WanderingAus wandered by on day 96 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, and made a fairly quick and easy GAFF 0 find despite the coords being 6 metres out.

My find No 2881, LCC, TNLNSL, grabbed BAABARA TB (ref = TBGE7F), dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC in for a visit before grabbing it back again.

*Recommended* *Overall Experience: 2*

A delightful, cactus and cobbler peg filled stroll Smile
How do those spines get through leather boots ? Ouch !!
The cache was a nice easy find and in great nick too Big Grin
With the log book filled out and BAABARA travel bug dropped in I was off to find the other nearby cache Razz
But that's another story.

A good find while on our way to Dubbo. Be warned of all the prickles, we spent more time picking them all out before getting back into the car then actually finding the cache! Liked the container. TFTC

10-Jul-10
Found with DrDroid, Tentacles and KRanger girl.
My 9th find for the day.
My South African Muggle friend got beaten up by a cactus. Fun day. =D

10-Jul-10
Not my favourite place of the day, but most dramatic... Welcomed by a cactus launched off Tentacles shoe and into my leg. Ouch. Left wounded beginners behind to then be distracted by local landmark. Nice to explore it anyway, though not even safe from the cactus there. Was entertained by a Bear Grills impersonation being interrupted by unsuspecting birds in the nearby grass taking to flight and scaring us both. Who knew Bear was scared of pidgeons Smile Covered in prickles, itchy and a few owies, a ready end to a great day.

Hehe my favourite cache of the 9 i found today!
Please do take warning to the cactus though as it hurts!!
Me being a perfectly coordinated teenager had no trouble but
my South african friend who was coming with us for the first time was different.
After about 60 metres he got one stuck through his shoes and into his foot.
He pulled the main thing out but one spike remained in.
Eventually he heaved it out but with much pain and blood... well not so much blood
just a drop or two.
Please be careful and TFTC

Found with Tentacles & K Rangergirl.
Our 9th of the day (a new record) and our toughest thanks to some nasty cactus.
They're tough enough to go through your shoes & those fine ends get stuck in.
The old bridge turned out to be a distraction - albeit an interesting one.
TFTC.

14-May-10
This was our 3995th overall find.

Found at 4:31 PM. After the last cache I was sent out to get this one but I was watching out for spiky plants. The cache was found quickly and then we were off again.

Thanks Cruzzzinaround for the cache.

A quick find. Although others have warned about the cactus we both dropped our guard and came to grief. They are in clumps of strings like green cheerio sausages covered in spikes about 2cm long. They break off when you come in contact and I reckon the spikes go in about 5 mm OUCH. So beware.
Thanks Cruzzinaround

20-Feb-10
Found on a mega caching trip to Dubbo

20-Feb-10
Found at 14:35 with frogdude - the thirteenth on our trip to Dubbo.

Not a lot to report here - much easier to access than the previous cache, and a quick one to find. The traffic went quiet too, so a good score all round.

Thanks Cruzzzinaround Smile

Good spot for a cache, can get close to it with a vehicle, unlikely to be found accidentally, and it has history attached. Dropped off Quebec Geocoin hoping it will move quicker than where I found it. Took nothing. SL. TFTC

I couldn't look for this cache earlier in the week because I had to take some work colleagues with me to Narromine. Once there I could have run into any one of a thousand people in town but guess who I met? Cruzzzingaround!

I dropped in later in the week on the way home and parked on the old highway only to be surrounded by hundreds of sheep and under the watchfull eye of the cocky. No option but to have a cuppa and wait till they slowly moved on. A friendly wave to the departing cocky and the cache was mine. Thanks Cruzzzingaround. Good to meet you mate and hope to see you caching down our way soon.

08-Oct-08
This was our second cache of the morning on a bit of a cruise around before we started work this afternoon doing the fireworks for the Dubbo Monster Truck Show. This would have been a great place for an inn and to water the horses, we passed the New Mexico geocoin through on it's way up north
Thanks again Cruzzinaround for the cache

We rescued a parrot trapped under some chicken wire whilst walking into this cache so we figured that earned us a few karma points. Sure enough, the cache was right where the GPS told us to look and we were soon back on the highway. The flies did drive us a little batty though! TNLN.
(no sign of a TB in the cache...)

With Riblit, a nice quick find, love the history of the area, Left Riblits Glasses took nothing.

20-Jan-07
Found on the way back from Narromine after visiting Sugar Glider. No spiders to be seen but there is a pair of glasses somewhere nearby.

Can't remember the date exactly, but it was a while ago we found this one. Hunter beware of the HUGE spider that resides on the ground right where you need to stand to retrieve the cache. He's a social one, pity he's just so damn ugly! There is a story. No, I'm not going to share it!

Thanx for the cache, very interesting spot. Loved the map in the cache too, although didn't hang around to look for too long, the eight legged freak was around somewhere and I wasn't all that happy about being in his company.
