Had a lovely sit by at GZ by the watergate until the waves from the ferry shooed us away so we started our search. Nice stroll and also spotted a bird's nest along the way. TFTC
Happy international geocaching day! Its nice to turn this old one into a smiley. GZed and I strolled in playing a bit of Pokmon and marvelling at the buildings and the view. Then it was a matter of deduction of all the trees that matched the hint. Eventually we came up with the goods. Unfortunately, we left our pen in the car so attempted to scrawl with a stick. The log was too damp for that and I didnt feel like drawing blood. Rookie error. Sorry! I guess proof we were here is in logging the stage 5 of AL nearby. Great write up on the cache page too! TFTC!
Found a couple of trees that were definitely in the ball park, however nothing around them, so walked a little bit further, and managed to find it. A beautiful construction of a building. TFTC
A great cache. I loved the water gate. Id seen it from the river cat a few times so it was awesome to get up close and personal. Tftc!
On a cache run around Concord, Hunters Hill, Gladesville and Putney picking up a few solved puzzles as well as some stray caches we pass along the way. As we passed by the posted coordinates, we collected the needed information and paced our way towards GZ. Instructions were spot on as we arrived one pace short of our target. Nice easy find at GZ. With the cache in hand, we signed the log then replaced everything as found. Thanks for the cache ozjeeper. The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football, Tribute - Snickers, Lasse Lssig, Monkey See, Monkey Do, 030 TB - Geo#ju, Tobis Nikolo, Chase is on the case, Berlin - Cacherhauptstadt Geocoin
Awesome day to be out on a sunny yet cool Sydney day. I'm in the area visiting family and they suggested going to the Kakoda Trail nearby and the whole area was a fantastic experience. I would come back here anytime for a walk. The cache itself was easy enough to find. Like a few travelers I came from the Kakoda end and knowing that the cache was sitting between me and the watergate I applied a little geocaching logic and plucked the cache up in the first place i looked. Log signed. TNLN. With the logging done we ended up walking up to the watergate and I enjoyed looking over the ornate workmanship of this building and the school behind. The whole setting with the grass, tall trees and harbor view made it a really great place to be. Thanks for the opportunity for a bit of caching.
What a rockstar Mr. C.A. Che was - vale Mr. Che. Nice historical nod with the container. Alas I had no pen but did leave some small swaps, foreign coins etc. Visiting the beautiful supportive Rivendell on the annual open day fundraiser run by Canada Bay and friends of Rivendell. May we provide more of these restorative environments to those who need them. TFTC!
Nice one.
All the way out on the trail no one at all.
I stopped to get the answers and the empty picnic table became full.
Didnt know where i started counting but after many more than 190 steps
I spot the first target which didn't quite fit the brief.
Then wandering a bit more I spied the perfect location.
There it was!
Just as I get it in my hands.
Muggles! Everywhere.
All safe. Log dry.
All good.

Found with T . We were doing the AL along the track and noticed this multi. Once we'd finished the AL, returned and gathered the needed information. We were a little unsure as to how big a 'step' should be, but using the hint it wasn't long before we found the correct tree. Log signed and replaced. TFTC.
Solved and found with Coybear2000. We were doing the AL along the track and noticed this multi. Once we'd finished the AL bonus we returned and gathered the needed information. We were a little unsure as to how big a 'step' should be, but using the hint it wasn't long before we found the correct tree. Log signed and all replaced and we headed back along the track to where we'd parked. TFTC.
Well I must say, we sort of cut corners here.. mainly because we had a long walk planned and we didn't want to backtrack too much.. so we essentially did this one backwards. After estimating the average stride we had a general search area indicated on the map and used images of the Watergate to solve the number for the hint.. so with all that we kept our eyes peeled as we approached the area from the SW and sure enough there was the cache. We continued on to WP1 to admire the buildings, complete the nearby AL and ponder why there were so many mussel shells in the water, then continued our walk to the east. Thanks for placing this cache. Fun idea and we'll executed.
What could be a better end to Christmas Day than completing some geocaches in this very serene environment. Cache was found easily - the late afternoon sun glowing on the trees and buildings. TFTC
A very interesting story behind this cache. We appreciate learning something when caching. TFTC ozjeeper
Looked for this over two years ago and failed. Today it was first place I looked. SL TNLN TFTC
Was nearby doing the AL and did this at the last waypoint. Found the bonus then on my way back I was able to find this with no trouble. I must take a bit shorter step as came up about 15m short. But looking for what I needed based on the number I calculated and the hint I found before not to long. Cool location. FP from me for location and interesting history of this area.
Walking westward the tree is on the left side of the walkway! Enjoyed the walk around Rivendell TFTC
I had discovered the Foreshore Track thanks to the AL and when I saw the multi here too, it made sense to have a go. Being my first time here I spent some time looking at the buildings, but then got on to working out where the container could be. I tried projecting the distance and it didn’t feel right, but it was something. So I just went with the cache instructions as written. It ended up being a few extra steps for me but the hint made it clear when I was in range.
Parkrun in Wentworth common and then some caching on the way home. A few showers but not to bad. Struggled with the angles a bit but got there in the end

Out for an early morning cycle to Rhodes to complete an AL which brought me here to its final stage. Also collected the necessary info for this multi. Such a lovely area I’ve only seen from the river in the past and very interesting. Oh there were some really huge ants here which were coming for me!! Got the job done very quickly. Cache and log in good condition. Thanks for placing this cache ozjeeper #1330
Cache in good condition, just surrounded by bugs! A nice trail discovered as part of the Kokoda trail adventure labs. TFTC!
Post COVID vaccination nearby I went for a nice walk around here for some exercise. Great spot here and now this cache certainly has some age! I remember years ago coming here on an open day or something like that with my mum but that was a long long time ago! I really liked the buildings here- these older places fascinate me. No problems with the cache. TFTC!
Lmao, I actually peeked directly at it as we were heading to the GZ. TFTC. Been to Rivendell a few times and never noticed what's beneath the chimney. Weird.
TFTC,
Came here today to do the Adventure Lab Cache and catch up with the CO.
This was an add on to the day after finishing that and what an amazing add on. ozjeeper has done it again and presented another award winning cache presentation.
Adding a favourite and visited trackables.

In the area today doing the AL, checked this one out, took the necessary instructions and soon located a well hidden container ., stamped log and replaced. A big thanks to Ozjeeper haven't seen you for awhile.

Back when I first went to Cockatoo Island I saw this tower and thought it looks very cool, over here at the edge of the water. I never imagined I will be actually getting so close to it.
Once I got here it proved to be a bit hard to find.. or that's what you get when you do not read the entire description...
But after a while of going around.. I found it!
#This Day#
Our time here is almost at the end, so I am trying to make the best of it! I remembered I had some solved mystery caches around here, and it would be a shame to leave them here unfound... What if they are gone when I come back, or what if I never get to visit Sydney again.... Yep, had to find them now, between two shifts at work...
#This Trip#
We are back in Australia this year, despite these rough COVID times. We are here for work, but every now and then some time off allows for a bit of geocaching. Visited Adelaide for a day but after that we spent most of the time in Sydney Olympic Park.
It is my first time in South Australia and NSW, so it is very nice to get these state souvenirs!

What a beautiful sunny summer's day in Sydney!
I love how geocaching takes you to new places to discover. After following the nearby adventure lab around the Kokoda Trail I continued walking in the sunshine.
The 'water gate' building had an interesting history and grand architecture. It was nice to explore. The 'first geocacher story' was fascinating and deserving of a favourite point. The instructions were a bit strange, but careful stepping and counting and use of the hint helped me to easily locate the cache.
Thanks for the cache.

This is a very interesting place, I loved the style of the Watergate and nearby buildings and will now know what I am seeing as I pass by in the ferry. A quick count gave me the needed numbers and I set off to GZ, which took me about 30 paces more than that given, even though I have long legs. Thanks ozjeeper, this is a good multi and we enjoyed the walk out here to find it.
TFTC. A lovely way to spend the morning near the river. Thanks for the history lesson.
I couldn’t really work out the parts of this cache but had an idea so headed that way. After 30 minutes searching I contacted a previous finder who remembered this cache and still had the details. I was nowhere near it but found quickly once I got to the coordinates. I liked the ideas presented in this cache and so much history. I think hide and seek would have been around like before this guy though. Tftc tnln
That took some effortZ I was looking in the wrong direction to start with. Once I realised I was going eastly instead of westerly. It still took a few trees to find.
After a drive across the city it was nice to arrive at this peaceful park. Packed near the posted coords and wandered down to the river front to collect the numbers. Headed west for 190 or so steps and soon spotted was I was looking for. SL and retired to a seat near the car for some lunch and a cool one which I had brought with me. TFTC and a favourite from me.
Not sure whether this should be a note or a DNF. I ran out of time to do a thorough search, but I thought I searched all the suitable places/
Saw that this cache was nearby after finding the nearby Kokoday Memorial mystery cache, and decided to come and look fo it. We obtained the required number easily enough, but then made the finding of the cache at GZ almost a DNF because we did not read the cache description properly on the phone. In the end, we made the find because we persisted in checking all the trees around. Thanks for bringing us here. We enjoyed the walk and will come back again another time to explore the area. Thanks ozjeeper.
Found with Anominous Sign on 8/03. Very interesting local history. Thanks for the cache and local knowledge.
Wow, what a great piece of history! I'd always wondered what this building was when going past on the ferry. Now I know! And that the complex is named after a town in the Lord of the Rings! Woo!
We collected the info from the site of C.A.Che's original cache and then made our way to the new GZ where the new cache was soon in hand. Thanks for the history lesson and the fun find!

OCW The Shoes gang. Interesting cache, would be very easy to be a needle in a haystack because of how variable 190 steps could be, but surprisingly we found it fairly quickly. Lovely spot along the river - off for lunch now under a tree! TFTC
A nice day to be down by the river with Little Shoes, Shoes Junior, Rainbow Bears, and YolkieB. We collected the required numbers at the Watergate, and stepped out the paces to GZ. Luckily Mr S and the CO must have a similar stride length, because there weren't many options at the 190 step mark. The numbers collected at the Watergate made sense to us later. TFTC
Fave point added for the beautiful location and fun, quick multi.

I knew this building was here and this was a good opportunity to check it out up close. Lots of trees with lots of trunks but I got the right one and had CIH. TFTC!

After the AGM of Geocaching NSW, we decided to do a few caches in the area. The grounds of Yaralla Estate and Rivendell are vast and we were happy to see developers have not managed to get a hold of this area and destroy it with yet more high rise.
I was particularly impressed with the architecture of the Rivendell Estate and the Dutch Water Tower and Gate.
After collecting the answers we walked the required number of steps, loudly announcing every multitude of 10. Once we did our steps we started our search. My eagle eyed friend spotted the cache a bit further down the track. I guess it depends how the size of steps where you end along the trail.
After signing duties the cache was replaced and we continued our stroll across the estate. We were still puzzled why we needed to count pillars and doors.

What excellent buildings (both Rivendale and Watergate). Thank you ozjeeper for bringing us here. We even sat on THE stone steps to eat some lunch. Then having counted, we were off to find the cache. Today was the day we didn't have a pen that worked, so although we found the cache we couldn't sign the log. TFTC
Glad to knock this one off after finding gate closed a few weeks ago. Did the calcs then went for a stroll. Of course the number of steps depends on how long or short your legs are! For little old Brew it seemed more like 250 steps! And is it on RHS as you walk away or return? Anyway, nice piece of history and a decent view across the water. I could hear the school rowing team in practice while I wandered around. TFTC
I came to do this multicache before but found the Landgate closed and it seemed too far to walk. Today I drove in and parked right near the Watetgate. A short stroll had me at GZ and CIH. TFTC
We live not far from this area and walked around here before, but didn't think of looking for caches here. TFTC and sharing the history of this beautiful place!

Interestingly I found this one on my way to the posted coordinates before I had collected any info. Now that's something that doesn't happen very often. SL and continued on to check out the views.

Find 1 of 2 while out exploring Concord with geogirl.
Parking in the hospital car park we entered via the impressive main gate and headed off to try and find the traditional nearby which we failed to do. Undetered we headed along the Foreshore walk to the main goal for the day...this multi.
Having read the details of this multi throughly at home (always need to be well prepared when out caching with kids), I had a good idea of where I would be searching for the cache. Heading towards the first WP the geosenses convinced me to have a quick look at a structure near the path and straight away I could see something poking its head above the camo, success CIH. Signed the log, visited TBs and returned where found but with more camo so it is not visible. Then did a quick happy dance, well actually more or a frantic hopping around to get the HUGE bullants off my legs! Wow have never seen them so big! Geogirl thought all this was very funny from the comfort of her pram.
So now off to WP1 to ‘finish’ the multi. What a great location, not to be missed, beautiful buildings and views to the city. Geogirl and I enjoyed morning tea here before heading back to finish a nearby mystery.
Thanks for another great multi ozjeeper and for bringing us to this wonderful location.

Muggles: A few, but none at inconvenient times
Weather: Hot summer evening
Cache condition: Good
I was visiting my Concord office, and drove in so that I could find some caches on the way home. I parked near the hospital and headed along the Foreshore Trail, enjoying the warm evening if wishing there was more of a water view. As I approached the end I had a desire to check nearby objects, and one of the first I checked was hiding the cache, so I signed before heading on to the posted co-ordinates to get the required details i.e. I did everything the cache asked, just in the wrong order. Each year I follow the Aust Solo Speedway Championships which are held over four meetings. This year those meetings are at Kurri Kurri nsw, Undera vic, Mildura vic, and Gillman sa.
It only seems sensible to do some geocaching along the way. It helps to break the driving and I get a lot of enjoyment from it.
Please excuse this generic log as there are too many to do them individually, but I certainly appreciate the dedicated work of all the COs in providing us with this great hobby.

Today we all headed over to Rhodes, to visit the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway, the historic property of Rivendell, and to have a stroll along the new Rhodes waterside precinct, and of course to collect the caches found along the way. This was our 2nd of 9 finds, and 1 DNF, for the day.
After a very pleasant stroll along the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway, and finding the mystery cache of the same name, we followed the foreshore track out to this one. The historic buildings of the old Rivendell hospital were an impressive sight, and the old waterfront gatehouse at WP1 was a beauty. Took a few photos, gathered the required info, then headed off "counting" our way to final GZ.
Soon arrived at final GZ and made a reasonably quick find, after we had spotted the "correct" one. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Thanks ozjeeper for bringing us to historic Rivendell, and thanks for the cache.
**Cachers be warned**, there is a very active nest of large bullants (the big black ones with orange nippers) right at GZ, which we disturbed while retrieving & replacing the cache container, and they were none-too-happy for us to be there !

I was attending the Rivendell Open Day and was early for my tour so I decided to attempt this one first. I just loved the Watergate and later in the day had the opportunity to enter it and view the river from its upper level. Great multi, thanks ozjeeper.
Found with geybunny. Upon reaching GZ finally understood the clue. Signed the fresh new log TFTC
Thanks Celtical for the heads-up re the state of the log. A brand new logsheet in a brand-new ziplock bag was left late this afternoon.
Lovely walk. Counted my steps and was pretty close. Unfortunately the log is damp unable to sign. Needs replaced. See photo. TFTC
Cute little cache in a lovely little spot However the log is damp and probably needs replacing. TFTC!
Took the dog for a walk through here on a nice sunny morning. Found it easily, but the log is damp.
Did the steps, now what do I do for the next number? Hunted nearby trees to no avail.
Took a while to realise the difference between steps and meters. Thanx for the ride.
Took a while to find as we did not read the instructions well enough so we looked in the wrong spot. Read it again and found the cache quite quickly. TFTC
Fantastic quick multi in a wonderful area. Have always wondered about the purpose of the gate and hospital whenever I passed it on the ferry, along with questions of how to get there. Now I know.
Read through the details of the original cache placer, what a shame about the ferry disaster, but interesting story and last name.
Came through via Kokoka and enjoyed all of the views and multi purpose fields nearby.
Cache itself was fairly easy and directions are quite accurate.
Worthy of a favourite for the excellent location.
Thanks for the cache!
