As has been so subtley put by the previous poster, this event was completed many months ago. Unfortunately I did not originally realize that I should have archived this event. My apologies to anyone who may have been put out by this omission of mine.

Happy caching to you all

We had so much fun at this event today, even with the rain everyone was chatting, laughing and playing the games. Thanks Chookies for putting the whole thing together.

A good chance to swap some caching yarns again. I was due at a wedding in templestow at 3PM so missed the activities up the Roosters sleve that where just starting to unfold. Made it just with 7 spare miniutes.
Good to see everyone again.

Thanks Chookies

As Mark was working away this weekend, I hitched a ride with the Coffee Clan to this great event. It was fantastic to see everybody joining in the well organized events and activities, lots of smiling faces and I'm sure that was what Chookies intended. Congrats to the winners, we haven't completed many of these caches yet, we are looking forward to them. Its always good to catch up with old friends and great to meet some new teams as well.
Thanks again Chookies

Dear Chookies,

Thanks for a great time - the Solomonfamily really enjoyed the day - Squire Josh aka
speed hump loved the races and skipping - he fell asleep before we left the car
park.

It was great meeting you all and putting a face to some caches that stick out in our
memory.

Thanks to all for making us welcome.

Pickupfamily attended in full complement; we all (especially the kids) had a great fun time. It was good to meet up with some new faces and to consolidate the knowledge of those faces we've now come across a few times.

Thanks to Chookies for organising what was indeed a fun and exciting competition and finale event. And thanks to everyone who hid a cache and gave us impetus to get out there with the kids, and to ensure the kids had an enjoyable time qhilst at it. Congratulations to the winners: the two we found were certainly worthy and we look forward to finding the third which we didn't get to in time for the competition. We'll be sure to hunt out the others in due course as well.

Thank you for a great activity and event. We began to hibernate over winter and these new caches woke us up and got us going again.

We had so much fun with all the caches and the event today was wonderful. It was great to meet with everyone and the kids had a wonderful time. They really loved the races and playing with the other children. Thank you for a great day!

This is the second 'Fun & Exciting' event that I have attended, although I haven't participated by placing a cache for either activity. Sad I have wanted to place a cache, but never seem to get myself in gear. Anyhow, I think the idea is a very good one, and has resulted in the placement of some very clever and enjoyable caches for both events. Next year I'll put in the effort, I promise. I haven't visited all the caches that were placed for this year's activity, but the reputation of the winning cache has preceded it, and I'm really looking forward to logging it. I also understand that Geof's cache is a beauty. Congratulations to the three winners, and thanks to Chookies for organising the whole thing. As usual, I got to meet some new faces, and to catch up with previous acquaintances. In fact, meeting other cachers and talking about caching is what I really like about cache events. Thanks to Choookies for the opportunity to indulge myself. Even the weather wasn't too bad (or not as bad as it looked earlier this morning).

I was very fortunate that I had a few hours spare while in Melbourne and was able to attend. I enjoyed meeting some new cachers and hearing their stories. Thanks to Chookies for putting on such a well organised event. Partic, Dak and now Chookies, these events are for more professional than anything I could throw together!

I look forward to next years Smile.

"A" and I enjoyed attending today's event. Congratulations to Chookies on another well organised day and to all the placers of caches of which we have managed to do and enjoy quite a few. We had a great time catching up with all there and would have liked to have stayed longer but with an unfortunate playground accident by "A" during the end of the speeches with a possible broken finger we had to make a quick exit stage left. (Luckily, it turned out to be a sprain). To those we missed, we hope to catch up next time. Dropping in three TB's.

28-Oct-06
What a great day for all the family, the Chefs kids had a ball getting to know the other caching kids. Congratulations to all the winners. It was great meet some of the new teams and all the old faces.

Thanks Chookies for another great event

Thanks to Chookies for a well organised and fun event, and for the great competition. And thanks to all those who put out fun and exciting caches for the competition. I didn't get to all of them, but I did get to most and enjoyed them.

I always enjoy the social side of these events, catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. Thanks for all your hard work - it really paid off.

Another great event that we will all be talking about for some time to come Big Grin well done to chookies for all the time and effort that went into the preperation and execution of this event.

Thanks to Chookies for another fun event that the kids enjoyed even more than the indoor get together at the "Berwick Springs Hotel" last year! The kids enjoyed all the caches in the series.Despite a few odd showers at the event, the sack race was a hit for young and old with "farmergirl" bounding to a victory in the kids section! In the adults division,"chefs" and "farmers" were duelling until "bacPAQer" came thru for a stunning win with a late "kangaroo hop" to clinch "gold"!!The wheelbarrow race was a fun 2 lapper with "Mr C" pushing his barrow into 5th gear to sprint away to the winners podium!Later in the 2 lapper sack race ,the turning point seat copped a hammering as suddenly Mr C grew an extra leg and "sack" to win the double sack section!!Overall, another great 4 week series of chasing "fun" caches,an enjoyable final picnic and well done to all participants for their entries and chookies for the "production" of the whole event!!!

The Fun & Exciting caching activity of 2006 came to its end today with the get together and presentation of the awards at Jells Park in Glen Waverly.
It was great to see familiar and new cachers attend and with so many people it was hard to chat to all, but by all accounts so far this was the pinnacle of 6 weeks of finding and logging some of the best kid’s caches we have seen.
Three Cheers and Congratulations to Chookies for organizing and running the event and the fun and professionalism of today’s presentation was “outstanding†to say the least, and the trophies and participation certificates will be a reminder of one of the most fun caching experiences.
Congratulations to Pandpp for taking the Gold, Congratulations to BackPAQer for 2nd and Congratulations to Muzza for a great third, however according to the Coffee Clan kids all the caches submitted were winners and all should be thought of as worthy of Gold. Michael would also like to say thank you to Chefs on the Run for a bag of lollies that he won with the FTF certificate, they will be sure to keep him hypo for many weeks to come. Again a big thank you to Chookies it has certainly been a Fun and Exciting Activity Event.
Event caches are a perfect example of “what caching is about†and they are certainly alive and well in Victoria, we hope this and other caching events will inspire others to participate and create their own events in the future.
Regards Mr.Coffee and the “did I hear that Team Crackers have gained another team member†Clan.

Was great catching up with everyone at the event, Thanks Chookies.

Hi all! A big congratulations and thankyou to Team Chookies for organising this event! Considering that the average geocacher in Melbourne is a 40-something family with at least one kid, this event has a very apt appeal. Congratulations to the winners and we'll definitely have to put that cache to the top of our to-do list!

Also dropped off TB White Jeep "Joan"

This was our first Fun & Exciting Caching Activity event and we now see what we missed out on at the last one. Wonderful organisation by Chookies to get all of those kids so interested - should have been a Wiggles Dave! Thanks for the work that you and your family put in, we really appreciated it. It was also great to meet up with the new cachers after following their logs over the past few months - and we were also graced by an out of town cacher all the way from Shep!

28-Oct-06
Ahh - finally got rid of the white elephant to someone who is much more appreciative of these items. Rally where were you!

28-Oct-06
Mary & David were there! Thanks to Chookies for organising the event. Like so many others there, we also love the social aspect of geocaching that such Events make possible. Great to see so many new teams, and how many 'next generation' cachers there were with all those children of all ages enjoying themselves. Unfortunately we were overseas and unable to place a cache this year. We did make a point of trying to visiti the entries, though, and succeeded in getting to all but one. Congratulations to the prize winners in particular, but also to all the entrants for the fun and excitement we experienced. Our thanks to to all who braved the elements to attend today and make the Event so enjoyable. Victorian caching is certainly alive and well, and we look forward to meeting everyone again soon.

27-Oct-06
