Out and about again, down south to Augusta and around the SW. Not so bad temperatures but looking forward to a swim when I’m done.
Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today
Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

Good little adventure planned for the weekend and this was the first on the agenda.
Made it into the camp ground around 300mt walk to GZ.
Some great photo opportunities here on what looks to be an area not visited too often.
I will say if it’s wet avoid going through the puddle here s34 05.528 e115 21.577 and take the chicken track.
In the dry it’s rather deep and rutted and there is zero cell

1121 days between finds here. Don’t quite understand how this cache has 40 something finders in 17 years and hasn’t been found in over 3 years?
It’s an easy track to get through, maybe a bit more challenging in winter and a short 300m stroll had us at the cache.
An awesome location and a quick find of the can.
Thanks for the find. Add FP (hopefully I have one spare)

Having spent 3 days in Augusta, it was time to move on. Nannup was our destination, and of course we had to see how we went at finding a few out-of-the-way caches while we were at it
We approached this one from Possy Rd off the Brockman Hwy, which I am happy to say is ‘new car paint friendly’ . It led us the whole way to the camping spot where we parked up and made the pleasant stroll upstream to GZ. The cache was found easily and we added our name to the log before making our way back to the car the same way we came.
All good with this one … TFTC and the off-road adventure SirSigmoidColon

Mrs Crump opted out of this one after recent hand surgery being a little concerned about the track or lack of. What a good decision that proved to be. Mr Crump headed off scrambling through the bush. The trek was interesting especially once the rain started. Found and signed the log and began the journey back. TFTC
a challenging hike for us along the river bank , took a while to locate GZ due to tree cover and clouds, patience prevailed , a rewarding find in excellent condition thanks for the memorable adventure TFTC TNLN
Quick trip to the Blackwood river this Sunday. A bit of bush bashing and a quick find at GZ. We sat down on the rocks and enjoyed the peaceful location. TFTH
Found before & no logged due to lack of phone signal. Great spot. Love watch water levels here.
I chucked the surf ski in the water at Sues Bridge and paddled down stream until I got to the area. I bush bashed my way to the cache and signed the log. Now for the paddle back upstream. Enjoyable morning for a paddle and a favourite point for bringing me to this area. Left a Pathtag behind.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Picked this one up yesterday while paddling and dragging my canoe upstream from Great North Road to Sues Bridge. For most of the day I was thinking I was making slow progress, no faster than I would be able to go if walking through the bush- that is until I started trying to walk through the bush to this cache after overshooting it a bit in the canoe. Cache is in good condition and even after I found it I couldn't see any obvious trails to it.
Thanks for the cache- rapids were a lot more fun on the way downstream than upstream.

What do they say?...it's all about the journey. Found the camping spot easily enough, but the water was right up so following the river the 350 odd metres to the cache wasn't an option. I headed off through the bush but soon hit a wide gulley (deep water-way), so had to head upstream until I found a suitable fallen tree to slide across on my backside (why is there always a branch in the middle to complicate things?). Having crossed the gulley, I followed the GPSr up, over the hill, through thick bush with vines that tried to both choke and trip me at the same time, then down to the cache which was all in good, dry condition.
The return journey wasn't completely straight forward either, as I had quite a bit of difficulty re-locating my trusty tree! Once back across the gulley, I found the car without a problem.
Thanks for bringing me here Virjohn, I'd only ever seen this spot from the river.

went on a camping trip south with the family and this cache was about 300 odd metres from our planned campsite. the site was full but we trekked anyway, im sure we wandered more than 300m to get to the cache haha. was a very enjoyable find and a few hilarious moments will be remebered along with this cache!

First ever cache found via canoe. Little chance of this one being muggled. TFTC Virjohn, I really enjoyed this one.
We were heading south for our camping trip and checked to see if any caches were in the area. Well, what do you know? A cache in residence a mere 350m from our camp site, how exciting! We arrived to find the camp spot full, but still trekked the distance to the cache, and camped a little further up the river. (Did I say a 'mere 350m' from camp!! It was more like a MEGA 350m of bush bashing.) We had a great trek through the jungle and by the time I caught up the cache was found already. Yay! Thanks for the memories
Great camp spot will be using it!! (if we can get in) hard slog to get to it, found it quickly when there. Good hike out back to car. All in good condition. HINT- mark car position before setting off to make finding it easier on return.
Working as a outdoor education instructor in the area I thought I knew where this might be but turns out I was on the wrong side of the river when I visited by car with my two daughters. Will possibly stop by at this spot when I next come down with a canoeing group.
Been holding off doing this one for ages, working up to it, after reading logs.
Drive in is easy, nice wide, faily smooth road in to camp area, 2WD would be possible to this point, bit of a steep rough track down to rivers edge, 4x4 only for this bit.
Once parked we set off in direction of cache, river is faily high at the moment but has potential to get higher later in the season.
We crossed over the little creek close to the rivers edge, had to give the wife & kids a hand over, then set off along the riverside battling through dense shrubs until we came to a dead end.
Had to track back to the creek to find a route to higher ground, squeezed along the side of a very large, moss covered, old fallen tree and up into higher ground where the bush opened up a bit making it a little easier to navigate. We kept to higher ground until we were level with the cache then headed down towards the river, following the sounds of the rapids until we were within the area of gc. Waited a while for the gps to settle then spotted a likely hidey hole. Charlie (aged 6) came up with the goods after a few hints from me, lol.
I should have recorded my track in with the gps as i got a bit lost working our way to the car.
Nice spot, would be good place to come for a day trip and take canoes out, but being National Park i dont think it is permissable to camp here (unless it is possible to get a permit?) and there is a sign stating so as you come off Sues road onto Blackwood road.
There is evidence that people do camp here and i think it would be unlikely that any authorities would check

Be prepared for a tough scrub bash to get there. The day we went it was 40 Degrees and it was a hard slog to get to GZ. Watch out for wildlife, prone to meeting something here in the warmer months. The following day we got to the northern bank of the river, if you can cross this (this would be dependent on current river conditions)it may provide easier access to GZ. Took seeds and screwdriver, left cards and whistle, SL. TFTC, a great way to see some out of the way spots on the blackwood.

Checked cache and removed some soggy stuff. Some water still coming over the falls.
We took a while to find this as we left the map behind so we went in and out of several dirt roads trying to get access
Eventually made it to the river and a rough walk to GZ
Visited with Jarrah Jack
Many thanks

Had to trapse through a campsite full of year nine girls to get to it but finally found the cache well hidden and definately off the beaten track.
Second try to find this one, down in the area with some scouts, area very overgrown so lots of crashing about. Still a difficult find . Left surfboard waxer and female urinal(unused).Took a set of screwdrivers. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely area again. This time we had the campsite to ourselves.
Sly&Zandra Peter&Lyn had some fun getting to this one. Jumping small creeks, slippery boulders and overgrown bush but we found it.
Just our second cache. We TNLN but Sly & Zed left a pair of reading glasses and took Diabetes TB .
On the way out Sly decided to try his Landrover out on the rutted steep slope from the river. He made it about half way up, going into to hill decent mode, backwards, hit some small trees on the passenger side of the vehicle. Then decided maybe it would be wise to put the side mirrors back out, and continued reversing down the hill to get another run up. He hit a large tree on the drivers side this time. Lucky for him he only broke a small plastic piece just over his bumper bar. After untangling himself from the trees he made a successful assent of the rough rutted track.

Fathers Day, Sunday 7th Sept 08. We thought we were on a roll, when we managed to get across the slippery creek without getting wet or muddy. Unfortunately we did not find it, we are still keen to have another look, as we love the walk into this location. Lots of pig scratchings, thankfully never saw any. River flowing nicely would be a good fast canoe at the moment.
Went hunting with Anonymous Legion, Wow what a awesome spot, we loved the drive in and the walk to the creek blocking our way to the cache, Maybe try again in summer months when it a bit drier & less mud, Many TFTH
Didn't find it, we got down to the river campsite and proceeded to where the GPS was taking us, however a creek blocked our path. With the geo-kid and geo-pet, and lack of appropriate clothing - we couldn't make it. :<
Mind you, that little campsite looks awesome, the views made the hunt worth it.
Cheers for the hunt.

Boy what a bush bash. We attempted this one in fading light, and didn't have much time to enjoy the scenery.
There has been a fire near here, and we had some difficulty exiting the area as we had to detour and/or retrace our route to navigate around some fallen trees that were too large for us to safely clear.

This looks like a great area to camp and drop a line in for some fish or to hunt some marron.
We walked in the cache from the camp site following the edge of the river it was a pretty hard slog.
The walk back though the bush was a bit easier.
Took nothing, Left nothing.

Found after my 2nd attempt during the weekend. I was camped at Possy Rd campsite with fellow members of the Perth 4WD Club. It took a while as there are lots of burnt trees on a steep slope and I eventually found it, quite exposed, about 15m SSE of the GZ as others have commented on. I covered it up a bit and left it in the hollow at the base of the tree. I guess one reason for the varying location may be the heavy tree cover there, which may redce the accuracy of some earlier GPS units. The approx location I found it at is S34 04.961, E115 21.188.
Tried to catch some marron but no luck. In fact another group of about 15 people were also camped there and they only caught 3 in the week they were there. TN LN

Today together with Naud and Barrabup Sanctuary on a cache trip in SW-WA.
Nice spot and close to BP place.
Nice spot and close to BP place.
Found @ 1315. Took Possy Road in - lot of water on the track. Parked under cover out of drizzle courtesy of previous campers who had left taup suspended between trees.
Tricky walk in to GZ due to lots of rain the past few days the rocks and vegetation very slippery. However managed to complete this cache unscathed. Rapids surging due to the heavy rains. Took a while to find cache, which when we spotted it was fairly obvious, but our GPS had it 15 mts south of listed co ords.

Well there was nothing rapid about this one. we also scrambled through the bush and found ourselves 15m from cache @ GZ. Also would not recommend wearing thongs only. Geokid #2 was stuffed after this one. TNLNSL.

Lots of first for this one: this is our first, first to find, the first cache on the first day of the year. I have a feeling we may have taken the more difficult track as we followed the river through thick bush then had to cross the river to search furiously for the cache that was over 10 mtrs away from our GZ. Can't believe we found it but we had lots of fun and was rewarded with a great swim in the nearby swimming hole. TNLN. Thanks for a good fun cache and a beautiful place.
