Out and about with Frazelle and Ash Kate for a great weekend of caching around the area.No luck here today. Searched the area thoroughly. Found the perfect hidey-hole even with a rock in it. I love how nature does that. I'll place this cache on my watchlist to see if others find it.It may be time for a cache check. Despite this DNF, I'm really enjoying my day.
Searched for some time today, found a likely spot or two but sadly no cache. Tftc
Not luck for us today and had a few people looking. Found location from spoilers photos but nothing there
Out on a couple of days away with Black Bunny and stopped in at Hill End to see the sites.
Some interesting history and scenery here.
Thanks for the cache

Out with just a cacher on a few days away and we decided to head out to Hill End to see what was left of the area.
Some nice scenery and history.

In the area I noticed this hide needed some attention,I parked within the camp ground and made my way over the fence to GZ,All I really had was an electrolite/beroca type container that I emptied out covered it in grey tape and left a signed log inside,I hope everyone enjoys berry flavour lol

Way back in 2012 we rescued this cache from being archived as the owner doesn't log on anymore.
https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=71afd9be-427c-4618-9556-0b98dd40bd7f
Would be great if the next cacher by could sort a new container and log?

We where staying at the pub, and on my early morning walk did this very wet cache. Thanks musso madness
After saving this cache from being archived back in January 2012, it would be great if someone else can now earn themselves some caching karma and save it again.
A quick find after arriving at the camp grounds. Unfortunately log book is wet but managed to scribe an entry. TFTC

It is a long drive from Gulgong to get to this place. And it will be a long way back as well. How do people do groceries around here?
But I wanted to complete the Adventure Lab and pick up some of the local traditional caches while I was here.
Hill End is a beautiful little town, very leafy and a few historic houses.
This cache was found on the way to the final spot for the Adventure Lab. The cache was found after some effort. I then paid a visit to the nearby Hill End Hilton.

After having set up camp at Hill End Village camping, we went for a short walk to this cache. Climbed a fence with some MC bikers looking what we were doing, but they did not seem to be concerned. Found the cache after some searching, unfortunately completely soaked.
Found at 10:25:00 AM
Lots of people at the camp ground and I was glad for the facilities which I used before hopping the fence to find the cache.

Another great day on our one-year tripp around Australia. We love to travel in this country and we love to look for geocaches. This geocache has again shown us a place that we might not have visited without geocache.
Thank you for the geocache !
Greetings from Switzerland.

While the rest were orienteering I decided to pick up a couple of caches in the area. Pretty tricky to navigate the terrain when it's wet. Thanks for bringing us here.
Went looking when we had a break when setting out an orienteering event. Took an international orienteering on his first go. He was the successful one in finding the cache. Now for two days of running.

Found the cache scattered in all directions. Hopefully found most of it including the log. We suggest the CO check it out as we may not have returned it to the correct location although the coordinates check out.
I found this one in 2018 when holidaying in Hill End, I didn’t have phone service to log it and forgot about it ???????
TFTF! Thank goodness for past logs or we would have been lost...
Still has a bright blue lid! whew.
The pencil was dead so Macgyvered a twig and red leaf for the physical log.
Now for a nice relaxing beer by the tent

I'd wandered around the town checking out various sights while waiting for friends to arrive. once they had set up and we all had lunch it was back to walking into town again. the heritage centre is really worth a bit of time spent there, fascinating information about yesteryear. Back at camp I wasn't ready to settle just yet and as we were the only ones in the ground it was a good opportunity to go for the cache. I wasn't spotting what I needed to at GZ so read back through some logs and got a good hint and soon spotted the lid only to discover someone else had been there that day! Aah the secret life of cachers....love it. tftc musso madness

Having bid our farewells to folk at the Oz Geo Muster, we set our compass for Mudgee, where we set up camp, in order to explore the area to the south west of town including Hill End. Not quite where expected to be looking as satelllites today had our GZ 8 metres west of where we found the cache.
Thanks 'musso madness' for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Mudgee trip for The Road Less Traveled series. Day 3. Sofala to Mudgee via Hill End and lots more back roads. The location was a bit unexpected, but the camp ground was empty, so no unwanted attention.

After staying the night at the hotel we wandered down to the campground to look for this cache. The last time we were here there were too many muggles so we left it. Today, the place was fairly quiet and we made a quick find. We found the coords to be closer to S33 02.037 E149 24.763.

Found by Mary & David at 1140. In Hill End today with friends from our EAAF Cadet Course reunion in Bathurst, After coffees all round, we split up to explore the town, and David made a bee line for this cache. Indicated GZ was several metres away, so lost a few minutes searching the wrong area. Widened the search, and soon found the cache nicely hidden away. Our thanks to musso madness.
Not our lucky day. Already spent enough time scrambling around similar places while orienteering so time to head hone after a 20 min search.
Previously logged under team account BoogieRogue. Re-logging with my individual account. Quick find as the lid was sticking out from under the camo.
Bit of a puzzle to find the best way to this and avoid the blackberry but spidey sense then found it. TFTC
Was not able to find this one last time I was here, the boy finds it in seconds, makes a difference coming from a different direction me thinks.
### Trip to the bush ###
Day 1
We started our trip in Rouse Hill towards the bush region of New South Wales.
Our first stop was in Springwood where we took a little bush walk and found this letterbox in the middle of the bush. We then visited the geological sandstone attraction and informed ourselves about the geological features of this region.
We then continued our trip towards Katoomba where we enjoyed the breathtaking view over the Blue Mountains at Echo Points. We took a little walk and reached the 3 sisters form the originally 7 sisters. Now it was starting to get dark and we continued on to the town to look for a couple of more caches before finishing off the day.
Day 2
At early morning, we relaxed once more for a little while longer at Eco Point before we continued our trip towards Blackheath and Mount Victoria.
We had a little break at Lake Lyell where we visited the dam and had some snacks.
We then continued towards Ryell and high up to Mount Lambie where we were lucky to spot many animals again.
We left the main road just before Bathurst towards the quiet countryside past Peel, Wattle Flat and the historical Sofala. We had a coffee break at Sofala where we drove around the old historic town.
We then continued our drive on Hill End Road and we socked in the beautiful nature. We were lucky to see many animals on the way.
We were welcomed by many roos at Hill End.
We left Hill End and drove towards Hargreaves towards our night stop at Windeyer. We slept at Bushland Tourist Park once again in the beautiful train accommodation. We had dinner at the local pub where we had nice pasta.
Day 3
We had to first free the car from all the ice before we could start our trip towards Mudgee. It gets cold out there at night, around -1 degrees.
We drove towards the west to Wellington and Stuart Town, Mumbil, Dam Arthur and finished the day in Dubbo.
We were astonished by NSW untouched nature and beautiful wildlife.
Day 4
We started the day with a little trip outside of Dubbo’s bushalnds.
We then strolled around the city of Dubbo and visited the beautiful Botanic Graden of Dubbo. The Gardner’s put so much work into maintain this beautiful spot. Well done.
We started the trip home towards Sydney past Wellington, Mudgee and Portland.
We drove past the Mt Piper Power station and informed us about the tours.
We continued towards Sydney.
We hereby want to thank all owners for all the work you have done in maintaining the caches. You have showed us many beautiful and also many hidden spots which we wouldn’t have found without the caches.

Had a Geo expedition today with the Geo Parents, from Windeyer to Hargraves via Hill End. Many finds and a good time had by all.
We spent the day with our son, IRON.BRAD, although it is geoDan who has a titanium prosthesis courtesy of a recent hip replacement. A nice drive from Windeyer to Hell End to Hargraves and back to Windeyer. A bit of a hike for Sue and Dan when they went to the wrong campground, whilst Iron Brad did a much shorter bushbash. TFTC
This was a good one to find as nobody had found it for a couple of months. The natural camo was very effective and we had to use some instinct and geo sense to make the find. TFTC.

Another perfect spring morning for a final drive around to complete the TRLT trail with lgoody.
We made a quick diversion to Hill End for a few more caches.
We had a good look around and finally found it 11m from our GZ.
Cheers from 2 Wagga Wagga teams on our respective travels around the countryside.

Sneaky hide. Found it after reading some of the previous logs. You could say that we pined over it for ages. Cache in good condition. TFTC
This was our introduction to the world of Cache thanks to the Jonesbx crew. Finally found it thanks to some of the previous comments. Took 3 attempts over 2 days but finally found it.
We got in here last night, setup camp in the dark, cooked and went to bed for a cool, but not cold night. Spent way too long here looking with no luck. Then find out friends found it the day before.

I came to Hill End in year 10, on a school camp for history. But I'm sure we didn't camp at this spot. Bikerbuddy agreed that his memory of the spot he had camped at on a school trip was different to this area.
I thought the access to this would be via the campground, so we attempted that first. But there was a fence in the way, and a National Parks man between us & the fence. So we found an access route through from the other side. Took some searching for, but eventually we found it.
Thanks

We had a lot of difficulty finding this cache. First, we pulled over on the side of the road opposite the camping ground and tried to approach it from there. We scrambled down a slope but then were confronted by drops of about 7 metres caused by the erosion that is typical at Hill End. So we retreated and drove into the camping area.
The camping area was full of people. We parked the car and followed the GPS to a fence line, but there was a National Parks guy parked there. He was standing right next to the fence that we wanted to jump, speaking to another guy who I assumed was the camp ground manager. So we drove out, deciding to leave the cache.
But then I spotted what I thought might be a way in, off the road, not too far from the camp ground. I'd been able to check out the area from inside the camp ground, and I was also basing my guess on that. We parked the car and scrambled through some low lying branches. Once we were past them, it was fairly easy to walk to the cache location. However, when we got there, we couldn't find the cache in what seemed to be the obvious spot. We widened our search and I eventually found the cache in its place on the ground, covered. I only managed to see it because one corner of its lid peeked through. It was a lucky find. Thanks

We made the camp ground our lunch stop on a day trip from Mudgee where we are house sitting. Took a bit to find with the GPS jumping all over the place but then I spotted something blue out of the corner of my eye. SL TFTC

What a nice looking spot to camp, next time we visit we'll be bringing the van up here.

Lo tengo 0800hrs just after breakfast, we were camped 29m from GZ.
Tried this one last evening without luck, the GPS would not settle among the heavy foliage. So next morning at brekky I stood in a clear area and got a good signal and the compass function pointed me at a lone tree 29m away. Walking there I had to scour among the pine needles and soon found the prize.
The Off Roaders were right, water had done some damage to the log but we managed to separate the pages and get them dry. They go right back to 22 Sep 2006 and are now protected in their own zip lock bag. Also we added a new log book in its own bag so all should be good for awhile.
Took nothing and left a special stainless multi-tool for the next intrepid finder.
TF a great cache musso madness - a favourite for us.

We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the "land down under."
First we set up camp then we went after the cache. GPS took us to the wrong pine tree, after an extensive search we decided to broaden the search area, and we came up with a find. Cache is very wet after recent rains, the log book hard to sign. Maybe the next cacher in could bring some dry paper.
Thanks for the fun musso madness!

On a sunny day Mrs one-eyed & I along with our good friends Peter & Judy left Mudgee our holiday home base for Hill End , a town on my Bucket List.
After spending considerable amount of time searching the location, and following very heavy rains in this area believe the cache may have been washed away.
Perhaps a look see would be in order.
Cheers,

Took time was buried under pine tree near gz . log soaked. put back under pine tree with pine needles on top.
Looked breifly for this one but gave up. On reading the page again I should have expanded my search area a bit. Not to worry - still had a great day.
Found this cache after a night at the pub, but all contents gone ;-(
The location was less than 10m from my estimated GZ, and it was nicely hidden.
Perhaps the next finder can confirm and/or bring a new (flat-ish) 500mL container and log.
All the best to the new pub owner who starts on Thursday!!

Found with Chip and Ding on a day trip to Hill End from Sofala. As Chip mentioned we almost gave up on this one before finding it about 5-10m from our GZ. There were lots of toadstools growing in the pine needles, beautiful to look at, but not to eat I suspect!
Cheers

Found with Hoojar and Ding on a sneaky trip behind a camping ground. We almost gave up on this one as the area didn't seen to have any more hidey holes after searching everything at GZ... and we kind of became distracted with all the red and white mushrooms popping up through the pine needles, but Hoojar eventually came up with the goods, which was a few metres away from GZ.
Cheers.
Cheers.
Spending the night at the campsite, so figured I might as well try to sort this out or replace the cache. Cache owner has not logged on for nearly three years so I doubt he will be doing anything about it.
First job was to find the relocated cache, this was easy and was spotted from a few meters away, the blue lid was a give away. Getting it out of the bush/tree that it was hidden in was another matter.
I can understand all the DNF's as people who don't read logs or have older style GSP's that don't store GPX files would have no idea of the relocation.
Inside cache was dry, washed container and added some new "kids" swaps. Rode up to the shop hopeing to buy a new log book but they were shut. So have just added a few extra pages. Maybe the next cacher might have a spare log book with them??
Next was to replace at original co-ordinates. I had GZ at a small saddle with a steep sided knoll to the left (facing away from campsite) and a slope on the other side. Have replaced it at the base of a pine tree with the GSPr reading 2-3mts from GZ.
Hopefully from here on the cache will have a better life...

Read O319's log for the saga of sorting this cache out. Not sure why it would be moved, but all is right now..
Still a no go.
0 for 2 this morning. ;-(
Time to remove this listing.
It hasn't been found in over two years!

This was disappointing! I logged a DNF once before because of all the muggles, this time it seems it wasn't even there! Had a good look but got nothing! Please take a look at this one.
The Owner needs to replace this missing geocache so others are able to fix it also.
Well today we started geocaching but it looks like this one is no longer here, well most of it anyway.
Couldn't find this one, but after reading other logs, I don't think it's around here anymore. Had 7 Geokids look everwhere for this one and still no luck. Nice spot to come camping though.
