.

Thank you, Alansee. How do you find these wonderful places?

I wasn't quite sure why this cache was a multi, after all we're in the bush Smile
When I got to the first waypoint, I was glad it was a multi. What a great view across the lake and up to the house on the hill. Very serene.
Made the necessary calculations and I was off. Following the advice in the cache description (great idea to add that in there) I was soon at GZ.
A quick look and the cache was mine.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks Alansee for a great stroll on this cool, but fine and sunny Saturday morning.

Found at 1:40pm. An enjoyable lunchtime walk to a couple of interesting locations. On the way out I was entertained for a few minutes by a Grass Parrot that landed close to me and came within a couple of metres on his hunt for grass seeds - while I stood very still. Bad luck I didn't have the camera for this perfect photo opportunity!

Out for a walk after a Fathers Day lunch, excellent area for bird watching and discussed the success or otherwise of the nesting swans with some of the watchers. Picked up the info required and located the cache readily taking into account the flood prone nature of the area. A sensible spot. Took little penguin and left a green frog. Also took Sgt Shoutalot along for some more shouting.

Dear Alansee,

We found your cache today at 5:45pm as the fourth of five on our Fathers Day Frolic. A nice walk in the park. I am always tentative on the interpretation that some one has on the use of the word "word" when answering a question like "E" so I always write down both. We followed our way through to GZ and the closer we are getting, the more I am thinking "It's the other one, it's the other one...". That was at least until we walked straight up to the cache and located it in the first placed we checked. Yay. Common sense prevails. We had just missed LinearZZ by 40 minutes. We also took TB Trash Captain. We tried to shortcut via the other path back to the car but thinking that we were going to get stuck on the wrong side of the fence, we had fun clambering over at a brace post, only to find that there was a style about 50m further down. Thanks for the cache.

Kind Regards,

D,H & A B-A

With the 2 girls on 4 wheels and the 2 adults + dog on 8 feet we'd been to find "Plenty of Trolls" on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We then headed off to look for this cache and were pleasantly surprised by the "hidden" seats overlooking the wetlands. We dreamed about owning the magnificent Banyule House then, returning to reality, we focused on the final stage of this cache and found it at 17:20.

Think i came from the long walk here but finally arrived at the hidden gem and now famous seat location .What a spot this is,i could see "daks" comments now about stopping with binoculars here is ideal. !ALL you need here is a coffee ,the sunday paper to read, the sunshine and you have a true great location at the seat hidden from the world! After working out the clues, hit the "hunt trail"and found the next little ripper of a hide spot!At the first location was expecting a T-REX too come up the lake it looks that tranquil,at the cache location..i am sure i could hear um here !!!Dropped off Sergeant Major Shoutalot travelbug for a bush trip.A well recommended cache and great picnic spot at the hidden seat !Many thanks to Richmonds gentleman cacher Alansee .

We could hear the birds, but didn't have much of a view. Found the lagoon (by walking into it). On the whole it was a nice walk at night. I probably would not recognize the place in the day (when is it going to get lighter at 7pm?)
Thanks, Robmc.

01-Aug-06
Unlike Acts 2, I can't really say we enjoyed the location because we came at night and therefore didn't see the sights quite as they should be seen. Roll on daylight saving I say. Great for cachers. Anyway found with little or no trouble. Left a TB who is apparently meant to go places where I don't think I'll be going in the forseeable future so I've let the side down slightly. Also took a horse which I later left in "Down on the Farm"

I found the cache at 12:25 after collecting the numbers. Two things that my caching mate Dak and I have in common, 1. We are both mad cachers 2. We have both been involved in bird watching at some stage of our lives. I really loved this spot, the bird life was great and the lagoon looked great. Thanks for showing me this location.

Found this one on the way to work at 9:10 having picked up the clues on the way home last week. A very pleasant spot (although coming from the home direction, I wasn't quite sure how to get to GZ) and great views of the wetlands. The recent rain had made the bike paths mighty slippery, especially with road tyres.

Gee I like wetlands, and this swamp is a ripper! I'm only sorry I didn't have my binoculars with me--I could have spent a good deal more time sitting on the seat at WP1. Found on my second attempt. I tried last week during a lunchtime but was led astray by the number of signs. I ran into Pickupfamily on my way to GZ, but because of the discrepancy, my GPS was pointing to an open area on the wrong side of the fence.

I was already running behind time, so I left it for another time. That time was today, and Alan-san and myself headed out again. At the published co-ord.s I realised that the extra sign there was a temporary sign about weeds being sprayed. With the correct co-ords in my GPS, we headed out there for what turned out to be an easy find. No swap was made.

Its a great area, and one that I hadn't visited before. Thanks for the cache, and for showing me this area.

13-Jul-06
Found at lunch time with Muzza wanting to have a second go at this cache. Once the temporary sign issue was put to rest the clues were easily put together, and after a quick walk and 5min search we had the cache. Although on the way the white cockatoos were definitely letting their noisey presence be known.

Thanks Alansee for the cache. No swap made.

Found by Bob at 1010

What a great area - it would be wonderful if some of the open spaces were able to revert to their original vegetation. It looked as though you could spend considerable time exploring the flats (and probably hide a few other caches here too Wink). I found the carpark ok, and was tempted to continue on the path on my motorbike (but didn't!). I followed some old guy along the path until he sat down on one of the two seats - I must have made him nervous, because he soon got up (while I was getting info from the sign) and said I could have the place to myself! The cache was a nice, quick find after following the slight geotrail through the grass.

Woohoo an FTF for Pickupfamily Mum and kids at about 1.40pm(with dad's help via the mobile and google earth whilst he was in the office, as well as a little local knowledge!)

This was tricky for us as Dad has the GPS at the office. (Hmm - maybe we need two!)

I just got home from the country with the kids and sat down at the computer to work, and up popped this cache 2km from home, I knew the carpark just from the description, so we raced down there. First point was easy, it was harder to find the cache location, we had a little more vegetation to contend with than expected. Once Dad confirmed we should be there, our "cacher's eyes" came in very handy.

Kids took a bird each, and we left two frogs and two snakes, as both can be about in this lovely park at certain times!

On the way out we met another walker with the telltale new cache printout - lo and behold we got the added bonus of meeting the lovely Muzza!

What a buzz - thanks Alansee for the cache.
