Looked for a long time here, Wish we hadnt given up but the kids were needing the bathroom and we really werent having any luck. Will try again
Nice easy find, we need some more caches along this road?! I was a bit worried when I saw all the recent tree felling, but the cache is safe and very dry. TFTC
Parked across the road and wandered over to find the cache. Checked out a couple of possibilities before spotting the cache. There has been a lot of work done over the fence here recently, and this is no longer A Poplar Place at all. TFTC.
I went on a little adventure for the afternoon to see what I can find. Had a really good day with lots of interesting finds, and no dnf's! I am not surprised this is a pop(u)lar spot, the cache will have been around for ten years this year! TFTC!!
A lovely day... have driven past this one many times... thought we'd better stop and collect it ☺
Sunday road trip on a mission for an O an E and #1500 . Plenty of hints to choose from but got there after a quick search tftc
On our way to the NZ Mega in Christchurch and this was one of our stops. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Another cache found today with Woody104 on the second day of our Mega Adventure. Salamat!
Working in the area for the last 2 days and had finished early today, so before winging my way back north decided to check out some local caches. Found this one exactly as the hint suggested. Nice sized cache with lots if goodies. TNLN, signed log and onwards to the next hide. TFTC!
In September 2008 we searched in vain for this cache. Today it was easy !!!! I don't know!! That's the way it happens sometimes.
Found with the family of caches, after a lovely walk with the fantails. TFTC
Every day we are traveling around is same but also different. Today we had again the pleasure to visit some very beautiful spots and were also able to find nearly placed geocaches. I thank every single owner for placing it and giving us with doing this an other good reason to come here.
Mallorcatommy and I were on our journey through the southern island of New Zealand. With the help of geocaches we came to so many beautiful places, saw breath-taking landscapes and had, all in all a very wonderful journey! Thank you to all owners for placing all those nice geocaches!
Quick find. Today's trip took me to Lincoln, the Selwyn Huts, the west side of the Lake, Southbridge, the Rakaia Huts, Leeston and then back to Lincoln before heading home. TFTC (1501)
Day 1 on my quest of A Cache a day for May ok find camo paint starting to wear off Blackberry ready so had a feed while searching
Easy find tftc. Locsl farmer very interested on our antics, had to act pretty cool
First cache in ages, kids found it... Headphone adaptor in card or some sort my son wanted out.
After arriving at the GZ the sheep decided to keep bleating at me, after a bit of a search had it in hand and left to to themselves.
Took my niece along on this hunt. I'm trying to get her in to the GC shenanigans. Left a voucher for McDs in it. Cheers
Well this neck of the woods wasn't very poplar today. Used the gps to get exactly on GZ before diving into the unknown. TFTC
11th and last find for the day. Got a bit scratched up on the one, but cache in good order. TFTC.
Nice easy cache. Left a new pen in the cache as the one that was in there was out of ink.
it was fun

A nice easy find. Almost watered by irrigater across road because of strong wind.
A quick park and grab with this one. Dropped off an audio CD of some geotalk podcasts for a future finder to listen to in the car maybe. TFTC.
While out on a job in Leeston I thought that I'd have a nice drive in the country.
GPS led me straight to this one, I was only delayed slightly when I had to wait for a mob of sheep to clear the road.

Had a good laugh approaching GZ as the Australian GPS voice said were were "arriving at Poplar Place Canterbu". The cache was quick to hand and my two wee ones were deciding on which treasure to swap. We opted for the braclets and left a penguin and toy. Signed log and giggled as we left a "Poplar Place in Canterbu". TFTC.

Plan was to grab the nearby multicache but got there and realised the lack of gumboots was a stopping block. So e back up plan went into action. Considering I hadn't really looked at where it was on the map we made it a lot harder than it needed to be by following the arrow on the gps and doing a big circle to get to it. Discovered the more direct route on leaving the site - isn't that always the way. The boys were promised a treat if they found it so motivation was high and was in hand quite quickly. Gps took us straight to it. Thanks for the cache, chocolate all round and home for take aways for tea.
Go TradeMe a great reason and geocaching for going for a drive somewhere off the beaten track.

I thought this one was rather good because if you G.P.S. was not a good one you could look for hours.Yes i found it quick.tftc
Sent my sister in to find this one. With all the long grasses at this time of year, my eyes are streaming with hayfever. TFTC
A lovely day for a drive - haven't been out this way for decades; little traffic & a quick find, TFTC.
Well that was easier, we had a quick go at it some time ago, but this time it was easy. Took Travel Bug
TFTC. This was a pleasant find along the road to attempt Enigma. A fine row of poplars indeed. Left a new TB called NZ Fantail for the next person who goes past this way.
A second go at this one and voila there it was with hardly any searching. Last time we tried in the wet and got soaked. What mystifies us is why anyone would put one there? It is the same sort of terrain for many many metres. Thankyou.
Quick driveby find on my way back from "Enigma". Whilst the roadside might be hairy I pinpointed the location from the far side of the road, waded in and "through"...and b-b-b-bingo, there it was right where it should be and not near any prickley stuff....easy.

The area is knee high in grass and lots of wild blackberries so in the end all we came away with was scratches. ;-(
Definitely is poplar. When I was reaching for the cache a rabbit came hopping out - we both gave each other a fright. TFTC #1582
Making the most of the sunny weather going for a Sunday drive in the country.
