Logs
Quick find of the cache but the log was a sodden mess if it was indeed the log. So a trip back to the car for a nice new one.
Great when you are new to this. Easy to find. In a safe spot, but metal tin not sistema
Cache 1401 Heading to Christchurch for a geocaching holiday this week where I’m targeting hidden days/months and a few D/T and to sign challenge caches. This cache was a hidden month. A quick trip down the bank and I was soon where I needed to be and something suspicious caught my eye, but when I went over I was greeted by a sad site the cache was literally swimming in its secondary container, pulled the cache out and tipped out the water but the cache has seen better days, the log disintegrated in my hand it was so wet. I will add a needs maintenance log T4TC
Cache container was swimming it another container, cache container is pretty stuffed and there is no log now
Continuing our caching for a second day we set off in mild temperatures and bright sunshine.
Everything waterlogged here and impossible to sign the log. Please refer to Hazedarus photo.
Thank you for cache.

Thank you for cache.
We're cleaning up some strays after previous expeditions and finding newer placements. The weather is superb and we're having a ball. Found the cache in a tin without lid. It had a mint tin in it. Both containers were full of water. It was impossible to sign the log. Took a picture. Thank you for the cache.
Found the now empty blue rusty tin with no lid, so hid it better and replaced log in a new container. Tftc

Not a sistema, but a rusty tin container at this stage.
Going under bridges reminds me of caches back home in Latvia - it's like every bridge there has a cache almost.
T-rating should probably be a bit higher?
Kia ora! Paldies!

Wanted to go for a dip as was hot and grumpy after chasing smurfs. Sadly no water today, but this works for me as I've never ligged a cache while sitting in a dry river bed
thanks for bringing us here

Today was a beautiful day in Canterbury. Hot and not much wind. We had to run an errand in Greendale so decide to pick up a few caches on the way home. Little miss three loved discovering where this one was hidden and we saw a tractor. Beware of the barley grass!
Out with a picnic on a lovely day to find caches. Cache is no longer 2l itres but it is still all good and dry. Thanks for bringing us here, no creatures here today. Thanks for the cache Hello Mrs.
We are on our way round visiting Smurfs. Stopped off here for a quick snag and tag on our way past. Cheers.
Its a long weekend in Christchurch, with The Seagnoid, Zara and Toby, and Star Gazing on the radar. Unfortunately clouds put paid to seeing stars but great event meeting up with the locals. Enjoyed visiting Halswell Quarry, Lincoln, Port Hills and running around after the Smurf family. Cool, fine days and NO rain made for an awesome weekend. Will be back again soon.

Must get really interesting when these fords become... well, fords!
The road to here from the coal track is pretty bumpy for a paved road. So bumpy we saw one local preferring to drive on the grass rather than on the seal.
Came down on Thursday night with Taybeedragon for a three day geocaching trip and to collect a rare cache type - so rare that this will be the first ever for me - a 10-Year Celebration Event cache (now rejigged as Community Celebration Events). But that was yesterday alng with some adventure labs and Halswell Quarry, and I still have a whole day and a half to muck about in Christchurch before heading home. Time to smurf some more caches!

At first look I thought it was just rubbish on the groundbalthough there was a suspicious looking sticker inside. So I went back and read the clue properly. Not the original container but a scout of the area revealed a very soggy log nearby. I replaced the log in the best bag I could find (he he) and put close to where i thought original coordinates might be.
Out and about exploring more of the CHCH area, and also targetting specific caches for my Jasmer challenge.
Another Jasmer cache, nice quick find in the obvious spot. Nice being under here is that it's out of the elements and shouldn't be interferred with by muggles! Excellent.
TFTC , the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 10 find(s) of 11 today, making this find #1943

Called here this afternoon along with a couple of enthusiastic young boys - my grandson plus a friend. A quick find here. Signed log, TFTC
After finishing up my work commitments out beyond Dunsandel, I had a few hours to spare before I had to head to the airport and home. I went off to find a few caches. Classic cache! A bit smaller than the original but still a good size and in very good condition. No water (or trolls) under the bridge today. Thanks for keeping this one alive. TFTC, Biggles.
Gorgeous morning, I had thought it may rain after the fog last night...
I'm on a 5 day caching trip in the south island. Have a few aims - right now its to up a few specific caches that I need to complete my grid for a challenge - and find some interesting caches on the way 1800km later I can say I've accomplished my aim!
THis is the last day, and it's time to collect some caches closer to christchurch. THough sitting here thinking I could have just spent 5 days collecting caches in chch itself... ...

Having a great day around this area and picking up the caches. Dry and intact here. TFTC
Got some cheap flights a few weeks ago so the plan was to come down for a big run in Ashburton to achieve the 120 in one day and get the gemstone. OMG! We started at the crack of dawn and finished in the dark. Foggy and cool but cleared by lunchtime. It should have been achieved much quicker. We had not really planned a route and detoured a bit. Some of this backfired as we ended up on some long gravel roads that had missing caches and was most disappointing. We got stuck for about an hour on a multi I specially wanted for qualifying for another cache which was frustrating. However, we made it - with a few to spare I believe - but are totally shattered. Too many to log individually so are doing the copy and paste. Many thanks to all who placed caches. What beautiful countryside and we love the fact we could pull over and park safely. Not keen on the many prickly pine trees so many were hidden under. The breeze only got up in the afternoon and it was a lovely warm breeze - not like Manawatu freezing winds even at this time of the year. More traffic on the roads than we expected and they fair motor along. Many thanks for the caches. It has made the whole trip worthwhile.
Out getting some Smurfs

Wow That was an experience I hope I never have to repeat. Found the location no worries and jumped out of the car to go retrieve the cache. Found and was busy signing the logbook when a 4wd went flying across and man did it scare the living @#$% out of me. I didn't hear it coming down the road it was as if it came out of nowhere. What a racket it made. TFTC and thanks for an unforgetable experience.
Nice to get an old cache such as this one while enjoying a day pottering around in the country collecting a few local caches. *TFTC The Wanglers, #8940*
First day of our South Island trip and had a great time touring the area and collecting caches taking us to some remote locations with tmann421.

I was visiting this cache with Peter 007. There has been major maintainence at both ends of the bridge.
The cache was nowhere to be seen and I believe it is gone.
I have replaced and placed in the location it was when I found it last.
Also left a TB.
I have let TW know.

Out Smurf hunting with experienced geocachers Purdiepurdie and KotukuSI. Had a great day and learnt lots. Signed logs P2K. Also learnt how to put down an emergency cache !
One way in Greendale (Canterbury) was transferred from Hello Mrs to user TheWanglers
Got a few hours to kill before kiwi nomads event so knocking off a few caches Quick find tftc another dry river bed to cross
Another day, another random drive to cache. We set off after lunch to find a few in the wider area, to see how far we get and what we can fit into an afternoon/evening. The weather was perfect - drizzle the whole day, turning into rain at times, meaning a general paucity of muggles A huge thanks to all CO's for their hides!!!
I decided to go for a walk around the block that included this cache. I left the nearby cache to tomorrow so as to continue my cache-a-day series.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Down south this week for some time with our local rep for some training (and after a couple of caches which I have targeted as in need for some special attention to meet the challenge that is the DGsc Challenge further North. along with Zorgon's Virtual Challenge.
It has been a mission to get here as time is always the curse for these out of town stays, and also the weather had to play its part (which it did) in the adventure. After having made a quick dash further down country for the virtual I thought to grab a few on the way back to christchurch (with a slight diversion from SH1) so as to try to finish off the 172 Challenge
So again thank you for the FUN of the hunt

As I was making breakfast this morning, I was thinking about my plan for the day. And I thought to myself about how many unfound caches I have as I haven't really gone out caching (Excuding my one a day) in a very very very long time!! So decided, hey, let's do this.
Picked this spot as a good area to get a whole bunch of caches, and not too close to home to interfere with my one a day.
Sorry for the boring logs, but I have mega work to be getting on with now!! But all the hides were fun and quick, just what I needed
Consec caching day #937

Nobody around when we stopped here today- and an easy scramble down to the necessary spot. tftc
Sevren found this cache before and we are here to find it for me. Quick find with the help of Sevren tftc
This one had me on my hands and knees and at one point I was 'driven over' but all good. It was easy to retrieve compared to some other caches of this type! Logged as Nosey Cat. TFTC
Out this way at the Highland Games, thought we could knock off a few caches. Daughter loved finding this one. Found, signed and returned. Thanks for the cache.
Out for a wee mission today to try and get a FTF up in the Malvern Hills, no luck. Grabbed this one on a beautiful clear winters day on the way home from Whitecliffs. Easy find at GZ played a bit in the creek with the 4wd. This helps me qualify for BaldEd's 172 Degree challenge and it was nice to be out today.
Thanks for the cache.

The hint only makes sense if you're a local, or you look at the road signs upon leaving. I didn't know the name of the 'one way' and was trying to decipher it at GZ. A nice spot which enabled kids and dogs to stretch their legs. A quick P&G. TFTC
Cool hide found this one in the dark. Had an experience while here but won't say what it was as it will give the hide away. TFTC.
Beaut day for a drive in the spring sunshine. Took the Zapahalo travel bug to start him on his adventures. Sent Miss Adventure in to get the cache. Nice easy find. TFTC.
while w did the honors here, b put billy on for a coffee in the sun. thanks for this spot.
760 - The CO wanted to check the cache so what better excuse did I have to find it. Man that is one yummy apple tree we passed. The apples didn't look quite ready to me but they sure past the taste test and were indeed ready for picking! There was only one way we could go after finding this cache... back to that tree! After loading up with our "bounty" and scoffing a few while we were collecting them, it was off, grins on our faces, reminiscing of other apple trees we had seen in recent weeks. TFTC
Was in the area with justmeg so took the time to check the cache after she found the cache. All is well.
