Sadly I have to archive this cache. The area has been totally demolished and the information board where the cache was hidden has gone along with the garden area. The horse artwork memorial has been moved and everything is still behind fences.
The area is fenced off at the moment and it isn't possible to access the cache.
On our trip from Arthur Pass to Cristchurch we had a lot of stops and discoverd caches like this. TFTC! Ä

A quick find while in the area. Looking alone was not enough, had to just feel up instead.

Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 2: More Christchurch Geoart was the order of business, with the Eclipse, Smurfs and Geocaching Glossary series the main goal before heading to the airport to pick up Iammrwalker this afternoon and heading over Arthur's Pass for the CANZ West Coast cache and finishing with the "Know when to Hold em" pick up 52 series.
With a couple more hours left in us before sleep was calling we finished off the Month Spelling Challenges and started on the Eclipse series.
A big thanks to the CO's for the hides and especially the CO for the Geoart as I can only image the effort involved for setting these up. Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

Down in West Melton from Auckland for the weekend so picked up a couple of caches while I was here. Great hide. TFTC
After a minty mission it's time to grab a few extra in the area quick find tftc
I was out smurfing with purdiepurdie yesterday - decided I should return to the scene of the crime to pick up some which she had already collected.
This cache was on the way & I had been meaning to stop here, forever. No muggles around, all quiet, quick find.
Thanks for this cache, lytteltonwitch.

I have been planning this trip for a while now as I had some airpoints due to expire and wanted to go somewhere for Wellington Anniversary Weekend. So I've made it a 4 day weekend and come down from Palmerston North for a caching road trip. I have two goals for this weekend, to get to 2500 caches before 23 January (which I've completed) as that is when I took up caching last year and to get caches on as many latitude minutes as possible that will hopefully qualify me for a challenge cache in the Manawatu. This is day 3: Ashburton to Christchurch. The weather is pretty rubbish but I'm powering on, I've got a good coat and wet weather pants.
After collecting some of the ECLIPSE trail, it's time to start heading into Christchurch. My feet are saturated and getting cold.
Headed to West Melton to this memorial and the cache was quickly found. Tftc

Presumably the previous finder had returned it to its correct spot. after a quick look on the ground I decided to follow the hint.
While I am in the South Island for a few day we took a trip out to this corner of the greater Christchurch . We were nearing the end of our caching expedition when we returned to West melton to locate some of the caches here before going to the local pub for a rather late tea. I am very surprised at the amount of growth out here and the build up of local amenities. Thank you for this cache and another smiley face.
Nice easy find on a day just cruising around with nothing better to do tftc took travel bug
Nice quick find thanks to hint. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.
Cache is there but has been put back in the wrong place but same hint applies. Note could the next finder please move it slightly so that shorter people can reach. Cache owner couldn't reach it so she wasn't happy.
Didn't spot this last time I looked but today there was no one around that I had to look out for so it became a relatively easy find. Tftc
Spent a fun day caching with Paddle Chick, found lots of awesome caches, thanks to all the CO's
Had to wait for ages for a muggle and her kids to move on. Out on a caching mission today with Nanzie with the aim of a new personal best each, were both successful. A technical issue with the selected area not covered in the pocket query on my GPS meant we had to revert to cell phone for traditional and multis but if my calculations are correct we both finished with a total of 110. More than half of these were puzzles. Thanks to all CO's for the effort gone into placing them all.

Appreciated the dedication to the horse. Nice to see. easy find, retrieval tricky for me - shortie! TFTC
On another gorgeous Canterbury afternoon! The Chief has his eye on some challenge caches and this cache was on the way. TFTC
Third day of the Chch Mega 2015 event. Decided to go caching with buttels today to do the Thompson track and few others. Managed a reasonably good day of 100+ caches. The last few caches of the day were the standard traditional caches. Some had amazing views, and some interesting history. Thanks for the caches.
Found but was sort of muggled as it was lying on open ground. Tucked it away where we thought it might go.
Did a check of this cache as I had been told that there are two caches here. I had checked this cache only a few weeks ago and the cache was in it's correct place. Today the cache that was in the correct place was missing but I found the second cache which was a good 10 or more metres away. It was also my original cache container which I had replaced because I thought it had gone missing. I used this cache to replace the replacement cache as the replacement one has gone missing. Confused, so is the CO.
The hint is correct. I also couldn't believe that the bookcrossing book that I had left here on the seat several weeks ago was still sitting on the seat.

Today is day three of NZDi's and my Blenheim - Christchurch - Greymouth - Blenheim triangular caching trip and while yesterday was all about quality caches, today is about numbers. Today we did our biggest day ever, 50 caches. Most of todays caches were pretty generic but there were a coupe of gems. Our logs were annotated Kiwimykl and NZDi, KM & ND or variations there of.
A QEF PnG on the way to the West Coast.

Our third for this sunny afternoon & still time for an ice cream on the way home.
That's a doozy hubby went for clue and found it, I went for cache name and found it, two cache containers different locations 20 metres apart
Cords were out by about 15m but I am using an iPhone. Hint is not right either, still a very easy find though TFTC P.S. No TB here
A quick and easy second find for the friend I was driving to the airport. Jess is a horse rider so this one suited her just fine. This was her second ever find.
Thanks from Jess and TFTC from DextersLabs
