Found with LittleBoss2 and Geo the puppy as we collected a few caches around the area. Just getting to log this one now. Thanks to Romax the legend, and to Claybol for maintaining this quality cache
Found with Bogonghazy and Geo dog. Thanks claybol for taking on this cache. Enjoyed this one
Tftf. Grandkids left a swap. Spending a couple of days in Bendigo catching up with them
Found with my muggle friend arfter I finished work. With plans to hang out Saturday night but still needing to find a cache for the day I brought my muggle friend with me on the search. Nice quick find at gz. Thanks romax for creating this cache and claybol for maintaining it.

A nice bit of bushbashing to round out our day on our way home. Not quite a shortcut, but drove straight through Taig Track from Axedale.
My GPS started behaving badly here after a pretty good day. I'd had a look at the original & current cache owners & had an open mind at GZ. Great work & hide. Many thanks

Geo dad off to get this one today. Scooter underfoot he headed off. Tails here were great to travel on and wasn’t long and he was at the GZ. For a moment I thought “ did you forget you axe “ but thank goodness it was not required today. Love the nice snug hiding place and after adding the smile to the log and our Bendigo area geo map for this weekend, we were off again. Next stop Harcourt area. TFTC
Lovely walk in the bush, we always find the easier way out than in when finding a cache. Nearly tricked us, but we have seen some of these types of hides before. Clever cache. TFTC
Thank you Claybol and team Romax. What a simply beautiful hide and concept. Excellent!
Our aim today as we head to Bendigo for a family party was to collect some of the many older caches that have been placed in and around the area which have survived the axe over the years. We were able to take the track into GZ, weaving and winding through the bush to find this well camouflaged cache.
Thanks Romax for the clever hide.

After a quick trip to Bendigo with geomiss to grab some essentials from Woolies, I quickly found myself sidetracked, looking for a cache to grab on my way home...and I selected this one. Glad i did. What a great cache. We were able to drive within 25m of GZ and the coordinates were pretty much spot on. TFTC Romax
This one has been sitting there for years waiting for us to get it.
Well today was it!
We decided this morning that we would return home from Bendigo via this cache.
We had a nice little drive through the bush. Not by the recommended route... sometime it pays to read the Directions contained within the Description!
Anyway it worked and we didn’t come to grief.
We only walked about 40 m to the cache, which we easily found. We returned via the recommended route and were back on the tar before we knew it.

Another awesome Romax hide [:X]
I had a job interview in Ballarat and so Rex and I headed off for a 3 day trip which gave us the chance to spend some time in the bush around Bendigo on the way Harry gets into some amazing places and a couple of motorbike riders couldn't believe their eyes when they saw us
I didn't get the job (although now I have a much nicer one![^]) and we did get to cache some great spots and views! [^]
I got to see Kryal Castle (well the outside at least) which I had visited about 34 years ago when my daughter was only 2 years old , I saw the fog and cloud from Mt Warrenheip as we cached in drizzly rain , I found what I thought might have been a puzzle cache GZ but it sure wasn't [xx(][xx(] although it was a plastic container in a hole in a tree [xx(] and on the way home, we had memories of Adelaide as we found a cache in the Mount Lofty Reserve
All up we DNFd 3 caches and we found 34 caches.
As I have been about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby
I love the bush sights in Victoria [^] and the history and stories of the determination of the pioneers. [^]

Suscoe was heading homewards today from Bendigo via some caches we wanted to visit between the Calder and the McIvor / Northern Highways as well as a stop in Melbourne to sort out a virtual that we had been interested in.
So it was an early start to proceedings and thankfully a mild morning to head off in.
We saw some wonderful countryside around the east of Bendigo, the Lake Eppalock region, Redesdale, The Mount Macedon area and down the way to Sunbury and finally the laneways and arcades of the Big Smoke.
Thanks to Romax for this hide, we enjoyed the drive in along a pretty good dirt track, so peaceful out here.
A nice cache and great spot.

Found today on my way back from Heathcote. I appreciated the effort gone into constructing this cache. i enjoy the bush locations. Thanks Romax
Maintenance check found container and contents in good condition.
However overgrowth on the recommended access tracks has made it preferable to enter via the track adjacent to Shanahans Road where a "drive by" can be made to GZ.

Out geocaching for the day and to see if we can reach a few more stars in the planet pursuit. Great day out.TFTC
Day two away with my kayak, and heading back to Lake Eppalock to attempt the other four caches, plus a few random caches on the way there and back. Cache 3 for the day and a nice job on the camouflage.
My thanks to Romax for the cache.

Poor lonely old cache needed a visit. The road in can only be called 'interesting' but worth the visit. TFTC

Having a long weekend I decided to head off on another of my solo caching hunt trips. My main aim was to go and have a look at some of the caches in and around the Lake Eppalock area .
The day turned out to be a typical Melbourne day, all four seasons. From high humidity, to chilly winds and even a torrential down pour with a few cracks of thunder and a little lightening too boot.
From walking across lake beds to driving down rutted and dusty roads, it was one interesting day.
The temptation of a Romax Bush cache.... I had to go and have a look.
on first looks at GZ I thought the cache may have been muggled but after a bit more of a hunt I found another well made hide.

I was on my way today to attempt Melbourne's First Cache. I decided to go via Lake Eppalock. As it happens my route took me straight past here.
So why not pull in? Why not have a look and maybe grab a cache.
Why not indeed.
I drove in on a road which I strangely suspect was not the correct one, but the track was good so near enough is good enough in this case.
I wound around and wove in and out and soon enough there was another awesomely constructed cache.

Found it (not without incident - mum took a bit of a tumble and then I got a little bit lost going back to get the car to drive us to GZ) with geomum Bootsforwalking on this beautiful winter's morning. My little Barina thinks it's a 4WD and loves tackling these bush tracks! Another brilliant hide from Romax. So clever! Another favorite point from me. Thank you for the cache Roma and Max
Found on a nice drive around Lake Eppalock. With DoorMatt, TeamLauren and emthegem. Tftc
Found with emthegem, ronnienash and TeamLauren on the way back from a trip to Lake Eppalock. A short walk and a quick find for this cache. Thanks for the hide.
Being reluctant to take my Getz off-road, I parked at the start of a dirt track just off Shanahans Road and walked 600m to the cache, mainly cross-country as it turned out since the track quickly deviated off to the east. I didn't mind that at all because it was a nice day for a walk and I was happy to get some exercise. Sometimes knowing who the cache owner is can provide a good hint and knowing this cache belonged to Romax, I was fairly sure it wasn't going to be an ordinary bush cache. I was right. It took me about 10-15 minutes to find and I was not disappointed. Another great cache and a favourite from me - TFTC!
On a short get away trip to Bendigo,
We had planned to go up via the Calder and cross country to the McIvor and a few caches got in the way Through the forest we drove and although I have not updated my maps on the GPS for a few years now, we were able to follow a track to get within 20m in the wanbe 4WD that isn't .... see I told you it would be a drive by . loved the hide as always.
Our thanks again to Romax

I was nearby hunting a couple of puzzles and I was heading home grabbing any "drive-bys or close to the road" caches. This one doesn't really fit that description as a 300m walk in todays weather (cold, wind and on and off rain) was just to risky but looking at my GPSr I saw a track that took me much closer so selected 4wd in the geopaj and followed a narrow, twisty track to within 20m of GZ. SHort walk, quick hunt and cache in hand - another nice romax hide by the way. Thanks to romax for this one. And the track I used, a carefully driven road car would have made it easily!
A tricky little hide as usual Romax. It had me scratching my head for a few minutes.
Thanks for the cache in a nice little area.
Thanks for the cache in a nice little area.
out for a sunday drive with tamzy as we approached gz she told me two things one it wss a romax so think creative and two it wss premium at the time my premium membership had expired but now its bsck thanks for the cache romsx snother grest hide
While heading home from a Sunday drive caching around eppalock stopped off to grab this one, had cbjh1990 tagging along with me, we got about 300 meters away from the cache and started trekking closer, we then seen a track much closers that we could had drove to never mind! We had a quick look and then I told cbjh1990 two pieces of information I left out! One it was a premium cache and as his membership had run out he can't log it and two we need to think outside the box as it was owned by Romax!! Found after a quick search, dodged the huge ants, signed the log and moved on! TFTC
A big thank you to Romax for not letting Eugene disappear into woodcutting history [^]
I took the tour into the forest this afternoon and was satisfied with parking the geomobile about 300 metres away from GZ
It was hot out here though, so I got a shuffle on.
The trees in the local area have been taken too by chainsaws.
But not as suggested to reduce the fire hazard.
Rather the activities have increased the fire hazard by adding to the ground level fuel load [:o]
The 'mess' is the work of licensed firewood cutters a few months ago selectively cutting down trees.
They only want the chunky trunks and the smaller crowns of the trees are left behind, littering the landscape [:o]
Go figure !!
Anyhoo at GZ I did a few laps of the likely hiding place.
After four laps and a lot of poking and double poking I assumed the forces at work in this forest had found the cache and muggled it [:o]
The tell tale signs were all there.
A neat hidey hole....
Scattered rocks, probably used as camo....
Standing at GZ ready to claim a DNF, I had a momentary lapse of reason...
Good job I was standing in a forest out of earshot of everybody
That is an evil cache hide in my humble opinion
Geez, you almost had me [^]

This one has been on my todo list for a while. Today while on an Australia Day roadtrip to visit friends out past Eppalock we decided to try it. There were lots of branches everywhere on the ground today as the trees here have recently had their foliage trimmed to reduce fire risk I assume. This caused us to miss the track to GZ and after bush bashing in circles a few times we finally found the right track.
Found with Aveen and Bri Poi
Thanks Romax

Out with our caching friends the Walenator's. We decided to do a big cache run before we have to return to the real world of work! A speedy find by Wal & the Chief after a spin through the bush in our non4WD. The air con is so much better in this car than in the old girl. TFTC
Wondering around checking out the surrounds. Found this guy safe and sound. Well done!

# 342 - nice drive, gorgeous day out at Eppalock, this hide had me stumped for a bit, but got it in the end. A favourite from us, TFTC Romax
Well, that just prices that I am getting dyslexic in my old age.
Switching numbers around on my own hides as well as this one.
Love the hide and the drive in the bush with Cordy. Must double check coords next time and it would save me a while lot of time looking in a clearing for a cache clearly not there.

Today I decided to do a circuit Strathfieldsaye-Redesdale-Heathcote. This was my third cache on the list and while I knew it was a Romax cache, I didn't know what to expect being in the bush an' all.
After a 200m bush-bash (didn't know there was a closer track), I got to GZ and was puzzled for a minute until I sussed out the ingenious container, I tip my hat to you Romax! First time I've found this type of hide, well done and this earns a favorite. SLTNLN.

GeoKeegs took Nan and Grandad caching to help "get their eye in" before they tag along for the "Something beginning with C" event in November. The GeoDaewoo made it to within 20m of GZ - surprising everyone!
Congrats to Nan who actually discovered the cache quite quickly (leaving GeoKeegs, Grandad and I for dead).
Took - golf balls, Left- skeleton, spider and bat
Thanks Romax for another interesting cache.
PS - Beware of centipedes and ants nest at GZ.
