I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi Skytracker
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.
Regards

Sadly, no luck here. Maybe I just gave up too quickly? In anu case, a check would be most appreciated!
GPS lead to an obvious spot, but alas, no cache. Used the description and people’s photos to guide our hunt to the flax bushes by the swans but still no luck
Out at Otaki beach today. Never been here before and was most impressed. Beautiful beach. A few freedom campers. Some surfcasters. A few swans in the lagoon. And of course a cache. Thanks for bringing me here. Went for a little walk out to the mouth to further stretch the legs and enjoy the sights. And thanks for the cache.
nice straightforward find here today where we searched for it last time (when it was missing!), TNLNSL, as well as swans I saw a heron in flight on my walk back, TFTC
After going down to the beach with my Dad and the rainy weather now clearing up it was time to go and look for a cache or 3...
Quick find here with swan vistas indeed!
Thanks for replacing this cache wb1116

Was in the area so thought I’d give this a go even though I was discouraged by previous logs. Didn’t stay long as thought it possibly missing
WE slept on the beach and this morning I went to log this cache near our campervan.

Thank you WB1116 for getting this going again. At least it's not going to be archived now. Nice turn turn this blue into a yellow
#6688. The family had a lunch engagement with a friend up at Raumati. We headed up from a wet Wellington and were pleased to see blue skies and sunshine up here on the Kapiti Coast. After a nice lunch I needed a short afternoon nap induced by the big feed and a cold cider. I decided to head up to Otaki while the rest of the family and our friend went off for afternoon tea at Ruth Pretty's café at Te Horo. I parked just off the main roadway and wandered down the beach to the GZ. Lots of cars and muggles roaming around so I was glad it was hidden away from any muggles. Soon spied the tell tale signs of the cache and shortly after had the logbook in hand. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here Skytracker and to wb1116 for maintaining it.
Nice to see this one back up and running again, so thank you WB1116.
A quick and easy find, before the rush of after-work fishermen and sunset viewers!
I was able to drive up right next to GZ, which then meant my car was partially shielding me from Muggle eyes as I searched, and then as I signed the log etc.

I popped out to check on this old cache today. The original had gone, however there is a fresh replacement.
Cache is now a 500ml container with a 50ml container which has some waterproof logsheets.
It would have been a shame to see a 2006 cache archived, so as a community let’s maintain this cache to keep it alive.

Hi
It appears that this cache has been inactive for quite some time. Is it going to be replaced or should it be archived to make room for possible future caches? If the cache owner does not contact me within Three Weeks, I'll assume the cache needs to be archived.
While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.
I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.
Thanks for your understanding,
Regards,

This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.
It has been over a year since this cache has been found. Isn't it time the CO did something about it or GC admin archived it.

Found the likely GZ with lots of larger rocks nearby that are a bit out of place but no cache. Lots of driftwood around further inland and we're thinking that it may have been washed away especially when Cyclone Gita was passing through recently.
I was able to drive right up to the GZ and many cars further up doing there thing.
I was lucky that no one was around GZ and quickly made the find.
stunning day to be caching out this way, no TB in cache but everything else in good order thanks for bring me here

Enjoyed the walk along the beach even though it was a howling southerly wind. Nice easy find.
Easy find. Nice walk along the beach. No trackable in it like it says. Also no pencil. TFTC
Out for a day's caching in the area with SAROC and Yeetrees. Like other recent visitors, we found a spot that was screaming that the cache should be there, but the stones were scattered. So we put out a a replacement container, as this is an older cache and one that is well worth it to keep it going.
I haven't been this far alogn here before, so thanks for bringing me here.

Accompanied Yeetrees and Gonefishing on another excursion into the hinterland escaping Wellington We found a number of caches around Otaki and Levin in our journeys.
As Gonefishing mentions in his log we hunted about but there was nothing obviously there. Yeetrees pulled a replacement out of the back of the car so the cache could be replaced. Log signed we hid it away for the next cachers to find.
Thanks to all the CO’s who placed the caches for us to locate.

Had a good look around for this, but could not find.
Did find a likely looking spot with a surprising number of stones laying about, but no cache.

I'd found this cache before, but it was not at the location which I remember it to be.
I did find a suspicious hollow, and suspicious rocks around it, but alas no cache.
Might have gone missing.

Found it. Was full of water. Log book is a bit soggy. Tipped water out but it may fill again if seals are damaged. Tftc
Good find on a bike ride along the river and coast. Unfortunately the listed trackable has gone. Perhaps the finder just hasn't got around to logging it. Cache in good condition. TFTC
What a massive area! Came to collect the trackable, so thought it appropriate to leave another one in its place. Good hunting to you Elmar der Kater. Tftc
A nice walk to this location.
Droped our trackable here Lennie the Lifeboat man 9CV6ZP

Easy find. Lots of crashing waves and a good view of Kapiti Island. Dropped off TB. TFTC.
New area for us, quick find, thanks for the cache. The pad was a little bit damp but still usable.
A beautiful location near where we live but had never been before so a lovely find! Deposited a Geocoin we'd found earlier. TFTC.
Tftc. Thought I'd check this out an it was the perfect day. Dark grey sky and fat rain drops and the sound of waves crashing into the beach.
Found with Jesso22 while on a day off work out caching. Nice little walk to the cache which was very quickly found. Thanks for the cache
AtomsNZ and I decided to take Monday off for a girl's day out and go caching. Made our way South from Palmerston North picking whichever caches took our fancy along the way. Ended up getting 40 in total, that's a new personal best for me. Found some really good caches today, a fair few nice big containers, couple of multis and a few good walks, great girl's day!
The road looked a little dodgy and we didn't trust the car to handle it, so we opted to walk the last few hundred meters to this cache. Was a quick find once GZ was reached. Thanks for the cache

My only find on a social weekend away.. but it was a good one and appropriately named.. Went searching just before twilight and just before the cache had the thrill of checking out a spoonbill, plovers, banded dotterels, pied stilts and ducks through a spotting scope set up near by, thanks to a generous twitcher. Warrants a favourite for that.
This is our first visit to this spot and we were surprised how many people were around - camping, picnicking, fishing, walking. Perfect weather today, nice spot, easy find. Thanks for placing a cache here.
Out for an overnight visit to the beach. What better way to combine exploration with treasure hunting. TFTC.
Didn't think we would be able to drive to this one from looking at the map but we did! Little bumpy but got there and then for a nice quick find, thanks
Never been anywhere near this part of the beach before so quite enjoyed our visit. Drove past all the camper van muggles, right up to GZ for a nice easy find. Kapiti Island certainly looks different from this angle. SLTFTC
Lovely walk out to this one, after first taking a wrong turn and deciding not to swim across the lagoon!
I even saw a swan, just before the dogs chased away every inhabitant.
stealth is needed, especialy around this time.

Absolutely beautiful place out here. Would be very dramatic on a stormy day. TFTC
Nice cache on our way for a fish. The weather was wild. Picked up a TB and left SWAG. TFTC
Finally I managed to find a cache large enough to leave a TB which has been travelling with me for a couple of weeks. It wants to remain in New Zealand please, until it's owner can collect it. An interesting area, which I've never explored. Will have to return as my parents want some stones for their garden (little ones, not the big blocks, I hasten to add!). TFTC
Drove up close as unpleasantly cool NW wind.
Very busy with - not successful-- whitebaiters.
Easy find . TFTC

Nice cycle ride down the river from SH1. Plenty of Whitebaiters doing their thing. TFTC.
The second time here as last time their were camping muggles at the GZ. This time all was clear. Cache in good order. TFTC
10.05am. Yes, its in an obvious location. Quickly found by Mrs JF. Then surveyed the area we were in - the end of the journey for the river and for us also as we were about to head back homewards. Left a signature pathtag.

Plenty of swans on the lake today. Found it was a freedom camping spot, would be a good one too. TFTC
Quick find, caching on my way to Waikanae for a meeting. Swapped trackables. Thanks for the cache.
A popular spot midday on a Saturday. After admiring the swans, we found the cache then back to the car for our lunch while watching the fishermen and the sea. TFTC.
#7240. We didn't have much trouble driving to GZ; just had to take it rather slowly. Dropped off Canadian Postal Bear. Once the cache was sorted, it was time for a well earned lunch (good spot to watch the world go by). TFTC.

Just visiting today as we've previously found it, because we were introducing some young relatives to geocaching. They were soon getting the hang of using the gps, and tracked this down without too much prompting. Took a candle and a wee ball; left two scented highlighter pens. TFTC
I went and picked this up on Xmas Eve and had it back in its little nook less than 24 Hrs later all dry and refreshed. Heaps of swans around at the moment, so come and visit.
Cache was very wet. Drained the water out of it, and laid out a couple of items to dry for a few minutes. Logbook is fortunately ok, but cache needs a little tender care and a drying towel.
