Time to put this weekend into the done archives, until next year. Thanks to all who participated.
Many thanks to everyone who attended and for your kind words of a great weekend. I do offer my apologies for those who may have wanted some more difficult tracks but sometimes it is hard to cater for all levels of 4 wheel driving capabilities, however these trips are perfect opportunities for those with a 4wd to gain the experience to try more challenging tracks
The area we covered does offer some wonderful views and hidden locations that geocaching only reveals. I do plan to visit this area many more times during the coming months (bushfire season permitting) and if anyone would like to accompany us on further cache exploration feel free to drop a line or call.
Again many thanks to everyone who attended, it was a pleasure to lead, and a special thanks to Dicko and Fullonphil for you assistance, and a double thank you to Dicko for the service
Regards Mr.Coffee and the "goldrush" Clan.

Well, what a weekend!
Arriving at about 4:00 Friday with the Coffee’s and the Maccamob, we set about making beds and lighting the fire whilst the kids hit the river for a swim. In the morning it was a short drive across the river for Steph and then off to Bruntons Bridge for a quick remembrance day service.
Up past Happy go Lucky and into Wallhalla for lunch.
The afternoon saw us meandering uphill and down dale to the Thompson Dam wall and beyond to O,tooles Flat for the night.
A leisurely start to the Sunday where we waved goodbye to 4/8ths of the convoy as they headed further afield in search of riches and unfound treasures!
With the espresso machine and inverter finally packed away and with heads still buzzing from the fresh brewed coffee we mounted up and prepared to move out only to find that the steering had seized on the Red Dwarf! (It was fine when I left it the day before)
After troubleshooting for over an hour, I was contemplating the easiest route to a point where I could utilize my RACV Total Care coverage when I located the problem!
I reached forward, disengaged the front Diff Lock, and the symptoms vanished!!!
During pack-up, young Emily[:X] had been sitting in the drivers seat pushing buttons, pulling levers and pretending to drive the car, during this time she had activated the front air-locker making any sort of turn on a firm surface almost impossible!!!
Finally on the move and we’re off to Toombon to see the old mine.
Mmm, Deep hole! But a very interesting place
As the weather closed in the cover was hurriedly thrown onto the Red Dwarf, and with the rain pelting down and as we said goodbye to another vehicle it looked like the weekend was quickly drawing to a close.
All that was left to do was plant a cache and go home!... Yeah!... Right!...
The rain had cleared a little bit and the track down to the intended GZ area looked to be in reasonable condition….
At least it did until you were past the point of no return!
With Mr. Coffees voice a touch trembly and at least one octave higher than his last transmission, we were informed that there was a certain amount of slip in the wet surface,
As the Red Dwarf was already committed to continuing down the track we parked safely on a washaway and walked the down the rest of the track to assess the situation. With the track drying before our eyes due to the sun making a timely and quite pronounced arrival, the tyres on the “Coffee Pot†were let down to a much lower pressure and all vehicles were driven down the hill without further excitement.
At the base of the hill and with the hot sun now rapidly turning the wet ground back into dust it was time for a swim!...Who said the weekend was over???
You’ve just gotta love the Wallhalla weather!!!
Thanks Mr Coffee & clan for a wonderful weekend

Mary & David were there! What a marvellous weekend. Does it get any better than the sound of the many birds at dawn, the scent of gums and wattle, and great company? Mr Coffee and the Clan showed us new parts of our great State and put together a tremendous event for everyone. Great weather, sharing food and drinks round the fire, and trading stories during this latest camping experience for us as we constantly strive to take less and get our tent up and down more quickly. We are still learning about 4WD from the more experienced teams but now managing pretty well. Hilarity as always in the UHF chatter as we heard about the exploits of a wingless Rooster hightailing it down the slopes pursuing a pair of Bears and a Rhino. As on Anzac Day, it was Dicko who reminded us of our debt to the military with the flag and music as we celebrated our own special Remembrance Day Service then celebrated Luke's birthday. Our thanks to everyone who was there for creating yet another memorable Event. Particular thanks to Mr Coffee and the Clan for making it all happen.
I forgot to mention that we dropped in a couple of travel bugs for the weekend event; Yellow man to make us smile, & the Jeep 4WD to test out the tracks with us.
The jeep performed well.

One half of Team crackers had to work this weekend so Diane attended with fullonphill. We had a great time, catching up with old friends and enjoying great weather in fantastic countryside. Thanks to Mr coffee and the Clan for organising such a marvellous event, to Dicko for another moving service and to all attending for making it so enjoyable and last but not least Phill and Em for letting me tag along
Attended by Facitman from Friday to Sunday
Had a really great time on my first weekend event. Travelling in the Rhinomobile for the weekend we got to enjoy great scenery, great food and great company. It was particularly enjoyable to have a chance to speak to other cachers for more than the usual 5 minutes when accidentally meeting at a cache.
Particular thanks to Mr Coffee and the Coffee Clan for planning and hosting the event so well. Looking forward to the next event

Another great weekend of camping and 4WD in an area that we have visited many times before, and enjoyed exploring a little more thoroughly.
Thanks to Mr.Coffee and the Coffee Clan for a well organised event and congratulation for organising such great weather for it too
Also to Dicko for his service at the Eleventh hour of the eleventh day

Thankyou to Mr Coffee & the Coffe Clan for organizing a great 4WD event. With Chick 1 beside me, and a steep learning curve in front, we headed off for a very enjoyable day. A special thankyou to everyone who gave us support, technical hints, encouragement, and made us feel so welcome; It really was appreciated!
We wish we could have spent the night, & thought what a nice crowd to camp with for the evening. We had a great time & are both very much looking forward to the next one. Thankyou to the Coffee clan for providing the opportunity to learn, have fun, & mix with such nice people. Well done!
P.S. I'm taking Mother Hen & Chick 2 back there, perhaps after Chick 3 arrives.
P.P.S. Thankyou for the Rememberance day service. With this sort of effort & result, there is much hope for this great country of ours.

A fantastic weekend was enjoyed in great geocaching company exploring the tracks, historic sites, and caches around Walhalla . Though it seems we missed out on a final adventure at the end of the weekend
Many thanks to Mr Coffee & the Coffee Clan for organising a great event (though next time can we have a bit less dust?)

We arrived at the camp at 5.05pm and found that the Coffee's, maccamob and Dicko were already there setting up their tents. From that moment on it was just a wonderful relaxed experience with a few more teams arriving during the evening and making it another great event. The weather was kind to us, there were a few river crossings, some caching and lots of catching up. On Rememberence Day at around 11.00am Dicko raised the flag to half mast and reminded all of us the significance of the day. Thanks to all of the participants for making the time we spent on the trip another memorable one and thanks to the Coffee's for organising the event.
I am in the process of adding a few other things to this page, but just a reminder it may pay to carry drinking water as we dont know what the quality of the river is at this stage.
For those who may wish to join the convoy during the Saturday the plan is as follows:
We hope to leave Coopers Creek around 9.30/10.00am and head across the Thomson river to Bruntons Bridge S37.59.906 x 146.24.355. from there we will head up to Happy Go Lucky and follow the track back towards Walhalla. From this point we may either head up or backtrack to Britania Spur track.Mormontown track and head to the Walhalla road dam road junction S37.49.324 x E146.24.423. from there we will make our way to Merringtons and Toombon and camp at O’tooles Flat at S37.45.000 x E146.26.422. the trsck conditions are Dry and Firm with a good weather forecast for the district. We will be on Channel 15 UHF.

Doh!, must be my water logged ears . The Updated coordinates for the Campground is S37.58.862 x E146.25.455..Fear not your Leader as he has a passenger doing the Navigation and Wifes are never wrong until they say "you should have turned right back there"
Well half the recon was undertaken before the front drivers shocker decided it didn’t want to be a part of the days outing however the first part of the planned weekend has been successfully mapped out. A special thanks to Dicko for his welding expertise, unfortunately the Turbo could not be found or re-attached.
The turn of to Coopers Creek is S37.59.609 x E146.24.639 and the Updated coordinates of the Coopers Creek Campground is S37.59.609 x E146.24.639.
The Thomson is running high and to be sure it was crossable I decided to try the deepest part however after watching other vehicles there is a shallower alternative.
The tracks are in a good/reasonable condition and should prove a fun weekend, I hope to have the waypoints loaded to this page in the next couple of days.
Regards Mr.Coffee.

Doing a recon mission on Sunday the 5th (Can do Saturday instead) to also place a few caches in pre-planned-pre-averaged (last visit) coordinates. As Shelby is most likely not coming for the recon, anyone interested in coming along for a ride feel free to ring or e-mail me. I will also be finalising the Ozi/Discover Aus/Garmin waypoints and tracks for the weekend. I am also finalising the numbers and vehicles for the trip so if those attending could specify numbers and names that would be much appreciated.
Pyrenees Kid & Mikita both hope to attend, looking forward to meeting new freinds and old. (no pun intended):)
Ms Sassi was looking for a present for Fetch (HUBBIE) for Birthday I think I will wrap this one in maps for him. Born with 4WD in hand. Count us in.....
We are only a few weeks from the weekend and I still have a lot to do (maps, waypoints etc + a recon on the long weekend. At this stage I am trying to find out if you can access O’Tooles flat or O’Keefe from Merrington. If anyone has this knowledge in the meantime please let me know. More in the next few days.
It is great to see previous High country attendees coming along plus new cachers. The weather forecast at this stage is fine, hopeing for a fun weekend. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ring or e-mail.

Unfortunately we won't be able to attend this one as i will be performing reciprocated best man duties (ie best man for my best man) on the 12th. Enjoying myself so much that I forget to turn up to the wedding would be probably considered poor form...
Have fun, keep it safe, and take heaps photos and video so I can cry at what we missed out on later!!!!
Cheers

Work permitting, you can count us in. We had better go & purchase a few more of the needed goodies. Looking forward to it!
"S" has expressed at interest in attending but due to work commitments, he may be unavailable. I will confirm closer to the date if that's ok.
Would like to come...but don't have 4WD any more
Was contemplating borrowing a trail bike for this. I still have plenty of recovery gear sitting in my garage too! Anyone got a spare seat?

We expect to attend and are looking forward to the trip. Also a chance to finish off some of the caches that we left behind on our last trip!
The GeoSAAB would be less than ideal for such an event, but the recently acquired RhinoMobile will be ideal . I'll be there (along with Facitman if he can negotiate a Leave-Pass from Mrs.Facit )
Tank47 very interested will be 1 vehicle with driver and navigater, love that area. Willy will be a passenger.
Team Cracker's and Fullonphil will be there with two vehicles and possibly Vombatus in the passenger seat
