This cache hasn't been found in more than a year and I'm no longer able to maintain it. Think it is best to archive it.
Hi all. I am not an active geocacher (is that a word?) however have found this cache. It was open sitting on a park bench on Cape Hill. The contents was wet. I have taken this home to dry out. If someone wants to contact me and let me know where to place this I can return it to its correct location. I want to make sure it is in the correct place for the future. Cheers, Matt.
Was within 1 meter to 2nd waypoint according to GPS. This might be missing. 2nd attempt over 3 months.
Well, this was my third attempt on this one. Still no luck with WP1, so we searched the most likely spot from the clues on the cache page and hey presto, there it was! Not found in the traditional manner of a multi, but found nonetheless. Tftc.
Sorry that we didn't complete this as it was intended. We turned this multi into a traditional to claim our smiley.
Jazzmo told me about this cache in the comfort of her lounge room the other day. She had been having trouble getting started on this multi as her previous efforts to find WP1 had turned up nothing. We knew that we would need to head to Pukekohe in the coming days so I started investigating the cache page and previous logs. I had a fair idea that we could find this cache.
Today, after finding and signing the cache we went to WP1 to see whether we would have had any luck starting where we were supposed to. Nope. Nothing found there.
The cache didn't seem to have much cover and there was nothing around to use for concealment, so we had no choice but to replace it as we found it.

Was in the area with a little time to spare between appointments, the sun was out, so what else to do but go caching... Mrs stik-a-crane used to run around this area with friends a wee while ago... It was just as she had described to me... Parked where the cache page advised and made my way to WP1, couldn't really see anything to help further my quest so took a look at the hints... Looked at the surroundings and devised a plan.... Interesting this is a multi... The way I solved it I would class it a puzzle cache.

Finally found wp1 only with a clue from the CO and a previous finder. We would never have found wp1 without this hint. I'm just too short and believe the description on the cache page is a bit of a red herring for those of us whose mind goes "oh that's what I'm looking for. So off we trot to the found the mext wp with coordinates now in hand - you can imagine the frustration when we were unable to locate this one. Again I obviously do not think like the CO so unable to get my head around what I am looking for. Had to let one of the neighbours know what we were upto as the kids level of frustration led to quite a bit of noise as well. We will be back, to try again but may need admission to a psychiatric institution in the mean time.
I am certainly missing something vital here. I have searched and searched on many different visits as I live locally. Was hoping to find some space for some more caches in the area and is handly to have the local finds completed. Have this cache on my watch so was excited to see CO had beeb and checked, so thought today was my day but alas no. Still no luck. Will keep on trying just as I have many times before.
Was in the area on Anzac Day and checked that all is well. A couple of DNFs recently but all is in place. It should be much easier if you read and use the slightly cryptic clues.
Found WP1 after some searching and avoiding muggles. WP2 was awol but with some good old cache foraging skills we found the final without coordinates
visited a few weeks ago.
WP 1 is not there.
you can see the remains of the valcro that was there.

Out and about this afternoon for a spot of caching in the rain. I parked up down the bottom and enjoyed the climb up. I had noted all the DNFs mostly referring to WP1 so decided that I would just enjoy a stroll in the rain have a nit of a poke around. Well, you know what they say; better lucky than good! Spotted the final on the second pass as it was a little exposed. On opening I was happy to find that it was indeed the final with a new replacement log which I was the first to sign. Returned and applied some natural camo. Time for home. Cheers for the cache placement!
We live close by to this one so we thought it would be a great one to try out for our first time. We searched for a good 40 minutes before we gave up. My almost 4 year old treasure hunter was devastated.
Visited today and replaced WP1. Checked and everything is working and ready to go.
Up at wp1 now, have been around twice and poked a stick in all spidery holes but came up with nothing.
Have taken a 2nd look, but couldn't find wp1 (again), to be honest as the last was over 1 year ago haven't done a realllyyyy long search. Would be great if the cacheowner can confirm that wp1 is still there
Took my lunch up for a Picnic. Took awhile to find Wpnt 1 - even wondered if it had been muggled as there was evidence of streamers having been put up. Don't know whether it was lunacy or perserveerance that made me keep looking - found on the 3rd time around. Glad I had poked with a stick not my finger, as what I was poking sprouted legs and moved rather quick.
Wpnt 2 - thankfully no one was home next door, could have been extreemly difficult if they were.
Final - The grass at GZ has been spray and is now dead, ther has also been a small slip, I had just decided cache was gone when something caught my eye in amongt the dirt and rubbish. Cache was buried, just and inch showing. Dug out and signed. replaced in same spot but not quite a buried - muggles should still ignore it though, until the area is cleaned up. Suggest a knew hiding spot is found.
Enjoyed the walk even in the heat (glad it wasn't middle of summer). TFTC

Cache still in location, six years after original posting! Great, easy first find for us.
Great fun multi. The first one was damaged (difficult to say how so without giving away where it is) but I fixed it up and replaced it. WP2 was tricky as the family in the nearby house were in and out of their garden but eventually left me to it long enough to grab and photograph the final cache location. A few mins of scrabbling and I had it. What a fun way to spend an afternoon. Lovely views too.
This was a nemesis cache of ours as we had attempted it a few times without any success. Teamed up with Troutfly and the WP's fell like skittles and the final was soon in hand. Very happy to finish this cache off and nice to find one of the older ones in Auckland as well. Deserves a favourite from us. Picked up TB
I had to met up with Team Welsh to crack this one. Never been able to find WP2 before, despite a number of tries for it over the years. Always some-one looking suspiciously at me from the nearby houses. No worries today and almost an anticlimax. Found quickly and easily. Thanks.
Isn't it amazing that you can drive the length of the country without one DNF then come to Puke & log 3 in one day !
Got to WP1 on a very blustery day but were completely foiled so that was the end of the line for us. Nice view though!

We had failed to find this cache in early June despite a very intensive search. Thought we would give it another go today after reading that the owner has put in a replacement final. So we were a bit surprised to quickly locate what is obviously the original cache with a logbook dating back to the first picnic. Pleased to be able to tick off this nicely themed multi. Thanks.

Nice day after an extended wet period so decided to check out the cache. WP1 and WP2 are both OK. Could not locate final. So, have cobbled together a replacement final. Cache all ready to go but no swap items at this stage.

Well, beautiful view at WP1! Never been up here before. Found WP2 easily but WP3 took awhile. Eventually, had the cache in hand! We were just about to give up when i found it! TNLNSL - TFTC!
Found WP1 & WP2 but gave up on final cache when it got too dark. Will have to go back for another search.
What a lovely evening to spend up on the hill. Left a frog eraser and took a bracelet. If your heading out to do this cache pop a new bag in for notebook as existing is very worn. (-:
Out on a super roasting day with Bjarni1:) Second time back here to look for WP1 and we were determined to find it! A long search later and nothing to show for it so we called it a day. Halfway down we had an idea and within a few minutes the final was in hand! Covered it up a bit more though, it was very visible. TFTC
Beautiful views from the top of the walk. Loved the places this multi takes you to.
Had no problems locating any of the waypoints or final. TN but left a 'strawberry' signature eraser. TFTC.

Nicely done multi-cache - especially liked WP1, nearly didn't find it. Soon had the final cache. SL TFTC
Unlike my first visit I found the cache very quickly as it was rather exposed and with a hint from the owner (thanks). This is a great multi that is good for getting the heart going a bit quicker with the exercise!
I hoped this cache will be my first multi cache. But I strugled on the first one already
Hope to come back again. Doggies love the area and that's the most important for us

Quite a haul up and down the hill, finding the right trail, but got there in the end!!
The two waypoints were found easily enough (I liked how WP2 was hidden) but the cache itself eluded me despite hunting high and low for it. I'll have to return another day to see if I can spot it.
We found the 1st and 2nd waypoints, but couldn't find the final cache... douh!! Searched high and low, but ran out of time, so moved on.. but will return some day for round 2! Interesting location... cool rocks!
The container at Waypoint 2 has gone missing at least three times. I have now changed the location slightly. This should make it easier and less likely to be muggled. Everything is in place and ready to go.
well flip - DNF. paced around the area but all i could find was empty 1 litre container in approx the correct position but will have to revisit for another go. Dogs enjoyed the climb.
This was my first geocache find, found on my second attempt. Can't believe I couldn't find WP1 the first time. Took Hamburgler toy, left car fuse. Logbook felt a bit damp. Perhaps next person to visit could take some silica granules to keep things dry?
4.30pm. Revisited this cache as part of an explanation of geocaching to a couple of mates. Both WP1 & 2 are in place and the cache itself was safe and sound at GZ exactly where I expected it to be. Thus it is surprising that there have been the number of DNF's that there have over the past three months. Probably it is the degree of difficulty for locating WP1 that is causing the problems - it needs a very careful look and/or feel (with help from the hint) to find it.
Picked up the geocoin in case it is some time before it was moved on!
TFTC - and the fun.

We had high hopes for this one since the owner had confirmed wp1 just days prior but no luck. We headed back to the car hoping we would stumble upon wp2 or the final using the hints but no luck there either. Guess we needed more coffee this morning.
Found WP1. all OK.
DNF waypoint 2. There was somene looking out of the window at me so did not stay long.

Located 1st way point after muggles moved off, quickly, but couldn't get pass way point 2. Neighbour muggle watching our moves.
Came to Pukekohe and did some other geocaches tried this one but couldn't find waypoint 1. I wasn't sure if it was because it has been muggled or because I have just aquired a new gps and haven't trained it well enough yetGood walk though and a choice view.
3.45pm. Made up for the failure last October when last I came to Pukekohe. Very cunning WP1. Most enjoyable multi. Many thanks.

Found waypoint 1 and waypoint 2 so alls well there. However still didnt find the final. We will return another day. Just a caution. Take a bottle of water with you as this is a hot job at present.
3.20pm. Couldn't get passed first base with this one despite searching high and low with non-geocacher Neville. Don't think he was too impressed. Nice view of ever growing Pukekohe however.

Thanks very much for getting the cache back up & running again. Easy enough find. No sign of local muggles this afternoon.
Thanks for pointing out my mistake. Been sidelined with the flu for a few days but all sorted now.
Someone's made a booboo!
Found stage 2 yesterday, and went to change the waypoint for this cache.... only to find it didn't need changing!?!?! The coordinates in waypoint 2 are the ones *for* WP2!

Found stage 1 easily enough. Was looking for stage 2 when I noticed someone in a nearby house watching me... I left the area. Be careful of the local muggle man in a nearby window.
Here today doing a maintenance visit. The 2nd waypoint is missing and the cache container needs replacing. Back soon.

Wha a nice spot and well named cache, enjoyed the hill climbs, good exercise after being in the car for so long! Most enjoyable cache - 1st waypoint had us thinking but got there in the end.

Found this entertaining and a good walk. Nice place that I hadnt visited in a while. Everything was where it should be, thanks
Looked for this with Cachehunter007. Had a good GPS fix and I'm sure we understood the clue for the first waypoint. But we still couldn't find the microcache so maybe it's gone?
Woohoo! Afer two attempts over a year, we finally got this one. Dispite the fact that Mrs eightpaces let the wind steal the cache printout on the walk up, we still managed to stumble across each of the WP's without clues or instructions. Talk about a good walk! No need for the treadmill tonight!!!
Thanks for a greaT energetic cache! TNLN SL

#56 Second attempt at this one. First time wasn't thinkinh clearly enough to find first clue. Found the hills a challenge to climb in the heat. Easy find once first clue found and hills were conquered. TFTC
Quite a hill at the end of a busy day, and up twice really got the legs aching. Found the ways points easily. TN left hacky sack ball
Followed all the clues/waypoints and found the final cache without any difficulty. Hot day but worth the effort. Well done. TNLN TFTC.
Well well,
We overshot the suggested parking co-ords.
Drove to GZ nearby the 1st WP and after several minutes looking after eating my lunch we decided to use our Geocaching radar and go straight to the final !!!
Easy find in fact without any wp's.

There was a good bit of exercise involved with this cache (which was needed!)
No problems with finding any of the waypoints. Wpt 1 was quite exposed so we replaced it in a less obvious position. The coordinates were spot on for the final, we walked straight up to it.
Nice cache. Thanks for the effort involved.

Seems like the last bunch had a good meeting on site. No such luck for me today. I trudged up the hill in ferocious heat, and found a father with his young daughter right at the GZ lookout. So the only thing to do was to deftly explain the "geocaching" thing, while I was busy hunting for the hidden WP1 - actually, they joined in for a minute or two, then left - just as I laid hands on the prize. So, off to find WP2 - a one minute search once at the right spot. Oh no!!, back up the hill, is it!! The final was soon located, and the log signed as soon as I could wipe the sweat from my eyes!! No swaps, thanks and sweaty cheers from Grandalf(1021)
Visiting Dad and back in my home town after 27 years. Hardly recognised the place. Nice cache TFTH.
On the hunt with XenaCommander riding pillion on Splat the city cache machine.... yahooooooo XC is a fun but safe pilot.
We trudged up the scenic route and enjoyed the hard work that has been put into planting. We spied a couple of dodgy looking characters at the rockface....gotta be cachers anything else was unthinkable, sure enough after being hailed by XCs best ship to shore holler, the response was Tufty and protege Coldstream. Wpt1 was a sneaky hide and the views magnificent. As we lurched down toward Wpt2 we stopped to swap lies with our fellow hunters.... nice to meet others on the same mission. Wpt2 fell quickly into TKs paws, the final was XCs honour.
TFTC and thanks for the fun

Coldstream and I finally came back to do this one after originally finding WP2 had gone walkabouts. Everything is in place but the final took a little while to locate. While we were writing up the log we were hailed by two suspicious looking people dressed in black but one did have a fluro jacket on though. We replaced the cache and waited for XenaCommander and Technokitten to come back. It's great being able to meet up with cachers at the coalface (though in this case, it was the rock face), so to speak. Once TK was unleashed with the GPS no-one could keep up with her.

Riding Splat to hunt some south Auckland caches with TechnoKitten riding shotgun. We parked at the recommended waypoint and walked up the path towards summit. On our way up we noticed a couple of "furtive" looking characters off the track near the cliff face.... Hmmm they are either taking a l..k or are cachers.. XC hollers Oi!!! Who goes there?? Sure enough "Tufty" and "Coldstream" came the replies..!!! Excellent.
We went on up to find Wpt1 easily enough. Loaded coords and headed down hill on direct route. Detoured and had a chat to fellow cachers.. We walked down together swapping stories.. XC mistakenly gave TK the GPSr and she was off... mumble..
Got to Wpt2 and swapped a couple more stories whilst TK was sniffing micro out. Found.. Said goodbye to fellow cachers.. Its always great to run into people we read about in logs.
We locked in coords for final and set off back up the hill. XC found final reasonably quickly. TK signed log and I swapped Geocoins. In Mt Dodgemore GC Out No BS GC
A nice Multi.

Co-ords good and no problem finding all three though might of been a bit lucky finding the final so quickly. No muggles about which helped.

As we drove into Puke, the heavans opened, but it seemed to ease off as we approached our starting point for this cache.
Found both micros quickly, but struggled on the final. Very close to giving up on our location and trying higher up when the cache popped into view.
Enjoyed our walk in the drizzle, despite the howling gale on top of the hill, but got drenched legs and shoes from the wet long grass around the final.

Waited for sight-seeing elderly couple to leave WP1 before retrieving the clue. Off to WP2, where a council worker was weed spraying nearby, but she was too busy to notice me, then back up the hill for an easy find. Co-ords were bang on, thanks.
