As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Found waypoints 1 and 2 last year, waypoint 2 now missing and cant find the final
[WP1 obvious even though it's not quite on GZ. Followed clue, but like previous cachers couldn't find WP2. GZ for WP2 was at a ] cabbagetree [ but the nearby landmark which we think the clue must be referring to is a ] bigpolealoneonthebeach. [ We searched ] anddug [all around it without luck. Pretty sure it must be gone. Starving Racoon, please delete the far too explicit encrypted descriptions once you've checked the cache! ]
While looking for WP1 stumbled across the cache itself pretty lucky, added 3 green gems, as had one for the WP's too.
Spot is nice but never could find the second one !
Pretty disapointed, specially because it was the first geocache seek for 2 of my friends, so I don't think they will keep on geocache. Too bad !!

We found WP1 easily however WP2 was not able to be found despite extensive searching in the presumed area. Retraced steps twice to check correct location.
Found first clue easy enough , but the second location has us stumped , although we reckon we know where it should be .
Found WP1, but struggled to find any information in the asumend WP2 area. Maybe more luck when we are back in this area.
That first WP is a bit of a PITA with such bad coords and no clues. At least the location is VISIBLE from the coords! I've updated the coords at WP2. Nice to make use of an update on the free GPS maps that I made a few weeks back too! TNLN,TFTC.
I have perviously found this cache however when I found it the final was in a rather obvious location. When I next checked on it the final was still there but it was only covered by stones. When I checked on it on the forth I could not find the final where it was. I checked a few other places but couldn't find it. I didn't get a chance to go back and have a really good look but I think its gone. The first two caches were fine. Sounds as if pef has fixed the finals location. The infomation in the secound cache will need to be changed from the sounds of it. I will change the infomation in the secound cache as the owner of this cache hasnt been online since 2007 so I will fix the cache at easter if it hasnt allready been fixed.

As one of the previous discoverers of this cache, I hope that it's original integrity is restored. It was a well, but obvious hidden cache requireing observation to discover as much as anything else.
as the others, found the first 2 but not the final, sometime around this date. will go back to have another look now we've seen the log explaining the move.
Our 250th cache had to be something special. Therefore we choose this multi. The first two WP were found quickly. But at he final destination it didn't look well. Somebody has driven up and down the beach with his 4WD several times. All vegetation has gone. The box was sticking out of the bare pebbles just next to the vehicle tracks. Fortunately it was still in one piece.
We couldn't hide it at the same place other than to bury it. So we choose a new location. The cache is hidden now 20 meters South East of the point where it used to be. It's at ground level and shouldn't be too hard to find.

No problems finding the two microcaches. However the piece of paper in the second was difficult to read as it was wet and mouldy. We spent far too long looking for the cache. The beach was a very popular place - lots of muggles in the high holiday season. Second microcache was in area of high useage by people using "surf kites".
also found two micros but not final despite two visits, think we found out of place object, not in thorns mentioned in previous log, but no cache.
We found the two micros easily -the second needs maintenance because the sheet of paper is wet and information can hardly be read - but we spent an hour without success to find the final.

Found by Mrs N!mrod through brains, not brawn. The final coordinates are good (lthough WP1 is a little off). When you get there, just look around you quietly for a while for something unusual. Don't be too quick to go scrambling through - it's not in thorns.
This one beat us Found the first two no problem. The third was a big problem for us. Dissapointed that the final coords were only in the general area. Pity that as there was a full gps coverage there. Gave up after retracing to second cache to recheck the lat long and trying again. Lovely area and lake views
WP1 was a bit out, but it didn't take long to find. A quick wander around the place and success. An interesting spot to hide it, rather obvious but well hidden! TNLN Thanks.
That was a good bit of fun, a multi with a little bit of a puzzle thrown in and a surprisingly clever hide, simple but obviously effective.
Enjoyed the visit thank you.

didn't find it today, but I hadn't read the last log. Will have another look this week if I get the chance.

Great day for a cache! Lots of muggels about but had no trouble retrieving the caches (sometimes it's great having a four year old with you)
First coords were out a bit, bu the geo-sense took over and soon found the first cache, the rest were great hides.

We picked a really beautiful evening to do this cache. The views across the lake were superb! Enjoyed the search and both the micros and final cache were soon found. We took a tape measure and left a sheet of fish stickers. Cycled back to the campsite to find the rest of the family fishing in the lake - no luck today! SL. TFTC.
Also logging in and out our England Geocoin.

Found ok,although coords at WP1 seemed a little out today.Strong wind off the lake but didn't seem to worry the lone watchman.TN/LN TFTC
Couldn't find the micro at WP 1. Maybe it wasn't our day. Didn't try too hard as there were to be lots of small plants where our GPS took us and we didn't want to trample all over them.
A great layout for a cache with an interesting spot for the final. A very cold wind coming off the lake so we didn't stay there very long.

Nice wee multi that turned out to be quite quick. Nice stroll beside the lake. TNLN TFTC
Was only in the area briefly so almost didn't do this one when I read that it had a "puzzle" element to it. I had visions of codes etc and didn't have time for that sort of thing. Of course, turned out to be nothing of the sort and was actually a quick, fun find. I was spotted by a woman walking her dog while I was filling out the logbook at the final. She was pretty interested in what I was doing and I wouldn't be surprised if she checked it out at a later time. So re-hid the final well. She didn't look the type to plunder or remove the cache anyway. Unfortunately a stiff wind off the lake meant I didn't hear her approaching.
Sorry, a bit late in logging my find. Nice walk along shoreline. Angel (dog) loves these walks.
A fun multi that didn't take the three kids in our group too long to find. In: Ballistics sticker. Out: Glow stick.
I found this quicker than expected, the wind was unbelievably strong and I had trouble walking against it.Left two books and took dice.
It seems as though weed spray has been used at the final location, everything looking very dead. This could cause problems.
+ a large dice, - nothing.
+ a large dice, - nothing.
Solved the sunbataher problem by turning up just after dark on a pretty cold day. Found the cache in no time flat and headed off to the nights accomodation. Last of a great days caching that started near Milford.
Found the first one nice and easy but the second no so.... Ran out of time so will go back next time I'm in the area...
Defeated! Found both micros OK and identified final general location, however access was restricted by a posse of sunbathers. Went away for a couple of hours (Timaru River) and returned to find that they were still there - had turned over to burn the other side! Had to leave it for today.
This was such a fun cache to do. We were impressed with the camouflage containers - excellent. Gorgeous view...

A realtively easy find, however I must say that it probably does violate the geocaching.com guideline regarding burried caches. Great spot though.

Found all cache's easily. Make sure you hide the last one properly as it was pretty muggle obvious when we found it!

We ended up trying to park at the cache location (read cache description)! Just as well, since it was starting to rain.
Were in Hawea today so checked on the cache all is well, put some more cover around the cache, waypointswere all fine.

Hi Starving Raccoon,
I am un-archiving this cache based on a discussion with Bitsprayer who visited the cache site for me today, in order to retrieve travel bugs (which were all gone from the cache - someone else has obviously moved them on).
I understand from Bitsprayer that the cache is not really "burried" as such but does have gravel scattered over it for cover - he could see the cache lid when he looked for it (which is ideal).
I have decided to allow it using my discretion as reviewer, though it is still a marginal call.

Despite Kev and Chris's opinions, the geocaching.com guidelines are quite clear about buried caches. this cache would not have been listed if the owner advised me that he shifted the first cache from the location that I rejected because it was burried to another burried location.
I am now archiving the cache on the back of information advising that some of the other waypoints ate also burried.

A team effort with slider4 and hawkeye on what the weather forcast said was to be a hot day. We had to return to the car to warm up at regular intervals.
(Although the micros and cache were buried two were in loose gravel about 20-30mm in size on a beach which was made up entirely this material and one under a large rock.) The hiding technique was not a great deal different from a lot of caches we have found hidden under large stones. I feel the closing of the cache is a little harsh as they were not hard to locate. Except that the first coordinates should be S44 36.594 E169 16.546. which two GPS units confirmed.

I'm also concerned about my geocoin that in this cache.
Starving Raccoon, can you please either change your cache to comply with the guidelines (hopefully Camocrab will still allow it if you do) or shift our coins and TBs to another cache.

[First find on a day of caching with kev n chris. First micro took a bit of a hunt agree with Southernkiwi that a clue would be beneficial due to the size of a micro. Second micro fairly straight forward to find. Found the cache fairly easily] after a scratch around in loose gravel. [Was a very nice area and one we will come back to on a calmer day.

Hi Starving Raccoon,
You will notice that I have restored one of my reviewer notes asking you to confirm that this cache is not buried to jog your memory about our conversation prior to my agreement to publish the cache. Specifically, you will recall that you Emailed me advising that you had re-positioned the cache so that it was no longer burried before I then published the listing.
Southern Kiwi's FTF log strongly suggests (well, openly states) that the cache is buried and therefore (it is my judgement) that this cache doesn't comply with the Geocaching.com guidelines.
I am therefore disabling this listing with the expectation that I will soon be perminantly archiving it as it doesn't comply with the geocaching.com listing guidelines (an action that I'm sure won't win you any fans amongst those who own the travel bugs and geocoins that are in the cache).
Can you please explain this situation to me.
Is the cache buried, if so, why did you advise that it wasn't? If not, what assurance can you give me that it isn't?
Does your other cache comply with the listing guidlines, or should I take the same action with it as well?
Regards,
camocrab

[Looks like we were the first to find. The first micro was hard to find as the GPS co-ordinates took me 12m away. A clue would be helpfull here as a micro can be hard to find. The first micro contained a clue but no waypoint for the second micro but it was easily found. The second micro contained a co-ordinate that said aproximate area. Hmmmm. Armed with the knowledge of the first micro co-ords being a bit out we searched the area but no luck initially until ]we started digging around a bit (I thought buring was a no no.)[ There may be a better spot for the final cache nearby. However it was a nice walk and a beautiful day thats for sure. +highlighter -geocoin and jeep tb]
