Down from Toowoomba with Kestal attacking a list of caches that tick some stats boxes...older caches being one of them. I have not visited this area before. Relatively straightforward find but unfortunately the log is very mushy and we didn't have anything to replace it with. I did have a piece of paper that we added our names to and which has been wrapped on the outside of the logbook's bag (simply as a means of keeping it in the container and somewhat protected). TFTC DAD78.
After a short walk into this one we began our search, hoping it wasn't going to be over there. It wasn't and after Eskies5 searched in one spot and stated that she couldn't see due to the lack of glasses I came and had a quick look and put my hands straight on the hide. Eskies5 then pried the log and its zippy out of the container for us to sign our names. A fresh piece of paper was needed for this one and with our names signed we returned to where we found it and we were on our way. TFTC DAD78
Found! Was able to get log out however it’s in definite need of maintenance and repair. Unable to sign log as it is super waterlogged in ziplock bag! TFTC!
We nearly gave up but we finally found it. One tip I have is to wear some aeroguard as there is a looots if mozzies. But it’s a beautiful hidden place, thanks for helping us to discover it. We managed to get the log out but unfortunately it seems to have finally succumbed to the weather and we weren’t game to take it out of the bag lol. We did leave a little note and a little prezzy for the next finders though
Last find for our day of finding oldies.. mozzies were bad, but not as bad as further south
Was thinking the find would take a while but we got lucky with a quick find.. that’s where our luck stopped though because we couldn’t get the log out. Pic taken! TFTC

Headed south to the Redlands to track down a few older caches, it seems this area is blessed with quite a few we have yet to visit.
This one was an easy enough find, but we couldn't remove the log for love nor money, it was jammed in too tight and any more force was going to break something. Took a pic instead. Great hide, it withstood the recent flooding
---
*BILL's BILLABONG* signed at 09:12 and cache returned as found. Thanks for bringing us here **DAD78**. This log is trackable, mention where you saw it.

Took awhile to find just need to think outside the box it’s in the most obvious spot. tFTC
A tricky find GPS was off by a couple of metres but in the end found it. The lid is missing off container.

Didn’t find unfortunately, I was probably looking to far into it. GPS was going insane.
Out caching with stortigirls. I had been here some time ago and failed to find the cache on that occasion. Today, there were no problems and we were soon adding our names to the log. TFTC
Out caching in the area today this one was found after a bit of a hunt, right we had already looked. Tftc DAD78
Out for a little leg stretch this afternoon, thought I'd target some of the older caches in the Redlands area. Next stop was here, with a quick jaunt down to the 'bong, pushing the cloud of mozzies around before me so I could see the path (wow - did they like having a warm-blooded human handy). Glad it was a quick find so I could beat a retreat - but not before a (quick) look at the billabong - a lovely piece of suburban bush.
Thanks DAD78 for entertaining me at this location.

Found it. The cache container has no lid so placed it upside down in it's hide.

It's a good feeling to be able to change this from blue to yellow. We looked for this one earlier in the year with no luck.
We even went further afield and searched the block wall!
Today was a different story and I basically went straight to it. All in good condition.
Signed log and returned cache to where found.
Thanks for the cache DAD78

I initially drove into the estate to try to get to this cache. But, after finding the cache under the bridge and having another look at the map, I decided to drive back out to the main road and walked in from there. I wasn't expecting such a beautiful area for this cache. Except, that is, for the elusive and rarely seen in the wild, car tyre, lurking just below the surface of the water. It is also a bit of a shame that developers felt it necessary to build all these houses so close to a delicate wetland ecosystem.
After admiring the area, I wandered over to GZ and made a reasonably quick find. I signed the log and was just packing it back into the container when a couple of muggles came walking along the boardwalk. I quickly stuffed the container into my pocket and walked along the boardwalk to admire the view again and give the muggles time to make themselves scarce. Then I quickly returned the container to it's hide and returned to my car.

Sorry to say we had no luck here this morning. GPS kept coming back to same place, but we just could not locate cache.
We'll leave it for another day.

Last day in Brisbane and doing a few caches on the way to the airport. Lovely little park. The walkways and ponds are great. Cache found after we widened our search. Cache lid missing but otherwise fine. TFTC
We were not expecting this at GZ - wow! Thanks for bringing us here, DAD78! Spotted lizards and turtles and birds, oh my! However, not the cache, as we began to get terrorised by mosquitoes and could not stand it any longer! Will be happy to return another day - with bug repellent!
Just down a bit
From other cache
This little one
Said it was hid.
Looked around
It's getting dark
There it's found
In lovely park.

We parked as close as we possibly could to GZ and walked over . We wandered over to GZ and started searching the area. This took a lot longer than it should had because after 20 minutes we made the find . Thanks for the cache DAD78 . TFTC!!!
Wondered why you bought us to a delightful spot then wanted us there so I checked elsewhere first and bingo we had a container. The cache could do with some TLC from the owner. TFTC
Mrs RoddyC is caching with DiamonJS, Rusty85, and Snickersallan, with some special geocaches in mind to do this afternoon.
A quick find while waiting for Rusty85 to finish training.
Log signed & replaced again. Found at 2.20pm on 1st February 2017. TFTC

Out with Geopartner to find some smilies today.
Wandered into GZ and at first glance there was nothing there.
Then I spotted something and it was the cache.
Signed the log
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks DAD78 All good with this cache (no lid)

Sneaky!!!!!!!!
After hubby cleaned his glasses we found it.
Two toddlers also signed the log book.
Wrapper for log book might need to be replaced...

We found ourselves in the area today with a bit of time to spare so decided to look for a cache or two while we could. We had no difficulty locating the cache and with our name added to the logbook, we continued on our way.
Thank you DAD78 for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy.

This is our last day in Brisbane, we are looking to find some puzzles that we worked out before & a few others not far from the caravan park where we are staying.
This took us on a nice tiki tour of the area.
The GPS took awhile to settle once it did the cache was found. So many places this could have been

Out with Misssusan79, Bennyboppers and Lisylou. A bridge too far for this one, actually sat on it but but didn't see it until the team located it. Easy in the end.
While in the area visiting my cousin, decided to pick up a few caches on my way home. This one had me going in the wrong direction but after a quick detour, I found a spot to park and walked in to GZ.
GPS had me walking all around the area and I had to narrow my search to likely hides and after 10 mins I finally found the cache. Lid is missing but contents dry. Signed logbook and returned it where I found it for the next finder. Thanks for bringing me to this lovely place.

Coordinates sent us a bit further than we should have. Eaten alive by mozzies but eventually found it.
Easy find, top missing off cache, placed back upside down to stop water getting in. Log in good condition though.

Geo Wife, Geo Youngest (Because it was Gold Coast Show Day) & I were visiting a friend up this way so we just had to include a few caches!!!!
We were so close to this one that we thought we would try it even though there were 2 DNF's.
We took the board walk into the area and laughed at the poor ducks as they tried to swim through the algae.
At GZ we searched for a little while on the side the GPS was leading us then I switched tacks and within a minute the sound you love to hear, the metallic tap!!!!
Thanks DAD78 TFTC SL

These novices can't find the small ones. We will try again sometime. But give us another clue about these small treasures pls!
I popped in here along the secluded path from the street, and although the last few logs were very helpful, I still got nice and muddy and nearly dislocated my shoulder, only to find none of that was necessary at all! Cache is still as reported but log is in good nick. I saw a massive water dragon and I'm sure there are more little critters around. I was just happy not to meet them face to face while I was getting down and dirty!
:0) Found it! :0) Yippee! :0)
Enjoying a visit to our family & some geo-caching 'down under'.
This proved a little tricky, as the co-ords were a few metres out for us, which meant we were looking on the wrong side of the boardwalk. Once we'd exhausted possible hides on the 'wrong" side a move to the other side led to a very quick find!
Loving our QLD caching, even though hot & sticky today :0)

TFTC. Stumped the geokids as GPS was jumping around. Found with flappyfish. #26

This one was out but not relieving anything it was the first place I was going to look. No lid but log still dry tftc
Topped up the billabong, its looking lovely. Took far too long to locate this smilie. GPSr had its own idea where it logically should be. Argument ensued and human instincts were proven to be correct. Cache, although missing lid is still OK and log dry...TFTC
1/8/14 - nice quick find. Never knew this place existed. Thanks for bringing me here. Billabong needs a top up but a lovely spot none-the-less. TFTC.
Another great find, I would probably never go there if I wasn't geocaching. Great hobby.
Initially looked in the wrong place.. gps was going a bit silly. After some more hunting had the cache in hand. Tftc
An early morning caching outing meant that no one was around at GZ this morning. A short search in a couple of different places and I soon spotted what I was looking for. Log signed and replaced safe and sound. Tftc.
This was almost a DNF for me. I parked up on the main road then wandered down the path between the house and soon found myself looking out over the billabong. Wow, it's covered in weed and dead still. Looks like you could just keep walking over to the far corner. Such an amazing little area, the locals are lucky to have such a great little spot. Although they probably don't appreciate the mozzies.
After a few photos and a bit of a look round I headed back for GZ. Mmm, I looked around for a bit in the obvious places and then a muggle and her dog came along. Waited for them to pass then back to it, spotted another structure close by so that ended up getting a good look over to no avail. Then another muggle and dog turned up, thought it about time I left. On the way back to the car I had a thought so I quickly jogged back, checked a few more spots then finally. Obvious really, just got side tracked I guess. Signed log and carefully put back as the lid has completely come away.
Thanks for the cache and for the great location DAD78
