On my way to a 3 day 4wdriving navigation event in Guildford so I decided to grab some along the way!Was even greeted by the resident Echidna!
Found with my favs Bogonghazy and Geo dog. Finally getting around to post. Thanks feathertop for placing the geocache
*Found on the 21 Sep 2024 @ 5:16pm.**Cache find # 15831.*After a day out up North, I was now heading towards home but there were still a number of caches to be found along the way, taking the less direct route so that these caches that would normally get passed by, were not.Another cemetery added to the list of cemeteries that I have visited to find a cache.I went for a stroll to GZ, had a look around eventually finding the right spot and the cache.**Thanks to feathertop for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**
TFTC! I do enjoy a cemetery cache. Walking through the cemetery and reading the headstones of people before us.
My plan for this weekend was attending most of the "The Great Victorian Cache Crawl" while collecting old geocaches, multicaches, and a tree climb for the adventure. Plus, whatever else caught our eyes as we passed.Of the old geocaches, it looks like we got...X2 2001X2 2002X2 2005X1 2006X3 2007Favourite caches of the weekend we were the 2001 caches. Not because they were old ones, but because the items at GC255F were completely unexpected, and the adventure at GC277B of walking over the flooded spillway and climbing the cliff in the rain was risky and therefore exciting. Overall, not huge numbers of caches found, but a great weekend adventure. Big thanks to Geocaching Victoria for organising the events and getting so many geocachers to attend. With the rain starting to stop, we rushed off to this one. Unfortunately, I only looked at the hole on the opposite side of the GZ tree and spent to look looking elsewhere. Then after signing it, the rain started again and we ran downhill back to the car. Thanks for the cache, Feather Top.Hunter
Exploring Carlsruhe with nirgalagrin, +Wife, and EveTheStaffy on our way through to Bendigo. After completing the Multi-cache in town, we headed out here for a look around. A short stroll past some interesting tombstones soon had us at GZ.All in good order here. Thank you for placing this cache and highlighting the cemetery feathertop.
12:17An invitation was extended to accompany n0w0rries+Wife and EveTheStaffy to Bendigo for an event and a geology lesson. Of course I accepted. With a bit of time up our sleeves, we took a slight detour to Carlsruhe. And how could we go past the dead centre of town without a visit? Thanks, feathertop. A nice quick find, then a bit of an explore. No danger of this cemetery reaching capacity any time soon.#9020
Quick stop before getting back on the highway and driving south. Very deserted grounds.
Easy find in this seemingly rarely used cemetery. Thanks for taking me somewhere I wouldnt otherwise have discovered!
I love doing cemetery caches some day its morbid but I like the history. Putty this cemetery isnt well maintained as the grass around most graves was very high. Luckily there was a bit of a path to GZ. TFTC
Maybe wear gloves to get it out and be prepared for a bit of a hike through some lovely areas
I do love cemetery caches so on this trip I have been looking for them. Wide open space in this one. Good hide in good order tftc
This has been our 3rd find for the day. The kids are really loving this. Thanks!
The snuggle muggle had to fly to Sydney today for work, so I decided to take the day off and drop her off at the airport. Little did I know that her flight was at 06:30 which meant we were at the airport super early.
So after I dropped her off I decided I would take an impromptu caching road trip up to [Bendigo](https://www.visitvictoria.com/regions/goldfields/destinations/bendigo) and cache along the way.
I was mainly focussed on trying to pick up some Large caches, Virtuals, [Jasmer](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2018/10/the-jasmer-challenge/) fillers, and then any of the [12 Days of Cachemas caches](https://www.geocaching.com/plan/lists/BMCDCJE?sort=name&sortOrder=asc&skip=0&take=20) or [2022 Victorian COTYA Nominee caches](https://www.geocaching.com/plan/lists/BMC8QYR?sort=name&sortOrder=asc&skip=0&take=20) that I came near.
Well with this one fulfilling one of my missing [Jasmer](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2018/10/the-jasmer-challenge/) months, August 2006, It was quickly decided to be a must do.
With the caching trip being impromptu and me trying to decide what cache I should do next sort of on the fly, I didn't properly read the cache page before I arrived.
*Oh it's a cemetery cache...*
Which of course I would have known if I just read the cache page properly.
I go back and forth on cemetery caches. I think if they are done properly, they can highlight some amazing people and be quite tasteful. Unfortunately I have also found a couple of caches that had you searching around tombstones and walking all over grave sites.
So I was glad to see that this one was extremely respectful. As the cache was far enough away I didn't have to intrude on any gravesites or mourners. Actually the cemetery was empty today, so I didn't bother anyone on my approach.
After paying my respect to those who have come and gone before me I then continued my walk to GZ. My phone actually seemed to cooperate today as it quickly homed in on one beacon and sure enough after a quick search the cache was in hand and the logbook signed.
A big thanks goes to [feathertop](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2994c8b6-3da8-43e2-aeb8-22fa64025ac2&wid=efdab946-6a24-4cb1-bd7c-df57ee7cbb5b&ds=2) for bringing me to this lovely little cemetery and for the fun today. TFTC.
**Cache Maintenance Status**
The cache container was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

Little Miss eldest and I enjoyed a little walk around the cemetery. I personally like country cemeteries. She was rapt in finding the cache but Mum had to be the brave one this time to pick up the cache and place it back. Lucky there were no critters in the hiding place. Log signed and off we continued to pick up the other Little Miss.
Mrs B & I decided to visit the region today using caches to take us to interesting (sometimes) locations. We were surprised how overgrown with grass and weeds the place was given that it is still a functioning cemetery but at least the pathways had been mown so it wasn't too hard to get to the GZ and find the cache. Surprisingly we found a TB within, which we retrieved, as there had been half a dozen other cachers who had visited here previously who didn't retrieve the TB nor log it as being discovered! Bizarre!

Had a slow walk around reading some of the headstones, old and new. It was a nice easy find.

Having made plans to go caching as our usual tradition on Good Friday; Ghihash and I change our plans on Thursday night from the Mega to Riddles Creek due to bad weather and time restraints.
We took Ghihash’s car thinking we won’t need the clearance for the day. We started with the caches in Carsruhe before heading to Riddles creek.
I love old cemetery’s first of many for todays caches

Having just one day off this week I asked k9team if she wanted to go to the mega, however realising that was a 3 hour drive there and a 3 hour drive back with unfavourable weather we decided to go caching in Riddells Creek. On the way I saw I still hadn't done the caches in Carlsruhe so we spent some time before lunch finding all the caches here.
Thanks feathertop for adding another cemetery cache to the genre.

A beautiful little walk up the hill to this cache. The view is rather nice here! A travel bug I picked up in Thailand has been left

*Cache find #1240*
The Cache Whisperer had to come to Woodend today to taste beer at a local brewhouse. Yes, it’s his job. I just heard “geocaching” somewhere in the conversation, so came along for the ride. We geocached around Woodend and Carlsruhe today and learnt a lot about the area.
What a great little cemetery. Beautiful views to the east and very peaceful surrounds. Glad to have found this vintage cache!
Thanks for highlighting this historic place and for hiding the cache for our enjoyment feathertop. Cache on
**The Cache:** Good condition. TNLN, signed log as Let Them Eat Cache, LTEC or something in between. Replaced as found.
*Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Explore. Dream. Discover.* **Mark Twain**

While walking to the cache we stopped to admire each grave we saw along the way. It’s quite sweet really. We noticed some of the people were even 100 years old. Or quite recently died.
Thanks for the cache, signed and replaced as found!

Such a huge area for so few graves. Very close to my 1st home in Australia at Cobaw. Thankfully no wriggly guardians here. Many thanks
Eerily my compass was so off. But it soon sorted itself out after walking 60m in the wrong direction. TFTC
Quick stop before rejoining the highway.
Love the history in these places...

This was a nice quick find in an interesting and historic location. Pleased that the grass had been mown in paths so we didn't have to push our way through the seriously wet, long grass. Thank for the cache and bringing us here.
This was old cache which I like to try and find. Pleased that we did as this was at an historical site that we both spent some time looking around and reading the inscriptions. Thank you for placing the cache and keeping it going for so long.
We found two caches here, 10m apart. We split up to wander and find the cache, then everyone found it, lol. The original and a replaced log. We signed both! We seem to have been to every cemetery in the district. Someone likes hiding caches in them. This cemetery was different to every other one, very spread out and random. Tftc.
IdiotLairds found it!

A nice wander around in a dark cemetery, i really upset rhe dogs across the street.
I'm in Woodend for a work thing for the next couple of days and decided to sneak out early in the morning to get some caching in. I actually got to meet Feathertop at a event in Geelong not too long ago so thanks for the hide
Found this on the way back from Bendigo.
Added as a draft and never came back to it until now.
I did love these caches. Local and state history

Got a lil puffed out climbing up, found this with my dad! He found a grave of someone who was only 12 days younger than him! (He’s 63)

While caching around here realised I’d found this in the distant past but forgotten to log. TFTC feathertop
One day out on parole from Covid lockdown for us country folk allowed us to visit country towns and support businesses. Was a glorious day with full sunshine to soak up 7 geocaches for the day. Found @ 11:55am by AK
I started today fairly seedy. I had enjoyed some port around my campfire the previous night and not got going as early as I had hoped. But I had decided to just amble along.
Found the cache easily, but it was in pretty poor condition. The plastic container cracked and was so brittle it was falling apart in my hand. Years spent out in the weather had taken its toll. There was only one thing for it, trudge back to the car, swap the contents into a new container, trudge back to gz and replace. Besides, with this hangover, I’m not going to be setting any “found it” records today.
TFTC and bringing me to this peaceful location.

Quick find on a girls week end away. Saw an amazing mob of about 15 kangaroos in the tree area. TFTC
