Would be a real pity to see this one disappear off the map.
Hopefully it is disabled due to the fires, Covid etc.
Maybe someone in the Nowa Nowa area could adopt it.

### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

Hi there Crisp image,
This cache has been flagged by Geocaching HQ as a cache that **MAY** need some attention.
You may recall having received an automated email from Geocaching HQ which explained what you needed to do.
Unfortunately, nothing seems to have happened, so I am having to take the next step and temporarily disable the cache - see here: [**Geocache Health Score.**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713)
**Can you please respond to this situation (or indicated your intention) within 14 days,** so others know exactly what is happening with this cache?
You have lots of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:
- Check on the cache, repair and/or replace the cache or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.
- If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some unusual reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log (within 14 days). Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. For ongoing issues (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 28 days so as to keep everyone up to speed.
- If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when I next look at the cache page, it is likely that I will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) it on the basis that it has been abandoned.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

Spent a while searching for this one without luck.
Called a previous finder and confirmed the spot I had searched is where they found it.
Looks like it's gone.

A favourite place to visit when in Lakes and now it has a cache. Thanks to Crisp image for the placement and fun.
We cycled the Discovery trail today and the East Gippsland Rail Trail to the trestle bridge. Quick find before lunch, awesome bridge. TFTC
On a Rail Trail trip through Victoria. Cycled out from Nowa Nowa to the bridge on an afternoon cycle. Man hand the bikes over a fallen tree and on to the bridge. Found the cache and Spent time at the bridge. A great spot. Thanks for the cache.
Thanks die the Cache! Both logbooks are full, so that I had to find a spot somewhere in the middle. Pls put a new one in!

Our first find for the new year. We had to be quick as there were other families around. Beautiful spot, kids loved it. Thanks!
Found by Aussie Train Driver 23/11/2018, find number 1369.
I have previously cycled the fantastic Bairnsdale to Orbost railtrail but wasn't participating in caching at the time so this and many other caches along the way remained unfound. Whilst my wife and I were in the area today we detoured past the bridge as she hadn't been here before. I had forgotten how impressive the structure is and we both admired the bridge before walking to the cache. We made a quick find, the cache is in good condition.
This would have been a magnificent railway to drive trains on but unfortunately was well before my time. TFTC.

After going up into the mountain (really, there are caves at Buchan) this former rail viaduct was the next calling place on our journey. I made the right call on the best way to approach getting this cache. As I returned to the car and Mrs Vicarvernon another car arrived to see the viaduct with a family that had been on the same cave tour as us. Thanks for the cache.
This was the 3rd Trestle Bridge visited by Aussie M & M while on their mini premega Gippsland holiday. Mark made the find here as Mary acted like a tourist and took photographs.
A lovely spot, and possibly a trestle that Mary rode across as a child over 40 years ago while on a Steam train ride from Bairnsdale.

After extracting the relevant information for a certain creature laired up somewhere in NSW we couldn't resist seeking out what is now a venerable, old cache. It was only last week that I had the pleasure of finding a couple of the other caches put out by the same CO and indeed meeting him.
As stated by nirgalagrin, we wisely resisted the urge to follow the needle and sussed out an alternate and frankly safer path to the cache. Indeed if we had taken the direct route we probably would've ended up at the wrong bit of the structure to begin with. After arrival at GZ and with only my phone torch I wisely left it to my caching partner to negotiate the tricky terrain. A wise move in the dark, I think.
Thanks for drawing attention to this old bridge. The effort taken in constructing the structure must've been immense and dangerous. We owe a debt of gratitude to these men and thankfully their efforts in this spot have been appropriately memorialised.
A road trip east instead of west! nirgalagrin and I had been planning a trip out over to Mt. Gambier but given the forecast of rain, rain and more rain all through the weekend we scrambled to replan the trip aiming for the other side of the state. As it happened we went a little further than just the border and explored the NSW south-eastern coast. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches found along the way.

Chasing an elusive creature through Lakes Entrance had us within striking distance of this one, so we ventured out to see this impressive example of bush engineering. We take it for granted that construction is easy, with power tools and heavy machinery so readily available.
Resisting the urge to follow the compass needle directly, we wisely took the more circuitous walk to the barrier, from where it was a simple, if tricky by torchlight, matter of getting to the right level, where the cache was waiting in plain view.
Crisp image, thanks for highlighting the trestle bridge... I really must drag the tent out of storage and load up the mountain bike to further explore the area.
---
Road trip!
leafotwind and I had meticulously planned a trip in the opposite direction to fill a few gaps on a variety of challenges, but with the weather forecast to be reminiscent of an Activities Week tour of all the wet holes in the southwest of the state when I was in high school, a mad scramble ensued to come up with a scheme to complement those goals towards the eastern border instead.

I couldn't resist all the signs directing me to suspension bridges, swing bridges, trestle bridges on this trip. This was a fine scenic example.
There was a guy right up the top taking pictures but by taking pictures at the correct angle I managed to find and sign the cache without (I think) him being any wiser. Thanks for the cache.

With an extra day off and chores completed by lunchtime I headed off towards Lakes Entrance to grab a couple of caches. I remembered walking across this bridge in my earlier years - I certainly would not want to do it now.

What a great cache! Lots of treasures here. Some very interesting ones. Tftc (my 23rd!)
We always love it here, as been visiting this particular spot for years. We met a local on the way in that wasn't too friendly and went and climbed a tree. (see photo)
The cache here was out in the open, maybe found by a muggle, but signed and returned to a safe spot.
Thanks Crisp Image for the placement here.

Amazing!!! Without my geohobby i would not see these fabulous places! What a spectacular feat of engineering. I wish i could see a train crossing this fabulous structure. Easy find, quick sign,,thanks
Nowa that was worth stopping at! Was an awesome bridge. We loved the walk and made the find. Many thanks for the cache and highlighting this awesome location.
micaparamedic took me to this site because he knows my love of anything related to trains. We wandered around, took photos, and found the cache. It's a gorgeous piece of RR history.
It's another day in what will be an almost three month journey for me and micaparamedic with new things to see along the way. Today we started by finding an earthcache right outside our motel, after which we took time to go to the old train trestle and Point Dawson on the Silt Jetty. We saw lots of kangaroos, black swans, a few pelicans and a few strange caterpillar type creatures.
We started our travels when micaparamedic arrived at my place in late July, visiting the Yukon and Northwest Territories in Canada, attending the Mega APE event in Washington, and camping in Oregon to be in the direct path of a total solar eclipse. There were other shorter trips to find special caches and see geologically related spots of interest before we headed to Australia.
Now he is showing me his country, and it's incredible. My bucket list had included walking around Uluru, and now I can cross that off. I also wanted to see some Australian outback, and now that is also crossed off. There are a few more things planned on this journey that will be crossed off as well, one of them this evening. Dreams are coming true on what will be just under 3 months of traveling together.
Thanks for a cache in a special location.

So excited to be here!! Hubby and our daughter unloaded the bikes while geoson and I took the walk under this gorgeous bridge to the cache. We had a perfect day too. Thanks for bringing us here.
We then went for a bike ride to the weir and another cache. However, 400m from that cache my chain totaly broke.

Awesome train bridge - this one was approached from the wrong side, but after a few scratches all was well.
A wonderful view from up top.
A wonderful view from up top.
The Quest for the Golden Dragon Easter tour from Sydney continues onto Day 4. We can see why there are no more trains but it's still a rather fabulous piece of workmanship. Amazed at the size of those giant log supports holding the bridge up. The container is where you might expect this type to be. Thanks to whomever put it there. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
So you were right I had to climb the bridge to get it. Way too high. I've placed it back in where I think original spot is. Full of goodies.
Found it but can't sign it because I spotted the cache about 5-6 m high up where it is NOT surposed to be.
Looks like muggles put it up there, I'll try tomorrow to get it down if I can and sign & replace at original hide

Nope no luck for me either. This could do with a check as it seems to be a bit of a hit and miss affair in recent times. It would have been nice of the last cachers to leave coords of where they found it, as it seems it is no longer where the hint suggests. I thoroughly searched that area and came up empty handed. The bridge on the other hand is a magestic structure and I loved this whole area, including the giant goanna that was in arms reach of my car.
Found by chance don't think it was where it is suppose to be but not knowing we left it there TFTC
After half an hour of searching with two sets of eyes still no luck. Great trestle though.
What a great location! We parked on the east side of the bridge and walked alongside it to get to the other side with the cache. Before ascending the hill up to the rail trail the youngest member of our party exclaimed that she could see the cache. Being that we were about 60 feet lower than GZ we dismissed her claim until she pointed it out next to the picnic table atop a fence post in the wide open! After inspecting the container we confirmed that it was indeed the cache. We signed the log and replaced it back at the correct coordinates 100 feet away at the top of the slope. No idea how it came to be where it was. Gets a fav for a great location and an unexpected twist. Greetings from Washington, DC, USA!
Tftc great place found it on a school trip. Tried to find it a while ago but had no luck but got it now
What a hidden gem! Loved the bridge and all of the information about it. Thanks for the hide!
Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which is to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota (where we are heading to at present), Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. After a visit to Sydney we will travel on to the Gold Coast, then after spending a few days in the nearby mountainous birding hotspots, followed by an overnight trip to Fraser Island, we will fly from Brisbane to Cairns, visiting yet more good birding sites. We will then drive up to Cape Tribulation before heading back south again to Port Douglas and a day out on the Great Barrier Reef. We then return to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs, where we will hire a 4x4 camper and set off for a week on the circuit to and from Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock. We then fly to Darwin from where we will spend the last two weeks of our holiday making our way to Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!

After a nice paddle in the morning it was time to relax (in the car) a bit.

A quick and easy drive by while we were in the area.we didn't have our geocaching hats on that time. It was interesting to see that the bridge was still in use up to 1988. The cache itself was a quick and easy find, and as a bonus, there was a pathtag in the cache for Geoturtle's collection. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
A great structure celebrating its 100 years. Very impressive. Geokid got this one with a little nudge. Tftc
