Sigh, who'd be a volunteer spending time dealing to caches that haven't been maintained adequately for a number of years.

As you've indicated you do not intend to maintain this cache I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Regards,
Growly Bear

Haven't checked this for some time, and little inclination to do so.

Up for adoption if anyone local on the watchlist wants it.

Can offer documents on how the encryption is performed.

Guessing GC will kill it in due course otherwise.

24-Sep-16
Fairly pointless log by the GC reviewer recently, considering I put the same temporary disable on the cache myself almost 24 prior to him/her doing it. Wonder if the reviewer actually read the logs at all.

21-Sep-16
Not been found for over two years. Time for this to go.

Having solved this puzzle a while ago we visited GZ while in the area today. Still lots of rubbish around and no cache to be seen. Didn't really want to touch too much due to dog poo... Seeing as it hasn't been found for a long time could you please check and see if it's still there. Thanks

17-Apr-15
Plenty of rubbish at the final, but no sign of the cache... Sad

02-Dec-14
I was pretty happy with myself for working out the puzzle Very Happy but unfortunately no luck at the GZ. Had to wait around for 5-10mins for a couple to leave the area before moving in, spotted the likely area but no cache there.. widened the search area but still nope Sad It hasn't been found in awhile.. hope it's still there.

27-Jul-14
A quick solve a while ago, but struggled to find the cache on first attempt at GZ. Maybe I hadn't read the hint because it was very obviously in the right place today. TFTC !

27-Jul-14
Broadbridges mentioned he had solved the puzzle, so decided we would pay a visit today.
Didn't take long to solve it for myself.
Broadbridges wasn't too hopeful, having visited unsuccessfully before.
Up to me to crawl in and grab the cache straight away.

17.30 - Visiting from Cairns. Solved the puzzle a few days prior. Had some issues with the 'free translator' as it kept truncating the result .... Was in the area today for a dinner meeting with Mr + Mrs Outward Bound (thanks for a lovely time) and attempted to find this treasure. Almost missed it but persistence paid off in the end. +/-0. T4TC.

A quick find today after solving the puzzle ages ago, TFTC

03-Oct-13
Solved many months ago and could not spot the cache on a previous occasion. Brought extra eyes to help search but mum made the find in the obvious place. How did I miss this before? TFTP

13-Jan-13
Since view even on this overcast day. Three kite surfers going real fast. TFTC.

09-Dec-12
Nice puzzle. I probably took a much more manual approach to it than required, but got there fairly quickly.

Quick find at GZ.

Found with Infoferret. TFTC Smile

08-Nov-12
Solved one evening with aid of Teenager who is now too smug for his own good......couple of days later had an hour to kill with Melon so we went hunting. Found eventually, but made getting to GZ much more difficult than we needed to! TFTC and fabulous views on a great day.

Yay happy to have a smart uni student home & bored over the hols. Got the solution awhile back & great day out with tmann421 to collect the smiley face tftc

Nice quick and easy find while out with TuisReturn. I tried to find this one awhile ago but it eluded me then. Good puzzle. SL TFTC

19-Apr-12
Kjwx solved the puzzle and I found the cache on our trip in and around Titahi Bay this evening. TFTC

19-Apr-12
Solved nearly a year ago and finally collected tonight while in the area with JardisLikeTardis. Thankfully, I'd entered the co-ordinates in my puzzle notebook so we didn't have to worry about a second double decryption.

25-Dec-11
Solved a while ago and thought it a beautiful afternoon for a caching trip. Co-ords landed me right to the necessary area and the cache quickly picked up. TFTC

30-Oct-11
Worked this out back in June but hadn't got around to visiting cache. As there were several other caches in the area that we wanted to log we decided to make an afternoon of it and tidy up a few. Good view from GZ on a sunny afternoon, SL TFTC.

30-Oct-11
after a scramble up a hill, the cache was fairly easy to find. TFTC

09-Jul-11
After having solved the puzzle several weeks ago I decided that today would be a good day to complete the formalities as the bad weather would reduce the number of muggles in the vicinity of the gz. A nice location with a great view which today included a numer of surfers braving the weather to take advantage of the swell. TFTC

25-Jun-11
I solved this puzzle a while ago after a bit of a helping hand from Roaming Kiwi. I noticed a new container was in place so I made my way to GZ for an instant find. TFTC.

14-May-11
Solved some time ago, so great to find it on our first visit to Titahi Bay. Enjoyed the view from GZ while signing log book.
And a milestone - my 300th puzzle cache find.
TFTC.

#2243. Troodles solved the puzzle, and found the cache. I did manage to sign the log though. Great views of the Bay from GZ. TFTC.

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 21 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

01-May-11
Fair call.

I will drop a new container out there sometime this week.

29-Apr-11
Was going through my lists and noticed this solved one I haven't managed to look for yet.
But it has been reported missing for some time.
I really hope it won't be archived as its a good and interesting puzzle, I would rather see it replaced but there has been no action on the needs maintenance log so this has to be a needs archived one.

30-Nov-10
Cache no longer there.

30-Nov-10
Whilst claiming this as a find along with Paua Rangers we actually found the bottom of the container under a bush and a further hunt around the area turned up a toy, a vistors logo, a pencil and a piece of paper that looked like it came from the log book. No lid was to be found or we would have replaced everything in what we assume was the correct location...where the pencil still lay.. As it is we brought the few items away. The toy will move to another location but the cache needs to be replaced.

30-Nov-10
Don't know if we can really log this as a find, as no log to sign. Worked out the coords to this puzzle months ago, but couldn't find the cache. Returned with marilynjenner today for another go, only to find the remains of the cache minus lid Sad See maintenance log by marilynjenner.

04-Nov-10
12:42 PM Take II here for us, we couldn't do this last time due to muggles. Well no muggles this time but couldn't find the cache either. Will email owner for help and confirmation. It may be a goner.

Great Challenge. Too easy, make it harder next time Big Grin

14-Oct-10
Had to resort to expert assistance to give me the necessary glues to solve this one. Had the first part, just needed a bit of direction for the second aspect. Cool puzzle. Popped up this morning to do the honours on the cache which was found with no difficulty. Cache itself a tad damp, with a soaking log. Dried it out and added in a temp log. Cool southerly wind blowing through and not much action out in front today. TFTC

19-Sep-10
Guessed the encryption scheme easily enough, but spent far longer than was really necessary writing a decryption program!
Found the cache after quite a bit of hunting around. It was well hidden, but in exactly the right spot. We just didn't notice it at first.
The cache was in good condition, and sealed properly, but water has managed to get in somehow. The log book was completely sodden. We tried our best to dry it, but it might want some maintenance, or at least to be taken away for a good dry out. Managed to sign very gently. Took nothing.
Thanks for the cache, and the puzzle.

11-Jul-10
Solved the puzzle some years ago, and finally got to go there! A straightforward find although we note the logbook is quite damp. TFTC

09-Jul-10
#15 - 1/6 for the day - found at 1:45 pm on a mostly sunny day (without wind. yay! Big Grin) A small fire that was started a few months ago has not affected the cache. +20c -nil. Signed log and TFTC!

Had solved this some time ago, and able to pick up today when in the area. What a great spot, and given the day we were happy to hang around GZ for a while and watch others enjoying a superb day on the water. TFTC

Cache find Number 2000 for us.

Have now solved and visited this cache twice. The first time was over a year ago when the cache about 100m from where it is today and unfortunately that location had been compromised. Back today with second set of answers and low and behold the cache was found. Did a small dance and had a peek at the view and then off to find some more.

Yee ha.

30-Nov-09
Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 378. Done a few puzzles a bit like this. Took quite a while to find cache at GZ, ended up making too big a circle! Thanks.

26-Oct-09
A quick find this afternoon, had solved the puzzle quite a while ago. Realised immediately what the puzzle was about and started to solve it manually but after getting only a few percent of the way through it I realised that there had to be a better way. Resorted to a spreadsheet and used the inbuilt functions, and the rest was quick and easy. Signed log and dropped off a couple of magnets, TFTC and for the interesting bit of mental exercise.

30-Aug-09
Solved this one a little while ago, took me a while as it usually does with this type, tend to put them in the too hard basket to start with then go back to them, found on an early morning visit. Nice spot. TNLN SL TFTC

1430hrs. Solved this sometime ago and finally got the chance to complete the find today. Great day it was too. Gave me a great view.

An interesting puzzle indeed. Quick find at GZ. TFTC

This is #50 for me, and what a great puzzle cache to solve for the 50th. Managed to recognise what was going on and solve pretty quickly once I sat down to unwind OB's deviousness. This sort of stuff has been a hobby for a long time - although I prefer higher level languages! Easy find at GZ - GPSr took me straight to it. TFTC.

21-Dec-08
Whoopee my 500th cache found it with a bit of help but this was because I totally stuffed up, when entering numbers into GPS be sure that you enter the right numbers this does help. This is a great place for my 500th great view, great puzzle and great sport / fun, TFTC TNLNSL (500)

22-Nov-08
Solved this one quickly and easy (being in the computer field this was trivial Smile ) and grabbed the find today... Lovely view from here.. Lots of surfers and wind surfers today out.. Thanks for the cache..

Out caching with RichKai and CrystalFairy, so ditto CF's log. NINO, TFTC

22-Nov-08
Was all naughts and ones as far as we could see but found this one with naught trouble. TFTC

20-Apr-08
Found on return from Kayak Approach. Have visited GZ twice before with no luck. I came without GPS but instead brought a more powerful cache finder: Outward Bound!
Am a little disappointed in myself that I missed this one twice as coordinates were spot on. I guess I had a quick look on exact GZ and then assumed with so many other bushes around that it must be in one of them. Ah well. Thanks OB, a cool puzzle and great location for a hide.
Ps. Beware of broken glass!

12-Apr-08
16:23 Alas some local kids were metres from GZ. So didn't have a chance to look for the cache. Will try again the next time we are in town. Thanks for cache.

23-Feb-08
Hmmm. Still no love. Could you update the clue?

21-Feb-08
I think that I solved it only a short while before attempting to find the cache. The coordinates took me to a spot that matched the clue pretty well. I'll see if I can try it again this weekend.

05-Feb-08
Given the recent DNF's I went to the cache site with a new box in hand, but no, the original is still there. To be honest, maybe its on the outside of the circle of GPS accurarcy today, but only just. In case people are getting confused, the cache was moved 50M or so a few months back and the puzzle text rejigged to account for that - If anyone is attempting a find on the old co-ordinates they will be dissapointed, esp as the current clue wont match the old co-ords.

27-Jan-08
I solved the puzzle a few days ago, but didn't check the logs before running out there. I searched for a while before starting up my pda and reading the hint and logs. My second DNF for the day.

24-Jan-08
Only had about 10 minutes to look on my way to work... certainly appears to be gone. Great site otherwise.

23-Jan-08
Logging my first DNF Sad Enjoyed the puzzle & decrypted correctly, however could not find cache at co-ords. Suspect that this cache has been muggled based on evidence of nocturnal activity. Outward Bound needs to verify this cache still exists or archive it.

23-Jan-08
I am aware OB is out of the country for a few weeks so won't be able to check in the immediate future. With help from Meowsqueak I cracked the code this evening so will endeavour to check cache site in the next day or two.

05-Jan-08
Oh blast, solved the puzzle 6 months ago and didn't realise it had been updated. Didn't bother looking at the old GZ.

Solved both sets of encryption remotely, visited site today to complete the formalities. First to sign new log book. Great views at GZ. Thanks for the puzzle.

cache container replaced, and moved away from the problem area.

21-Nov-07
cache relocated

18-Nov-07
needs a tweak

13-Nov-07
This was a disappointing cache visit. The area is a tip – it looks like either someone has been sleeping rough here or that this is the neighbourhood tip. Also disappointing is the fact the hint object has been long gone and the owner hasn’t done any maintenance in spite of the last 2 finder’s mentioning that fact.

04-Aug-07
Struggled to find this one.
The clue didn't help at all as the item mentioned in it has been moved.
Found it in the end - Thanks for the Cache.

15-Jul-07
Familiar with these codes from my line of work - cache is small and well hidden, though the co-ords were right on it.
Took nothing, left Hello Kitty hair claws and Geocoin. TFTC.

09-Jul-07
Found utility on www to help. Popular park for drunk teenage muggles so took 3 visits before we had a chance to look for this cache. Well hidden, but fence post no longer there. -batteries + bath bomb TFTC.

15-May-07
The encryptions were the hard part but we finally cracked it. Locating the cache was the easy bit. Great views.

22-Apr-07
Solved this one easily because of a lot of relevant experience.
Interesting spot.
There was a fold up pinic chair set up nearby in the bushes.
No swaps.

Tried working this out last week and no joy. However it all came together quickly on my second attempt. Easy find with the decrypted information.

Signed log. TFTC and the puzzle.

18-Dec-06
Haha, took a bit of thinking on my part.... then Jojo decrypted it in an instant, just goes to show that two heads are better than one. Easy once you've cracked the code. Also there is a good view from a seat not all that far away, check it out if you're in the area.

15:18 I knew Blargster would find this 1st if I left 'I'll do it when I come back down to Wellington' note on web. And he did. Well done. TFTC. TNLNSL.

"I have decrypted the message-just for kicks!"
Yeah right!
Turns out I FTF'd it after all! Yay!
Walked straight to GZ, and plucked it out of its hiding place straight away.
