I expected an extended time looking for this But having read the previous logs, the cache was safely in hand within a couple of minutes.Log was completely full, so performed maintenance and a new log supplied.Brought back memories coming here tonight, as for many years I used to live just next door! 18:02Lunch packed, water on board, ready for our final day of caching with Suscoe before heading back to Victoria.Well it was actually our third visit here, ..... last for the day, and our last find in SA for this trip. Having just has success at similar structure while returning back to camp, it was back for another look, and this time R-S soon had a cache log to sign. Our thanks to 'Team Seedsman' for adding this cache to the. geo-gameboard.37889*This log composed and published using Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK).*

Well another delightful day around Adealide with our good friends Phetlern. We enjoyed this wander and cache finding having a good chat as we went.Again we were impressed with the range of housing styles that we saw and the delightful street trees that adorn this city. The day was mostly fine with a little drizzle around lunch time, a cool breeze that kicked in after the drizzle but before and after that it was pretty good with some sunshine peeping through. Thanks to Team Seedsman, this one took a few visits but we got there in the end.

Out for a stroll in order to find one geocache to keep my current streak going. And this geocache, which is about a 7 km round-trip walk. Is the closest one for me.I read some previous logs, and took their advice. Squat down at the front, and have a look around.TFTC.

Out for a little while to find a couple of caches. Lovely & quiet here thank goodness. Was taking me far too long & after reading previous logs I took the suggestion & squatted down in the front to have a better view & I caught a glimpse of the little blighter. Oh watch your head when you stand up!!! Getting it took a little while. Was very happy to sign log. Log is full tho. Replaced & happily walked off to the nearby Welcome to Walkerville cache. Tftc(On my return to car I passed the cannon again & two cachers were searching for the cache. I couldnt resist walking over & having a chat & giving them a little hint. Great meeting you both Jaynaut.

Clocking up caches, whilst working toward other challenge goals and milestones!

I'd spent the afternoon caching in this area. It was becoming dark when I found a cache 2 before this one, that was a battle to get, resourcefulness was required! Then I found one before this cache in the dark, that one wasn't too bad for my experience level so it was found within a moment.

I see this cache not too far, however I sighted that it hadn't been found since January 2023, and the last log was a DNF. I thought, it's on my way home, why not give it a crack? #yolo

I should add, it's winter and goodness it is icey cold! But where there's a challenge and I've got the time and mental capacity, you bet I'll give it a crack!

I reviewed the logs moreso paying attention to the spoiler images. How cute is Florence! Anywho, after assuming where it would he based on the images, I was beginning to have doubt. I searched in the overall particular area for 15 or so minutes.

Being the determined cacher that I am, I persisted and moved to another section. Searched around that area for about 10 or so minutes. During this time I knew I wasn't far off, because the coordinates had me within 1 - 2m.

So I moved to another section and the coordinates had me within 0 - 1m. I wasn't moving! My Geo-senses knew it was within reach, I just had to become one with the nano!

Using just my hand and no sight required I felt something? I thought it was just more dirt, leaves etc. I felt that area again and sure enough the nano was in my hand!!

There should be a Souvenir for finding a nano, on a Cannon, in the dark, in the dead of winter!

Nanos are the bane of my geocaching experience. They are absolutely despicable and I would wish death upon anybody sooner than I would wish them try and find a nano. If I had access to this gun I the first thing I would be doing is blasting this nano into the stratosphere... etc, etc. You get the point.
Other than the fact that it's a nano, good hide!

Yep took a little while to find but you have to be patient in this game.

And, now for the compulsory nano rant: "Nanos Bloody Nanos! Infuriating to find, infuriating to sign and infuriating to roll. Spawn of satan. Burn down the Nano factory, and exterminate anyone who hides Nanos."

Looks like I didn’t know the definitive spot. I messaged a previous finder again and I got the actual definitive spot. Well, I already had it, but I was just stupid.

I couldn’t sign so check the picture for evidence.

This nano is tiny. Check picture for an eye reference. It’s sooooo small which is why

I hate nanos. No, I mean I HATE nanos. And not just HATE, HATE HATE. The Boom Boom Boom in the title should happen to the tiny nano, exactly the way it happened in 2015 by Freddo (thank you for giving nanos that correct treatment Freddo). Like, why can’t you just switch to mint tins, nanos are so inconvenient. Nobody likes nanos. So join the light side today and switch to mint tins if you want something magnetic! Or don’t switch to mint tins, just ANYTHING but nanos.

I came here yesterday and couldn’t seem to find it. So, I messaged a previous finder. Now I knew the definitive spot. There was NO stopping me Smile. I revisited, and still couldn’t find it. Bloody nanos. I am 99% sure it’s been muggled.

I have driven past this small reserve countless times, but the first time I really took notice of it when after midnight one summer when I had to slow down for a boy with a dog standing in the middle of NE Rd. Except it wasn’t a dog - the lad was actually escorting a koala across the road. I often wonder how that ended for the koala.

Nanos on military equipment are not my favourite thing, and I’ve driven past this cache a lot of times too, but today I’m actually looking for a way to kill some time.

Found after about ten minutes, with thanks to OZGrumpy for his useful log.

And it’s only now that I see how old this cache is. Bonus!

Thanks for this one Team Seedsman.

Thanks for the cache Team BaggyGreens. I visited this one twice in the last 4 years, those occasions would have been a long time ago. I have driven past this canon probably 100 times since then, and always tell myself I will have another go one day.

I found myself just around the corner, and there was still plenty of light left in the afternoon. A quiet Sunday might provide me with some luck. There were a few dog walkers passing through, but I found enough free space to get in there for another go at this one.

As luck would have it, I spied it easily on my second knees down event, it was very prominent and I could easily notice it from the other side. Crossing over I let out a sigh of relief to find the little fella came off in my hands. I attempted the unscrew but it was stuck solid. Much effort was used but the little fella wouldnt budge. So back to the car, and I managed to find two wrenches that were able to get the lid free. Log signed.... way way down the end, and then the time consuming roll back up again. It fitted nicely and I did not screw it back on anywhere near as hard. I returned to the canon and placed it back where I found it.

So pleased to have this one as a smiley. What a beaut little shiny silver nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano nano to have finally found. Third time looking and finally found it with the help of little Florence!

06-Mar-20
It was disabled because its health score triggered a requirement for it to be looked at for maintenance.
The guidelines are clear that the owner is responsible for maintenance and should respond if a request for maintenance is logged. A log from the owner would have cleared this up quickly.
If the history of DNF continued and the original cache was missing this would be archived.

13-Feb-20
It was a nice night for some jogging, so I left just after I arrived home, with my target area being Felixstow and then to Vale Park. I needed to convert a previous DNF in Felixstow Reserve, and then grab a few cache types required for the calendar day, as well as target a cache that had been disabled due to a suspected absence, but likely still in situ.

This was one of my target caches for tonight, as I noted that there were concerns that this one was missing. As I pulled up and read the logs, I saw e.gregory1 had only visited here earlier today to already confirm that this cache was still here. So that filled me with some confidence, and I began my search. It didn't appear that I had luck on my side tonight and in contrast to the previous finders, it took me a good 25 min to hunt for this cache before making the find! Darn nano! The cache container and logbook were in good shape.

It was nice to have found this oldie 08/2006 hidden cache, and like the write note logs before me, I'm not sure why this one was disabled when these cannon nanos are always going to be more difficult to find than usual caches (hence the 2.5 difficulty rating). I hope this one can continue to survive nevertheless. Thanks Team BaggyGreens for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. A cool location to highlight.

13-Feb-20
I was a bit surprised to see this old 2006 cache disabled after just a few DNFs, so I called by GZ this morning for a look. The cache was exactly where it was last found in November and in excellent condition. There is also still plenty of space in the logbook. No maintenance or checking required.

07-Feb-20
There is no way this would be gone! It’s a nano on a cannon it’s going to be hard! R DNS’s is sometimes expect! Cache is still in place ready to be found

04-Feb-20
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention.

I am temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

If you require more time please be sure to post a note (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.

For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date or the cache will be treated as an abandoned cache and archived without further notice.

12-Nov-19
On the way home from drain caches this morning , this trad had bugged both e.gregory1 and myself for some time but we had never looked for it. Knowing what we had to search for we thought a 2 man attack would be a better option.
Arrived at GZ, and within a minute if not less I had the cache in hand. Oh how lucky I am. Never found a nano on a gun this fast before and that could take a very long time to find.
Nice to have cleared this devil off the map.

Thanks for the cache

12-Nov-19
I visited here once about 8 years ago to look for this cache but there was a family having a picnic next to the gun so I abandoned the idea.

Today I returned with gridge98. We decided to take a methodical approach, expecting that it could take a while. But in less than a minute, gridge98 had put his finger on it! Sometimes you just get lucky.

Thanks Team BaggyGreens for the cache.

Took us awhile until Team Crumble arrived to the rescue us with fresh eyes. Mrs Crumble had the cache in hand soon after eveyone tried looking at the GZ from different angles. TFTC

21-Oct-18
On our way to meet friends for dinner and Mr Crumble made a very quick left turn in the side street. What the heck are you doing I asked? He pointed to the cannon in the park and I laughed. There were our friends, standing hand on hips staring at the cannon.
We pulled over and joined them. Unfortunately the first thing we found was a syringe. Our friends disposed of that.
With so many eyes looking it still took us a while. We all thought we had looked everywhere and were just about to call it, when i had one more look. Boom, found it! The favorite point is NOT for the Nano but for the fun we had finding it with friends.

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
Was heading home and had a few moments to spare for this one, yet again. Lost count of the number of times I have called in to attempt this one. Also lost count of the number of times the search has been muggle interrupted. Tonight however, not a muggle in sight and with it getting a little dark was also well shielded from passing 4W muggles. Today the cache was located in about 30 seconds. Boom, Boom, Boom. Signed log. Then spent more time rerolling the log and replacing it in the container than it took to find it.
