Caching in the area we pick up a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
This took some time to find, did the lap a few times, fed the green ants and march flies and another lap, I eventually found the cache! Enjoyed exploring the area, cache and contents were in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience today.

We are chasing the older caches to fulfil a challenge.. We had a great time 4wd in to ground zero. Parked on the track and soon realised I was going to earn this smile. It took me 45 minutes to go from the car and back. Gotcha..Signed log and replaced cache as found tftc. Had a great time here today as we haven't been 4wd for a while.
Found as part of the Mega in Townsville with Quesera thank you for placing this cache here
After finishing The Saint series, Konie and I made our way to this cache. The road was not as bad as I thought it may have been and my geomobile made it through ok. We parked as close as possible to GZ, then made our way up the hill, one faster than the other. As I approached GZ, my caching buddy told me not to come any further as he had just been attacked by another lot of green ants. I was close enough to GZ to begin searching and it wasn't long before I located the cache. I was far enough away from the green ants for them not to worry me. Log signed, everything returned as found, then we continued on our way. TFTC
In the area with Selva Girls today to pick up some caches and this was one of them. Saw the entrance to this one as we did the Saint series and once they were finished we returned and had an enjoyebale drive in, We parked and then headed off up the hill to GZ and managed to find more green ants. I'd over shot GZ and told SG to go the other way around the rock so she didn't have to share the green ants. SG soon had the old cache in hand while I was swatting ants!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy.
A FP for keeping this old one going.

Well Mrs Simber15 had headed back home and l thought l would finish off the rest the caches in the area. I got to the top of this hill and I was not going to let it beat me I looked and looked then I read the hint, I still couldn't find it. I stopped and l moved from where it said GZ was, then I looked under the rock and there it was. TFTC

Signing as Pawsome Foursome which is Drrnrchr and Driftindillons team name for Townsville for the mega. Did your cocoa ck. today. 17 April 2022 4:00 pm Tyfc mac100 total caches now 4747 .
During the Easter long weekend, it was all about the Townsville Mega event! Highlights included a hike at Cape Pallarenda Conservation Peak, walks atop the local mountains of Mount Stuart, Castle Hill, and Mount Louisa, checking out a few shady spots along Ross River, sewer pipe / tunnel adventures, and a scuba dive to see the Museum of Underwater Art at John Brewer Reef. The Mega events themselves were fantastic: Gadget lab caches, GPS maze, trivia night, tree planting CITO, and Cal's Escape Room. There was also plenty of geocaching to be had, such as power trailing through the geoarts The Saint and the Book, and the collection of challenge caches at Bushland Beach mudflats. My view of Townsville had completely changed from my trip experience, and much kudos to the Cache Qld Townsville Mega Committee.
We caught up with a few other Geocachers at the start of the geoart trail, and *The Saint* was completed in convoy as a group. During the monotony of finding the nearby power trail, we took a short drive to this cache, and after a brief search, we located the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. We decided to sign the geocache as Team 150 to save space in the logbook. Thanks mac100 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 09/2006 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.

Found with the MEGATRONS consisting of dahumbug, bella at waggy, crash and tardis...log to follow.
The lap around here was very...very...very long.
Looked short on the map, thats for sure.
Sorry, I will endeavour to regress and write a decent log on most caches.
Thank you, Thank you.

MEGA Trip - day 3
Assembled the full MEGATRON crew (bella at waggy, dahumbug, tardis0061, crash2079) for an early CITO at Charters Towers and to find as many types as we could in the day.
Having found various types in Charters, we headed to the Saint geoArt puzzles and letterboxes
While in the are, couldn’t resist a small detour to pick up an oldie which will also help towards a challenge cache
We split forces and raced each other up the hill via different paths. While we arrived first, it was Bella that made the find

Found as part of Team 150 who were out this way looking for lots of saintly people plus an oldie! Thanks for cache.
Having just done the Saint geo art the Megateons (The Bug, Crash Tardis and myself) headed to this one. The car nav said walk a few kilometres but the track had us driving much closer. A scramble up and around before turning up the goods. We completed the signing duties and re hid.

This has been a popular spot over the last couple of days, a very distinct pathway took us up to the rocks at the top of the hill. The views up here were stunning!
The cache ... found quickly, log signed and all replaced as found.

On our way back from finishing the Saint series, we decided to make a slight? detour to find an oldie. Great trek in, many thanks for the adventure and cache
The day had come; the plan to get 150 caches (excluding labs) in a day for another challenge was here. The planning and prep started two months ago when I was at the Wangaratta mega. With the recent zoom events for puzzle solving a big help and the Geoarts of the saint and the book catering for two thirds of the task, it was just a matter of finding 50 more caches so as I was able to complete. Today I had Willis007 with me; we picked on a few quick easy finds as we were passing and motoring between arts. We then grabbed the bikes and went for a ride around along the Ross river parkway or is that power trail.
The Geoarts were found easy and thank you. The book art did slow us down a little with some hides a little tuff to find. the power trail was fun some good caches and some that also slowed us down. However, by the end of the day we were done and the challenge completed.
Thanks to my caching buddies, the CO’s for the caches and the great areas I got to see today.
oh an oldie and an easy ind here today as the pathway to the cache was a highway. lol

This cache was found as part of a trip with GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to Far North Queensland for the Townsville Mega. The trip started in Cairns and ended in Mackay, and allowed us to find some ripper caches inbetween.
We managed to complete some of the Breaking Bad cache series until we driven back to the car due to the heat, and the Saint and most of the book series. There were some good variety in both these series which kept them interesting.
One of the highlights (although a low light when removing the mud) was the walk on the salt flats outside Townsville to get the challenge caches
Another highlight was Magnetic island, where other than some great views, we managed to spot two koala's in the wild.
Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache that was part of our trip

A bit of a sidetrip to interrupt the saint geoart. After an interesting drive out here we met some geocachers who were just finishing up . They pointed out the 'track' which was good as we had driven past it. It was pretty uneven underfoot but we took it steady and were soon searching, looking for something that matched the hint. We spread out and I spotted a location that I thought could maybe work, yep that was it!
Thanks mac100
A ten day mega trip was arranged with Stainless steel rat and Budgietas. We flew into Cairns and out of Mackay, with the majority of the time in and around Townsville. We found a huge variety of caches and although our find count was a little lower than we would have liked, some of the high D/T caches more than made up for that. I really appreciate the effort of the local COs and all the people involved in hosting the mega and associated activities. I enjoyed catching up with many of our caching buddies, and make some new ones too!
Thanks for a great mega trip!

Friday was our 6th day in Queensland and today the main target was the Saint Series of puzzles, we also fitted in a few other caches at the start and end of the day.
This was my first Mega trip in a while now, I had planned to go to the last one in Wangaratta but concerns about COVID made me pull out at the last minute. For this one it was a trip with BudgieTas and GooseandEgg landing in Cairns on the Sunday where we collected a few caches in the dark before driving down to Townsville on the Monday collecting a select few caches along our very indirect route.
While in the Townsville we made the best of our time collecting a few series of caches and searching for some of the older caches on offer, some with lots of favourite points or something we thought maybe a bit different, along with all that we got to go to all the Mega events and meet up with cachers old and new, spending Thursday with Greg going round Magnetic Island and a bit of time with the Davinells who went out of their way to welcome the Tasmanians to Queensland.
All to soon it came to an end and we drove down to Mackay on the Monday again collecting caches along the way before flying home on the Tuesday Morning.
Thanks for the warm (sometimes too hot) welcome Queensland until next time!
Thanks for the cache.

Couldn't drive past this oldie. It was a rough track in spots, with a challenging trying to get past a few blokes towing tinnies on a tight track.
Bit of an ankle twister scrambling up but with a nice cool breeze blowing and an oldie to find it was all worth it.

Well that was an interesting spot. We went up to one of the camp grounds for a look see first. Found some Samphire to nibble on too but no crocs. Back amongst the rocks I was glad there was a geotrail through the long grass, made it easier to see the ankle turning rocks. Tftc

Second visit here within a few years and had company this time which made it less daunting in the very long tall grass. We followed a recent 'geo trail' and once in the rocks area, we went by the hint to start our search. It was only a matter of minutes before we had the oldie in our hot little hands. Beaut views from up here, well done CO for the good hide.

Day six and Thursday of the big Townsville trip for Fangsoki, Crew 153, 1MinnieMoo, Pprime and myself. This morning we woke on Magnetic Island but it would be a varied day, also exploring Cape Cleveland and an area north of Townsville. Hikes, ferries, 4WDing and mud flats.. what more could a geocaching boy want!?
After catching an earlier ferry back, we now had our eyes set on a few older offerings down the highway a little bit. Cape Cleveland looks like there is plenty of space to explore and roam, given the chance. I was in the driver's seat and we headed north until all people and devices agreed it was time for a left turn down a dirt road.
Everything considered it was a decent track. Doubtless gets worse down farther. But just some bumps and corrugations today, with loads of dust clouds behind. I parked us about as close as we could hope for the little walk. Getting out, it was warm and I wasn't convinced this general area with no services is ideal for camping. But we're not staying long.
Some of us had found this one, so just Prime, Crew and I headed off on the walk. Ahead of us was a bit of a clamber and a bunch of it was through some overgrowth, some of which had thorns. But eventually getting onto the rock, it turned to be granite and good for grip and rock-hopping about.
Finding the geocache didn't take long. The big old beast in good condition. Thankfully too, as this place was turning out to be a fly and mosquito playground! Right at 15:00 the geocache was replaced as found and Crew lead the charge back down. He took a tumble but carried on. Sweaty and sticky, arrived back at the car. That's us done south of Townsville, we're out of here and north on the highway next. Thank you for this old geocache and bringing me here, mac100

After the Trudge2TVL mob (Fangsoki, 1MinnieMoo, Captain Terror, Crew 153 and myself) had conquered Magnetic Island, we headed out for a few more caches. Including this one today. Being old it was high on the want-list. Pulled the Canyonero up on the road and made the little trek up to GZ. Views were viewed and the fresher breeze was welcomed and after a short hint the cache was found in good nick. A lovely spot and worthy of a visit.
Thanks mac100 for entertaining me at this location.

A 9 day roadtrip to Townsville and back to Brisbane in the Fangsoki Pajero with the usual cast of cachers.
It was a scramble to get up the rocks and I am not sure we took the easiest route but we got there in the end and located the cache. Getting back down the obstacle course was another challenge and I found a loose rock and fell. No body damage but my hiking pole now has a couple of bends in it.

Today we have a few targetted caches and after completing the Saints series, we made our way to this cache. Peppa and I scrambled up to GZ and searched amongst the rocks until Peppa made the find.
SL then returned as found.
Found on 12 April 2022. TFTC, mac100.

After finishing The Saint we headed in to grab this one. Drive in was easy enough. Thanks to Peppa and patrol14 for making the scramble up the rocks. Awesome job ladies. TFTC.
Our first day in the Ville after arriving late last night and with a plan to conquer The Saint, tick… the call of this oldie was to great…
With TMZ59 at the wheel of the Habanero Sport, Patrol14 in front and Imbunda refusing to “pull my finger” in the back seat it’s another day of the Tour de Ville… with added bonus of the company of Davinells….
I spent a couple of nights working on a list for Townsville…. It’s called “Townsville - Select”… So far on the journey up from Brisbane my lists last about one cache before they’re out the window…
This cache made the list… a really enjoyable drive with some amazing rock formations along the way…
At GZ we went round for awhile before finally spying the container in its cave…
Tftc… log signed as Tour de Ville or TDV - TIPP & Davinells…

9/4/22 Up in Townsville for the Mega. Just finished The Saint GeoArt and grab this one. Quick scramble up the hill. GPS settled and after a 10minute search found cache is excellent condition. TFTC SL
Try as we did right on GZ searched fruitlessly, disappointed as we had some swaps to share.
11/10/21 Find #5018
The day started like any other day.
Wait. Stop. No it didn’t.
Fangsoki and I arose from our slumber at the crazy time of 2:45am to check out of our Mackay accommodation around 3am, arriving first in Bowen around sunrise, before continuing our journey north.
This was Fangsoki’s third cache today, and my fourth, and we were glad we brought the Canyonero. Unfortunately we passed a very sad looking Mr Snek along the way - not sure what happened to him as there as no real sign of damage from our vantage point in the car at least. Pulling up, it was time to make our way “up there”, and having seen our friend already, we were conscious of the possibility of running into others along the way as the day was already warming, and we were heading to even warmer rocks with lots of snake hiding spots.
Once at GZ it took us a bit of time looking over here and over there then back that way before Fangsoki finally discovered the cache. Then. Was an incident and snake-free journey back to the car.
Thanks for the cache mac100.

1MinnieMoo and I were on our way to Innisfail - but we decided to detour for a couple of older caches - this being one of them.
It was a lonely road in toward GZ today. We pulled up and noted what had to be done. Yes - well - there is just nowhere to stand safely is there? We motored up the hill.. wobbling all over the show - and finally arrived at GZ.
After about 10 minutes of looking, I finally came up with the prize. It was in excellent condition. We signed the log and re-hid the cache as found.
Our trip down was just as wobbly - but we got to the car safely.
This cache is currently the 392nd oldest active cache in Queensland. (There was another one hidden on the same date).
A great little scurry that I enjoyed. TFTC mac100

Found as I meander my way from Adelaide to Cairns.
With no real travel plan and three weeks to get there before I meet up with friends, there has been plenty of opportunity for sightseeing and finding a few selected caches along the way.
After spending the night nearby, I thought I’d have a look at this one first up this morning. It didn’t take long to scamper up the hill then, after a bit of circling around, the cache was found in good order.
Thanks mac100 for the cache.

Following one of many recommendations from a friend, we decided to spend a bit of time in this area on our last day in Townsville.
We saw the wading birds on our way in, read the croc warnings and proceeded to the rock scramble. Two of us going in circles found a fair few things before, finally, one of us yelled: 'Over here!'
Yay, our name is now in the log of the 15 year-old hide that is still in excellent condition. Woo!
We made it safely back to the road, each in one piece and both decorated in scratches, pointy plant bits, insects of all descriptions and big smiles. A helicopter was flying overhead as we approached the car - surely, they were not looking for us?!

Very pleasant late morning drive out here, though Parks have put in some serious whoay-boys. Hadn't been out this way before. Headed up towards the cache, helped by a recent burnoff and found the right rock after a few circles. Cache in great condition despite lack of recent visits. Thanks for another excellent and older cache mac100.
Out today with my daughter, who wanted to explore the area she drives past on her way to her volunteer role at AIMS.
We drove around and checked it all out, sent the drone up for a few shots and then headed back so she could go to work. I expected as quick hunt, but it was not to be. Had to leave after 10 minutes to get her to work on time.
Turned out I was a little unhappy with some of the drone pics, so while the daughter was working, I returned and got the shots I wanted. On the way back, I stopped again and an approach from a different angle, bingo, there was the cache, an easy find this time.
Signed and admired the view.
Thanks for the cache mac100 !

While staying in Townsville for a few days we decided to have a drive south to Bowling Green Bay National Park....fascinating name that....maybe it was named for the very flat beach which stretches almost a kilometre when the tide is out??
We passed GZ for this cache and decided to continue to the estuary of Cocoa Creek so we could boil the billy and enjoy our morning tea️ while keeping a careful eye out for those big water lizards. Those of us from down south are usually much more cautious than the much more relaxed and unfazed folks from the tropics about such things
On our return we looked for the easiest way through the short section of very long grass and scrambled to GZ. After a brief search while waiting for the GPS to settle Geohubby soon had the cache in hand. It is still in excellent, clean, dry condition.
Many thanks for the hide mac100....a favourite point is on it’s way

Found after a morning fishing with geogirlfriend and friend. Lots of rocks to look behind! Tftc!
I Managed to make my way to this one with naomisart in a Volkswagen Golf . Some would call us stupid I say determined. Thanks for the great cache it was in a legendary spot with amazing views of the city. I stocked the cache up with a few goodies.
11:11:00 AM. We decided it was time to attempt this cache again and needing one for the day this was the closest to us at Ayr. We came more prepared this time with our hiking poles to poke around under the rocks and bought water. Parking in the same spot and made the short climb. Got to GZ and started our search in ever widening circles. Came back to GZ and started poking around and then I heard a different sound. Went around the other side of the rock and there it was. Glad to sign the log and get a smiley on the map. It didn't take so long after all. A good way to spend the day off work. Thanks mac100 for placing this cache.
Got invited out by karicka who had previously found the cache and who had a four wheel drive to grab 2 caches in the area and also bring geoparents out for a picnic who have come for a visit from europe. Nice little nationalpark , saw heaps of wallabies. Found container after some time searching . tftc sl tnln
Friday and i could allow myself more than one cache today.
If it was out of town!
Stopped for a great coffee on the way but soon i was heading south. First time on a rough road but easy in the toyota traktor that i drive nowadays.
Saw a few jumpy creatures along the road.
Easy walk to gz and after a while i saw smth in the corner on my eye.
Thanks for hiding here

A lovely drive out to the cache with geodogs and hubby Mattcns. Pretty easy to find after the scrabble up the hill, and what a lovely view. TFTC!
Was not anticipating the terrain with this one but so glad we did it anyway, long pants, good shoes and lots of mozzie spray next time. Took TB, TFTC.
We made the climb to GZ and started searching. It must be there somewhere but after 30 mins we called it quits. Will keep an eye on it and decide whether to return. Just wanted to get a smiley on the map but wasn't to be.
Scrambled up the side of the outcrop and started the search. After 15 minutes of searching MattCNS came up with the find. TFTC TNL: TB. SL {#281}.
A nice afternoon for a drive so RobS72 and I decided to tackle the Cape Cleveland caches. After the stroll up the hill it took us a little while to spot the cache while fighting off the mozzies. Always nice to find one of these types of contaners that were popular in earlier days. Cache container and contents are in good condition. TFTC.
I've had this one crop up as one of my nearest Townsville unfound for a while. Then heaps of new caches are published which pushes this one out again. It's not far as the crow flies but today was the first time I've been anywhere near the turn-off. Coming back from Almost Home Rock I thought I might as well have a look at this one. Car GPS took me to the Cocoa Creek camping area turn off. At this point the road was so rough I thought it must not go far but then checked and had 3.6km to go. That'd be quite the walk and no previous logs had commented on that. I followed the road further and it came good. Amazing where hire cars can go. Finally got to within 75m of the cache and parked.
Headed up the rocks and tried finding it without the GPSr but I was on the wrong peak. Followed the pointer to one spot and spread my searching coming up with the goods in a few minutes. This should never be muggled here! mac100 always does good hides that stand the test of time, I'm not even sure they are still active but the caches survive. Signed and replaced.
Thanks! A favourite for taking me somewhere new and not placing a micro!

Headed out in the wet probably not the best day to cache however met some lovely fisherman who were kind enough to help me up after i fell in the mud and even wash my feet in one of the buckets... be warned there is a CROC according to the men so stay away from the waters edge if you do decide to drive further down the track lovely exploration with RocketBabe!
Quite a popular stretch of track on an Easter Friday. We made the trek up with the GPSr leading us straight to the prize. geoD caused a mini avalalanche on the way back down but we made it safely back to the gCAV

no creek up here!!! steep walk but no grass after the fire .a quick look and the cache was in hand .tftc.sl.
Found after an extensive search in very hot, humid weather with my muggle daughter. The gizzmo was quite vaque today so we had quite a search area with many rocks, and i was very happy to find it before i passed out Although this did just end up a warm-up for 'Relaxing Lookout' at alligator creek!! But thats another story Thanks for the adventure mac100
Came out Aug 21 but the GPSr died 50m from GZ (I forgot to replace my spare batteries ) and a 30min hunt failed to locate the hide. A return today had the GZ located in minutes and the cache very quickly in hand. I was nowhere near GZ last week, thank goodness for the GPSr today.

We were lucky enough to head up the rocks on a path which allowed us to catch a telltale glimpe of the black painted prize in its hiding place. Nice views especially at the top. TFTC. Took the TB. Will drop it in a Townsville cache during the week.
We looked but did not find.... nice part of the world.... but we couldnt find the cache!!!!

Took a couple of looks today. A little tough around the last few meters with so many "large rocks" to choose from. tnlnsl
Dad has worked out at AIMS for the last 18 years and yet I can't ever remember coming this way down Cocoa Creek. Plenty of visits to Black Soil creek however. Took a fair amount of searching before geomum came up with the goods. TFTC mac100. L GC

As with the Red Devils this was the 1st of 3 caches we wanted to find. Parked car and made our way up to the GZ. GPS was little bit jumpy so it had us looking around everywhere. I read the clue and big rock and little rock really didn't help at all but was funny to hear Bear's reaction when I told him what the clue was : ) after a bit of searching the cache was in hand. We were pleased to find this one.
Once we got back to the car we headed toward the end of the road for a snake before heading to Cungulla Beach for the next find.
TNLN thanks for placing a cache here. SL

First of the 3 caches in the Bowling Green NP today. Enjoyed the drive in, and we explored to the end of the track first. On the way back, we parked up, and i made the climb up. Took a little while to locate...large rocks...small rocks..lol...(When is as clue..not..a clue Ha Ha.)
Good views from GZ, relieved to find this one today.
