DNF as per the last three logs, but I decided to go have a good look around and check for the owner anyway. Time for some maintenance Andrew - it's definitely gone
What can I say? I really enjoyed this cache . We didn't find it ,we looked for about 15 mins. But as we left we got to talking to a fisherman who had caught two salmon and he gave us one . Well guess what we had for tea. Thanks.
Looked everywhere......nothing.
A recent storm left heaps of seaweed piled up on the beach. This proved to be difficult to cross resulting in geomum and geoson falling through the seaweed to the water below. It was a very smelly trip home!!

Looked high and low, scratched around, maybe GZ was out. Anyway the male Coaster had had enough of scrambling around in bare feet. Next time take thongs, old joggers, crocs or anything to protect the feet. We will return.
Really enjoyed this cache. We had anticipated it to be much more difficult, but the tide was low and the water only ankle deep
A really great spot, thanks for bringing us here

The walk was thankfully over soft ground as shoes were on the other bank. Mosquitoes were able to carry away horses and quite prolific.

This is not one for the oldies.
Mrs Dritz and I went out to find this one. Got to the "stream" and I in true tribal fashion, and being a gentleman, stood back to allow Mrs Dritz the pleasure of crossing this "stream" first.
I stood back with the camera to observed and record her comments which by the time she got a third of the way across were none too pleasant.
We had been to mass that morning and all the good benefits we received were fast dissipated
We will however leave this cache for another day when the Madstars team visits next.

This one was quite close to where we were staying and being the last cache we were going to do for the day Bruce decided to do the wade. Managed to get the cache without any great dramas but reckoned it was because of his off-road crocs. Thanks Team Gunn Parker
It all makes sense now - a Gunn Parker cache. Why didnt I know! it had all the elements (I am thinking back to In Over Your Head). I especially like the way that you picked an inlet which looked shallow but had a "false" bottom. Ekkk.... How is it that I took the "plunge" while Ian stood back holding my camera?
A great cache hide and made staying in Busselton even more fun.

We had attempted this one about two years ago but couldn't find the access way. A bit better prepared today, we parked at the horse exercise beach area off Caves Road. We had a water crossing to forge, I came prepared with the wellies and geo hubby had his thongs (the rubber ones for feet!!) We found what we thought was the shallowest section to make the crossing, but I discovered half way across that looks can be deceiving as the water came over top of the wellies and up the thighs. We were both laughing so much at how ridiculous we looked, but pressed on out the other side. We quickly zeroed in on GZ, me sqelching all the way still in my wellies, logged the find and returned the same way, managing to soak our trousers on the return trip. It was a really fun find.

WanderingAus wandered by on day five of a seven day meander through the Wheatbelt, Southwest and Great Southern regions.
I wasn't sure how deep the water was so I stripped off and changed into bathers, put my shoes and shirt in my backpack and put on my "Crocs", hung my shorts around my neck by the belt and headed across the stream. To my surprise the footing was firm and the water was only knee deep.
I proceeded in the general direction of GZ and made a fairly easy GAFF 1 find at 3:50 PM. Having already stripped off once I decided to claim GA0337 Nude Up for a Smiley! by Cached (http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga0337), so I stripped off again and attempted to take a photo of myself with the ocean in the background. My pocket tripod was useless for the task but eventually I managed to get part of me in the shot.
My find No 1210 and 54th of 77 for the trip, TNLNSL, dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC in for a visit before grabbing it back again.
On the return journey I discovered a log concealed by long grass[B)], and was able to claim GA1005 Casualty Ward by Team Bluedog (http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga1005). My troubles weren't yet over. When I reached the water crossing I retraced what I thought were my tracks into the water, only to discover very soft footing, and I sunk up to my armpits. I was barely able to keep my camera, iPaq, GPS, mobile phone, wallet and Spot (Satellite Personal Tracker) above water[B)]. Fortunately the backpack is mostly waterproof.
With difficulty I was able to retrieve my Crocs from the sucking mud, breaking one ankle strap in the process. I struggled back to the bank, and proceeded along to MY crossing point about 40 metres further along.

Water was a bit deeper than it looked, the bottom was not solid but just sand covering the seaweed.

Managed to get a bit damp doing the crossing and found the cache reasonably easily. The Christmas spiders were out in force however they are very little and quite pretty. The beach area was fairly deserted and muggle free.

Found this one on our way from Busso to Dunsbrough. Not surprising that the terrain was up a bit on this one, we sunk into some sand crossing the little sea river, almost lost my thong in there, the geo-BF pulled me out, but then as we approached the cache, hundreds of christmas spiders and webs, scary little creepy crawlies, so the geo-BF found the cache and we took it to the beach side and SL. We T: nothing, L: nic-nacs including flintstones pencil sharpener and yellow toy boat. TFTH. Lovely unpopulated beach, no muggles anywhere except back near the car park.
Nice quick walk, where I already made use of my new pants in the water. While crossing the channel I sunk into the sand that my pants got wet. But who cares in summer time. This place is near a nice quite beach where I also found these spiders protecting the treasure. No trade, TFTC.
Nice spot and another that I have driven past many times. Next time I am back this way I intend to have a walk along this lovely little beach and throw a line in.
Took coin GTN0GQ to move on. LN as I had run out of swaps.

Find #2 on my Busselton Dunsborough geocycling tour. Nice deserted beach. Getting to the cache was tricky, but not so much for the reason owner had thought I have never penetrated thru so many fresh cobwebs. Those spiders were mad.
This was a great little area. My third find for the day. Not being from the area these 'finds' took me off the beaten track of most tourists.

Quick easy find once I had crossed the river. Although shallow, I sunk up to my knees at the edges and nearly got the PDA and camera that were in my pockets wet. No-one around on the beach. Dropped off Coin. Greetings from South Africa.
Lucky for us the river was not too difficult to cross (especially if you are on dads back). A good fun cache for us all. Nice to be able to think about all the fun that must have been had the area in days gone by. TFTH. TNLNSL. Mog

Here's the problem with Australia: this cache is essentially a pit stop at the side of the road - and is absolutely stunning in every way. We sure didn't miss the winter back home as we were wading through the stream to find this cache. Stayed for lunch. Could have stayed for days and days. Thanks huge for this one.
Hmm this was a bit of a tricky one
After trying the "easy" way we decided not to risk the cammera and the GPS in the fast flowing stream.
We ended up taking the long walk along the beach option from the other side.

Very interesting! My hero took off his shorts and waded the creek without getting his clothes wet, while his heroine ( a foot shorter) stayed on this side and cheered him on and didn't get wet either!
Took several friends on this hunt to show them how to find a cache. Walked straight to it and then had to get friend to spot it. TNLN Tks for the cache
Was on holidays with another geocache team but we couldn't find this one at all, might be an idea to double check it is still there
Bit of a different approach to this one, with sea water and drainage water going in either direction. We enjoyed the surroundings whilst looking for the cache.

The weather was starting to clear and we got our first hint of sunshine as we headed for this cache. After a strenous morning and a glass of wine with lunch we were happy for an easy level walk. The beautiful location was a huge bonus. We found the cache easily. On the way back, we were delighted to find some quicksand at the edge of the nearby pool. We had great fun letting ourselves sink quickly in halfway up our shoes before jumping out. Even after a bit of wine, we weren't silly enough to try the experiment of seeing how far we would sink. Anyone else who wants to try please record the results here.
Visiting from Tassie, and by pure good luck found that there was enough seaweed to get us over the water obstacle! T Ansett Tassie devil pencil case (seemed appropriate!). L frog Thanks

Ken was the only one with long enough legs to get across the creek without getting his crotch wet. Too early in the day for that for Bel. Coords led Ken straight to the cache which is just as well as he doesn't look around. He left some inane scrawl in the logbook. Lucky Bel was with him on the rest of the caches today.

We were trying out our new Camper Trailer at the nearby Peppermint Park Eco Village when one of the Geokids said, lets got geocaching. Mucking around I said if their in not one within 5 miles of here, we aren't going. Switched in GPS and saw this one. Being smart the eldest converted the 5 miles to kilometres and found this one to be 7 kilometres away.
Came in off the highway, waded the inlet (shorts off and jocks wet) much to the merriment of nearby bathers.
Once across, an easy find was made.

First find with Goosey (as we were staying together in Busselton) and my second for the weekend.
Only wrote down co-ords and didnt have paperwork...so surprised to see Tb was in there as we didnt spot one. Cant remember the previous logs (ie between the 16th (when the TB was dropped and 20th whenwe found it) saying a TB had been collected or even the cache had been visited.
Could this be another case of a missing TB? (see my log for my first find this weekend - Centre of the Universe). We have to all get better at logging these things.
Anyway, didnt log the TB as taken (or seen) but did log one in. Hope this one decides to stick around!
