There is a caching event today, well why not make a full caching day out of it with a bit of shopping included. I started the day by telling work that I wasn’t available at all and then I decided on where I wanted to cache. Well seeing how I have found the caches North, South and Central areas around ‘The Rock’, I decided on heading East this time and finding some of the historic caches around Livingstone National Park. TB visit on all found caches today. I would like to thank all CO’s for the caches I found and for the fun I had while finding them.
Today’s totals:
17 Finds (1 Event, 14 GC and 2 GCA)
1 DNF
My only DNF of the day. I am not sure where or what I was meant to be looking for but looking at the photos from past logs and from people who took photos while at the nearby shooting range, it appears that the area has changed a lot since the placing of the cache.

In the area today with [@AngusnmumyAdventures](http://coord.info/PRRD6GG) we searched for the cache that was in the area. search here and there, high and low. Looked all around the new fence and the old.
This is a very small cache but it can not be that impossible to find. Maybe it needs to be checked where the new fence has been put up, we had many eyes looking for it and none could find it. Oh dear where can it be.
Thanks for this Cache greyhound, Lil Donna

DNF - Hummm, not sure if im blind or a combination of right place wrong time, The nearby BANG BANG BANG and watchful eyes made this a difficult one to seek. Maybe next time I wont go on a Shoot day... Lol
Near one of my favourite past times. I was not sure about the terrain but made it. Such a tiny cache. Thanks
4937. Found with Relish64. A quick stop over on our way to visit folks out near Narrandera. A bit of a detour from our normal route and, surprisingly, a nice quick and easy find. No loud noises here this afternoon.
Thanks for the cache and the fun.
Thanks for the cache and the fun.
This was the tenth cache of the day for the FANTZ team. I was looking in totally the wrong spot when Noikmeister called out that he'd found it.
The nearby facility reminded me of home, where there are several such facilities just around the corner.

A mini posse comprising Fox in Jox, Noikmeister, TikvaNZ, ZQX and I headed south on a wet Saturday to grab the 9 tree climb caches at Walla Walla and few more around Wagga Wagga on our way north again. We had a selection of preferred DT and puzzle caches in mind. We did not find all of them, but we had great time anyway. I ended up with 3 DT caches I wanted for the day. We signed the logs as FANTZ to save time and log paper!
After deciding discretion was the better part of valour on the previous cache, this one was a long drive but a quick find at 1425 to make number 10 for the day. It could have taken much longer as three of the group started searching an obvious candidate. but NM and I followed the coordinates found the nearest object and inspected it. To my delight, I managed to spot the sneaky blighter rather quickly - it does fit in well with its surroundings. Another DT crossed off, thanks greyhound05.

Team FANTZ (Fox in Jox, AngelG27, Noikmeister, TikvaNZ & ZQX) undertook a road-trip from the ACT for the day to collect the series of nine tree climbs in Walla Walla and several puzzles and trads in and around Wagga Wagga. A fun and successful outing.
Having found our tree-climbing series over a span of an hour and a half, it took another three hours to get a 'find' on this. Yes, we had to drive. Yes, we had to stop off at the Culcairn bakery for delicious pies and coffee. But the time was taken getting ourselves out of a bog, attempting to drive to another cache. Recent rains meant that a 4x4 track had filled with water in places. My car managed to slide into a nice rut, which required extraction using the other car and a cache that we wisely chose not to pursue.
Rifle ranges - I remember those. Spent some time on them whilst in the Army many moons ago. But this cache didn't require any weaponry, other than the keen eyes of AngelG27, who spotted the container, along with Noikmeister, while ZQX, TikvaNZ and I were searching another likely looking spot. Happy to get this D/T rating. TFTC greyhound05

Well this certainly was an easy cache! Not too sure about the terrain rating. I think its probably 2 starts too high. Unless you count the nearby shooters as terrain!

Today's caching mission with Fox in Jox, AngelG27, Noikmeister and ZQX had been in the planning for a while, with the aim to collect a bevy of high difficulty/terrain caches to fill some holes in our respective D/T grids. We left Canberra just after 0630, arriving in Walla Walla just after 1000. We had some rain on the way but all was clear by the time we started caching. After finishing the tree climb series we headed towards Wagga Wagga and stopped off here for a relatively quick find. Signed as FANTZ. TFTC

This one has a D T combo we don't often see so we detoured over to see if we could make the find. We drove on down and the 2WD had no problems. We got to near GZ and then wondered where the cache was as there was some temporary fencing up so got the GPSr out and jumped one fence to get to the right location and soon made the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Enjoyed drive the car in the country to scene and lovely country area - signed the log. Thanks greyhound05.
Found on a drizzly but fun day out caching. The 4WD geojalopy was useful. TFTC.
We have left Our caravan at Yerong Creek & taken a drive out along the country roads searching for caches.
An interesting drive which also took us 4x4 in the forest.
We were glad to find this it will fill a square in our grid

Quick but nice find on a trip around the riverina country side. Attemped to venture further into the rnage but after 500m decided my car wasn't up to the challenge. Looks like this will be the last for today. TFTC
#87 the total is slowly gorwing toward the 100 mark but this one is near other caches and didn't have the time i thought i would and with some trails closed it could be best left for a wile to come back to this area.
Thanks greyhound05 for a great location and a very easy find especially with the hint.

It would've been an easy day if the gun club hadn't been operating this morning! We couldn't really look inconspicuous for very long and didn't find the cache in the short amount of time we had before people started noticing.
Found while out on a caching day to The Rock and around.Nice easy find in a lovely area. There has been a fencing put up due to revegetation in that spot which means to get the cache you need to climb through.Dont get caught $3000 fine.

this had us stumped for a while - I think because we are used to the tricky ones and when we get a cache in plain view we don't see it. Another one ticked.
4/13 A nice quick find by geodad to finish our South-North camping trip thru the park. TFTC
Well it was muggle central across from GZ, but we parked the 4wds for best coverage & deployed the boys & geokid for a "pitstop".
The muggles were far too busy to worry bout what we were up to.........and it would be unlikely they would find the little sucker!
Many thanks for bringing us out this way. TNLN SL.

#1050 @ 8.30pm. After completing another cache on this dirt track we thought that the track was in good enough condition to navigate the NinjaGolf down - half way along we were having 2nd thoughts!! Nevertheless some careful driving and good wheel placement got us to GZ which we had to ourselves at this time of day. A short stroll & great co-ords had the cache in hand quickly before twilight set in & torches needed to be deployed. TNLNSL TFRC grehound05. We would recommend a vehicle of higher clearance than a VW but more power to you if you get to GZ....we made it
Got out there this afternoon to find muggle central. A young group of family muggles were sitting by a large campfire just inside the park entrance... wingnuts. Also, where the GPS points to, is all fenced off in a regeneration protected area. Might be a long while before this comes back online and able to be accessed. I will be back out there another day at least as I needed to know where the range was for future endeavours.

When planning a bit of a day trip to the south of Wagga during the Mega Event, I was mainly interested in caches the wouldn't pose too many problems - and this one, with a terrain rating of 4, didn't really fit into that mould. Still, from the map the track didn't look too bad and, in fact, I did it in 3rd gear all the way. If anything, it's the difficulty rating that probably should be higher as it's a pretty small cache - yet positioned such that it's a pretty easy find, so that's all good. The biggest difficulty was getting the log in and out .
Thanks greyhound05 - I'd like to see more of this park some time.

This is as far as I went in this NP. There were trail bikers ripping around on the track through the park so gave them the right of way. An easy find with a perplexing terrain rating but it will look good on the mantle piece, thanks.
Found during the Mega Event in the company of Team_Ninja and Last of the Time Lords
Great little 4x4 playground, although christened the new car with scratched and a nasty dint in the exhaust!

Well it was an easy day for Feathertop and I. None of the dramas of the Farmers5! It was a beautiful day and an easy find too so most enjoyable all round for us thanks greyhound05.
This cache was as easy as it says it is with close parking, no one about for miles and a couple of pairs of sharp eyes.
Thanks
Thanks
With 4 star terrain I was expecting to park a kilometre away and hike in. We just kept driving and driving and eventually managed to park right next to the cache. No need for a hint, the cache is pretty simple. The log book is starting to wear and was quite difficult to put back in, but I think I managed in the end. No shooters here today either.

What a drama this cache has been.Four months ago got to GZ,found nothing so thought had the wrong co-ords.Today same place but an easy find amongst heavy gunshot blasts nearby.
On returning to the white cache-mobile,the electronics decided to pack it in .Two mobile phones couldnt get reception and what a place to be broken down,at Livingstone Forest.
The blonde Mrs Farmer used her charm and wandered in amongst the burly shooters, and a kind small bearded man had a phone with coverage in the area to make a call to NRMA.He came to the aid and also new about geocaching.Call out fee by NRMA,join up and tow-back...$ 320.and in a waiting hold for hours...great!!!
Mrs Farmer then decided to use her charm and chat up a group of Canadian motor-bike riders returning out of the hills to the back of their "tray-backs"and use the sympathy approach and ask for a tow back to Wagga. After then finding a tow rope from a nuggety shooter filling up with more ammo who lived in Wagga ,we talked our way into a slow tow back to Wagga at 50 kph!The rope then snapped at the driveway entrance ,a new one was bought and returned to the shooter in Wagga and we were very grateful for the Canadian motocross rider who came to the aid.Twice we have tried for the Livingstone caches and cant get past the entrance!!
The "what an easy day" cache has been anything but that so far but it least its found.
Thanks to greyhound 05.Wheres a mobile phone tower when you need one??

Yes it has been an easy day, touring the rural roads south of Wagga Wagga. I managed to fit in a lazy stroll up a nearby rock too
Arriving at GZ I was greeted by the local wildlife that inhabit the National Park.
A group of four very friendly 'native' goats [:o]
I had to be quick finding the cache and filling in the log book, they looked like they were going to start eating bits of the geomobile
Now to find a nice camping spot

Find 8/13 today.
Dunno why this has a terrain rating of 4?? Maybe 2 would be sufficient.
Almost missed this one. Left the GPS in car thinking "I see where it will be" and promptly walked over with a mobile phone in hand for disguise (as there were shooters at the range getting ready to leave in the car park) and overlooked it. Returned to the car and grabbed the GPS and relised I had been standing right in front of it the first time.
First time I have come across one of these containers. Must get me some of these

Found at 1145. On arrival to GZ, the gun club were out in full force, although they seemed to bothered with what was going on in front of the range. For a drive by cache in a 2WD, the terrain rating is way to high. Cache blends in well though. Simple but elegant.

Took us a little bit to find this one and then found easily by a the last team member to get the site. Thank you for the cache
Nice and easy for a micro. The terrain rating would have been correct at the time of placement. The road was attrocious, Wagga City Council would not fix it neither would the NP&WS who use the road to access Livingstone National Park. The road was repaired by the Wagga branch of the SSAA at their expense. A big thank you to them.
Found by Mary & David at 1220. Great views across to the hills. The terrain rating is 2 or 3 stars too high, as there is a good dirt road right to GZ, which is pretty flat. Our thanks to greyhound05.
It must have been an easy day as we did this 14 minutes after the last cache! The Girls took this one out! Cache #11, Thanx for the stop, we love Micros!
Whew. I need to take notes of cache descriptions instead of only downloading waypoint files. I didn't know this one is a microcache and didn't have my specs with me, lol! Fortunately, my eagle-eyed BF spotted it.

I'm not sure why this has a terrain rating of 4, but the difficulty rating of 1 is about right. If you can't find it, you either need glasses or a better GPS. Thanks for the cache.
