Recent rains and the undergrowth has flourished!! You'd need a machette to reach gz at the moment....either that or swim/wade the creek.
I'll check out the situation in another couple of weeks as the Council and local volunteer workers are hard at work at the moment. Maybe the track will be cleared again.
I got as close to the cache and then found I had a 100 metre scrub bash to get to the spot. The creek has been running pretty high after recent rain and there is a lot of debris along the banks.
Someone has been planting a lot of seedlings around the area.
Could not locate the cache after a 15 minute search and then had to follow my "easy to see" 100 metre trail back through the head high grass.

No hope with this one.
Had myself, 4 Geokids and a Geoinlaw and still couldn't find it.
Spent *ages* on what turned out to be the wrong side of the creek LOL.
Went to the correct side but the overgrown scrub and risen creek water level from recent rains got the better of us.

I found this, but I think the terrain should be increased. When I was here I found no path at all to GZ. It was overgrown with grass and weeds. But still a great find. I could see my car parked on the other side of the creek, so close, yet no way across. TFTC
Don't you just love these creekside caches when you find yourself on the wrong side of the creek??? I reckon the geohound must have found the track into this cache! TFTC TNLN
Found on a bit of a detour filling in time on the way to a training course in town. The place it "had to be" was obvious but still took a bit of a scratch around to find!

Made it to GZ after bush-bashing (or rather grass-bashing my way through on the other side of the creek. There were lots of new seedlings planted in containers. I'm wondering if someone's also been through to remove the cache? I couldn't find it...
DNF @ 6:36pm
I was actually in the area to look for 'Off Track' but the paths on my map didn't quite match the paths in reality and I won't up with this one as being my closest cache once I got myself organized.
I'm glad now, reading the logs, that I'm not the only one who hemmed and hawed about what side of the creek I should be on. I didn't find it on the street side. By the time I back tracked to get to the other side it was pretty dark. I gave up when the path I was blocked by a huge scrub turkey nest, pile thing. Next time.

My first attempt at this cache did not come closer than 20m. My second was at GZ but I must have missed the cache by 1mm. Did not look hard enough.
Later after doing the other caches in this lovely park I returned on advice, and rechecked where I had looked before. Success. None so blind as those that do not use their eyes.

Part of an early morning jog through the area - unfortunately I couldn't find any trace of a cache, although there is a nice hiding spot.
Cache container replaced.
I couldnt find the original logbook....a new log book has been added.
Coords are unchanged.
ITS BEEN MUGGLED!!!!
I found the log book in its bag on the ground at the base of the tree. I looked around but couldn't find the cache or the rest of the contents. I didn't have a spare cache on me to replace it, so I signed the log and put it in a dry spot (possibly at the same spot as where it should have been).

We walked around this park and did 4 caches, as it threatened to start raining. The wild turkeys were cool - but too fast for my camera. TFTC.
The first of several caches tonight in the good company of DAK.
After searching through my unorganised caching paraphernalia, and with just enough batteries in hand to power my headlamp, we set off for what seems an interesting meander to the cache, especially at night. A short stroll later, and after finding the correct path, the cache was in hand......no camoflague at all over the cache.
Log signed, and a short drop of my Aussie 2007 geocoin, and we were off.
Thanks for the cache and its location.

#5 of 10 finds on my fourth night in Brisbane in company with Map Monkey. We found this one at 2115. We had come from an informal meeting of local cachers at the Coffee Club. When I indicated that I was going after this one next, a few people expressed surprise, and told me to avoid falling into the water! Wingy gave us a hint about the best access point, so we set off. We found GZ, and the cache, with no dramas. The cache was an easy find, because it was completely exposed! We covered it better before we left. I made no exchange. Thanks to wingaap for the cache. Cheers, dak.
Found my way into this one okay. Should have paid more attention to the surrounds instead of staring at the GPS. Now to try and find my way out! [:o]
A delightful spot to stop and enjoy the wildlife. We were fortunate enough to run into a chap planting trees all through the area, who gave us a rundown on the history of the Reserve, and told us about a fun little rock-hop across the creek further down the track. We took his advice and left the Reserve via the rocks, then wandered the suburban streets, crossed a cute old pedestrian bridge, and managed to relocate our vehicles. Apparently the area was bequeathed to the government as a bird sanctuary, and the locals still refer to it as such. There was an attempt made to build sporting fields and housing on it for the Commonwealth games, which was thwarted by action taken by said residents, thus preserving this park for us to find caches in. Very interesting. TFTC! ='.'=
Met a fellow who has been very busy planting trees in the area. Apparently this land was originaly donated as a bird sanctuary so the trees being planted are to encourage more birds back here. He told the kids about the stepping stones across the creek so that was our next port of call after locating the cache. We logged whilst watching the ducks swim through the water lilies. A most enjoyable walk through this reserve. Thanks Wingaap.
The cache was very easy to find...GZ wasn't. At first we didn't know which side of the creek it was located. Seemed that there was no track into the bush on either side. We read the logs again carefully and finally found our way in to find the cache high and dry.
Found quickly once I'd reached GZ. I reckon if it ever rains again this will be a popular swimming spot. For now, the ducks and willy wagtails have it all to themselves. TN/LN/SL. Looks like that balances the books for Banks Street Reserve. Sure is a nice bit of bush.
Found a few more Wingaap caches within the Reserve today.
What a pleasant spot, even though I took the difficult way in.

I love easy Wingaap caches unfortunatley they seem to be few a far between these days. Found this cache very exposed so tried to hide it a little better TFTC and the great spot.
This was a DNF for us. Was nowhere to be seen.
The saw bigfellas at another cache and they said they eventurally found it swimming and replaced it.
Don't know what happened there.
Would have been a nice hide if I'd found it.
Found after big brissy brekky. Thanks - nice little hide.

Took me two attempts to find this one. We hunted around GZ for 15 minutes the first time, but to no avail. Thought I might have a GPS problem and starting hunting the other side of the river, during which time I heard 'Cached' russling around GZ, which raised my interest in that area again. We headed back for our second attempt and notice that 'Cached' had given up the hunt and disappeared into the scrub. On further investigation of GZ, I notice a container floating in the water 5M metres from GZ, which turned out to be the cache. We stuck around a while and dried everything out. The log was still dry. I placed it back in what I believed to be it's original hiding spot (not the stream). She's now back in action - thanks to 'Cached'
Pre-dawn raid on Banks Street Reserve (cooler weather)!!
Good to see a use for old election signs, used as tree protection surrounds for the little saplings!!
This is the last of the caches in the resrve for me...
Time for more, I say. I like walking in here.

Great spot for a cache and a great place to walk the dog as well. Thanks, A&C
The only regret for this cache was that I didn't take my camera with me. The revegitation of the area is going well and should look good in a couple of years

YIPPEE, YIPPEE- This was our 600th find( GC only). What a great little nook you have found for a cache. I loved the litte path leading past the scrub turkey's nest all the way to GZ. Thanks Bruce again for helping lots of us get our numbers up. Not that its a numbers game???? Cheers The Nanks
Very quiet, not a muggle in sight.
Dropped off TB #3 Proximity Tag (Jan 9 @ approx 11am)
Wingaap the cache was positioned incorrectly I placed it back into its original spot.
Also my son just 'had to have' the Bronco's cards.

This cache must have decided to take a holiday. It took us over 1.5hours for us to find this one. We were only metres away from the location when the rainclouds started to come over sending the GPS into haywire mode. We ended up then walking back to the car and decided that it must have been on the other side of the creek. We drove to the other side to have the rain stop and the sun come out and us end up walking from the other side back to our original location...argggh technology. Can certainly relate to the fellow cacher thinking he was a ping pong ball.
Eventually we found the spot where we though the cache should be and it was nowhere to be seen. After almost giving up geowife decided to try down near the creek and found the cache floating on the water's edge.
After signing the log book and replacing back where it should be we were exhausted and headed to Mcdonalds for lunch. Needless to say we will be back another day to tackle the other caches in the reserve!!

You may want to check on this one when next walking your dog that we replaced it in the correct location. Our GPS doesn't work all that well under trees and if you read our log today we found the cache actually floating down the creek.
Found with family. Took dinosaur and golf ball, left troll and McDonald's toy. Nice spot for a hide.

This cache was find number 30 of 102 finds I did with Dtay for our record attempt on Saturday 18 November 2006.
We were here at 06:50 hours.
We did something a bit silly with this one - we actually approached from the correct side of the creek, but as we got closer, in our wisdom decided that it must be on the other side, so trotted off in the direction of a bridge.
It is at this point that I fail to see an ankle high strand of wire which very successfully caused 191cm and 103kg to come crashing down very rapidly in a spectacular face plant. I picked myself up, dusted myself off, retrieved my wayward GPS and thought how lucky I was that I didn't come into contact with any sharp sticks or rocks.
Anyway, after that we continued over to the other side of the creek to discover that it was the wrong side and we were in fact right the first time - so back we go again - taking carful note of where said wire was.
Found cache, recorded our visit and continued gingerly on our way.
TFTC (I think...)

This cache was find number 30 of 102 finds today with Rogainer as part our record attempt.
Found at 06:50
Rogainer cam a tumbling down in the round about wayward hunt for this cache. Played ping pong on which side of the creek to be. All I can say is don't jog in the bush near the edge of the grass.

Looks like we fell for the obvious trap like others and approached from the wrong side of the creek - oh well, nothing lost, we just jumped back in the car and drove someone better to approach.
Having arrived at GZ I was relieved I didn't try to cross the creek as it had enough water in it to have made the crossing a little difficult.
The cache was found easily & by the time I'd finished signing the logbook & returning the cache I realised that one of the three kids was missing... I quickly found it 4m above my head - nice climbing trees in here!

Not sure what happened, but we actually managed to find the right path in, and ended up on the right side of the creek for a change.
We enjoyed a pleasent walk to GZ, where the cache was an easy find. The GeoKid had it in hand before I could work out where GZ was....
We left a finger puppet and took a spikey orange thing.
After we signed the log, we stopped to enjoy our cheese cake. (A reward for a previous caching sucess) Great spot to eat cake!

Back to Banks St Reserve, yet AGAIN. And it wont be for the last time, as at least one cache here still eludes me. Managed to find a track through the scrub to this one. Pretty easy find. Found at 12.10pm But I really do wonder what will happen to the cache when the creek flows full and high. Perhaps a tether would be useful. TFTC

1225, Fairly easy to find as this was my second visit here, forgot to register when out with witchpig, was uncovered. Didn't appear to be muggled, looked like animals have been digging. TNLN

we thought we were going to have a hard time finding this one.
We crossed to the correct side of the creek which was surpisingly quite high - the recent rain we had must have been heavier then I thought.
Using my sons inbuilt navigational system we had it in our hands in no time - very handy having him around.
Out: a toy car

Started from the wrong side of the creek then realised our mistake. Walked the pleasant track and was nearly bold over by some kids on mini motor bikes. Wondered if the cache could be in jeopardy if this creek ever floods. TNLN TFTC

Oh why is there always a creek between me and the cache [:o]
It was a beautiful day, so I was on my push bike for this cache hunt
Being on a push bike meant I tended to follow the bike tracks. Thus my predicament as mentioned above
Another 10minutes though and I had the cache in my hot little hands
Lovely quiet spot down by the creek. The birdlife didn't seem too worried about me being there either.

Found this one the 2nd time around, was a reasonably easy find once we got our bearings (and used other peoples hints).
Was dissapointed to find there was no travel bugs in it like we thought there would be when we left home. Someone must have beaten us to it today.

Once upon a time on a Hot and Sweaty afternoon......
I found this one ok agmonst the zigging and zagging but I mainly relied on my instinct to find this one. I had to quickly adjust to stealth mode with the muggles swarming all over the place.

This was a nice spot for a cache, which was well hidden. I was disappointed that I couldn't do any more for the afternoon, because I was running out of time.

I really enjoyed my late afternoon stroll to this cache.
I parked in the same place that i did when i last visited this bushland and despite a fairly zig-zagged track to the cache, i ended up finding my to GZ in without any trouble.
The cache is well hidden and in good shape. I logged my find in the book and watched the water birds for a while. A very pretty spot for the final cache.
I made no exchange but i did leave a fistful of travellers... 3xGeocoins and a TB.
Cheers and thanks for the cache Wingaap.

This one evaded us, couldnt get the gps to get any closer then 10m. We looked around in the area but had no luck. Was no muggles around supprisingly.
20:48hrs Follow the arrow he says. I did that, into the swampy creek, got a little wet, scrambled through the lantana, lost a little bit of blood, onto a beautiful track. Cleared the spiderwebs as I went and found the cache. Walked back onto the track and the open fields before returning via the bikeway. Definitely much more pleasent. TFTC.
Had no trouble finding a cache once at GZ or getting there , just follow your arrow Yes as promised this area was muggle central, hordes of them everywhere.
