Have to go past a locked gate and "Do not enter" signs, so I am going to put this one to rest.
Why indeed. Track is actually closed due to a couple of fallen trees but track still easily accessible. Quick find at GZ. TFTC.
After standing around looking lost a neighbour came out for a chat an took us down to the entrance way an told us "just round there". Off we went! There were a few fallen trees to jump, which kept the kids entertained while we searched. No luck for us thou
The area around the cache is overgrown and I would have struggled to find it without the hint. The cache is still there and in good condition. The trail was passable as well.
we started walking from dog picnic park and headed east. Eventally it connected with the waimari. The closed section was no problem just several trees across the track. Cache soon found blackberry startng to grow here. Continued towards the groynes. Nice hot day for a walk. Tftc
The track condition did slow me down a bit, but located the cache reasonably easily.
Was out for a run, and thought I'll try the iPhone and see if there are any caches nearby........24 metres away!! Looking at the last few logs thought I wouldn't have any luck, however went straight to it. I had jumped over the fence and run through the closed track. Looks like a few people do this judging by the track. thanks
What an adventure. We decided to ignore the track closed sign. Mum and I clambered of fallen trees and enjoyed our adventure but did not find the geocache. I will send a photo of the fallen trees.

This was a bit of a painful one But we found it in the end. We walked the whole round on a beautiful afternoon. TFTC
The cache is moisture prone. The location is overgrown the terrain rating reflects this.
Was in the neighbourhood collecting a mystery and thought it'd be rude not to pay a visit. The grass at GZ was sodden from last nights rain. Not in suitable gear, meh (with shoulder shrug), into it. Wet, and tangled in new blackberry vines cache was in hand and signed. Then a wee struggle out of the vines and back to the original task. Lots of development on the other side of the fence. Thanks for placing the cache.

Followed the well beaten path to GZ and found a few minutes later.
Left an Oak Buck coin.
Left an Oak Buck coin.
Very hot day with the kids, but after an extensive search, found it - Thankfully! TFTC
It took a little bit of looking to turn it up dodging the muggles passing by in the track.
The first of 30 today on our way up to Westport.

A delicate final few steps to GZ in crocs and shorts trying to avoid the stingy nettle. Got there safely in the end. I didn't know there was an entrance to this walkway so close - scouting out the area to see the quickest way to a nearby puzzle cache final. TFTC (430)
A pleasant rural wander and then a walk through a nice shady patch of bush. Took us a little while to spot the cache, considering its size. No one else around apart from a farmer on his tractor. Great walking track. TFTC.

Nice sunny day. Wee dude went with the grandparents to view the globemaster; so we took the wee wee dude on a walk. Quick find on a lovely day. Not many people at this end of the track! Thanks.
A quick find between 2 puzzle caches this afternoon.
Read the logs as I left the car so took an emergency log and some paper towels.
In the end I removed everything, wiped out the container and just left the emergency log in a new bag (and possibly a pen as when we got to the next cache I couldn't find mine).
Will dry out treasure and log book as best as I can and get to CO so she can return it.

Sorry, forgot to say the log is very wet and unable to be written in. There is water in the container as well. I drained it out. The seal seams fine, maybe the container was left open at some point.
TFTC. This took a fair look about. Unfortunately the cache is very wet. Need to take your own pen as neither pen nor pencil in cache working due to water.
Came to the cache via Darroch Street. Take care as you go in. The road veers right at the top of the stop bank. It you go straight you will get a very wet and dented car! A cunning hide at the GZ, though they is a bit of blackberry and regrowth to make life interesting. Thanks.
Easy find, which is why we couldn't understand why someone would do another nearby cache and not this one? Log is wet.
The last of 11 finds today and the hardest to find. Found just as I was about to give up, after a good 20 mins searching.
There was a lot of water in the container and some of the 'treasure' had deterioated. The log book was dry inside.
I recommend a maintenance visit. TFTC.

Picked this up as a bonus , the cache is getting really damp and it appears that the dye is running out of one of the swaps Little G
(302) I was in the area not that long ago, trying to get a FTF Mystery Cache.. Still a very cool spot, did not seem to get any sun at this time of the year.. The cache had a bit of water in it, however fellow cacher drained it.. TFTC. SL.
Yes our first score for the day, crunchy grass all the way to this one. McPhan picked up the goods after a frosty search.
Splendid location. Hanmar Springs now so much more inviting!
Thanks for the cache Hello Mrs.

On a long walk (started at the Groynes) a quick find in the afternoon. Although the area is a wee damp and not very easy to access in Sunday clothes. TFTC
Took the short way in, as a lot to do today. Enjoyed the short walk and followed the trail to the cache.

Rather than walk along way we found a park close by.But due to logging we thought it may have gone .But there it was.We didnt like to shift it to a safer place,so left it there,Left a Purple Lizard.TN TFTC.
Nearly gave up as the area has had a massive tree clearing with big ones around the geocache cut down. Searched on and located the cache but it might need moving in the not too distant future. TFTC and the pleasant walk.
Took the kids for this one took us abit to find

Found car park close to cache.Very wet underfoot.Nice and easy find.Dropped off Speed Racer, picked up Speed Racer.
Was amazed at how much water was lying around the area, but track in was OK. The log book was dry in its plastic bag, but the cache itself was slightly damp. I think some local kids have found it and logged their names.

Nice walkway for exercising the dog. Dropped Movers Geocoin. Picked up To Australia Geocoin
Took the long way round on route to another cache. Hot muggy still day. Once in the area cache easily found.
Whew! Took the long way round. Coordinates confused with the overgrowing willows. Grass was well tramped and the cache quickly found. Thank goodness. I was running out of puff. Thank you. TNLN.
Left the girls at the mall so had a couple of hours for caching. A great walkway, had only ever been to the groynes end up until now. Thanks for the wander and the cache.
Did the long/short walk in (um, short as per directions, but obviously not as short as the last poster!).
Lovely walk, that I think made me feel at times as if I was on private property. If it wasn't for knowing that I'd followed a posted walking track sign ...
Cache find was a very obvious spot, but had fossicked about in the bush a lot more than I needed to before I found it!
+ Happy face key ring

We had 2 goes at finding the path. First of all we went onto private property then just about went on private property again. We did find it though. we also discovered a branch that had come of a tree. I feel sorry for anybody in that area at the time that it came down
Found an entrance very close and only had to walk 100m. Found the cache easily. Allready had a long walk today so glad for that. TNLN TFTC
Why why why would we be so silly - got our direction scrambled definitely not use to all this FLAT and open countryside. Took the long route when we thought we were going the short one. Not a bad pre-breakfast jaunt. Great spot for a cache. Took Hogwild World Famous Travelling Geocoin and Old coins TB. Dropped off (291)
Must be finally starting to think like a geocacher as the gps was out a bit but I found it quite quickly anyway.
nice sunday walk in the sun after some pretty horrible weather over the past weeks. tftc
Found the cache in the dark, had a bit of trouble with my GPS signal so took longer than it should have. Took BYO Geocoin, left marbles. TFTC.
Nice wee walk,
took a little photo frame and left a small enameled flower tag.
Left BYO Pencil Geocoin

A nice easy find. I used to walk this area prior to the cache placement, so it brought back a few memories. Nice to see that the walkway has been upgraded and well maintained.
