This was fun to do this cache, especially when I got down to GZ. Stupidly, I ignored the hint and took the wrong route to GZ, so I had double back and find a less steep approach to the lower track. The tree near GZ is truly magnificent. I searched in the most likely places for the cache, but just couldnt find the cache. I didnt have my walking pole and vision was pretty poor as I was due for cataract surgery on Monday. I sat down to think, consult a PAF and look for a stick to poke in places my hand couldnt or didnt want to explore. The PAF met me at GZ, as we had planned to meet me there anyway to transport me to tonights event at Riddells Creek and pointed out to me that I was really close to the cache . I tried one more niche and the cache was in my hand! Thanks for maintaining this cache for our fun Riddell!
Found this one while caching around the area. A nice quiet area. An easy multi. Even got the maths right. A short lovelybwalk along here to the prize. TFTC.
I had come over the Melton to join the crowd at the **Intervening days CITO 2023** and the **Intervening Days (Revisited) XV** that followed it. Afterwards I headed down the Melton South to chase out this cache as I needed a Multi today for a challenge that I am working on. The plaque at the published location is showing its age... too much graffiti over the years I suspect... but is still readable. The whole area where the structure is located is closed off with orange barrier tape but fortunately the required information can be easily ascertained from a distance. With the brain given a minor workout, the coordinates for the cache were determined. Arriving at GZ, there seemed to be too many possibilities... however some good advice from an earlier log recommended *pay attention to the Terrain rating*. With that in mind, I went hunting and soon came up with the cache. Thanks to everyone that has had a hand in keeping this old cache going... which, if I have read the logs correctly, is now back in the hands of the original owners...
I'm currently chasing a souvenir - attempting a 28-day caching streak during July for the Wheel-of-Challenges souvenir campaign. Still have plenty of local caches to find, and still somehow maintaining the mojo and the momentum.
I headed north-west this morning for parkrun (there's another streak I'm chasing - 52 consecutive different parkrun locations finally achieved today!). After finishing the Toolern Creek parkrun here in Melton I did the usual and looked for a nearby cache. After finding one along the parkrun course I noticed this much older GC6 which was so close I couldn't resist. So I had headed to GZ (okay, it's a multi so I had WP1 to deal with too) and was faced with a brick wall. Or rock wall, maybe. Reading some of the logs, and with accurate co-ords, I was rather lucky to zone in on the cache quite quickly.
I was last around here in 2018 nervously getting some FTFs nearby in long grass along the creek. I usually cache in areas like this in long pants and gaiters, but today I was in running shorts (despite the 3 degrees start to the morning!) so I made a quick exit back up the creek (without a paddle, but with a smilie) and back home for breakfast.
Thanks, ian-and-penny & Riddell.

Day 1 of 28 - Drove to a local cache. Just a drive-by but a playground is always challenging!
Day 2 of 28 - Drove to an industrial area and then walked to a section of the FT for one cache.
Day 3 of 28 - Drove to the KCT and cycled 6km to a cache.
Day 4 of 28 - Cycled 25km from home, around KCT detours, to the FT, and then found 2 caches in the northern part of the KCT.
Day 5 of 28 - Drove to Geelong, completed an adlab plus bonus.
Day 6 of 28 - Found a cache near the morning's Brimbank parkrun.
Day 7 of 28 - Drove to the KCT and cycled 9km. A DNF followed by a find.
Day 8 of 28 - Cycled 5km to and along the Seaholme foreshore. Feet wet for a cache.
Day 9 of 28 - Drove to the FT and cycled 12km to the westernmost section of the FT geotrail for 2 caches.
Day 10 of 28 - Cycled from home and did a 34km loop including the FT from Williams Landing to Millers Rd, finding 2 caches out west.
Day 11 of 28 - Cycled from home and did a 10km loop for a cache at Truganina Park. A DNF followed by a find.
Day 12 of 28 - Rest from cycling. A quick drive-by in a Williams Landing park, with the challenge provided by the nearby playground environment.
Day 13 of 28 - Found 2 caches and 2 lab WPs near the morning's Sunbury parkrun.
Day 14 of 28 - Signed a challenge cache in Lysterfield (not good enough for this streak), then found a quick drive-by cache at Westona in the evening.
Day 15 of 28 - Cycled 21km along the Foreshore Trail to Williamstown. A DNF followed by a GC6 find.
Day 16 of 28 - Drove to Williamstown for the daily cache. A DNF followed by a multi find.
Day 17 of 28 - After a DNF on a FTF attempt in Footscray I found a cache at Truganina Park. This was a busier caching day than usual which included a second DNF, a missed TDOC FTF, and attending one of the TDOC Cachemas events in Williamstown.
Day 18 of 28 - Low on mojo on a cold rainy day, so settled for a quick local drive-by at Seaholme.
Day 19 of 28 - Biggest caching day so far - a 31km cycle picking up 7 caches along the KCT.
Day 20 of 28 - Found 2 caches near the morning's Toolern Creek parkrun in Melton.

I had decided on a mini road trip for this weekend, starting in Melton for breakfast on Saturday morning and ending in Ballarat for the GeoTour. What happened in between was the mystery!
After the CITO I teamed up with The_Tritonz again for a second day of caching adventures. If they weren’t sick of me yesterday surely today will do the job.
After gathering the required info I set about trying to find the cache. I looked everywhere and just wasn’t coming up with the goods. I called for reinforcements and just as we were about to give up I spotted it. The natural camo had made the find harder to spot.
Thanks Riddell for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Long grass…say no more! Out on trusty treadles AKA the MTB exploring the outer ‘burbs’. Nice to be following a water course and see some remnant bush land. Returning to home base in the NE via circuitous route as I’m on a mighty large LGA mission so it’s Melton here I come today. It’s been hugely interesting to be in the flat country and witness the urban expansion. TFTC and the FUN - glad I came!
I came. I saw. I looked. Left, right, up, down, around & behind.I paf’d. I read logs. And I still didn’t find it. Found a very likely spot, even after 20+ minutes of hunting, no cache.
I had to abort the mission today. there was too much grass and two men were mowing grass nearby and watching me so I had to give up and will need to come back another day
Easy find today! We came late at night about a week ago and easily got the answers we needed and math solved. We had a quick search on the wrong level before deciding we understood what happened and we would just come back. We came today and at the right level found it within minutes even though it was well hidden!

*Cache find # 13215.*
I had started this one a few weeks back but as I was on my way to an event, I ended up running out of time so had to leave before finding it.
Today I was back in the area and I remembered that I needed to finish this one off so I headed to GZ and had a look around, before long I was signing the log, good to finally finish this one off.
**Thanks to Riddell for placing this cache.**

Really wasn’t a specific area to look for and I could never get less than 9 m away
Taking a muggle friend out for her first caching expiriance in her own town I wanted to show her a few different types of caches. Getting to the posted coordinates I read out the information while she wrote down the maths and quickly got our gz coordinates.
Taking the most direct route and questionably the more fun way we found ourselves stumbling down the steep river bank and laughing our heads off on the way.
Back on flat ground we began our search with my muggle friend being the one to find the cache. We both signed she logged as sarahcache and soon to become her caching name.
Tftc had a great time finding this one.

After gathering the information long ago, today I swung past on my way through to search GZ. Not really knowing whether I was on the right level but systematically checking nooks and crannies, I eventually found the cache. Thanks for placing the multi Riddell.

We put a replacement container in the same spot as we hid the original one. A new fix with our GPS said we were within 3m of the original calculations. We do note however that there has been some changes to the original structure.

Hi there Scubacrazy666, we maintained your cache To Learn today.
We put a replacement container in the same spot as we hid the original one. A new fix with our GPS said we were within 3 metres of the original calculations. We do note however that there has been some changes to the original structure, and P should now be the number of thick poles in the structure plus two.

Hi there reviewer,
this cache seems to have been abandoned by its current owner.
As the original owner/placer of the cache, we are prepared to revive it (and perhaps reclaim ownership) when we return to Victoria - however this won't be until mid December.
If this is not possible, please archive it.

After messaging with Scubacrazy666 and having him confirm, I can unfortunately say that the cache is infact missing
As the former owners, we're going to leave this note here for a while.
When we placed the cache the date on the plaque was May 24th 1992 and P was 8.
So if MDDYYY is 5241992
then
5241992 minus 1499269 = (3742723/1000) = 37 42.723
AND
PMDDYYY is 85241992
so then 85241992 minus 70807221 = (14434771/1000) = 144 34.771
We can also advise that the cache was placed in a niche of the rock wall, at the calculated coordinates
It is best accessed by the path from the picnic area as access from the road will be far more difficult.
We are in no position to check on the cache ATM as we are currently in Queensland.
Good luck.

Sadly, couldn't get this one. Pretty sure we got the right coords but maybe not. Brought us to a lovely area though- super overgrown which put off my caching partner quite a bit, haha
Thank you took us a while cause we had the wrong coordinates but got there in the end
Spiffy- and I decided a few multi caches were in order for today plus a few other random caches. The forecast was for lots of rain, but we managed to stay dry.
This was strange as we thought the structure was not quite right but some logic applied and bingo.
Thanks to ian-and-penny (Adopted by Scubacrazy666) for the placement and fun.

Found at 2:52 pm.
Fleabag- and I had a few hours today and thought we would slowly start working our way towards a couple of different multi cache challenges plus a few other random caches. Forecast was for showers but we managed to avoid them the whole time which was brilliant.
Confused on the second set of clues. The answers didn't match up but with a bit of common sense we soon had a good looking GZ. Maybe we had the wrong structure but I couldn't see another one?

9 June 2020, have walked along here many years ago before houses. Still a beautiful spot
Have had this one sitting here for ages and only one of a few left relatively close to home. Headed out before the heat set in today.
Sums calculated relatively quickly. I took the higher terrain rating to get to this one. A nice area near GZ.
Thanks for keeping this going.
Cache in good condition. Larger than expected.

This was a nice easy cache to find while out caching today with ilook4geo. We found the plaque with the helpful info. The new destination was worked out. Then it was off to pick up container, which was no problem. The log was quickly signed with two more names being added, all was put back into place and it was back to the car to get out of the cold and blustery wind. Thanks go to Scubacrazy for adopting and maintaining this cache.
Was out on a caching drive today with goingplaces2 and this was one of the caches we found. It was a straightforward little multi. Everything was done quickly, as it was so cold and we wanted to move on. All logs were signed and replaced. TFTC.
Apart from the number of supports on the shelter, data collection was straightforward. An educated guess provided the missing piece of information. With the final coordinates calculated, we were off to GZ where we were able to make a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Scubacrazy666 for maintaining this cache on behalf of ian-and-penny.
A lovely area for an early morning walk... until I had the misfortune of being bitten by a bull ant! I forgot how much they sting! Thanks so much for placing this cache ian-and-penny (Adopted by Scubacrazy666), some things may have changed (add two to the structure) but with a little bit of help I was able to formulate coords.
Spent a long time on this one. Description needs to be updated. Had to read previous logs to find out the structure had changed, so then managed to get reasonable co-ords. Still no luck finding the cache. Disappointed.
We did learn indeed! We learnt about this lovely place near the creek! Nice little area and trees. Worked out the sums, tried to tackle this top down. Went around, found our prize, but left the steep way up. TFTC
Cool. Turn into nice day, partly cloudy with blue sky, windy in the open. 20°
Note: The structure has changed,.. as per previous log mentioned, I found this to be correct and factor it in.
Cache in good condition. TFTC Cheers

Found and signed. The structure has changed. It had 2 less then it used to. I used to ride down the path when i was a kid and had even been apart of a program at primary school where we had to come down here to plant tree. Got a sausage sizzle out of it tho. Tftc
Had a little bit of difficulty working this out, both me and my geocaching partner! Structure has been redone, and tried lots of ways but couldnt figure out the long and lat thing
Another find for my Multi cache challenge. This was a great little cache cords were easy to figure out and the cache was a good size hidden in a great place with swaps for the kids. TFTC
Beautiful sunny day for caching around this area before heading back to Geelong from Melbourne.

In Melton today to attend the local Intervening Event and cache here for our very first time. The weather wasn't playing nice , so it was a matter of taking a photo of the plaque and running back to the car to prevent getting too wet. After working out the unusual formula we were relieved to see we weren't to far away.

Thanks for the cache, Scubacrazy666. The cache was exactly where I was hoping it would be. It's in excellent shape with only a light coating of dust to indicate it's been outdoors for so long. SL TN L 1 Pirate's treasure coin.
Doing a couple of find in Melton thought I would give this a crack. Had to work out cords about 6 times. Something wasn't right. Then I thought I'd i do the sums this way. Bam I got cords and off to GZ. Thank god I got it write and signed log.
Giving a hint if CO don't mind if they do please delete this log.

After a big day in Ballarat it was good to finally cross this one off the list. It was a DNF in 2010 and now a find! Not sure what was happening back then but the co-ords were the same this time around. I think there were bees. Yeah, bees. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Thanks for keeping this one around, Scubacrazy666.

I make a few trips back and forth from Melton so if I get a chance to try and grab some of the unfound caches each time I take a detour on the way home.
A quick set of figures to calculate and then down to GZ where the cache was quickly located. Thanks for maintaining the cache Scubacrazy666.

Read the plaque and collected the clues, calculated GZ and wandered off to look. After climbing down the bank and making the find at 1:55pm Mrs A and Shadow the geodog turned up, having come by the easy track! Fantastic tree near GZ.

Found with LouiseAnn and SirJ-OZ. Our last day together to finish multi March. The terrain rating on this one was a bit off. John made the find. Tftc
Wow, there were some pretty impressive ants for this one, thankfully we escaped unscathed. The hunt for the cache proved to be a little harder than the caches terrain 1.5 rating indicated, but John was able to make the find. We picked this cache up at 10:12am.
Sharkiefan, SirJ-Oz and I headed out to collect as many multi caches around Bacchus Marsh and Melton. We had a list, and a plan that I put together to help me complete my Multi March challenge. Thanks for the cache Scubacrazy666. This is my #18 multi for Multi March

Find #1776. Found @ 10:10 with LouiseAnn and sharkiefan.
The plan for today was to Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Sunbury and surrounding areas and strip mine them for their luscious multi-cache booty as part of our Multi-March adventure. This was find 2 of 35 for the day, with only 2 DNF over 13 hours. Multi find #22 of my Multi-March adventure.
While lookintg at WP1, we found lots of ants, but luckily we found them before they found us. After gathering the numbers, we made our way to GZ where I found the container. At least I wasn't distracted by sharkiefan's shiny action pants.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.

Well stocked for the geo kids. I once got dobbed in by my younger brother for delivering all my local newspapers in a hole in this area. 35 years ago. Mum and dad still live near by. All ok TFTC.
Out on a day/night of caching with Geordiefamily around Melton to add smileys to the map.
I don't usual enjoy multis but this one enjoyed and the area.

on a visit from Geelong with alchey. Nice puzzle, nice climb. Completed not long before dark. Lots of wildlife around, very tranquil. Tftc.
Good way to learn how a multi cache works. Nice and easy clues calls and GZ not too far. Great views and lovely spots. Fav point. TNLN TFTC scubacrazy666.
Visiting waypoint one, we collected the required information and set about our calculations. Plugging our numbers into the unit, we set off in a likely direction and ended up in this wonderful spot. It was really quite idyllic and a lovely setting. After a little looking the cache was found in a likely hiding spot and was in good condition. Adding our names to the log, we then made our way back to nearby civilisation.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
I like a quick multi without heaps of waypoints and so this was a good experience. I also enjoyed the maths puzzle part. GZ presented a challenge and I was concerned this one might be a DNF but then I noticed something in an area we'd already searched. The cache is in fantastic condition, almost like its new and now the logbook as our names in it. Thanks Scubacrazy666.
Our second ever geocache! Took ages since GPS was giving us a 10x10m moving target! So many hidey holes to check and lots of vigorous grass covering everything. I was ready to give up when my gf found it! Lots of goodies to choose from! Cunningly camouflaged container u rogue
Gathered the necessary numbers from the plaque, did a double check on the sums, then headed for the short stroll to GZ where the cache was soon in hand. Thanks to Scubacrazy666 for this short little Multi and for bringing me here.
Cache container is replaced, re-camoed, restocked with swag and ready to go!
found this one easily... once got to it over a slip sliding wet terrain....
thanks for the cache...

The container looks like it's been chewed through by something and there's small holes in it. Will need to be replaced before winter.
An easy to complete multi, some fun with numbers and I had the correct coords in hand. I plopped my note pad down on the ground and did some high terrain man-oeuvres to get down to ground zero. The cache was an easy find as the coords were great, I got back in the car and drove off, leaving my note pad behind. A pedestrian may have already grabbed it and discovered our secret, egads.
I was out for an afternoon's caching on the way to Tuesday nights Street Orienteering event in Williamstown. A bit of a roundabout trip but look where it brought me.
Clues solved and trail followed for a pleasant short walk.

A nice multi, although we did end up confusing ourselves a great deal by failing to read the instructions closely enough... damn month. Soon had found GZ, then retraced steps to WP2 to find way to access GZ (we really need to remember to read those instructions more closely) a very nice walk next to a very different part of the Toolern Creek (as locals even we were amazed to find this area) Cache in good condition, TFTC!

Today I had planned as a caching day, normally a good friend celebrates his birthday today, but due to the fact that he is travelling overseas, I had the day free to go caching. I received an email from my caching partner in crime, SedgwickDave and he was free and eager to go and find some caches. We decided to head towards the Melton area and the Intervening Days V and Scubacrazy666's 1000th event which I unfortunately missed last year. We decided to leave early and to find a few caches on the way there. I picked up Dave at 9.15, It was a beautiful Summers day, just perfect for caching.
We parked in the nearby street and made our way to the plaque where we managed to work out GZ using the calculator out of my phone. We then made our way to GZ where the cache was quickly found. Cache was in A1 condition. Future finders beware of the broken glass near to GZ.
Thanks go to Scubacrazy666 for the Cache. TNLN

On the way to the Intervening Days V event with Ahomburg and not having cache in the area before was keen to check out the surrounding region. Today's run resulted in 23 finds and no DNFs, nice. Today's challenge was also to find at least 5 different cache types (6 actually counting the trig point on GCA), done. A great day overall with ideal weather conditions and a light southerly breeze.
The only multi cache attempted today and a nice quick one too. With the required coords calculated it was off to GZ were it took a bit of searching before it was finally spotted. A nice spot too. TFTC Scubacrazy666

The usual TDC cache grab had been put on hold for a week, so I was looking at doing a solo run when I remembered I had a rain check promise with the legendary RebelActs to go on an evening caching run during the school holidays at some stage in the future. Well tonight was the night. We met at Glen Waverley and were soon moving west to Melton. It’s hard to find locations close to either of us where we haven’t already cleared out the area, so the Melton area was easily accessible and fruitful enough for us both. In all we visited about 33 locations with only two DNF’s, one DNA, and 1 very flat tyre. All in all it was a great night out. I finally got to meet RebelActs after corresponding and talking for such a long time and never actually caching together!
A great little multi this one! I enjoyed it a lot. thanks

Thank you for this multi cache which we enjoyed doing and finding without too much trouble. It is a lovely area and we must come back and do some walking on the paths and find out where they go??

Nice place. Could be good for an earth cache. Also notable for Nazi graffito. Enjoyed multi part too. TFTC.
I found myself over this side of town for a shot at a FTF and also to pad my numbers to get closer to 3000. I enjoy doing these type of multis and quickly had a GZ to go and search. After a little time I had the cache in hand. TFTC

This was my first on a Melton run this afternoon.
My first attempt at calculations had a gz a few 100km's away.
AAhhh nooo!!!
Then I realised I had written down a correct date.
Recalculating and I was at gz and signing the log fairly soon after.

Found at 1520 hrs whilst trying to add some smilies around the area (and get around the bloody school traffic)!
Nice unambiguous multi! It took a few minutes of searching for me to find the cache...
A nice little area that would be fantastic to see more water running through it!!

** Spotted something moving in grass **
Without giving too much away I decided not to proceed with the search as I had just spotted what appeared to be a tail of a Snake OR Lizard (not sure) slip away into the thick grass. Rather than risk it being a snake I gracefully walked away and will attempt another time.

First find as a geocacher, had a good day out with fellow geocachers The 2 Wanderers teaching me the ropes. Terrain a bit of an effort to climb back up the embankment. Cache in good condition, lots of goodies. TFTC TNLN
This is a beautiful spot and we were very pleased with the shade to do our calcs, even if we did do them wrong the first time but once corrected the cache didnt take too long to find. This was found in the company of Colford2 on her first geocaching trip. We had a great day. We seemed to pick the wrong track again but it didnt beat us. The cache is in good order.

Hopefully it is acceptable to find a cache we once owned.

Nicely located multi, and thanks for providing a sheltered seat for the calcs! Cache fine.
Suscoe's 15th find in Melton today.
Did the calculations, set off and were met with a dilemma, how to get from here to there.
So Coe sorted that out and then the cache was located.
In the right spot, dry and very safe.

Why not try this one as well?
The maths was simple after how many cubes- thank you.
Discretion was the decision today and I tackled this from the lower ground successfully. The mossies had a feast today and the cobwebs were very friendly. Not sure how the name fitted in to the picture but the area at GZ was a picture - lovely and green with the sun shining.
