A nice stroll through shaded bushland, so far from the blazing unprotected walk I had imagined. The cache was found on my second pass, in good condition nicely tucked away. Thanks for the placement.
Very quick find of an old cache in excellent condition. Thanks for bringing me to this bushland. Thanks for the cache and
Over visiting from NZ and using the time to do as much caching as other commitments allow. The wet weather over the last few days had dampened things down nicely and made for pleasant walking conditions today. I was surprised at the number of MTB'ers seen today, being as it was a Friday. .. According to Strava, I did 9.2km walking today with an elevation gain of 308m with 100% finds, so was pleased with that.A nice quick find here thankfully, after the extended search at the previous cache. TFTC
I was driving down West Mount Cotton road and decided to visit this cache. A great day for a walk. All in good condition. Thanks for placing. Cheers
An enjoyable morning walk of 8km finding 15 caches and one DNF, with my non-Premium friend sausage3. After walking the southern section, we drove to Gate 5 and walked to the final four caches in this area. Coordinates are good and cache in good nick. Signed the original logbook - plenty of space in it. For some reason there are a lot of pieces of paper with signatures. Tftc
Regarding our visit to Eastern Escarpment Conservation Area, baby Cottontail and I set out on this walk from West Mount Cotton Road at 11:30 hr. We ended up walking a total distance of 2.7 km across an elevation of 55 m, with a moving time of 0:45 hr and elapsed time of 1:20 hr, as per my [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/11342607248). A few MTB-ers were utilising the trails, but otherwise, it was a reasonably quiet area walking up/down the terrain.I know this "oldie" cache well, as it has been near the top of my Q1000 oldie list given its double quotation mark and alphabetical sorting. This was our last cache of our walk today, and a quick find at GZ. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. We didn't see any horses today, but plenty of evidence that "giddy up" is a common expression around these trails. Thanks THENANKS for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 08/2006 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.----------This morning, baby Cottontail and I travelled south to Mount Cotton to do a couple of short bushland walks. After visiting the Karingal Scout area, our first loop in the Sandy Creek Conservation Area was from the aptly named Warren Street, followed by a loop in the Eastern Escarpment Conservation Area from West Mount Cotton Road. It was then time to head home for the lunch / early afternoon nap via Gundagai Drive Park playground, and we completed the [Belmont Tramway](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/f16b4486-c0ce-4373-a6e3-56ed30d6061c) Adventure Lab and learned of its history between Norman Park and Carindale.
29/03/2024 - 10:40Out for a stroll and adventure over the long weekend. Earmarked this spot as our destination with so many caches and tracks in close proximity. This was our first for the day. Quick and easy find!marcussjd9#206TFTC
An early morning start to the day with echocage1.On both our target lists so it was nice to be able to get this one.TFTCache THENANKS
Out with hatzofff for an early morning cache run. This was first pony to be ridden this morning. TFTC
Failed to get a ride so had to hoof it to GZ. Not sure why I've not collected this one in previous visits across the river but that issue has now been rectified. The cache title failed to provide a ride out and the corral was deviod of 14 hand neigh-ors, shetlands or elephants so again hoofed it to a close by cache. TFTC THENANKS.
What is this? An oldie TeamARF has not yet found?? Quickly located and lovely location for a stroll TFTC
Lovely bush area. Quick find. Took the TB and left some swag. TFTC THENANKS
A pretty easy find, road over the location a far few times and today I decided to see if my hunch was true. Had to come to the web site to log this cache.

I have visited this area a couple of times riding the MTB trails. There is never time to stop on those outing as we are always on a mission to keep up with whoever is the ride leader for the morning.
Hence I decided to put the word out for a couple of like minded Geocaches for a Geocache ride through the park. Seems the terrain rating around here scared off most other geocachers from the ride. So today was the day, damn it was hot and humid but VWtaxi and Stealth seeker turned up for the torture test ( ride). VW failed at the start with serious mechanical issues - one needs air in both wheels to ride these spots.
This was the first cache for the morning and yes an old one to boot ( not sure why I've never found this as i have found a few of the caches cousins in the Redlands district.
Now off to the rest of the caches, well trails we have a Cotton Mountain to climb/ride.

7/7/21 Find #4862
School holidays were not only well upon me, but fast drawing to an end. Today I decided to take some time to go find a few older caches, I have a couple of challenges I’m working towards, so am slowly chipping away at them.
Getting the all-clear from 1GiantPanda that I was not needed to entertain him and his mate on another adventure instead, I set off, slightly later than I probably should have to begin my day’s journey.
I had picked out some specific caches to start with and decided I’d see how things went from there.
A short drive from my previous find, and a short walk to make a quick find here.
Thanks for the cache THENANKS.

What a lovely area. Saw this oldie and had jtime enough to grab a few more caches before school pick up loomed. TFTC and keeping this oldie going THENANKS
My wife and I had spent the morning walking around the Mt Cotton reserve and finally we were at our last cache and close to our car. I noticed that my wife had picked up some pep after she had worked out that the bush walking was done and we would be soon at the shops.
That’s the life of a geocacher. One minute you are enjoying the tranquility of the bush and the next you are carrying the bags as your wife fills them up with things to buy. tftc

For a minute there we thought we were stumped. No hole in the top like we expected. Wandered off to look elsewhere, came back and spotted it nicely tucked away. Very good.
Thanks for the cache. All good here.

It’s always a nice surprise to find a log book that goes back 14 years... From reading the log it’s easy to see how easy we have it with phones and more accurate GPS...

Now we are allowed to go a little way thought we’d get back into the bush for a Sunday stroll and collect us some caches. Tftc
This cache proved to be an extra bonus for the day, as it wasn't one we'd planned to look for. Thanks for placing and maintaining it for our amusement!
We parked the car and offloaded both the bikes and just as we were about to take off, Mr STW realised we'd forgotten to pump up the bike tyres. With mine already over the grate and looking fine, we decided to send him back to do his tyres while I waited. Now, what to do with 10 minutes to spare, a bicycle and a geocache only 200 metres away? I had the log signed and was back waiting for him, in fact, I had time to write the whole log too, before he returned and we could start on the trek up the hill.

Another bushwalk to collect some caches.
Perfect weather for the walk.

Happy Leap Year.
I've been to this bush land before many many moons ago and for the life of me I can't think or remember why I never got to these last three.
So on my way home today I thought I'd swing by for a few more. This one turned out to be straight forward, just how I like it after a long day caching in the hot sun.
Nanks for the cache

Headed south to the Redlands to track down a few older caches, it seems this area is blessed with quite a few we have yet to visit.
Haha, gotta love it when you check out the top of the most obvious spot, don't find it, then wander in circles for 5 mins before returning to that spot and find it tucked in behind! Murphy's Law

Monday. Today was a day of MTBing with Que Sera targeting some great caches in this area. This was our last cache find in this area today. We’d done about 5 hours of bike riding / walking and were feeling spent. We decided to take the slightly longer way to get this cache, as the other more direct pathway, although straighter, was clearly marked as private property. It was a bit strange though, because we hadn’t crossed any boundaries that we were aware of, and yet, when we came to the solid metal gate, we were on the other side of the signs! We spotted a log on the other side of where we’d found the cache which had large red lettering on it – looked like it said “trespass” so we were glad we got on the correct side of the fenceline.
This was the 18th of 19 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***THENANKS***, for showing us this place.

Mrs slow puncture and I decided to take our bikes to find 19 caches along these tracks. We started at Charlie and finished at giddy up It took us 5 hours and there were lots of times we needed to walk our bikes but other times it was a nice breezy ride. This was our last cache on this trail today and I was not feeling so giddy up . We were able to ride here but I didn't have the energy to hop back on my bike for the short ride back to the car so I walked while watching Mrs slow puncture ride for a little bit then decided it was much quicker to ride. Afterwards we went to a local nursery for well deserved pumpkin scones where we saw a peacock showing off. Thanks for the great fun today.
I've been meaning to start on the caches on this side of West Mt Cotton Road for a while now.
I chose a lovely day for a walk and the bush ihere is lovely and the tracks are okay as well.
It wasn't long before I arrived at GZ for "Giddy up!". Had a bit of a look around before spotting it in its hidey hole.
Log was signed and cache returned to where found.
Thanks for placing cache THENANKS

On the way home i decided to detour to find the 17 caches in the Mount Cotton reserve. This was the last one left and perhaps it was too dark but i couldn’t find any trail so it was a bush bash to GZ.
Out with E_smiley and geogirl today tidying up the area and collecting old caches. This loop was a really nice walk! A quick find was made at GZ and geogirl loved going through the swag TFTC!
Had an enjoyable day today with geobuddies. We collected caches in the area.
TFTC THENANKS. Took a tiny spider and swapped with a pathtag.

I was out caching this morning and cleaning up a couple of caches leftover from series around the Ford Rd area. After that, I looked at the map to try to work out where to go next. The closest cache was a walk of a couple of kilometres through Daisy Hill and there were some others in Springwood but I wasn't keen on urban caching this moring. So, even though it was a long drive around, I decided to come here and find a few of the caches on West Mt Cotton Rd.
I parked at the closest access point and headed straight to this cache, which was the closest. At GZ, my GPSr led me around in a circle and then right to the cache for a quick easy find. I took the trackable and had a quick flick through the log book before signing. I always love finding an original log book in such an old cache and it looks like it's never even been wet.
Thanks for the cache.

31/7/18 Out for a couple of quick caches after work. A reasonably quick find. Left TB. TFTC
Ooh lovely. Another THE NANKS cache. We did the circuit and climb up Mt Cotton before stopping here to grab these 4 caches in this little section of bushland. This one was really quick to find. We left some swaps for kids that come along in the future. TFTC
We are loving our walk through this bushland today. At GZ, we made a quick find which put a happy smile on our faces, given how long we had been searching for the previous geocache on our walk.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this geocache, we are heading further along the Trail in the hope of perhaps finding some more.

Nice wander here, quick find and paperwork completed and cache replaced where found. TFTC
A chance for a quick cache as I was passing nearby gave me the opportunity to come and grab this one. All is well with the cache. Thanks THENANKS!
It was getting dark, but we thought why not find just one more cache for the day . So we parked near GZ and walked over. We had a brisk walk along the trail until we reached GZ. Once we arrived at GZ and after a quick search we had the cache in hand . Thanks for the cache THENANKS . TFTC!!!
Beautiful afternoon walk, saw two wallabies or kangaroos bounding off to the right of me. Cache was in a great little hidey hole. Giddy up . Tftc
We are heading toward a milestone event, so we decided to set ourselves a challenge to achieve a few milestones all at once. To manage this however, we have found ourselves on the dark side of town where there is an abundance of caches not too far apart ... perfect for our requirements
Fortunately, all the caches we found today seemed to be pretty straight forward and we managed to add our name to the log book without any difficulty. We certainly enjoyed our day out exploring this little area of bush land.
This particular cache however had suffered damage from age, but Mr Just a Trifle had some gaffa tape in his backpack which he was able to use to help keep the container going for a little longer [^]
Thank you THENANKS for having placed the series and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

After a work meeting and voting yesterday, I decided to do these caches. Nice easy find. TFTC!
Captain Terror and I had planned to spend this weekend grabbing a few caches to help us reach our mini milestones whilst on holidays in a few weeks time. Fangsoki, Pprime and Dosshell were also out caching today so a plan was made to tackle this area together. After meeting up late and splitting up halfway around Captain Terror and I were on our way to this last cache so we could then head back to the car and meet up again with the other guys.
I was the only one at this point to not have found this cache and since it was only a short detour I could see no reason why we shouldn't head there. When I got to GZ the cache was spotted in no time at all. With my name added under Pprimes earlier entry we replaced all as found and headed back to the car. Thanks for the cache THENANKS.

It was a gorgeous day and I decided to break the routine and get outdoors for a walk. The options were Manly foreshore or come to a reserve and a bit cooler shade. The reserve won and this cache was the first target on the walk.
Trekked down the path, spotted a likely GZ but the smartiephone compass wanted me a bit further. Well OK, let's see what and where we might have. A few checks around the place and an inviting little feature caught my eye near where the compass had stopped me. And sure enough there was a logsheet to sign...
Left Brown Dino TB that's travelled with me for way too long.
All good here. TFTC, TheNanks!

We had some time this afternoon, and also had four little green spots to remove from the map. This was the first. It was a reasonably easy find but there were no horse-prints around today. No one, actually - not surprising as the westerly winds were bitterly cold. Found at 3.15pm on 17th July 2015. TFTC
Giddy up indeed! A horse would have been ideal and more and more we want to try geocaching on horseback. Although we have heard of a cache attached to a horse and you can only get it at feed time haha. Maybe a power trail for horses with all the caches at horse hieght.... Anyway we Found this before heading back to the car and to tackle others on the mountain! Tftc. Recovered and returned in a cool reserve.
Easy walk to this one. Looked at the most obvious feature at GZ, nothing. Spread out for a wider search and looked back to see cache container hidden in plain sight. TFTC.
Another good find while enjoying the drive around the area today.
Soon had the cache found. TFTC

I arrived here full of vigour and vim ready to do the Mt Cotton "power trail" and what better place to start than this great old cache! I was not on horseback but galloped down to GZ quickly because it was going to take most of the afternoon to reach the summit and back.
The likely location held the cache and things were in good condition in there. Thanks THENANKS for placing this one here. TNLN

I was offered the opportunity to accompany the less attractive half of Couchmen on a bit of a bush walk to find, not only caches, but also the summit of Mount Cotton today.
We are good to go!
Hmmm ... the name still has me thinking but nevertheless we made a quick find of this cache.
Nicely placed.

Mr Linden/6 & I (Mr Couchmen) decided on a more difficult day today so Mrs's Linden & Couchmen decided to just let us go by ourselves.
It was hot but with the cloud cover, a nice breeze and an occasional sprinkle of rain it was actually quite pleasant!!
"Giddy Up" Hmmm not sure about that, might be a bit painful, but we reckoned on the hide location as we approached and the prize was revealed soon after!
Thanks The Nanks TFTC SL TNLN
