Out on the hunt for some old archived cache's and had a look for this one, it probably got muggled when people were stealing all the ammo tin cache's.
It probably wasn't a good idea to advertise.

Thank's for the challenge

I checked this one out and this time it is gone I'm afraid. I have been checking regularly and it's only recently disappeared.

We gave this one a go the other day and on not finding it and with three DNF previous I emaild the cacher that found it in June for a hint. With their help we went back today and had another look in the area that they suggested using the cordinates that they felt represented a more accurate GZ. I firmly believe that this one is gone, but only the owner - who has not been on site for many months - or someone who has found it before can confirm this. Perhaps it should be archieved

no find and gps was very misleading. had a chat to fellow cachers I met at Gelato Gulch, they didn't find this one either.

Where is it???? Past the barricade? Up heartbrake hill?? Gps was way too confused. It wanted us to go over the river. Gave up.

Didn't find this one. I think it may be the other side of the barrier as part of the track is barrackaded off.

Since the GPS was showing the cache well across the river, we went for a bit of a swim. After climbing a mountain, and bush bashing past poisonous trees, poisonous snakes and poisonous birds, we couldn't find anything after two hours of diligent searching. We bashed our way back down, swam across again, and had a look at the clue.

Thank goodness we had the clue. Actually, we found the cache without tremendous difficulty, but we decided to take a better waypoint. We averaged 400 readings to get an accuracy of 9 meters. Don't go across the river!

Thanks!

12.35 - After finding "Gelato Gulch", we had another easy find at crystal cascades. Another good spot for a swim. Not today, it was a miserable rainy and misty day. Nevertheless, we, Pixie from NZ being introduced to this past-time and me, enjoyed it anyway. A bad day in the forest always beats a good day in the office. +/-0. T4TC.

Nice cache in a beautiful region!!! Short after we dropped the cache back in place a group of teenagers with a carton of beer arrived. Lucky us that we were a litte bit earlier there than they were!!!

Hi all,
Danielc and Danielv found this one this morning. It was a lovely day and a beautiful walk. I have been meaning to visit this area for about 50 years and Geocaching gave me the incentive to finally do it. It was so well worth the effort. The cache was actually found by Danielv using the hint as the GPS was pointing across the valley. We checked the co-ordinates and came up with ones very close to Walterhellmut's. Took nothing left our geocaching card.
Thanks for the cache.
Cheers, and Good Hunting!!
Dan.

Thank heavens for the clue because gps's are next to useless in the bottom of rock walled gorges. Closest it got was 100m.
Found as we expanded the search out from the target.

Went walking in the rain this morning in search of the cache. Had no GPSr for most of the walk due to the cloud cover but found it after a brief search.
When I was reading the log book I realised that I was a day early to celebrate this caches 2nd birthday.

Our eighth find for the day. This is a lovely area, and it has been about eight years since we were last up here. Found two teenage muggles sitting at the GZ, but after sitting beside them for a few minutes (for Mrs Camel to get her breath back) they obviously felt uncomfortable and left. From then, finding the cache was quite simple (it was more or less exposed in full view), so we have hidden it quite well in the same location. Took a US quarter dollar, left an Aus. penny. TFTC.

Lovely walk despite being accompanied by a grumpy teenager!
Easy find. Took Siam keyring and car, left ball and sharpner.
Thanks

Great walk with lots of fish and turtles observed along the way. Great hide in an amazingly busy location. There barely seemed to be a spare minute where a mugll wasn't coming or going.

Left flower and Siam key ring

Found this one at 1630. Most of the muggles were on their way home, however a couple of groups followed us up so we had to sit and wait for them to head back down. We scoured possibly every inch of GZ and were starting to get frustrated when Bumblebee used her muscles and revealed the cacheBig Grin. Ballbag pulled it from its hiding spot. TNLN as the rain was starting to really kick in.

Started this one late in the day so there was not too many muggles around. Problem was the GOS signal disappeared, and I arrived at what I measure by paces should be the GZ at dusk. No sign of the clue either.

After digging around in the dark for a bit, I eventually found the clue by using the backlight of my PDA as a torch! After a little more searching by PDA light, I found the cache. It would have been a whole lot easier in the light!

The good part about walking back in the dark was that I got to see heaps of fireflies! Little green lights darting around - it was magical.

T: Toothpaste
L: Bouncy rubber ball for kids

TFTC, it is cleverly hidden unless, as the log reflects, you get naught muggles who do the wrong thing!

I hadn't been up here for many years ... thought the place would be crawling with kids being school holidays and all ... but still managed to find a nice bubbling pool to ourselves and enjoy the REALLY COLD water, that was after we grabbed the cache of course ...
thanks for the cache Magpie75

Today was my second attempt and I returned much luckier[^].
It turned out that the cache is really where the CLUE says. Relying just on the COORDINATES would send you to the other side of the creek where it definitely cannot be[:(!]. If you have a GPS signal then you should try the new data given above Wink.
At this site stealth is really required. You will not have muggle free access for long periods.
It was nice to repeat the walk as it is a very stunning one.

Last find for Sunday Cache hunt. Found 12 noon exactly.
What a great walk, it has been 15 years since I have been here.Found Cache within minutes, had to wait for a few muggles to leave before we checked the treasure.
Didn't see the turtles, but fed the fish and the eels.Had a picnic lunch by the cascades and an Icecream on the way home for the kids.

[I looked really thoroughly] close to the BBC and I moved some rocks. [I could not find the cache. My GPS said there was still a distance of some 50 m. But that would mean the cache is on the other side of the creek.] The BBC I saw is situated at S16°57.802'E145°40.329'. [Anyway, next time I will try it again.

this was a bit of a walk once again showing how unfit I am but what a beautiful spot we watched a group of kids jumping off the rocks and saw turtles then got to the cache and was attacked by march flies this would be hard to get to if someone was having a BBQ. T chicken L koala and our smile.

Another one for crew mum & Kids. nice views, fed turtles & fish, had a swim. Another good Cairns find. thanks The Crew.

18-Dec-06
Great hiding spot, but made very difficult by a Cairns Water maintenance crew who arrived at the same time as us and wouldn't GO AWAY! It would usually be a fairly quiet spot.

We chose this cache because there were 3 travel bugs who had been there for 2 months, and thought they'd like to get traveling again.

23-Nov-06
Thankyou for checking it Goons, I was a little concerned and had considered adding a note to be careful of glass / debris if attempting this cache, it's good to know it's not been damaged.

22-Nov-06
After seeing and hearing media reports of muggles partying in the area we were concerned for the cache's welfare so did a quick check on the site today. All appears well. We did not open the cache but it is there and surrounds do not appear to have been disturbed. Smile[^]

No muggles and even no evidence of muggle-partys but a pleasant walk and a quick and easy find.

Thanks for the cache.

PS.: Sorry for our delay in logging, but we just arrived in Germany. It's always a bit problematic to find an internet access when we are on holidays in Australia.

Enjoyed the walk up the hill with all the March flies as company but a lovely walk just the same.
Took nothing dropped off Diving Dogg TB who had decided he didn't like the idea of Blue Water and the crocs.

Have some photographic evidence of the Diving Dogg's experiences.
He decided that staying at the brand new Blue Water was fraught with danger so opted for a stay at the fresh water of Cascade premium Lite.

great it was nice, nice march flies made me scream with joy!Sad had a nice swim with christine at the end cold but beautiful!!

Found the cache at 1.30pm. What a beautiful area. Pretty lots of muggles in swim. Enjoyed walk along to the cache. (Found msg from trishtrish35 Thanks) Took: TB and Coin. Left: Travel bug - Katie Bug and DaveSyn &amp... Thank you for organise the cache and hunt.

Overcast and drizzly day so the walk in was really cool and enjoyable. Although a week day, we had to time our find carefully to avoid passing muggles. Picked up Luvvy's Boomerang TB and Dropped Atherton TB, also dropped Lancashire coin. Left bottle opener and other assorted goodies.

Very enjoyable, thankyou for placing this cache Magpie75.

We were very lucky with muggles at this one we passed a lot coming back down the hill and got to the top to find no one there. Found the well hidden cache although the is a very interesting log from a muggle in the log book. TNLNSL but we did drop off a TB.

Came early in the morning with no muggles around. Ammocan was covered realy well with rocks, but it was the only obvious place to look so i found it in the end. Left toy car took Dorkfish Geocoin.

03-Oct-06
There were lots of muggles on the track and at the swimming holes, but they didn't tend to linger long near GZ. So it didn't take long until we had a clear shot at it. Yarrum junior introduced two of his friends to geocaching today, and it was with great excitement that they made their discovery.
After replacing the cache we had a swim at one of the pools, very refreshing.
Took Little Tigger TB + compass clip

We checked this one out in the daylight hours and there was too much muggle activity to even get a park so we decided to be adventurous and venture out at night for this cache...We took along relatives from Cairns who were really skeptical about what we were planning on doing and finding but once the night air hit their lungs they were pumping up the hill quicker then ever...GPS had us 100meters away but using the clue and a little nous we found it no worries...Took nothing..Dropped of Little Tigger TB for a stay...SL TFTH Very Happy

FTF. I have visited this area a couple of times but had to come back for the hunt. GPS signal was a little scratchy but the hint helped. Water level is low but it still okay for the quick dip. As usual there were a lot of mugglers in the area. Took DVD and left Compass snap lock clip. SLTFTC
