This cache was found as part of our first camping trip on the Yorke Peninsula. Thanks to all those who have placed caches and taken us to weird and wonderful places. We had a fantastic time. TFTC
We somehow acquired the two four-year-old cousins today and by 4pm the house had become too small for them. Finding this cache was a perfect excursion for them to let off steam. Grandpa strategically placed Tacker3 so that he could find the cache, but he couldn't reach it. Easy solution - just shift that rock above it! (Grandpas can do anything, can't they?). Grandma enjoyed the journey - the late afternoon colours of the sea and sky. Thank you for placing the cache.

Found by Mary & David at 1105. A bracing walk in a stiff, cold northerly breeze. Even the seagulls were grounded. Amazed at all the expensive real estate nearby. Our thanks to J & J.
Lovely morning for a walk, sea flat no wind nice view, not a person around, easy find. Gray6254

Weather was windy and not raining for a change, but we could see it coming so we ran to the end into the oncoming wind. Cache was found after an extensive search, logged whilst being showered by the breaking waves below us. TFTC

I had carried around the corrected's for this cache for a few years... and never had chance to get out here. Today was the day... what a trip to get to the start.... did I miss the turn to get here [?]
A brisk walk out to the end found a muggle in residence about 2m from me. Luckily he was all of 8m below me and out of eye sight. He never knew I was there. After the important business was done, I sat for about 15 mins and sucked in the beautiful fresh air. A fair bit of water activity made for an interesting 15 mins for Astro.
Clear skies and TFTC J&J- at last
Hardest part about this location was navigating our way to the jetty around the canals, because it was all new to TomTom. Enjoyed the strol to the end of the jetty and GPS indicated GZ immediatley. Had no problem locating cache without the spoilers.

Had to come back for another pass at this one. Originally, we walked half the length of the OTHER breakwater before the GPS indicated we were wrong. Went and found another cache, which conveniently brought us to the right side of the marina. TFTC.
Took us a while to find without the spoiler photos. The whole time we were searching we were admiring the beautiful colours in the rocks. An appealing location and we eventually spotted the cache. Thanks J_&_J
Early morning find. A short walk from our tent. David proudly found it without using the photos but the E coord decimal minutes appeared to be 520, not 522. Checked it a few times to make sure. Thanks J & J
Cache checked today. All is still in order. I have now posted six pictures in the gallery that show detailed info about finding this geocache in this rocky spot. May all future logs be happy ones

If we were to start a Bookmark list of 'Caches we aren't meant to find' - this would be first on the list. We did the hard yards some time ago when this was still a multi, got all the info right, but mucked up on the maths. Should be easier now - it's been 'dumbed' down for us dummies. Not so - we spent over an hour climbing over all those stupid rocks/boulders. We phoned a friend. We phoned another friend. We were a source of amusement to nearby fishermen. We ruined our nails. We hit our head several times. Did we find the cache? NO. Were we mad? YES. Do we hate rocks? YES. Will we return? PROBABLY NOT.

Tried doing this on my own but no luck. Found it third time lucky and it helped to have some "young" eyes...!! Lovely area TFTC

Nice walk past the lovely brightly painted fishing boats and the passenger ferry. Under a rock. Which rock?

Tried this about 12 months ago when it was a multi, but the wheels fell off badly then . Much easier now as a traditional. Even so, I was a bit worried about the location as the GZ seemed to plot in the middle of Moonta Bay . Thank god for Google Earth [^]. Found surprisingly quickly among the rocks after a 200m ‘walk on water’. No swaps. Cheers J&J. Glad to finally get this one off my radar .
A great walk on a cold windy day. Two Melbourne nephews, one Kadina niece, two Kadina nephews and a wallaroo brother in tow to find this one. Checked out a few rocks before Melbourne number two sang out got it. Took a deer and left a fish cause it looks on the map as if it would belong here. Thanks for the excuse for the walk.
Found the cache at 2pm. Love this place - the houses so beautiful plus river... Enjoyed walk along to the cache. No swap. SL. Thanks J & J for organising the cache and hunt.
I came here before and lucky I brought parrothead this time so it could be found.
Funny how TomTom and Mapsource wanted us to drive across the water
Thanks J&J

A pleasant walk out past all the fisherfolks, although we did briefly contemplate the possibility that we were walking out along the wrong one! At GZ the hints helped a little, though it still took a little while before Parrothead came up with the goods - it's well hidden!
TNLN - Thanks J&J!

An interesting walk we enjoyed checking out the vessels. I came up a winner after a short search. A surprise for me with this style of cache.
Grabbed the pin and left a torch.
Grabbed the pin and left a torch.
After a brief search and a deciphering of the clues by the smarter and by far more attractive member of our team, we located the cache. A great spot to fish or just admire the view. Nothing taken.
Well they say that clues and logs are there for taking notice of, too bad we didnt. Anyway had a good look at both of the rocky trails and found the cache without too much trouble when we went to the right one. Spent some time dreaming about the nautical hardware nearby. TNLNSL. TFTC.

Found it. Took a bit of hunting, but came up with the goods. Took the strawberries on magnet. Left bulldozer puzzle. Should have taken fishing line with me!
We had a nice stroll down here and it was fun working out the best road to GZ... Those rocks are so heavy ! Even the little ones... Great Cache and Great Location TNLNSL TFTC
Found on a lovely walk on a weekend away for our wedding anniversary. Was pretty much where we expected. Thanks
Maybe this should be called Wallaroo Submarine as my co-ords put me out in the drink. Still good squidding spot.
Using a dodgy GPS and after a walk along the wrong breakwater we finally arrived at the right spot. Two boys were fishing near by which made it tricky to be discrete. Left a car and took a spinner.
Well we won't bore you with our trials and tribulations in relation to this one....
Needless to say, recent cache notes would have been a blessing, and a timesaver....
TNLNSL
Thanks
PS: we did manage to work out the final gz from a heap of brainhurt. Had it confirmed, and found using the old co-ords too.

Cache # 15 of 20 attempted today. I initially let my GPS guide me along the roads to this one. Unfortunately, it took me to the wrong side - I should have used the supplied car park co-ordinates. Once on the right breakwater, the fun began. I checked around, decrypted the clue, and checked again.
In the words on my friend DAK, "Geez I hate 'em in rocks". Well, not always. I have reasonable success in the rocks, but not today. Despite my best efforts, and quite a bit of time, I failed to come up with the goods. My thanks to J_&_J once more for bringing me here.

We've done all the hard work, all we needed to do was go back and find it! [:(!] Never mind, when we finally get there it will be well deserved! Personally, I think it was a great cache if you had plenty of time. They don't all have to be easy, and it was a nice tour of points of interest in the town, not to mention it's good to exercise the brain now and again! Thanks J & J, we'll be back.

Cache relisted as a Traditional. Apologies to all those who've had to find this one the hard way.
We spent ah hour and a half gathering up and deciphering the information. Apart from 2, all the numbers we ended up with were grossly out (one of them was –1849.6!). As we had no intention of revisiting the circuit to try and get it to work, we had no option but to bundle up our ream of workings and call it quits.
Later at home, I had the opportunity to read all the notes left for this cache, and I find myself agreeing wholeheartedly with Cached & Co. Whilst your sentiments about not having it as a numpty drive-by are valid, I find the method of achieving some simple numbers unbelievably and unnecessarily convoluted, and so easy to screw up. And it IS a long way to come to be thwarted by confusion. Given the multitude of numbers that are available to play with, there are a myriad of ways to achieve a single digit without the need to deal with cube roots and negative numbers. Trying to do it off a PDA didn’t help either

mabar with mrs matmob enjoyed a fabulous day geocaching while the men and geokid went crabbing[not sure which group had the most success]after a couple of hours checking then rechecking... alas dnf.

Mabar and Mrs matmob decided to tackle this one whilst the men were crabbing on the jetty. We dutifully visited all the locations (some more than once due to making assumptions instead of reading properly!!), then settled in the coffee shop with our paperwork and calculator. Enjoyed our cappuchinos and cakes, did the sums, and off we went. But alas, we got to a spot where the GPSr said the cache was 3km out to sea! So maybe we did something wrong. We checked all our maths, and even revisited the town locations but couldn't find anything wrong. Oh well, never mind, we enjoyed ourselves anyway!
Sorry, but I am with Cached and The Wacky's. Really enjoyed the history only to be let down at the end. Also it didn't leave time to explore other historical points in the area.
Added a warning to start of cache description, removed the red herring, incresed the difficulty rating, increased the terrain rating, added a more detailed description of actually locating the cache at final GZ. We've been meaning to add more help in finding the actual box ever since Klems Mob logged a DNF. We understand there is nothing more frustrating than spending ages finding final coords to be robbed of a find. We do however think that for now the maths bits should stay as there should be an alternative to simple drive-by's outside of the city. Hopefully the changes to this cache will help future visitors to Wallaroo make a more informed decision as to whether try this cache or not.
Hi J&J,
Appreciate your reply to our DNF logs.
I do believe an excellent compromise has been reached, your decisions/actions are good ones.
Thanks!

I found this quite a frustrating cache, which I think may be better served by a series of traditionals.
I really wish people wouldn't hide caches in rock piles...

I'm with Cached, I found this cache to be unnecessarily complicated and drawn out when it could have been a lovely little series of caches highlighting what is a lovely little town - it certainly put a dampener on our day
This was an epic
If you read all of Freddo's comments below, they all seemed to happen to me today. And I used to enjoy visits to Wallaroo!
2.5 hours after I started this adventure I finally had the prize in hand. Took an Anniversary Geocoin to move as reward and hurried away.
Cheers I think!

Went to visit the cache and drop off a coin. Surprised to discover the last finder took the only pen as a swap. [:(!] So until we leave a replacement writing device, finders will have to supply their own. Left a TBG coin (TB1650Z), picked up Travel Buddy TB.
Found it easily on second look, it was easier coming up to it than working down to it. Dropped off TB Travel Buddy.
This was really interesting. The geo-kids and Rufus had a great time exploring Wallaroo to get the answers. Although, there appears to be a plaque missing from 'Fountain'. We managed to answer these questions by searching the web.
We chose the right direction for the final assault, for these rocks are our favourite holiday walk destination! How exciting to find a cache was located here. Dare we say.....
"an easy find!"
Took the "The World is your GeoCaching Mollusc" geo coin.
Took: Tiny worry doll, frog, dolphin
Left: 3 marbles, shark key ring, spinning top.

I have been giving this cache the hairy eyeball since it came out a couple of months or two ago. Looked like the devils cache to me. Lots of waypoints, heaps of questions, complicated math and rocks. Everything you love to hate
Turns out it is not that bad. The lots of waypoints are close together and the questions are generally pretty self evident.
The complicated math is a very useful checksum to confirm that you have the right numbers. I had the time and the inclination to create a spreadsheet. If you get a number even slightly incorrect it all turns seriously pear shaped.
And then the rocks. Firstly the numerous logs told us that the port side was the right marker. Lots of rocks out there.
The GPSr was on song. For 20 mintues it sat there on a rock saying 0m with a 4m error. No fisher folk in residence to I had the spot to myself. The tadpoles were further back trying to fill up the channel from the mole.
Lots of clambering and swearing. Some more clambering and some more swearing. A great deal of groping and peering too. Some more clambering and some more swearing. Some more groping and peering.
Eventually there it was. Tada. Woohoo. 3m from the GPSr that was still saying 0m with a 4m error. How good is that!!!
Second find of this cache today. This can't be that hard. Cannot believe Mrs E (6 months pregnant) found that there.[:p] Wallaroo rocks, OK.

Dropped off TBG The World is Your GeoCaching Mollusc Geocoin to be a bit closer to the seaside.
did the clues and maths yesterday. Got to within 90 odd metres but decided that we didn't want to get our feet (or anything else) wet. Returned today and we realised we must have done the calculations for C incorrectly. Took a punt and worked on the other bearings and presto - success. Thanks J & J for great cache with lots of fun nd a fabulous introduction to caching for Ab-Ako and Gum-Cuz.

Got all the clues and then the maths started going wrong and then noticed the 1km walk and then everyone was complaining about caching.
Then I gave up.
Then I gave up.
Had a great time walking around finding the history of the town. Got to GZ and went the wrong way - no one volunteering to swim! Drove to the correct area and 4 of us searched for over half an hour with the continuous chant of "I hate rocks" from Mrs Klem. Found lots of fishing tackle, chip packets, margarine container, icecream bucket, drink cans etc. but no cache. Did I tell you I HATE ROCKS! In the end we had to give up - which is horrible when you know that it IS there. May come back for another holiday and have another search. Best part was watching a fisherman trying to retrieve his folding chair and a rod which had blown into the water. Thanks anyway for the time spent in Wallaroo. J&J
This was fun.... Try doing it with a fairy! While I of course kept my spirits up, certain that it was there, I must wonder what the fountain had to do with anything. Perhaps the chance to meet wallaroo's own "Crazy guy"? He was nice enough, but a little.... mmm.
Anyway, found the spot, after going around the wrong way, and ended up at the end, by which point the fairy had decided if it wasn't there, I'd be sold off so she could buy 4 inches of beachfront... Luckily, it was found, rather well hidden, under many rocks. Lucky.
Took us the better part of a day, so well worth it.

Good chance to study some local history. Had trouble with one number in the coordinates at first attempt but managed to find okay. Top effort in putting this together J&J.
Found with Team Ermalesh. We parked and strolled around town for the clues. Once again I let the Ermies do the math (they are so much better at that sort of thing . 3 Adults scaling GZ for at least 10 minutes, we were almost going to give up when Mrs Ermalesh comes up trumps. I think we all had looked over that spot at least 2 times before!
Thanks for the cache and thanks Ermies for your mathematical skills (even if there was a couple of heated debates over some elements of the math), (I think Mrs Ermies won them as well [:p]).
Can't remember the swaps, I know there were some tears shed over them, but I did take the travel coin.

Found 16:15. 3rd of 3 FFTD as we cached our ways out of Pt Hughes for the afternoon.
Had a lovely stroll around the centre of Wallaroo for the afternoon. Mr E let Mrs E and Mrs S from the 'Pack of Sullies' gather the answers. Had to throw together a quick Excel document to handle the long division required to work out the GZ.
With the caclulated GZ coordinates in the GPSr headed off to the area to commence our search.......until we realised that there was still another 100 meters or so to GZ. With no more land to walk on and the inability (yet ) to walk on water headed back to the geovehicle to drive closer to the actual GZ.
Left Mr S (The very reluctant cacher) in the car, as we headed off to search for the cache. Searched every single rock and crevase around, with the yells of 'found it' coming from the geokids when they found a piece of rubbish that sort of looked like a cache container. Verging on giving up, when Mrs E (6 months pregnant) came up with the goods. I think that gives us a joint silver place .
T: Finger Puppet, Discovered coin, L: Cards + TB Wanderer, SL. Thanks J&J for a most enjoyable afternoon caching in Wallaroo
