Cache is still there and is in much better condition than a heck of a lot of caches that aren't archived.
Having said this the lead fell out of the pencil as I was writing my log so what I wrote looks a bit dumb.
I love the little sheltered hollows like these that form amongst the dunes!!

Found on an extremely windy day. We were chewing sand for ages afterwards. The cache is in excellent condition. We printed this off earlier this year but ran out of time to do it then. Having read that U.N.C.L.E. had found it, we decided to do the same.
Hmm..first time I've found an archived cache! Cache is still there and in perfect condition. Pity someone couldn't adopt this and resurrect it. I can't really as I don't get to Invercargill enough to be able to make a committment to maintaining it. Very cool to drive on the beach made famous by Burt Munro.
Just about to give up when i struck the lid after scratching around in the sand. What a place sunny and mild and all walks of life enjoying the beach..views to Stuart Island, Riverton and hills near Bluff. I like it here.
Neat spot thanks

Have updated the coordinates to match those supplied by trutta - thanks for your help. I've tested these coords and they appear to be much more accurate. Happy hunting

Staying within 1.5km of this cache for a couple of days. Went floundering on the beach yesterday, caught enough for a good feed. Neat place. Thanks for putting a cache there.
Back down in Invers visiting relatives.
Lived down here all my life, until 7 years ago.
Decided to check out a few local caches whilst down this way.
My GPS led me to a small gap between the dunes, and pointed approx 2 metres to the south. so, I assumed that the top of the dune would be about right.
Up I climbed, and at first, seeing No flax bushes, I was thinking the owner named the plant incorrectly.
But, a bit of a look around, I saw a lonely flaxbush, some 15 to 20 metres away.
It had to be the spot, and indeed, was.
Still, I enjoyed my walk into the dunes, as it has been many years since I was down here, and especially out to Oreti Beach.
TNLN - Cheers.

Second attempt and success at last! At least the weather was better of this boxing day try. Looked to me someone else had been hunting this cache earlier in the day. Cache in good condition. TNLC. TFTC.
I'm surprised it has taken so long for someone to get around to placing a cache around here, it's an ideal playground for Geocaching. With that said, it toook ages to find, because my estimate of the coordinates differed by over 20 m. In the end it was in an obvious location though. I left an item from my archived White Horse cache. Cheers, Donovan.
Neat beach, we drove the CRV down to the water, cars every were.
I like the sand blowing down the road just above the surface it looked like fog.
Many Thanks Bitsprayer

When Trutta and daughter arrived on the beach it was deserted, probably due to the extremely strong wind. Set out following the GPS which led me to the top of a sandhill, flax bush mentioned in clue was 20.4 metres away from where GPS took me with cords supplied.
Found the cache easy enough, remarked cache on my GPS from 3 different angles which gave me S46'26.557-E168'13.986.

What a great place to have a cache. And what a great guy that created it
Was bloody cold on the beach but was greeted with a wind surfer as I returned to the car. Sat and watched for a while while the sun was setting. Will include photo of windsurfer in the setting sun.

Tried to be the first to find, but the blowing sand at tea time made it hard work. Thought I had found it but turned out to be an old plastic meat tray. Ran out of time so will have to go back to have another go. Daughter got side tracked playing in the sand rather than hunting!. Often thought about putting one out there but never got round to it.
Our first, first to find. Cold wet and windy but we were determined to find this cache, had to use the clues to find it. TN Left smiley face.
Cheers
