Great spot. Fun ride in with the dirt roads and thunder getting loader in the background. Now to get back to Orbost before the storm catches me.
WOO HOO - first cache find for 2024. I parked at the Orbost Golf Course and rode my e-bike around the bush tracks and right into the Falls viewing platform. Had a great ride in and out although it was a little warm and there were a few wash-outs to contend with. (Orbost Tourist Information Centre have a brochure and map about riding into the Falls - 22.7km loop) The Falls were peaceful and trickling through today. The picnic area was also very quiet. Thanks daig for setting up and maintaining this cache - a nice place to visit.PS: The Troll Dolls [TN6TR0] were with me on my great caching adventures today.
Found It!A nice little walk and a quick find once I got to GZ. No one else in this park today.TFTC
We could.find it, the hint was helping. Thanks for showing us this great area and the Cache. Greetings from Reki
A quick find with d@geo.
Had plans for this cache for a little while so when the idea of a day out was expressed we immediately made plans to head bush. A pleasant walk to the lookout then on to the cache and continuing on down to the base of the falls.

Found with mezza74 in celebration of Blue Switch Day. Ran out of time on an earlier trip to Raymond Creek Falls for the side trip so made it our destination for the day.
We made a quick find of the cache then continued onto the bottom of the falls. Had the idea to rock hop over to the other side of the creek for a better view but thought twice having the premonition that I would end up bruised, wet and red faced if I was to slip and ended in the creek (yep that has happened before)
Thanks daig

Found on Thursday 11/11/21 but forgot to log until now.. oops! Awesome little hide, took a while to locate as the GPS was all over the place, but it was exactly where you’d expect it to be! Awesome little spot, nice walk to the dam nearby. Didn’t see anyone while we were here. Thanks for the cache!
Fantastic view, we timed our arrival just after heavy rain, the fall were flowing. Nice easy find tftc
Out beyond the reach of mobile phone towers, an amazing cache, so full of life. My GPS told me it was much further off the path than it was, but the cachevspoke to me (was it lonely?). Tftc
We decided to head to Orbost from where we were camped near the Errinundra National Park for fuel and groceries so once the chores were done, we dropped by here on the way back again. A pleasant walk to the lookout and then down to the base of the falls.

With just a trickle of water flowing, it was enough to make a sound which was good enough for me. Thanks heaps for the cache. All looks to be in good order.
Parked at the Picnic Ground and we walked in to GZ, got a surprise the cache wasn't where I half expected it to be, but we continued on and soon had it in hand. All good with the log and contents.
Thanks daig for the placement here.
*** Interesting to see a Lyrebird walking along the track ahead of us as we walked out, we followed it for about 30m before it went bush. Then after we drove out onto the Bonang Rd heading towards Orbost, another one ran across the road, our third Lyrebird for the day.
Thanks daig for the placement here.

Today I made my way from near Orbost to Thredbo, picking up a few selected caches along the way. The main objective today was to find caches in each of the LGA’s and the road atlas map pages that I was near.
I camped not far away from this one last night and I enjoyed the short stroll down to the cache this morning. It was a quick find with the good hint.
Thanks daig for the cache.

No water flowing here today, but a lovely area. Thanks for bringing us here daig.
Found about 16 metres from where our GPS wanted us to look but exactly where the hint said it would be.
Can someone please move trackable "Holly Saints" please. TB is stuck here for nearly a year now.
The dragons and bears are all together as it is uni holidays, and the young one has returned. Also have the muggle "pa" in tow for the day. Visited the picnic area here many years ago as the young dragon's first expedition to the bush. The area is a bit more refined now with clear walking tracks and an observation deck no less. Also the way to the base of the falls is a bit safer nowadays.
After visiting the falls, and the mandatory photographs, we pressed on, and the cache was soon in hand, the university student picking the hideout quickly as we approached. Cache was to hand, explanations to muggle "pa" as to how it all worked, and the log signed. Dropped off TB to hopefully keep it moving.
Replaced cache and continued our explorations.

Nice hide tftc! Took me a while to find this one, GPS on phone was bugging out! Very nice area, stopped for 5 minutes to look at the falls. Cache in good condition, nice and dry
After a long drive along some tracks, did come across a carpark and toilets, now for the short walk, uphill and down, around trees till I came to a lookout, very nice, but not much water running, so this is not why I am here, better go where the GPSr points, and lo and behold a nice cache, still contains much of the original contents, thank you for the opportunity of finding this, I would not come without Cahing, Thanks daig, a good experience all round

Today we explored Orbost and surrounds using geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. An easy find, enjoyed the walk to the top and bottom of the falls. Left TB.

Love this little spot. Lots of family friendly walks. We left knuckles. He is our first trackable GJ43Z . I hope he gets found soon.
Brilliant location we had heaps of fun along the walking track and my geokid is super excited about his helicopter find.
Loved the falls they were really foamy today.

Found on a wet afternoon... got out while there was a break in the rain. Found with Rojopo.
Fav for the location and the snakes and dragons in the area but no cache even with the clue!!!!!
Found this one today after a late start due to the atrocious weather today. This was a relatively easy find (once I negotiated the tracks/rds in my 2wd car!). Very peaceful place even at night. Because of the weather the falls were running hard but I could hear them rather than see them tonight. Signed log but didn't swap anything.
Thanks for the cache daig and for introducing me to a place I wouldn't have otherwise found.

Lost signal before parking, so tried a few likely spots. Luck was on my side today. Great spot to visit. Thanks.
There was some water coming over the falls, but the rain coming down made it a slightly annoying trek along a seemingly disused and neglected path! A quick find once we got there. Thanks for the cache.
We are staying at the Orbost caravan park and once we got our settled we headed off to find a few caches. This was one we targetted and found. Thanks to daig.
The title actually says it all - it is a lovely spot. Unfortunately, there wasn't much water in the stream. An easy find along a very pretty track, with misschief18

Found with taurus1955 and BentleyTB. Enjoyed the walk to the lookout, but a few trees across the path made it more difficult after that. Fortunately it wasn't too far to walk. Not a lot of water-would like to see it during the winter time. Left friendship braid. TFTC
Kids and the dog enjoyed nice walk no swaps Cache still in good condition TFTC
I was in Orbost for work this afternoon.
As soon as I had finished, I went looking for this one! I had been eyeing this one for awhile but never really got around to doing it.
I drove out to the picnic area and parked and went for the short walk to the cache.
There are a few trees down from the recent storm but the DSE have been in and started the clean up.
I'm going to come back in summer and check it out again, and do the picnic thing.
The cache is good condition I signed the log. and replaced it in its hide. Hopefuly it wont be to long between finds

Quick find, thanks for bringing me here. Interesting that there was more flammable materials on the side of the track that was burnt last year. Followed footprints as somebody had been their earlier in the day saying they didn't need the coords. TFTC TNLN
Well well well, was this one too easy or what?? I came to the location for fourwheel driving using Roof Top maps. We came across this park and decided to go and check this location out.. We then decided to check out the rest of the walking track out of interest to see where it led and I took one glance at a certian spot and thought.. Hang on wonder if there is a geocache hidden there!.. Surely enough there was.. No Co-Ordinates, no GPS, not even looking for a cache..
Logged the book. with SDM Geo..,
No swaps.
Thanks

Coast 11.3. One of a few offroad tracks I should have left alone. I missed the right track first time but eventually found the right way to the picnic area, there was even a sign ! Anyway a good little walk and a cache that was not too hard to find in the bush. Thanks.

This seems like a popular area! A great spot for a camp. Took the short stroll to GZ just as a bit of drizzle was coming down. Our GPS was not settling down, but thanks to the detailed 'hint' the cache was in hand in no time.

Headed off from where I parked the car and managed to select the correct path to take. Cache located and the log was signed quickly because there were plenty of the little blood sucking dive bombers attacking any skin that was exposed. Once I began the return trip they seemed to disappear, stopped on the viewing platform but no waterfall to be seen, no water for that matter.
Called in here after taking a break with Martin. Took Storers track from the Bonang. The roadbike is part dirtbike. (not really). Short walk from parking area to viewing platform. Not much water today, unlike a few rivers I've crossed the last few days. Off to GZ for a nice easy find. No swappies with me today. TNLN Thanks daig for this cache.
We pulled up next to an interesting piece of machinery and after having a bit of a sticky at that we headed off towards gz. We got to the viewing platform and with still nearly 80 meters to go we took in the sights for a little while and then back tracked a little and headed off in the right direction. The GPSr led us directly to the cache location for a nice easy find
Thanks daig for a pleasant afternoon wander

It had been wet for days but the falls were not running. Shows how dry it had been. Took the pinball game left Simpson
Came in the "back way" on our way from "Raymond watch your step." Another lovely spot. East Gippsland has some great spots to visit. A trickle of water was running over the waterfall from the recent rain. Would be spectacular after heavy rain.
GPS had GZ about 11 metres out, but the clues led us quickly to the site.
Left a plastic spider, Took a large marble and signed log

Just missed the morning movers. Really surprised to see such a construction out here. It would improve with an overflow of water. Incurred servere damage to tyre on the track on the way out, so no more caching for us for the day.
1025 Pleasant little area - pity there isn't much water but the location is unique nontheless. TFTC daig
Found at 11.35am GAFF1. A slight detour on our way to do "Have a break with Martin" and then onto McKillops Bridge. We enjoyed the short walk on a very still day and noted that there was not much water in the creek. We were then met by a couple of CFA blokes telling us that they were doing some burning off to protect Orbost. Thanks for the diversion.
We approached from an alternative route and after a splendid drive through the forest were thwarted by a fallen tree 1.8 km from GZ! After backtracking and preparing to head home we tried once more from a different approach and were successful. My sister is visiting from the UK and loved the environment. Another convert to geocaching!
A beaut spot in behind orbost while visiting a mate downing some owl work on the coast. These falls are great and a great spot for a cache.

Enjoyed the pleasant stroll to this cache. The GPS had a few issues on the way, must have been a bad day for satellites. The creek was just trickling, although I'm not sure that the dribbling action that was happening at the falls was really 'falling'!
Dropped in Snuggle Koala the TB for a stay here. Thanks daig for bringing me to this pleasant location.

I think I found a back way in but got there nontheless. Then the pleasant stroll through the forest to see the creek, and find an easy to locate cache. On the way out I went to try what may have been an easier way only to find a log over the road about 100m from the car park. It should be gone by now. Thanks for the cache.
Eldest son made the find and was rather pleased with himself. Our list of animals seen for the day was increased when we saw a lizard and some kind of bird of prey attacking a dead wombat. Would also like to see the falls running.

Found by Mary & David at 0815. Stayed in Orbost overnight so we could get an early start. Several wallabies watched us after we left the main road. Still some deep, unconnected pools and, from the observation deck, saw some ripples that turned out to be tortoises. Will have to come back when the falls are actually falling. Most enjoyable place that we would never have discovered without caching. Took pegs, left craft dough. Our thanks to daig.
I probably didn't take the right track in, but I made it without a worry. After a short walk, and a very short search the cache was mine. No swap was made. Unfortunately, there was no water in the falls, but I imagine they would be worth a visit. Thanks for the cache, and for introducing me to the area.
Found on 12/10/06 @ 10:30
Well we obviously did not take the recommended track to get here. It's a good thing we drive an equipped 'cruiser because we had to clear the track of fallen trees to get to this beautiful and peaceful spot.

T & Little DragonFoot rounded off their holiday caching day with the nephews with this last cache and a picnic (since it’s a lovely picnic area). Little DragonFoot fell asleep in the car, so T stayed behind with him to set up the food and drink. The nephews ploughed on ahead and had it cached within no time. They even did swaps for Little DragonFoot.

Would have been quicker to find if I had entered the correct co-ords in, my mistake, but remembered the clue. A good hiding spot. Found cache. Signed log. Took a crazy blue dog and left a tree frog keyring. Not much to the falls this time but after a bit of rain they do flow better. Sydmick
