Found a pen hanging in the tree that helped narrow down where to look and spotted the cache soon after.

Started the day around the fire having a chat to those that were up about plans for the day.
Packed up camp and hit the road with our main target being the Earthcache in Meckering.
We grabbed a few more along our way home before crashing out on the couch with the kids.
A nice relaxing day today ended with 5 finds and 1 lab location completed.

Thanks ZED! for placing this cache for me to find, this is find number 3391 for me.

Destination Minnivale and what has become a tradition of sorts... BYO Marshmallows number V. Some fun with friends around a camp fire sharing some drinks, some hint, some tall stories and plenty of laughs.
Off to an early start from Perth with Kyzabra, Granett and I meeting at Mundaring to form our convoy.
The plan today is to make our way to our camp grounds for the next two nights arriving in mid afternoon, all the while picking up caches along the way, this being one of them.

Time for another Marshmallows event so the majority of the FOTT made the trip to Minnivale.
Friday made for a mini road trip grabbing caches on the way. This was one.
Not much left of this one but our names are in the log.
Always on the hunt for archived caches and spotted this on my list. Happy to say came up trumps and made a fine.
Many thanks to ZED! for placing and maintaining Rusty. I was here at 1:14 pm on Friday and this is my find 9634.

On the way out to Minnivale for the BYO Marshmallows event ([GC9G5TP](https://coord.info/GC9G5TP)) tomorrow night we had a plan of sorts to grab a few smilies along the way. Kyzabra, Allied Oz and myself made it a three car convey.

Quick find here on the drive home. Nice to see some of these archived caches still viable, although this was full of water, but log signed TFTC

Great to find an archived cache here!
This weekend has been some time in the planning and we were heading up this way to drive the Wheatbelt Way Trail and collect geocaches along the route. We also had GCA caches, Waymarks and Sighters on the radar which should break up the trip nicely. We had no set plans for accommodation and we decided that we would see where we ended up each day to set up camp. This cache was one that we targeted on our mini adventure. Cheers and TFTC.
G’day there ZED!, I was in this area today and found your cache Rusty GCX82D. I added my name to the log book at 8:31 am on 28 September 2019. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!
This cache find brings our total find count to 10958. Woohoo!!

Made a quick find of this archived cache. Sadly it is water logged but still there to be found.
On a little road trip gathering some LGAs.
TFTC ZED! this is find # 6936 for us.

Good Friday sees me heading into the northern wheatbelt to clear out a few caches and cross off another 5 LGAs.
Headed out early and headed for Goomalling for the first stop. Then headed further north.
Last one for the day before heading for Home. Love a good archived cache. This one is still in pretty good condition

Well it’s now day 16 of our LGA gathering plus just basic enjoyment trip with m4yb, Jonathan the camper trailer and Max the GeoUte.
Trying stay incognito with a muggles council worker mowing the lawn was tricky but we did it. Another one to the list.
Thanks for the smiley ZEDI.

Day 16 of our Adventure to the northern Goldfields and now in the Wheatbelt. Today we said goodbye to our neigh-bours on the farm at Wyalkatchem and heading West.
I noticed this archived cache last night so we stopped on the way through. Made a quick find and the bush gave cover from the mowing muggle’s eyes. Can see that the cache was wet at one stage but dry now including the log. TFTC!

Avoiding the rain in Perth we headed out for a day trip around the wheatbelt... Dowerin was our next destination & as we had already found all the other caches around town, we decided to hunt this one down
Jase made a quick find here, despite trying to keep his feet dry as GZ was surrounded by water It seems that the cache would have been underwater recently but we could still add our name to the log... We would have cleaned out the cache a little but it was pouring with rain & we had to race back to the car! TFTC ZED!

Well talk about a delay in logging! Time has just flown by since I undertook this awesome LGA weekend with PommieParkin. Due to the delay, you will have to excuse the generic log.
PP2 enquired as to whether I would like to go on an adventure to get some more LGA's under our belts, to which I said of course! Set out on the Saturday to head up into the Wheatbelt for the weekend. We first stopped at Northam to do one or two of the Bristag caches I had heard so much good things about. Unfortunately we only managed one, but it did not disappoint!
From there we headed east through Meckering, Cunderdin and Tammin (knocking off a couple of LGA's). From there, we headed north to Wyalkatchem, stopping at a couple of interesting places for caches. I particularly enjoyed the stop at Yorkrakine Rock, it was such a beautiful spot.
We finally reached Wylie, where we were staying the night. Before the day was over we completed the wonderful series by WebblyWA, which gave us a great tour of the town. Once the caching was over, we met up with WebblyWA at night and had the pleasure to experience a drive-in cinema in Koorda, which was conveniently another LGA
On the Sunday, we finished off the caches we had on our list in Wylie and headed west towards Dowerin, where WebblyWA had another series. It was another great series and the final ended up being my 1000th cache found!
From there, we kept heading west to Goomalling for another LGA. This was where our LGA hunt was meant to stop. But, it was here that the LGA bug got to me and it became a case of "well if we just travel half an hour this way, we can get another LGA". So after little time spent convincing PP2, we headed north to Wongan Hills, stopping in Konnongorring for some great views at Gabby Quoi Quoi. Unfortunately, Wongan Hills cemetery was where we had our first DNF of the weekend, meaning our hopes of another LGA were riding on the one other cache in town. Luckily it was an easy enough find.
We then headed west towards Calingiri for one last LGA, stopping to admire Lake Ninan on the way (can't believe there isn't a cache there!). The cache in Calingiri was found, putting my total of LGA's found on the weekend to 8.
I had such an awesome weekend exploring this part of our great state. Many thanks go to the various CO's of the caches. But, I would particularly like to thank PP2 for suggesting the weekend, WebblyWA for some great series and Kyzabra for coming up with the LGA challenge, without which I probably wouldn't have explored this great area.

WebblyWA put us on to a couple of Archived caches around this way so we thought we would give them a go. TFTC
Mentioned to muggle the other day that I needed three more LGAs to reach 90 to complete a challenge so he devised a route for us to go so I could get a few more. I added to the route so after 1350km in total and 36hrs return trip back home to Bunbury I got 16 LGAs all up which I'm happy with and 35 cache finds
Yesterdays travel was Bunbury to Pingelly, Quairading, Bruce Rock, Narembeen, Merredin, Carrabin, Moorine Rock and back to Merredin to recouperate
After getting back into town after caching last night at 9.50pm and a not so comfy sleep in one of the local motels it was up and earlyish start for the morning as today is Nungarin, Kununoppin, Mukinbudin, Welbungin, Bencubbin, Koorda, Trayning (an extra I added at the last moment), Wyalkatchem, Dowerin, Goomalling, Northam, Greenmount and back to Bunbury
Can't wait to travel todays towns again but next time spend some time looking around the towns and going to the museums
I have never been to any of these todays wheatbelt towns (those listed prior to Goomalling) before so thoroughly enjoyed our 'for now' quick visit
Another town and a few more caches to find. Like Wylie we aren't planning to find all here, just after a few for now and we will be back another time to find the rest.
And also like the Welcome to Wylie cache I had forgot to download that one, these few here and the Goomalling caches to my gps so lucky I have my typed sheet to grab co-ords off for a waypoint to hopefully head me in the right direction.
Muggle headed around to the correct side of the bush and found the cache uncovered and at the edge of the shrub . Lid was off but contents were still there including log book. SL and replaced it back under the sticks hoping it will still be there for a while to come.
TFTC ZED!

Well what a surprise hiding a cache so close to this archived one.
Stopping past this time I snuck over to GZ and made the find. Unfortunately the poor cache was almost full of water.
I poured it out and signed the soggly log with my trusty tank pen, (a must have for geocaching)
Thanks ZED, such a shame to see all these archived caches about but what can you do.

Was up at the farm and placing some caches in Dowerin so decided to give this one a go. Was an easy find log book is damp, still managed to get a signature on it though. TFTC Zed! While the caches are still there we will still hunt as there are still limited options out this way.
TFTC! Found on a day trip to the Wheatbelt to grab a bunch of caches and enjoy the countryside. At a quick look; around 12hrs driving for 900km, 29 finds, couple of DNFs.
Was a great day out, attended wyalcatchems first geocaching event, found a bunch of archived caches that were still in place and mostly in good condition. Saw some wonderful sights (see pics in logs). Thanks to all the COs.
Log book saturated dried out as best possible

A quick find on the way to Dally for Hockey. Also went to Dingo Rock. TFTC We are now in Perth for the school holidays, so maybe these were ZED!s last caches we managed to get. A shame they will be gone soon - they bring you places. We will try to go to the other places too. Copied all the information. It's worth going there even without cache. One day we will put our own down (Kevin is really keen) and we might choose some of these spots.
Last Call!
This Geocache will be permanently archived in July.
Thank You to all who have enjoyed my tour of the Wheatbelt.

Easy find as we stopped to pat the Tin Dog and let our dog stretch her legs. TFTC!!
Very excited for the first time here. FYI Box needs to be changed due to can't close the lid properly. Thanks
Second day of my loop through the wheatbelt. Found this one at 14:15 today. TNLNSL TFTC
Visiting family in Dowerin and couldn't believe a geocache was waiting here to be found. Family had no idea this was in their very own town and the locals thought they knew everything!.
Found. Full of water! Log books dry. Drained and dried as much as possible. TFTC. Needs new container lid not sealing.
I love the dog. Far From Grey did a great job, new log new bag, but lid is the problem. TNLN
Last comments where correct it didn't make the last rain. Spent some time drying it out put in some new toys and a log book. Also tried to cover cache with some protection. Requires a new container, there are some items near by that could house a cache and give water protection. Just a thought when fixing. TFTC. And good dog owner no dropping.

(Chwiliwr team catch up log)We had planned a trip out into the SW but unfortunately it couldn't happen as planned so decided to take a drive out this way instead. Was a quick find here also but the lid doesn't seal any more so the container might not last much longer. Contents were OK.Thanks ZED! for the cache.

Found on our drive heading to Merriden. Container lid broken and did not have replacement. Tftc
Here for weekend, daughter wanted to locate this one while in town thanks nice one!
Put a new logbook and pen in. Container does not seal well. Lid was off and contents visible. Left toy car.
An easy find after a number of nanos on machinery. There was no logbook and we didn't have one with us. Signed a piece of paper in the box and replaced the cache.
Couldn't write my name as there's no log book. Contents are damp. Didn't take or leave anything but happy to find it thanks
Already has a "needs Maintenance", so won't repeat it... but...
Contents, minus log book, were spread out around the ground. Packed it all back, up, box is broken a bit too, re-hid as best we could. Had forgotten to pack spare notebooks before setting out....

I was out this way for work today so used the opportunity to collect a local cache, of course. TFTC
As we approached the railway crossing lights were on red and we could see the train ahead; however it didn't move and we realised it was loading wheat. On looking through the rear view mirror it was noticed another vehicle was waiting, so quite a few people probably get caught by this situation.
It took a couple of circuits before we spotted this. TFTC ZED!

Found this a while ago with my son as our first ever geocaches find!!! He loved it! Have lived in Dowerin all my life and just found about geocaching - I think I could get hooked!

Great cache, great town. thanks for the cache found pretty easy. Cache needs filling its pretty empty. Left key and badge took nothing.
Still bimbling around out in the Wheatbelt with The Machman although now we are definitely heading towards home.
We liked Rusty alot. Very cute and certainly represents the town well.
Looking forward to meeting some other cachers at the July Event - WA goes BIG in 2013 - GC45X55

On a weekend Camping trip, heading East to the Goldfields with the Felix duo, hoping to fill in some gaps on the "The Well-Travelled and Aged Cacher Challenge". (GC3TR3M).
Ended up traveling over 1500Km over three days, so a fantastic road trip.
I like the Tin-Rusty a lot.... great initiative.... will get a lot of people to stop in your town.
Straight forward find on the cache.
Cheers for bringing us here, alot of fun.

Found this cache at 11:00am heading for Kalgoolie and then across the Nullabor to home in the Southern Hoghlands of NSW. This is a fantastic statue of a dog. Made us feel homesick for our brown kelpie Coco.
It was a bit water logged around the bush but the cache is good and dry.
Left: small basketball, Christmas tree ornament and a dolly peg.
Thanks ZED for the hide.

An easy Find. The Cache was safe and dry which is not the case of the area around the Cache, The Rains that we had a few days ago have created a small lake with the Cache safely hidden in the middle. The Kids will love the walk through the water (It's not to deep) to retreive the Cache.

Found it and the stop probably saved us from some serious damage too, more about that later. It was just starting to rain as we pulled into the park area, I jumped out and raced over to find the cache whilst Ian took photos of Rusty. The cache wasn't as easy to spot as I had thought it might be, I was actually staring straight at it and still didn't see it! Then I did!
Log book signed and back to the Landcruiser it was Ian's turn to drive - fortunately, as he drove off he heard a clunking noise from the caravan and upon investigation found that the wheel nuts on one of the wheels were all very loose. There could have been a nasty accident had we not stopped at this cache so a huge thanks for stopping us. Yes, we do periodically check the nuts but in the rush to get from Karratha to Geraldton, collect the caravan and head over to Albury for the Mega the pressures had been checked but the wheel nuts hadn't. ekkk... a mistake we will not make again.

Well, from what I saw I can actually make two conclusions.
1. Muggled or
2. Judging by the fact the gap in the fork of the tree has opened slightly and now the crack goes rather deep, the container could have fallen further inside the tree.
Regardless, there's a new box at a new location with new(ish) contents. I say new(ish) because I also emptied the leftover contents of the now archived Shepherds Well into it.
Cheers and happy caching.

I noticed that this cache has been temporarily disabled for a period of time well in excess of the period of "a few weeks" as set out in the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other caches from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it (using the archive listing link in the upper right) so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location.
If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) within the next 30 days detailing when it will be replaced, so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

Economic constraints means I haven't been through this area for a while, I still don't know if it's even missing. It's no longer on the same side of the road anymore as the structure, after the last muggling it was moved to a forked tree near the carpark. Might email a local.
Looks like the council had cleaned up the area and the cache has gone.Rusty looks great. I,m back in the area towards the end of the month if you need more info.
Made short stop on the way home but could not find anything.
But Rusty is very interesting. Nice place for short break.
