We were unable to locate this one today. Suspect its gone. Unfortunately we didnt have anything the right sort of size to replace it with. Great spot to visit. TFTH
Had a good look, nothing to see hereConvict cells were good to see, though, a nice piece of history
Thanks for the cache. This is one that I've driven past a couple of times in my geocaching life, and I've always been keen to stop and look for, as it's an oldie, and it highlights a bit of history that you would otherwise drive straight past.Today it was just me and the GeoGSP's with plenty of time on our hands, so definitely the day to stop and have a look. A nice quick find at GZ before then having a read and explore about the lock-up.
Big thanks to Caxixi for creating this cache! Your effort brought an extra spark of excitement to our geocaching quest. This discovery was find number 1,186 for us, marking another memorable moment in our adventure. Living and traveling full-time across Australia in our Coaster Bus, we're always on the lookout for caches to uncover. To see more of our travels, feel free to follow our journey HERE...
Thanks Caxixi for hiding this cache, I needed a find for today to update my calendar and find streak. This is my find #1474 at 10:02 on 29/3/2024.

Tasmania Trip Day 11. My last big day in Tasmania was the journey from Hobart to Launceston. Most of the day was highway driving, but there were two counties to visit before arriving. Even then I still had two more counties to the north and east of Launceston, and that took another three hours, which brought me back to my accommodation juts in time for a fairly late dinner for me. I then had to rearrange my car so stuff was ready for tomorrows boat trip and then it was off to mixed nights sleep with lots of noise from revelers outside the hotel. After a short look around the old building, I headed over to where the cache was and soon spied it in its nest for signing. Thanks for the cache Caxixi46069.6 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2006 December Signal A#61**Albida**
After a visit to Aladdins Cave where I picked up a couple of odd forks for my house on wheels, I headed out of town and pulled in here to find the cache. After checking out the old goal and finding the cache, I then discovered the fruit trees I wonder how old these trees are? The plums were ripe and rather tasty, the pears were very hard and the apples were like little miniatures.TFTC CaxixiKeep smiling
Easily spotted from the correct angle. An interesting place to stop. The hint is incorrect. TFTC
Called in to this cache on our drive around the country side. This was a quick and easy find when at GZ.TFTC
#718 ~ Found with Krossbo on our way East to visit one of our puppies who came to live in Tassie. TFTC Caxixi!!
Completed with Ricardinho Our first find & stop of the day. A cool wee town & this spot had some cool history. The only cache in town. Day 13 of our Tassie/Sydney trip & today is Launceston to Freycinet. A big travelling day for us so we left early. We wanted to check out St Helens & i wanted breakkie & a Chai from the Banjoe's in St Helens After this we headed to Bay of Fires to get an old cache for RNZ & then made our way down the east coast, stopping at any cool seaside towns along the way to Freycinet NP. A big day, but another awesome day!TFTC
We had got away from Launceston early, and this was our only cache stop before the east coast.Looks like a one cache town, but a nice place, although everything was shut when we came through as it was too early. A quick find at this historic little spot.TFTC Caxixi.Day 13 of our Tassie trip, Launceston to Freycinet. This was one of our biggest travelling days, and we went a bit of a long way.We were keen to check out St Helens, so made a beeline there the quickest way. From there, we got a great old cache up the coast, then hopped our way through some nice little towns down to Freycinet. Unfortunately wifi was out here and my cell coverage was also patchy, hence apologies for the late logs. Added some pictures from our day. Thanks all COs.
Good to be encouraged to stop and look at something you would normally just drive past, and learn something of the history the area.
Pretty straightforward find, and the cache is in good nick

Really liked this cache. I probably wouldn’t have stopped if it wasn’t for the cache. Just thinking about what the people went through…
Found the cache lying on the ground. Log signed and replaced where I thought it should go. TFTC
Found en route to Launceston. Wouldn’t fancy being locked up in that building. Greetings from Edinburgh. TFTC
We continued today our tour in Tasmania, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.
The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.
The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.
Thanks to Caxixi for the generation of this nice cache Fingal Lock-up (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.
PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.
Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

Was lying out in the open so replaced at GZ after reading about the Fingal Lock-Up…Tftc and Happy New Year from England!!
I guess this is where the pics in all those Tassie tour guide brochures are taken ...... or does Tasmania suffer from a plague of Peacocks?
Found with catnap777 on our Geocaching holiday toTassie doing what we love doing most. [:X]
After being chased South a little early by the weather, catnap777 and I just set up camp down there for a little while longer which suited us just fine. We had a lot of geocaching business down Hobart way, and as far south as you can go, but now that much of the water up north had subsided, it was time to head back up there via the East Coast on our way back to Devonport.
TFTC Caxixi.
Every cache we visited in Tassie added to the joys of our holiday adventure finding caches in every county on the main Island during our 10 day visit. [^]
This one sorted Break O'Day county for us. [^]

I have grouped this traditional cache generic log pertaining to each CO. I shall only deviate from the generic if there was an issue with the cache .
I would like to thank all of you for your time and effort in placing and maintaining your caches, and this generic log has nothing to do with disrespecting your time in placing them out there, as it has to do with time restraints due to the great number of caches my partner dalerious and I signed here.
EACH and every cache we visited was special, and we thank you so much. Most were chosen to qualify for Challenge caches both here and on the mainland .
There are too many of you to name individually so please accept that I acknowledge you all and I am truly grateful for your contribution and understanding .
We had this trip to Tasmania on our wish list very soon after we met. The meticulous planning began a few months ago when we finally set a date to sail to a place that I had been before, but never cached, and for dalerious, a place he cached, but never really got to see the real beauty of this place, and all it's glory. God's country about sums it up.
We started our adventure in the North West and traversed the entire Island in 10 days. We thought the weather was going to thwart our plans, but all it did was change the itinerary a tad.
Where back home was flooding, we had mostly sunshine here; apart from the North of your lovely state, and our thoughts were with those who were affected both here and at home.
Caches here took us to extraordinary places; one's we will never forget.
We also got to meet some cachers; we can't wait to meet the rest .

Found on our way back from the E coast. Thanks for the information on the history of this area . TFTC!
Being a nice day I decided to head to Mathinna and Fingal to get a few caches that have been on the hit list for quite some time. This was a quick find.
