It had a good run. Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment about their journey.
Checked out the site today and found that the cache has indeed gone. I've been concerned for a while that the cache was a significant factor in the number of cars that drive through the park, so I'm going to archive this. It's has a pretty good run.
No luck, we were stumped. Think we had GZ OK but none of the many hidey holes were occupied. Sent note to owner.
gee that is a big railway embankment and we assume built by hand!!

mmm lost my caching mojo for a bit here - found what might have been GZ according to the coords and the clue but no joy today.
Late start to a third trip to Ballarat to put a few more smiley faces in this area. The old ute wanted to know where I was going on these bush tracks as I was on the wrong side of the track so to speak.
The heart rate increased with the climb up and down to the cache and then had to return. Thanks to roundcircle for the second cache of yours that I have found today. NI-NO.

We strolled over from Eddie's Cache through the wet grass and on to GZ. We found a rather interesting, er, um, ladies utensil on the way and a zombie rat near GZ. What an interesting cache experience today.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks RoundCircle for this cache today. A few interesting things in the way, but none harmful, just laughable

I found this cache with caughtatwork and big sister J today. I saw a dead zombie rat. It was all skin and bones. Then I found the cache. Thank you.
Found with Moneydork, Rediguana, Tofska, and Pohutukawa on what turned out to be a rather big day finds wise.
Our driver ignored the parking co-ords and got us somewhat closer than that!

OzzieBear & MrSnoop found this cache easily after parking at the suggested co-ords. A very interesting park with apparent relics. TFTC. TNLNSL
Found this today at 3.30pm in the company of MrSnoop. We spotted a kangaroo as we pulled into car park. This was a nice easy find in neat little hidey hole. Took TB Z6031K and left a Troll. TFTC
After an abortive attempt from above, we followed instructions and started again from the parking waypoint below - and achieved an easy find.
Geocompanion Radionut50 is also a train nut, so the sight of this massive embankment was of special value. Thanks for bringing us here.
There was no trackable in the cache, but we added the River Dart Rover TB for its next move.

We at first took the high road, but then worked out we needed to be on the lower part, so we parked down on the street and walked in. After scrambling all around up and down the hill we finally found in down low.
Third time lucky on this cache. Up the hill and back down, looked here twice before!! Some you find easy and them some.... TFTC. Left trackable item.
hate to feel stupid but walked straight upto it today and found it first look, not sure what i was doing yesterday TNLNSL
spent a good 20-30min look for this one, im wondering if the area has been reworked recently as there seems to be a lot of new fencing about. today for me at least was a DNF
Saw Borries log and had some time before tea, so popped over to check it out. The cache is sitting comfortably in it's hidey hole.
Got to 2mts from GZ and spoted likely hidding spot for the cache...so did the baby brown snake!!! Baby or not he can have this one today! Will be back when it's cooler weather. Cheers
This was a very easy find after a short walk in. Kids had fun climbing the hill. TNLN. TFTC.
Mrs Iamapom was an excellent driver on this excellent caching day - number 12 of 15 finds on Australia Day.
I took the wrong option when I chose which way to attack this - so I slid down on my geo-behind to reach where I needed to be. Made quite a mess.
Cache was easily in hand. I had a minor panic when i thought I was trapped in someones back garden!

Found at 1930 on an exploration "smash and grab day " of the area with 3up . this was unfortunatly our last cache in the area for the day but we will be back soon . Rabbits everywhere as we climbed the hill and slid back down 3up had the find and we were on the way back to melb . thanks roundcircle
Find # 657 and my 32nd and final for the day @ 19:30 with tackle_head on our "lets head west / smash and grab" day tour.
This is a nice park, and being a train driver by profession made it even more enjoyable to see the old track bed and bridge. I wonder why this seems to be the last find of the day for a lot of folk. Are they spending the night here or is it just coincidence? For us, it was hunger and contentment that put a stop to the caching run and we pointed the beast in the direction of home.
TNLN SL Thanks for the cache roundcircle.

This one turned out to be our last cache of the day, as Dvixen was exhausted.
So many rabbits about as we headed to the GZ.
I loved the old tunnel, and could easily imagine the old trains passing on the bank above as we wandered to the hide. Nice little spot.

nice hide not where i thought it would be. I have never seen so many rabbits. Loved the tunnel to wet to walk through.TFTC
Redtag found this one while I stood by the car. This was a very sneaky hide. Well done.
We are so jealous of the folks who have the old train embankment as their driveway - how cool is that!
Also loved the hide, was so not where I expected it to be, after a few minutes found, whilst the rest of the family were looking at the old tunnel. Snips was very excited to swap her bracelet and green man for the Turtle stamp (thanks crafty turtle!). TFTC

My very first geocache find! How exciting.
I've walked my dog in this park for over a year, and I never knew this was here.
Took train token, left turtle rubber stamp.

We found our 5th Round Circle cache at 5:20pm as the 24th of 40 on our Ballaratatattat Tour V in company of Backpaqer. After only finding 1 cache in the last 2 hours due to various reasons, this was the one that got our day back on track again. Thanks for the cache from D B-A.
I like train line caches - my best cache of all takes you through a disused tunnel near Mount Warning. took the coin.
Our first cache for the day. We were here yesterday but were on the wrong side of the embankment and ran out of daylight. Better luck today. The local Jack Russell tried his hardest to alert everyone to the fact that we were there. An easy find, we left Ben the dock engine and took the geocoin. Thanks for the cache Roundcircle.
Great spot, never really been in this park before. Great morning for caching! TFTC. Another find for the geopuggle
We got a bit lazy and drove to the cache.
Easy find in a nice location.
We liked the park so much we are coming back again!
We are running a bushwalk in the area and want to include the history in our walk, so thank you for the history lesson.

This is the sort of structure that makes one think "walkies". If this section is typical, it would make a great "rail trail". I walked in from the street along the base and put my GPS on a post to sort itself out but spotted the hide straight away, before it had half a chance to fire up. No swaps made. Many thanks for the trip to this pleasant little park and an interesting piece of history.
this one took it out of me i was buggered. foudn with snake catcher and geewok.

Found @ 6.20pm with Geewok and PolishManiac on a very HOT day of Caching. Both PolishManiac and myself got out of the car to go and retrieve the cache. So Down we went, then Up we go, and down we go again. As we were getting nearer to the cache I slipped and the GPS went flat...Doh!!!
Found the cache with no problems. SL and was putting back when I found a small dryed Snake egg near by. (already hatched) TFTC NINO

Nice spot, lived close by when younger, didn't even know that the tunnel was there, do now, what great work must of gone into these tunnels. Thank you for making a cashe close to this. Took slinky, left Travel bug.
Found at 0015. First find for the day (technically speaking) on day two of the Ballarat run. After parking nearby on the road, a quick stroll through to GZ was all that was needed to find a nicely hidden cache. No problems with muggles at this time of night. They might have thought I was a ghost anyway.

As we drove up to this one the embankment loomed. An easy find with the headlights helping a lot. Thanks for the RoundCircle
Drove right up to this one. Very easy find with some loud music nearby. Not much to see in the dark. Thanks RoundCircle
It was interesting to see the brickwork of the culvert near this cache. We seem to take workmanship like that for granted in these days of pre-stressed concrete fabrications.
Following the directions on the GPSR we actually drove up what I think was the old railway embankment which now seems to be somebodies driveway. We soon worked out the error of our ways and found the coordinates for the parking area and headed off there. Armed with a frisbee the geoteens and I headed off to find the cache, which was quickly located as described.

Like the last finder we thought we were looking in the wrong spot at first but soon found it. I was also impressed by the brickwork in the culvert. They don't make them like that any more!

I was busy looking in much more oomplicated places before granny pingu spotted it - she's quick at this (her 2nd one).
The brickwork tunnel is quite an interesting shape, and fantastic workmanship - almost still perfect after 113 years.

Think I parked at the same place as Mr Emu! Realised my error after reading the cache description that it was at the bottom of the embankment, so some careful reversing was in order and a much easier way in located. The parking co-ordinates didn't show up on CacheMate, so I parked in the nearest sidestreet and walked to GZ. Soon found the cache - TNLN - thanks for the adventure!
My third find! Turns out I live about 700m away!! Nice hiding spot, it took me a while to find it. I think I am still getting used to the whole GPS thing!

Found today by Mr Emu & Son @ 12.20 a.m. GAFF2, on our first Ballarat visit. We inadvertently created our own adventure with this one. Having read a previous log entry stating that you could drive up to the cache, Mr Emu thought he knew the right track to drive up . After quickly finding the well-hidden cache, Son of Emu got to witness some not-so-high-speed reversing out of the place. Lesson learned! Thanks for the cache in this nice, quiet location RoundCircle.
