OCW PelDroedGwin After did king out the lookout we headed down the trail. A really fun journey, the ladders were a surprise but definitely made it easier. We saw some abseilers on the way. Once at the bottom we continued past the end of trail marker and crossed the river, no wet feet. After scoping out a couple of options we picked a way up and soon had CiH. Loved this one, the rock formations and scenery is amazing, we even saw a couple of black flanked wallabies. Well worth a favourite point! Tftc
Ocw the Bebes. A lovely walk for this one. Really enjoyed the hike. The cache was pretty easy to find at GZ and Coords were good. Tftc
We decided to do that trail to the river and it was so nice !! Incredible track in the middle of gorges and with a luxurious vegetation. Hot but not so hot !! We really enjoyed it. So much that we decided to push up to the PZ of this cache. And that was the good decision because we first get another view on that valley and second found this nice box !! Great. Favorised of course.TFTC / MPLC
This was a good and difficult one. After the normal trail down to the river, crossing it and then climbing up some large rocks / cliffs with cobwebs, I was finally near the coordinates. I walked around for some minutes and finally I found it. TFTC.#284
Day 2/6 on our journey from Perth to Exmouth. Small group tour so its fab when there are caches at the main tourist spots along the way to keep me busy. I wasnt sure I would have time to grab this one, but as a group of them did some abseiling, I dashed off to find the cache. Nice old cache in a great spot. All in good condition. Muggle husband stayed at the riverbed and watched TFTC #1472 in total. #4 for today.
This one was tricky, from the normal trail down, crossing the river, then climbing up some really large rocks. Now arriving at the GZ, I thought it was a cache but turns out its just some rocks. Hang on, I kicked some rocks and there it was, the cache. I tried putting back the rocks where it was covered but it wasnt able to fit all of them. So for the next cacher who found this, please put it back better than me. TFTC! Fav point!
yeayy, as a beginner i was a bit afraid of the level but iv made it pretty quickly (luck of the beginner maybe aha), tftc tho, loved the content and the challenge around!
Great climb up the side of the gorge. We were hoping for a swim at the end of the hike but it was too green for us. Lots of swappables in the container. Thanks for the cache and the view along with it. Cheers, Ben and Bree
This was the best walk for today as we're surprised by the rock channel. There was a school group doing a bit of abseiling. We crossed over and started climbing the other side. We startled a rock wallaby that headed off into the distance. We used the GPS to get close then started searching overhangs and came up with it relatively fast. Signed the old log book. There seems to be two on the go at the moment and replaced as we found it.Thanks for placing this cache for us to find
What a great area - we enjoyed looking out from the Skywalk and Nature's Window. We then drove down to the Z-bend for a walk. Mr CF made it to the bottom (past a group of people abseiling) and then up the other side. The GPSr coordinates were good and a (reasonably) quick find was made. Log signed and stone put back in place. A favourite point from me! TFTC.
After climbing down the gorge, left my wife to wait for me as I went across the river and up to the cache. Followed my phones GPS and flood level instincts and kept climbing till I saw the cache about 20m away. Thanks for the hide!
Our first walk in the park today and what a beauty. We managed to rock hop across the water without mishap. Lots of scrambling and avoiding spider webs. Our devices gave quite different altitude, mine 72 and Mr C 63. We found the cache in good condition and replaced it with the rocks on top.
Sad to say this one was no joy for us today
Mr Parko climbed quite high but was concentrating more on the altitude and decided against going any further. We do hope to be back one day and will try again. Thanks rayozzy

I was close to this one looking for the nearby EC and just had to have a go at this one as well, a cool day made my job easier, thanks for placing and

This was one we had spotted some time ago from a long way away and was never sure when we get here. We did get a short trip to Geraldton last year but not enough time to explore further north. So when another opportunity arose we made sure to add this one and was fortunate the river levels had dropped although would have been a sight on the gorge. We did think about going straight down for the Z Bend but signs said no go so looked at the river trail and headed along which put us within 150m of the cache. Some nice rock hopping on the river tail and the ladders made it easy but we did see and hear some screams and people turning back a the sand on the rocks is a little slippery at various stages and they did have thongs and sandals on.
Great views in the gorge and spot to cross was soon picked out and executed without getting wet. A bit of a scramble up the other side and no issues finding the ammo can. We completed the signing duties and re hid.

Heading north. I'm not sure how far up we will go.
The views are amazing. It was a bit wet today.
River is flowing fairly fast, with no way of crossing it.

Well, the Murchison River is in full flood, nope we're not crossing the river today, waved at the geocache, and that's the closest we got, hope you're still high and dry...
Great location for a cache. After crossing the river there are so many choices to scramble up and find the right ledge. Once at GZ the hint was helping to find the right crack. TFTC
We camped at Murchison Station exploring the sights around Kalbarri. Really enjoyed climbing down the gorge to the river. Amazing work of nature. Once at river level found it wasn’t so easy to cross, especially after the recent rains in the area making the river a little higher than it would be normally. We headed downstream and decided there wasn’t a safe place to cross so retreated back up stream for a couple hundred metres, eventually finding a spot where we could do some rock hoping to the other side. Headed to GZ and followed the hints in the logs and made our way higher. Didn’t take too long to spot the cache and leave our name. Thanks for the adventure rayozzy.
Geofamily went to Z Bend lookout but did not went down the gorge and attempted this cache as there was flooding following the heavy rains... Maybe another time.
I went to z bend lookout and looked right to find a path. I didn't see it but I saw people down the gorge and decided to take river trail down to river. It was really fun walk! I enjoyed rock jumping and balancing. At to bottom of the gorge it was a bit challenging to find a way to the other side. I think that I walked about 100 metres along the river until I found a place to get across. On the other side I decided that I start low and work my way up to the cache. It worked well and I spotted this one easily once I was enough close. Thank you for the adventure and the cache!

Find #580. This is what caching is all about. After a cool hike down to the bottom of the gorge, then over the other side to find this. Love this stuff. Took a little time to get the right ledge, as there are few around, but the co-ords are accurate. Would fav this if I was a premium member. TFTC.
Geo-hubby set off to do this cache around 10 am while I stayed with the geo-schnauzers back at our accommodation. He found a spot to cross the water by rock hopping then as previous finders mentioned, he found a flattish area to start climbing. Sensational terrain with ladders to descend and tight crevices to negotiate. The co-ords were spot on and he was soon recording the visit. Thanks rayozzy for making this the highlight cache of our Kalbarri visit.
Down in the gorge throwing ourselves off cliffs with Kalbarri Abseiling. Had a bit of time at lunch down by the river. So, with just 130 metres to the cache it was a case of 'why not'? Thanks rayozzy for the hide.
Had a great time walking to the bottom of the gorge for this cache. We had the occasional shower go through and everything was wet wet and glistening. The path towards the end of the river trail was spectacular. When I reached the bottom I then realised I had to cross the river and scale the other side.
I slipped while crossing and my foot ended up in the water but luckily my waterproof hiking boots kept them dry. I began to climb the other side and reached GZ and then spotted a UPOS a couple of metres off and it turned out to be the cache.
I'm glad to be able to claim a find after the effort that has gone in to getting here.
A favourite from me for this one

We liked it that we had to go a bit off the path to find it. Love the ammo box.
It was a great trip along the west coast of Australia. There was a lot to discover and of course we also looked for caches. Some caches lured us to places that we would not have visited otherwise. Sometimes we were rewarded with a great view or a wonderful location. Some caches we discovered very quickly, others we searched longer and some we searched in vain. Now we are back home and think back to a wonderful time in West Australia with great experiences and a lot of caches we have logged. This tradi is one of them.
Thanks to all owners for hiding their caches. They made our time in Australia even more exciting. PePPer812

I was doing a road trip from Darwin to Perth and found this cache along the way. The climb up the cliff face was great and the view down simply awesome. It's fascinating to think that flood water does get so that high that it is necessary to hide the cache at this spot. Thanks.
Was für eine tolle aber auch anstrengende Wanderung um diesen Cache zu erreichen. Vor allem mit dem letzten Stück hatten wir nicht gerechnet.aber wer ein richtiger Cacher ist.... Hier gibt es einen Favo.
With only GPS as guidance didnt find it. Searched for over half an hour but the compass wasnt too accurate it seemed. Really nice place for a cache!
It was a very impressive tour down to the River and following the river into the gorge. Nice place for the cache

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply visiting the NP of Kalbarri.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'rayozzy' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Kal Mk II' and the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest.

Hi there rayozzy.
We found your cache **"Kal Mk II"** today. (This makes our find count 22792).
We cached "Z Bend" in Kalbarri National Park today & found your cache **"Kal Mk II"**.
(This brings our total find count to 22792). We had an interesting trek around the area & found 2 caches today & DNF'd 0.
We thoroughly enjoyed the scenery, especially the colours in the rocks and the traces of fossils and rocks where the river bed once was. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic wander around Australia. We awarded this cache a favourite point for the journey, the scenery and the cache hide itself. We have been caching for many years yet this cache is the one needed to complete our first D/T grid.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** Our GPS led us straight to the cache.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Two Smiley Badges.
**Grabbed Trackable:** "Coke Bottle".
Thanks for the hunt today,

A nice hike dowdn the river with shade spot on the way and cool water , The cache was easy to found, but the hard part is to find a safe way to reach the GZ, I was only at 30 meters of the cache, but how to get there, finaly, I found a relatively easy way tho get ther, I was happy that was not

Great geo. A fabulous walk down. Don't give up. You need to climb up the rocks on the other side to get to this one so be a bit careful. It can be a bit tricky but well worth it

Wow what a hike up and down plus the challenge to cross the river ...... I was very tempted to strip off and jump in but then I spied a rock hopping crossing and acquired the cache took lots of photos of the area and a fav point your way for the journey.
Spent the day looking around Z bend and Natures Window while in Kalbarri on holidays.
Incredible location here, did the walk down and back up again.
While down here the kids and I found a spot to cross the river then headed up the other side to GZ. Luckily a quick find and a safe ascent and decent. Great spot for a cache hide. Much appreciated hide. TFTC

Currently I am visiting Kalbarri during the school holidays.
I first walked down along the 4 ways trail to the river. This is a really beautiful trail and down at the river I found a nice spot in the sun to have my lunch and rest.
I explored the nearby area taking photos then headed back up the trail to the carpark.
I refilled my water bottle and set off on the river trail, first diverting to the lookout to enjoy the magnificent views down to the river below.
I continued on the river trail bringing me to a series of steep descents into a narrow rock crevice, at times using provided ladders.
Above loomed overhanging rock ledges dripping water down into the narrow crevice. Negotiating tight twists and turns, scrambling down steep steps and over scattered boulders, the path soon opened out into an amphitheatre filled with tumbled boulders and some gnarly old gum trees whose roots spread out, desperately clutching onto the rocky ground through any crevice they could find.
The multi layered cliffs loomed overhead and the river lay before me with the afternoon sun lighting up the cliff face on the other side.
I pulled out the phone to take some photos and opened up the App to see that the cache was not far away but across the other side of the river. After reading previous logs it seemed I would need to climb up quite high to reach the cache.
To cross the river I made my way upriver looking for a safe crossing and an access which did not require a difficult climb up the sheer cliff face.
I came to an area where I could rock hop across and make my way up the cliff to a large flat shelf then make my way back towards GZ.
As I got closer I was able to scramble up some smaller rock faces and through a some scrubby bushes to GZ. A short search revealed a tell tale rock pile in a crevice and the cache was soon located. It's always nice to find an ammo can and they always get a favourite point from me.
From GZ I could see up to the lookout point and some of the viewers were calling out into the valley.
With the log book signed and the cache replaced in its hidey hole the sun was now getting lower in the afternoon sky so it was time to tackle the tricky return trip.
I was able to weave my way down, crisscrossing along the cliff face picking the easier way down. At the bottom I could rock hop across and begin making my way back to the carpark.
I had negotiated the crevice and begun the less difficult part of the trail. I was feeling quite exhausted from such a strenuous day of walking rocky trails, climbing up and down steep cliffs and rock hopping over rivers, my legs were struggling to keep up the work but I was now not far from the carpark and pushed myself on.
A slightly larger step presented to me and I lunged up but my tired leg gave out, I lost my balance and started to topple back down. I thrust my left leg out to stop my fall and instantly feel a sharp pain in my upper leg and something snap in my hamstring. It feel like I had been hit with a stick and my leg collapsed under me, I was able to steady myself by falling back onto the step I had been trying to climb up.
The pain in my leg surged and I felt faint and dizzy, I forced myself to take long deep breaths until the pain started to subside.
Movement caused the pain to shoot through my leg and I sat and wondered how I would make it back to my vehicle.
As I sat waiting to see how I would be able to continue, another walker was returning from the bottom and asked if I was OK. I explained what had happened and he offered to help me back to the carpark.
Using his help I was able to hobble back to my car and back to my accommodation.
That evening I sat on an ice pack and with the help of some panadol I was able to make my way around but I could see that I would have a few days of very little activity ahead.
Despite my mishap I had a very enjoyable day and was glad to be able to log a couple of more smilies on the map.

What an epic adventure! Last minute plans to get to Kalbarri and beyond and I remembered this cache filled in a very rare spot on my second DT loop, so it was on the list of “let’s give this a crack”. Reading logs made us confident of getting the result here.
We climbed down the river track as detailed at the carpark and it got us to 100m from the cache, we then walked along the edge of the river until I plunged in and made the quick wade across the river and began searching and searching for the cache. Came up with nothing and the phone still said a considerable distance to go but I thought it was the rocks playing tricks.
Up further we went, way further than we imagined the water would get to and eventually the GPS started counting down from 14m to 12m to 6m to 4m After walking along the flat and we found the cache 3m from where the phone indicated. Don’t worry about altitude just keep climbing until you get to a very flat ledge and trust the gps.
An epic cache and very happy to have my name in it! My third last spot on the DT grid filled.
Day 2 of our trip North, leaving Kalbarri and heading to Denham.
We started off early grabbing a couple of caches around town before heading out to the National Park to find some earth caches and traditionals whilst visiting nature’s window and some of the great sights we didn’t have time for on our last visit.
The highlight of the day was a cache called Kal Mk II which took us on a huge walk down to the bottom of the z bend and crossing the river and climbing up a significant rock face. An absolute ripper cache.
We continued along visiting another of team pathfinders Midwest history caches before heading up NWCH to the Shark Bay World heritage area, stopping in at a number of earth caches and popular beach spots before making our way into the town of Denham where we are staying for the night.
We had to skip town straight away to get to monkey Mia to grab the virtual cache there before returning to Denham via Francois perin homestead and the hot spring there, which was a an interning location.
After getting back into Denham we made plans to catch up with local geocachers Jowiba at the local shark bay pub for a beer and a chat, after a great chat we bid farewell and picked up the three remaining caches we had to find in town before heading to the foreshore to cook a bbq dinner.
A huge day out and special thanks to the local COs for their caches and hospitality. Thanks

On a rainy morning, we were alone on the trail. No muggle To disturb us To cross the river and find the cache. A big box. mplc
After taking in the breathtaking view from the platform above, we decided to talk the River trail and climb down to the river. The path was well worth it! Being down at the river, this cache is so close... we just had to continue climbing along the river bed and up again to find the cache. The coordinates are pretty accurate, so we found the cache pretty quickly. Thanks for this great cache!
Definitely one of my favorite cache in Australia!
The walk is great, the cache location is very nice, and the ammo box made the kids super excited!
Many thanks for this wonderful walk!
Cache is here, and in great condition.

Went for a hike today in the park and also a swim! Thanks so much for this cache it was beautiful here
Parkacruz joined us on this journey even though they have already found the cache.
Difficult climb but a rewarding view along the way. A nice refreshing swim to cool after signing the log.
A favourite point coming your way.

We came back today with TeamBastholm for them to claim the smiley, again thank you for this cache, we enjoyed another beautiful swimdown at zigzag gorge, cache still in great condition and most definitely not washed away with floods
Wow. What a trek. Had to tag along with complete strangers going down.. just in case! The climb up the other side was far more dangerous and that was alone! All's good though. Cache in great condition. Fave point coz i enjoyed the hike. Tftc
What a great area this is, the weather wan't crash hot but we still had a ball, highly reccomend it! TFTC rayozzy
My favorite cache so far, nice climb up the gorge and quite challenging without reception, but we found it! Great feeling and much better views. Thanks for the cache!
Found the cache while visiting Kalbarri Nationalpark and climbing down the gorge and up the rocks. Tftc from Germany!
Took a TB and left a FP!

Wasn't sure if the chance would arise to grab this cache, but the mother-in-law surprisingly decided that she was capable of the River Trail Walk.
Once down, while the others rested, the kids and I hopped the river to make the find. Coords were spot on which helped.
Surprised to see we were the second finders for today, but the park was busy. TFTC rayozzy.

I was prepared to find more difficult cache. The way was so amazing. Rocks, ladders, still down and finally the riverbed. The river was dry. Only 5 weeks per year there is a water from northern cyclons flooded. I was with my nocacher group. They said they will wait for me. But I decided to go by the way, which finally ends not good for me. I was traped under the huge rock saddle surrounded by steep rocks. I really like my life, so I went back without the cache. We had a plan, so I stoped the hunting.
The walk into the gorge is very cool. Be Careful we have seen a lot of bees.
The way to the cache is not as easy. The coordinates are perfect.
Thank's for the view

Another smiley added here today on our way towards home from a 5 week Kimberley and Pilbara break TFTC that was definitely a trek but worth it
Quick find here, the weather was perfect for this hike.
The elevation was 83m for us, coordinates were spot on. TFTH

Wow. This should be T10. Well worth the hike. We have been coming to Kalbarri for years but never ventured down to the river at Z bend. Lots of crevices to hide this one, had us up and down the wall as the vertical aspect changes very quickly. Definitely a favourite. TFTC
