I'm in SA for the leap day Mega, some caching and a restful 5 day holiday. Let's see how that rest goes in the middle of so much new caching grounds!!! Today is day 2 and my Adelaide to Yorke Peninsula day.I gave this a really good look but had no luck finding a cache. I can't recall why I added this to the list now, but suspect it interested me given what I found when there. Although I didn't find a cache, I am pleased I stopped to see it for myself. And, I'm more a Mexican than a Mexicant... no more so than today driving with the pain I had from a MVA a month ago, or maybe I'm just stubborn as it broke me hard a few times today but I made it!
Visiting Adelaide to attend The Great Leap Forward. This is my first visit to the Southern parts of Australia. We worked on the Geo Arts - Barossa, Unicorns, Anna Tommy and other cachers. We signed caches a UNICORN to save space on logs.A great range of caches and really enjoying my trip down here. TFTC
Out and about after the One day Mega and an early morning event we are heading up to the Barossa for a day of adventure in the geoarts.Caching with and signing as the group 'Unicorns' and having a great day.TFTCache Freddo and Family
On a road trip with geo friends from QLD for The Great Leap Year Forward Mega 2024.It was a fun, action-packed day, with many cachers teaming up to gather geo art and various other caches along the trails. Our logs in this area were signed as team UNICORNS to spare room on the log sheets.A special thank you to all cache owners for placing such good caches and the ongoing maintenance on them. Your efforts are a credit to the geocaching community and gave us many smilie faces on our map
I doubt it is still here, I searched for longer than I should have. Obvious small pile of rocks here, but no container------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Quick trip to SA for the leap year mega, just spent one night in SA but managed to get everything I was after. I focused on my missing counties, oldies, challenges and virtuals, though I did also stop for some Wherigo's and Letterboxes on the way, despite these types being massively cheapened by the massing spamming of them. Any Wherigo that is 'real' gets a FP from me now, but of course most are not. Any Letterbox with a real custom stamp in it (and not just a $1 set from a toyshop) also gets a FP.....I dont think I have had to use a single FP since introducing that rule.
After completing the Unicorn mystery series and turning a good amount of the PSA series into smiley's, Jolly0, Peas&CarrotsForever, Geo-Cleo and I headed for home, not before finding one more cache..than another..and another... We pulled up. In the dark. I saw the surroundings and as someone with arachnophobia, there was no chance I was getting out the car! I watched from afar and the cache was found and log signed! ....It wasn't until later that Jolly0 directed me to the Description of this cache, and that confirmed my spidey senses! Glad I listened to my instincts TFTC AussieGal88 South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Let's show the rest of the Geocaching world what Australia is made of at The Great Leap Forward!
We were on the way home after dark when AussieGal88 realised she only needed 2 more to beat her PB for the day, so Jolly0 obliged and turned off the highway to get this one. TFTC
Just because its getting a little dark doesnt me you stop looking for caches!! I swear there is a horse with no name around here somewhereHeading home with AussieGal88 and Peas&CarrotsForever after a fun day searching for Unicorns and Premiers and a tasty BBQ lunch.AussieGal88 wouldnt get out of the Ute to look for this cache because of a chance meeting with a spider TFTC Freddo and FamilyKeep smiling
It’s wet and miserable in Adelaide this morning so no bike ride for me……..instead, why not head North for a day trip and see what caches I can find along the way. At least there’s some blue sky and a bit of sunshine peeking through
OMG thoughts of sheer hell when I pulled up here, this could have been so much worse but thankfully a quick find, stamp and return

That was not as unpleasant as I expected when I pulled up here. Thank goodness it isn’t one of those BBB’s I have been avoiding.
Lots of little green men thriving in the spring. Road still dodgy but passable in little Mazda. Northern entrance would probably be better option. Quick find with good coords. Cheers.
Good find little to the left of co-ords

Headed over to Moonta today, to do some family stuff, and to knock off a few caches! This was a quick find on the way. TFTC
Feels like I entered the twilight zone, driving down this track. The property seems to be permanently closed. These weird trees seem to be doing quite well, though Still, it felt like a hillbilly would jump out of the bushes so I logged the cache and zoomed back out to the highway

Definitely an adventure when we tried this one yesterday with the caravan in tow. The dry weather road was still a little wet towards the end of the road with definitely no where to turn around a 16m rig. Whoops! Returned today with extra eyes, but still sign of the treasure. Placed new container with approval of CO. (And there’s no need to get prickled to make the find) On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird, Liz & Bruce. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Freddo
Find #5405 at 14:55.
Find #5405 at 14:55.
Found while caching Geoart ‘Magical Unicorns’ from Parham with Wollaston and Liz&Bruce.
We attempted this cache yesterday and pulled the pin after about 5 minutes of searching figuring we must just be tired. Deciding to keep on driving down the track with our caravan in tow probably wasn’t the best decision for the day either. Recent rains and a low spot spelt a big boggy patch to get through. With nowhere to turn back, Geohubby took a big breath and I hung onto my seat as we engaged 4x4 on the shiny new Geomobile wishing we had the same on the towable. Into the the mud we charged, got kicked from side to side and changed the colour of our wheels and the sides of our car and van to match the track but out the other side we came and heaved a big sigh of relief we weren’t in need of a tow rope.
Today we revisited with our travelling companions Liz&Bruce to attempt a second look. No joy so a call to the CO confirmed the container was missing and we could replace it and keep the location on the game board.
The adventure didn’t end there as we were all keen to see the muddy track we had towed our beautiful new van and car through yesterday and decided on the spot that while the mud was still on the car from yesterday we would drive though it again and snap a picture of the mess we had made.
Thanks to the many hands and minds taking time to set out and maintaining hides and showing us your special part of the world

Thanks for the cache Freddo. Caching senses right off today. Wandered in circles. Finally found it. In good condition
Heading over to the Yorke Peninsula for the weekend with clare007...
Had to stop here on the way to turn my blue sad face into a smile...
I wasn't sure if this was going to be a success or an epic failure like last time I visited this cache location...
Today the cache was quickly found and no climbing through the cactus...
No plate sized, tiger striped bird-eating tarantula spiders either
I remember visiting here with my family on the way from the South East to visit my cousins at Corny Point...I have a photo somewhere of me in my late teens standing in front of a large cactus...not far away was the Lion Park too...that was an adventure...
It's sad the cactus garden has gone a bit wild and looks like it could do with some TLC...
The property is for sale and I believe has been for some time...
It would be nice to see it again as it once was...
Thanks for the cache and the trip down Memory Lane Freddo
I will add the photo if I can find it

Nice spot! I remember coming here as a young fella! Sad to see it all closed down
Lovely day to be out and about using Geocaching as a guide. Finished our harvest work at Viterrra and now enjoying some relaxing time on YP. Little deviation today to Parham and Port Wakefield bakery.

Today, the objective was *The Sad Fisher* series on the top of Yorke Peninsula. I first had a few hours to do some solo geocaching, visiting Port Arthur, Clinton and a few other points of interest on the top of Yorke Peninsula's hills. I then caught up with AnyMules, Trigger_Fish, and hevwalker, and we then spent the next 3.5 hr trying to keep motivation whilst power trailling the Sad Fisher. We then headed to Kadina for a late lunch and a few geocache visits, and then on to Wallaroo and nearby North Beach. As it got dark, we headed south-west for some 4WD along some beach tracks, and then back towards Kadina for a fast dinner. Willamulka was our final destination of the day (at least while I was with the group), before I returned back to my car at Kulpara, and made the late night drive home.
This area certainly felt like Mexico . I didn't realise these were previously cactus gardens until reading it in the description, and it got mentioned later in the day by Trigger_Fish and the crew. It is a shame that they had to close. A cool area though. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Freddo and Family for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. No tiger striped bird-eating tarantula spiders seen today, thankfully!

Day 188 (Wednesday 4th) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Pt Wakefield today. A total of 4 for the day and 3727 for the trip. TFTC
Working on a replacement for this cache. The new cache will be placed next trip north.
After an extensive search found bits that looked like they belonged to a cache but not the actual cache.
Found by the old cactus theme park I frequented as a kid. Thanks for the travel bug.
I learned early on I couldn’t stop at every cache I drove past on the way to my destinations. However I was very surprised I had never stopped at this one. TFTC
Out on a lovely day with Mr Cupcake and IcingOnTheCupcake. Signed log as MIG. TFTC.
A last minute trip that was purely made due to there being a CITO at Minlaton, off I went caching at a few stops along the way from Adelaide, collecting a few of the T.O.Y caches.
Arrived at the event for the evening to meet some lovely people from different parts of the world. We chatted and shouted so many stories around culture and the differences between countries, lots of random caching experiences and as well just some random conversations. After the event I had planned to do some of the geo art further south. I was soon joined by team GBS and what legends they are, some amazing people and they went guns blazing along the trails.
From 7-12 we found just over 210 caches. The trail is in very poor condition and probably needs a maintenance run in the near future. Some of the caches are broken or just a log book.
Day 2 I woke up and did some local caching before the CITO. The CITO was fantastic with 4 large bags being collected. I soon said my good byes and targeted the rest of the T.O.Y series along the eastern coast line. All the caches in the series are all in good condition.
Then I farted for the event back in Adelaide by mid day. Overall a total of 255 caches for an overnight trip and some long time caching friends made.
Thanks to all the Cache owners for their placements
Sorry for the generic log.

Out this way with Goodlook & CPwanderer.
We were here completing the nearby geo-art.
Somehow in my travels I'd managed to miss this one.
I found & signed this one just as the geo-mobile completed a u-turn.
Thanks for the quick trip to Mexico Freddo

A glorious day for a trip to Mexico thankfully no rattlers seen here today but something was definitely rustling in the cacti a good reminder!! TFTC Freddo
Am a Mexican did
Did found cache pretty quickly then
Did go chasing errant pooch then
Did SL and took a bendy pencil. TYFTC but changed cache container out for a much smaller one as original was 1/3 full of water and had a hole in basd. I apologise for size difference but it was all I had left after a few days if cache maintenance other people caches.
And yes I did get spider webbed..and who is a phobe.??!!

On our way with caching buddy Ismartis to Port Wakefield for a couple of days to earn points for the planetary pursuit souvenirs. Had a great day with only one DNF, lots of letterbox finds, plus a few others, a bit of 4x4, night caching, a beautiful moon, finishing off with a nice meal at the pub. Then to the motel recoup and plan for day two.
Found at the prickly farm that has intrigued me ever since going past as a small kid.

Was heading past on the way to working further north and saw this on the map and needed a driving break so the decision to stop and make a find was easy. Drove in, parked nearby and started the search and found the cache in the last place I looked. Signed log, replaced and continue on with the journey north.

Owl's normal caching companions were off on a frolic of their own, so she decided to edge herself closer to her mega milestone with some power trails. And other caches in between as they showed up on the map. There were going to be words at this cache, but the CO was kind (even though the ants weren't), so the words will be sweet and nice.
A quick find here. I was sure I'd see a snake here but no luck for me today.
Signed and replaced.
Thanks Freddo and Family

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
The caches I’ve found in Australia so far have for the most part all been in great condition. Keep up the good work.
Signed and replaced.
Thanks Freddo and Family

Our day 6 started nice and early after some late night planning trying to identify the power trails which would support our cache finding mission [^]. We headed north(ish) of the City and were ripping around the countryside collecting smiley faces .
I had been eyeing off an interstate trip for some time now and made plans to head to SA to power through the geoart trails over here . I roped in my geo buddy Krabiboy to join me and we set about solving [?] caches and highlighting Jasmer caches that aren't available over in WA. Our adventure took us from the CBD over to the Yorke Peninsula and then back across to the Murray Bridge area . We were relentless in chasing down the finds and picked up as many as we could in the week that we had available. Due to the park and grab nature of our visit, the log books which weren't able to accommodate the ink stamp we had made were signed with the initials 'jk'! Fave points will be awarded for those caches which are considered awesome
A massive thanks here to Freddo for placing this cache here and for tempting us to venture over to this area. Cheers!
jinta29 found your cache Once upon a time in Mexico today. This is my find #7931 and find #191 today. I was able to get my name in the log book here and we replaced the cache as we found it. Thanks once again Freddo for placing this and bringing us to this part of the world!
