Logs
We are archiving this cache as we no longer want to be involved in geocaching. We have just discovered that we have had another offensive log posted about us, this time by WEKA. The idea that we are just UNCLE with a different username is not going to go away no matter how many times we try to explain. We started geocaching with UNCLE about 12 months ago because of our shared interest in motorcycle adventure touring. Geocaching seemed to complement that really well. We didn't set up our own account as we were happy to tag along with him but we did pay for a premium membership on his account as we thought it would make planning rides easier. That is the reason we took over the account when he decided to stop caching. Our plan was to set up our own account once the membership expired. The numbers aren't important to us. We changed the username because we aren't UNCLE. We adpoted his caches and agreed to look after them but we are not prepared to do that anymore. We kept out of the politics but it seems the politics won't leave us alone. We read about allegations of bullying in geocaching in the newspaper the other day and after the way we have been treated by woody104 and WEKA we are starting to see what was meant.

Nice spot this morning, hardly any waves but a cool breeze meant I didn't linger.

Granville's visiting from Invercargill so family afternoon out caching. Mama and Guwapo stayed at the boat ramp while Granville and Papa walked around the rocks. A great walk and cache. Granville got to GZ and decided to act like a goat and go up the bank. After reading Cumbyrocks logs Papa looked a bit lower and found the cache. Salamat!
A nice wee scramble along on a beautiful sunny day. A solo caching expedition this morning meant I could go after those caches I'd not wanted to take the kids on. Searched for a little while for this one till I realised I was too high. One of the hint objects had been cut back but the cache is still well hidden. Was very keen to stop and take a dip when I got back to the car but other caches were waiting...

Awsome views at GZ on a stunning day. These are the sort of caches we like, scrambling over rocks to somewhere we would have never gone otherwise. Cheers TFTC
A fantastic scramble over the rocks, definitely better at low tide. We walked passed the structure (no idea what it is by the way) and there's a few possibilities of where it could be hidden but keep looking head(ish) height.
CAUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............ The track from the road down to the shed has slipped down......... be carefull and find something to hold on to.
The 15 min walk to the cache was not that bad. Nice day out here today. TFTC.

Nice romp over the rocks to the cache this afternoon..it was very pleasant and worth the time spent enjoying the views.
Nice cache with a lovely walk to it. We saw the stone wall thing don't know what it is for.

We found your cache uncle after you beet us to the ftfs out this way. nice walk to the cache even in the rain. See you at the next one. Thanks.
This certainly was a new area for us and we enjoyed the walk along to the bar. We were luck to get a fine still morning to retrieve the cache as the tide was going out. TFTC
Took a little to find the track, but nice walk to GZ. Should have trusted GPSr rather than the clue. Found after I have checked all clues with the GPSr resting on GZ. Hmmm
Very cool spot for our 70th cache! Enjoyed the area immensely. Left Groovy Geocoin. TFTC.
A lovely morning's walk with Vicky from Purakanui causeway. Beautiful day, no wind, gorgeous views. A well-used route around to the viewpoint, GZ within 3 metres, fast find, nice dry cache. We saw in the log that a local thought the box was a 'stash' under his favourite seat! Thanks for introducing us to "The Cafe" (BYO thermos).
Did a maintenance check this morning. Cache all present and correct. Dry as a bone. I had co-ords accurate to 7m. Given the limited number of hiding places I would say that is accurate enough! Have updated the cache page to reflect changing environment at site.
A good nine months since this has been found by the look of the logs. Just as well too as the cache was sitting out in the open. Replaced properly. TFTC, a good reason to visit this picturesque spot.
Found in dusk as the tide coming in hard and fast, most scary at that time! Excellent cache site, really enjoyed the trek. Took the Travel Bug and left a fireman.
Thanks for a fun cache. Still unsure what the structure is, i am sure the constructor knows LOL.

Had noticed comments from recent finders that co-ords may be out by 10 metres or so. Was going to head to cache to check. But have spoken to Thorian who said he was 2-3 m which is well within usual margins of accuracy. So will leave as is for the time being. But would appreciate comments in logs as to accuracy of co-ords. Thanks.
Lovely day for a walk around to this one! The tide was in so we stuck to the sheep track which made things a little easier. At GZ my GPS was insisting on going higher, but a little local searching (used the clue) was enough to find the cache. Great spot, TFTC U.N.C.L.E.

A lovely walk and a very nice spot for a cache. Had never been here before.
Cache an easy find despite coords being 10m off. No, there's no need to climb anything steep!
Dropped off Canadian Geocoin, TNSL. Thanks for a great cache.

Very cool walk - was expecting to see some war ruins or something in regards to the structure but alas no - wonder what it is for

Found eventually!!! GPS told us 8m away, so risked our lives, climbing to the top of the bank/cliff several times. Being ready to give up, I commented to my husband why couldn't it be somewhere easy like this, and it was. Words can't describe the look on his face.
My only problem was, that my GPSr had maps showing some roads which I suspect are "paper roads". After finding the trail, I actually found the cache extremely quickly (usally I tend to overshoot). TFTC.
First cache for the New Year. Lovely day, low tide. Very soothing to sit and watch the surf. Took nothing but left a small toy soldier.
Cheers, Bruce.

After so many grey days it was great to get out.
Out with all the kids and family from Christchurch.
Nice spot for a cache and that structure is impressive.

Lovely walk. Lost the kids a bit before the cache. They found something more interesting - young rabbits. Then a train went past on the opposite hill - it was all happening there at the bar! Thanks.
Nice wee stroll out to the cache, strong wind once I got round the point.
Many Thanks Bitsprayer
