Took us longer than it should have lol but we got there so don't dispear keep looking!
I walked aroud and looked in several trunks but didn't find te cache. Is it still here? But the views are marvelous
I'm staying in St Arnaud for a few nights and after my arrival this afternoon, explored some of the village then went out to check out the start of the Mt Robert walk (which I planned to do tomorrow.) Took a walk out to this stunning lookout and made a quick find of the cache here. TFTC!
Since my surgery was postponed, I was able to come out today to fill in my calendar loop naturally. I headed to Saint Arnaud and up to this area for a few finds.I was already off the trail when another couple came up to the lookout. After I found the cache, I explained what I was doing so they didn't think I was doing anything else less wholesome. TFTC.
We did the loop walk today, up Pinchgut and down Paddys track, after parking the car I suggested to quickly walk over here, I had heard of the nice view... Things you do when hiking with non-cachers. Glad they were ok with the short detour before starting the main track, while they were reading info panels I made the more or less quick find. Had to walk in circles but then found and signed it.
Went for a walk with the fam and found it while looking at some amazing views. TFTC
Tftc out on a multiday with victoriousone and mumandme, stayed an extra night at Angelus to do some exploring.
Morning walk coming down from Bushline Hut. Great to pick up another few caches and soak in the view of the lake in the morning light, tftc!
2726. Mrs ToT on fire with her cache finding skills today. A quick find on an absolutely stunning day. TFTC!!!
Great place for a hide.
It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit and take in the view, while we ate lunch.
Time seems to pass at record speed whilst caching, so lunch is probably considered afternoon tea in some places.

Cool cache with help from paddle chick after coming down the hill good to take the packs off at the car and walk with no weight great hide tftc.
Tftc. We are a family of 5 travelling our great country in our house bus. Check us out on Facebook or YouTube . @ourkiwibuslife
I am up in the area for a week of work and today was my day off so up Speargrass Creek I go. This was my 16th and last find along the way. I stopped briefly at the vehicle to change out of my soaking wet clothes before realising that this one was closer than I had thought. Still raining lightly, but not too unpleasant.
Having started the Speargrass trail on Tuesday I'd planned to do this 1 when I came out...but ended up back at St Arnaud instead. Then met some TA walkers who needed a ride up to the Speargrass track start so I offered to bring them and in the process I hunted this cache out as well. Was standing for a monen5 thinking "am I missing something?" Then turned around to find exactly what I was looking for

After delaying our walk due to rain it was nice to finally get out. We had a false start parking further down the Mountain, but once we found the very last carpark we were in our way! TFTC. TB retrieved.

Nice views from here, we also liked info tables. Today's rainy weather was without long distance views, but lake and surrounding hills were visible. Visited just after sunrise. Thank you for a nice cache, it's in a good condition. Greetings from the Czech Republic!

Having a weekend away in Nelson after a long lockdown Drove up to St Arnaud to enjoy some beautiful scenery and walks. A very cold start but we soon warmed up. Thanks to the COs - We can’t wait to come back one word for up here. WOW TFTC
One upside from the recent lockdown period is that it gave me the opportunity to think about some day walks and overnighters that I've wanted to do for a while but never got around to. So, with NZ regaining some sense of freedom I set off for one such walk - the Mount Robert circuit.
Any thoughts of a reasonably solitary walk were quickly dashed as I approached the car park. If I'd left it much later I'd be parking some where further down the hill; just two parks left when I arrived shortly after 8:30.
Having booted up and packed my thinks for the day I thought I'd knock this one off in case crowds or time prevented me finding it later. With crowds only a hundred metres or so away it was nice to take some time to look down over the lake before I set off.
A fairly auspicious start as I made what is a straightforward hide more complicated - and tree involved - than I needed to. The first of a few 'oldies' I would find today.
Thanks eraserman

Oh what a lovely spot, I don't think I've been along here before though I have been to the carpark a few times. We came and searched for this after a walk into Speargrass Hut and onto the next cache. Took us a while to locate - - - we had the right idea and checked one stump thoroughly - - - then discovered there was more than one stump. Thanks for hiding this oldie and keeping it going .
Found it after a little search. Thank you for the cache in this beautiful location!
With Speargrass Hut bagged its time to revisit this amazing lookout. Lots of info boards to read now we have time. Now to snag and tag this one. Cheers. Time to go home. Its getting late so we missed icecreams at Karens.
The Seagnoid, Toby and I are off to explore Speargrass Valley at St Arnaud. Leave Toby at track end and start walking.

I found it on a walk around the lake.
Thanks for cache.

We arrived in the afternoon when the sun was shining, so grabbed this one in stifling heat. Nice views. TFTC
Not allowed to drive the motorhome past the new bridge, so I biked up to the car park. That hill is grunty in places! Broke up the grind by looking for caches on the way up the hill, which gave a great unbroken ride back down
Fantastic views, worth the short walk.

A quick detour to this one on the return from our walk to speargrass hut and back. Capperz spotted first, all good here but no TBs or anything. TFTC eraserman.
I was planning a couple of caches, maybe local ones, for this Sunday until Capperz mooted the idea of a walk up Speargrass track. Had to say I had not researched it much, but he had been along it before on a return from Angelus when the cache pickings were slim. Apparently a few more now, and I think these were bugging him. So with my incursions into the St Arnaud area pretty much consisting of a couple of PnGs while negotiating the inland route to Chch and nothing more, I was up to exploring a track and getting some exercise.
Arrived probably just after 9 am, parked up and got stuck in. It was a pretty steady walk and we made good time. Checked rodent traps as we went, something we are trained in from our Grovetown lagoon experiences, and are pleased to say we ‘released’ one victim. The caches themselves were all found, the odd one or two offering challenges due to GPS flutter, clue interpretation or whatever, but all in good shape.
Reached the hut, lunched and took the side track to the satellite cache which showcased an impressive boardwalk, interesting change of vegetation and a nice view to boot; then turned back for the trek home. Gotta say the constant dodging of tree roots along this track which made the trip there interesting soon made the trip home a bit annoying. In spots anyway. But again we made good time, pretty much having it to ourselves apart from a group we found trying to retrieve a shoe from a bog.
So thanks for all the caches. This is going to be a cut and paste log so sorry for that, but an indication all was good as we moved through.

Our Christmas this year was spent with the very very extended whanau, introducing the overseas portion of them into Chrismas in the bush.
So we sorted out the logistics of all of us, and found this cache before leaving the carpark on the first day.
They had no idea what they had been signed up to at this stage yet!

Heading away for a few days towards Murchison with the extended whanau for a bit of hiking and some caching on the way, signing the log books as Team Polak for all of us. The rest of the team were still getting ready for the hike so we made a dash for this one. TFTC!!
Thx for placing this cache at this great spot. Found it on our way from Nelson to the west coast.
After the time spent looking for the last cache, this one was a nice quick find. All good here still. tftc
It was pouring that day and we drove quite some distance until it cleared up. At the I-Site we got the hint to go up here and enjoy the view while it stopped raining and that was a great idea. The drive up was fun and the view even better. This is definitely one of the best panoramic spots we have seen in New Zealand. Unfortunately, we will also remember this place as the first encounter of sandflies before meeting them everywhere Still, the cache is great and I can definitely recommend a visit here to everybody reading this. Thanks for hiding this cache!
Oh what a gorgeous view! quick find, thanks a lot for leading me here! First cache of my Mount Robert tour today!
We came here just for the view on the lake. That was amazing and we found a nice little patch of grass for some rest. After grabbing the cache we had lunch at the carpark with the similar nice view. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Germany ,

We had two wonderfull days in the Nelson Lakes National Park. We stayed at the very new campside called teetotal, basic but nice. On the second day we did the popular hike to mt roberts and the other way down to the carpark. We found some nice caches but also had two DNFs, but their probably gone.
Last cache of the day. After returning back to the carpark we walked a little further to this viewpoint. Nice cache. Left a TB here.
Thank you very much for this nice cache on this beautiful hike!
Greetings from Switzerland , Team Fludia

Found after doing the Mt Robert Circuit Track. Mrs Sharpe took the hard way, bush bashing to find the cache but was quickly found in the end! Now off to Christchurch, it's going to be a late night, but was great to get all these caches. TFTC
Well a few months ago I didn't expect to be down this way quite so soon, but after having completed the requirements for the DGSc Challenge my very Good Wife surprised me for my birthday with some tickets from Hamilton to Nelson return so that we together could have a caching weekend. (now those that may know my wife wil understand that the terms caching and weekend wil ever rearly be used in the same sentence).
So of course the weekend was more about sightseeing in the limitied time that we hand and finding the 25 caches that were on my list which mainly included the older caches, earthcaches and large caches. In total we found 30 caches and covered 870kms while enjoying being in afar different environment than we were used to.
So taking the remaining part of the Friday off of work, and arriving in Nelson at 3pm it was a chance to grab the rental car and start by making our way to Reefton where we would spend our first night. The second night was to be spent in Punakaiki, so tonight we head to St Arnuard for a bit of a relax by the lake
This cache being the twenty third of the weekend. Nice drive up here and a walk out to the lookout, thanks for brining us here for the views alone are worth it
Thanks for the cache, Thanks for the placement

After we enjoyed the tramp and the stunning view (first it rained but than the sun came out) from the top of Mount Robert, we had a short stop at the lookout point. Many pictures were taken Thanks for this cache!
On a caching trip via Chch, Hanmer Springs & onto St Arnaud.
Mr Swiss decided that a drive up the mountain to see the view would be a great idea AND he was right! We were rewarded with loads of info, great views and a couple of caches.
Grabbed the TB as it's been here a few months.

Ninalila and I spent a few days visiting around Nelson's lakes and Karamea.
We went hiking to discover nice places and landscapes, and of course play geocaching at the same time
We found all the boxes without difficulty and discovered really good spots for photography.
We will keep good memories from everything we saw (Lake Rotoiti, Lake Rotoroa, Mt Robert, Moria Gate Arch, Mirror Tarn...)
It was a good opportunity to see a lot of native birds on each tracks we went.
So surprising to see them so close and get great pictures
We signed on logbooks with our team nickname : Lekiprokos
Thank you to all owners and their boxes for the discoveries we made.

fefe.adrien and I have visited the Nelson's lakes during few days and spent a great time.
Nice to see a preserved fauna & flora at the lake Rotoiti, many birds were so closed ! Nice waterfall at the lake Rotoroa.
Geocaching was perfect for walking and tramping around, especially the Mount Robert : such a nice view from the summit !
All of boxes were quite easy to find and well maintained but to many boxes found to make the difference in each log.
we logged with our team name : lekiprokos

Thanks for that cache. Since I had no pen with me I just put my geochoin in there as a prove. Pleas pick it and bring it to another place. Cheers.
This cache was quickly found whilst waiting for our ride to Nelson after completing the Sabine Travers circuit. The views here today were stunning. TFTC
The weather was great, so we decided to drive up from the lakeside walk carpark to enjoy the views. This was a great idea and it would have been rude not to grab the caches. The Mt. Robert circuit has to wait for another day, so today it was just this quick find. TFTC
Headed up to the lake for a sunday afternoon walk... weather has been cooking me in town lately - so nice to be up here in the shade. I know the shade won't last on this Mt Robert loop - but not too hot today.
Track seems busy - both car parks are full - so will be interesting to see how many times I get muggled today. No one in sight of this first cache - only a slight deviation off the main track.
All in order today. TFTC eraserman

Mrs Kiwimykl (GC name NZDi) had had a cr@p week at work and needed to de-stress. When NZDi needs to de-stress, she climbs mountains and today she suggested Mt Robert. Knowing this would be a physical challenge in her current state, I suggested perhaps we do some of the more gentler tracks out at Pelorus Bridge but NZDi wasn't having a bar of it as she needed something more serious to de-stress.
So I did a quick pocket query on St Arnaud caches and loaded them into the eTrex, we packed a lunch and some GC essentials, got into some appropriate attire and headed up the valley to de-stress. Arriving at 9.15am, the aim of the day was to clear as many caches as we could on the Mt Robert Paddy's/Pinchgut Track circuit and see how we went from there.
We did the circuit in a clockwise direction figuring we would have Paddy's Track pretty much to ourselves on the way up and may meet a few others coming up as we went down the Pinchgut and we were pretty much on the money with that assumption. Accordingly this was our last of 15 caches on the circuit and last of 16 caches overall.
A good GPS fix and hint made this a QEF.
Found with NZDi.

A weekend trip to Nelson to attend the event then cache our way back to Blenheim via Brightwater, Wakefield and 88 Valley Road was hatched earlier in the week and with Pi Day kindly offering up not one, but two shiny souvenirs, it was agreed that we would head over the hill, again!
Saturday morning to the Event, sleep in the car Saturday night (for me, the Seagnoid would take his bivvy tent and sleeping bag) then a long and slow trip back to bag as many caches as possible. Somehow though, this was lost in communication and the Seagnoid kindly volunteered himself to be Joe le taxi on Saturday night so the whole thing was brought forward 24 hours. My G P S has packed a sad and won't work anymore so I was on borrowed equipment and hastily loaded a G S A K list of potential finds, and some solved puzzles, and off we set at about 5:30 from sunny Blenheim. Grabbed caches before it got too dark to keep going, and managed 6 by torch light which helps towards one of my missing M G S C attributes, yay, just the Events to go now to qualify. At last it's Pi day. Wake up after an uncomfortable and too warm, then warm enough, then too cold night.
On the road home, the long way round, via Brightwater, Wakefield and 88 Valley and St Arnaud.
Another caching omission after a recent trip up here for a tramping day. A nice quick stroll from the car park and the cache was soon in hand. A good sized waterproof container with it's own irony.

[green] Suddenly I find this weekend is free, So capperz and I set off to the Pi Day event in Nelson. And to grab a few puzzles. Gotta get them souvenirs! And, since we are out there anyway, grab a few dozen caches along the way.
Spent Friday night in Grampions Reserve, got to the event, and now heading back to Blenheim via St Arnaud. Main objectives out this way - the wherigo and a letterbox cache. Those done, we are now heading home the long way, via St Arnaud.
Cappers, GH1670 and I cached around here a few weeks back, and we thought this cache a bit too far off. Now that Capperz and I are here again its a really short trip. Odd. Nice views, gets a favourite from me.
