Out for a walk this morning so thought I would gab this cache whilst I was out. Lovely area but pretty windy up that way today. Found in the first place I looked. Thanks for the cache and showing me another view.
12:54 FITW ObnoxiousSpaceCatWent on a replacing mission with OSC. He had gotten in touch with CO and confirmed that a new one is needed. We parked up on Summit Rd and came down here, and then proceeded to go all the way down along Hidden Valley to bottom of Bowenvale Valley. Turned out a wee bit steeper than expected. Great views from the rocky outcrop. And even though there was rain forecast from.about niw on, we got lucky and stayed completely dry.The coordinates I got were S43 35.511 E172 39.592Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, Grandalf!#10028
Replaced with ivss_xx with permission from CO. Obvious place about 4m from 0. Photos sent to CO. Good to go here.
Took a crack at this one but I wasnt optimistic. Sadly it may well be gone.
Im pretty confident I found its hidey hole. Did a check around the bush and the rocks below. Hopefully the next cacher has a replacement container on hand. Hate to see a well aged cache get archived.
DNF
I too could not find it. I climbed all over the rocks, peered under bushes, waded through grass and cursed at the sky every time I found a likely place for the cache but came out empty handed.

Had a lovely walk up hidden valley but can't find the cache. Will have to come up again another day
Located with Ricardinho More fossicking in bushes & crevices for us today
A cool walk up the Port Hills, stunning views on this walk Bit chilly with the wind, but def worth the effort

A cool little spot, nice view from here. Last cache of this little walk, just need to walk back down now. Cache is missing its lid, so replaced upside down, as I found it. TFTC Grandalf.
RG72 and I are in Chch for the long weekend to catch up with family and celebrate a few birthdays. And with the weather forecast not looking great for much of it, we went out late this morning for a walk in the hills.
Nothing too taxing, just 4km covered with a bit of elevation thrown in of course, but 5 caches targeted and all found in pretty good nick. Nice views too. Thanks all.

Out with busy paws and Geomum007 enjoying the walk and views to get to this cache. What a great day and happily found the cache, all good. Thanks for the cache Grandalf.
Out with some other cachers today for a short trip with us all gaining some caches that were wanted for one reason or another. This was a beautiful spot! Thanks for bringing us here. TFT C.
What a beautiful spot. Thanks for taking me there! Lots of gorgeous lambs on route and a view to remember. TFTC found with Coconuts3 and geomum007.
Breathtaking views! Quickly found, on a walk down from summit road. TFTC!
Parked up on the Summit Road and walked down. What a lovely spot with great views. The cache was a quick find. TFTC.
TFTC. To nice to be sitting around so decided to head for the hills and have a wander.
This was the second track of the day.
Such a contrast to the other side of the hill.
Nice spot to stop and take in the views.
Cache in excellent condition.
Thanks Grandalf.

Lovely day for a walk. Cache found eventually. Perseverance in the tangles! Thanks for the cache!
Glorious spot on my walk today. Took a short while to find and was a bit scratchy! TFTC x
The last time we were in the area, nearly a year ago, I hadn't realised this cache was so close else I would have had a look for it.
After our walk along the summit road, we started to walk down Huntsbury track until SW realised that the track was open to 4WDs and we could drive all the way down to Huntsbury where we had a DNF to avenge. So he went back for the car and we drove to about 120m from the cache . Another cache he had already found on a solo trip. Good to get two Grandalf caches today, and this was an easy solve too . I needed to go get some caches for the day, and I also wanted to get a bit of a walk in, so I decided to go up the Huntsbury track, but find some quick nearby grabs on the way, while I was in the hood, given it's so far from my end of town!!
I had almost gotten this one last week from the other cache, but I'd already walked so much, and I was already so exhausted that I decided it wasn't really worth it. So came today, detouring round to make this grab.
Saw a likely GZ from a wee way away - and this spot actually still had a style - unlike most the other locations I'd been fence jumping today!!
Cache was quickly spotted and signed amongst some nice views

Finally got around to picking up this one. Glorious spot on a warm spring day. TFTC.
After finding the two towers I carried on to find this cache. Great walk and an amazing sunset as I was signing the log. TFTC
Went sailing straight past yesterday having got Two Towers, so went for another run up there today to complete this one. Found easily, but you wouldn't want to fluff around on the rocks too long! Great view today, lovely day. Thanks for making my daily runs up the hills more interesting
After the worthy find of The Two Towers we continued on and quickly had our hands on the bonus cache fairly quickly. Was an awesome spot and took some photos to show Mrs Survey Base. Will have to return and make a loop to claim the other caches in the valley as my mate was a bit tired and I wasn't keen on carrying him down. Thanks Grandalf
Went analog on this one. As I walked pass I thought hmm, suspisions confirmed when retrieved coordinates from Two Towers. Kept GPS in pocket and found cache quickly. Watching NW rains over alps. TFTC. SL, took photo
After a dnf at Two Towers I gave a logical place the once over and came up wth a smiley. Put a smile on my dial too. Thanks Grandalf.
Continued up from the Two Towers with the magic coords. Cache quickly located signed and now heading back to the valley floor. TFTC
Second time at this spot today. I stopped here on my way to Two Towers to have a look down the valley to familiarise myself with its terrain expecting this cache to be down there somewhere! Easily found. TFTC.
Went out for a late afternoons reccie to see if I could pin down Two Towers. Saw this likely spot and found without co-ords....took German Geocoin to move along - has languished here long enough! Someone has tied an orange tag on the hiding spot...left it there as not sure if it is there for a reason, but it certainly draws attention to the hidey hole!!...Thanks for the cache. Now for Two Towers!...
Nice spot for a cache, we all sat for a while and enjoyed the view. In our unsuccessful hunt for “The Two Towers” cache the other day we ended up down in the “Hidden Valley” and apart from not finding the cache it was a real pleasant place to visit, Thanks
Early morning run up from Bowenvale valley, along the tops and back down Huntsbury Spur.
Finally got this one after cracking two towers last weekend.....
Nice wee spot that Hidden Habitat. TN Left German Geocoin.

Starting the downhill run of "Grandalf's Loop". Took a chance and scouted around without the coordinates, hoping to avoid more climbing - lucky this time! TFTC
Found with EliotB this afternoon, who walked straight to it without the coordinates that we later picked up from 2 Towers.... TFTC
I've passed this lovely spot so many times, little did I know until cracking Two Towers that it was concealing a cache. Nice hiding spot, thanks Grandalf.
At this point we were working on Two Towers but my curiosity got the better of me. Surely a cache would could should be here! Well well well, what's hidden here! Really thrilled to locate this cache, signed log & off to Two Towers. (#410, 4/7)
#606 (3/4 on a morning on the Port Hills). Got the coords from Two Towers on Sept 9 last year. Time was too short to find look for it then and it's taken a few months to getting round to finding it. An initial search failed to find it, there were some bluffs close by, so descended them a little, but I didn't think it would be down there. Persistence eventually paid off (trusty walking stick came up trumps again). TFTC.
Bonus!! Nearly pitch black when we found this cache on the way back to the car. Not too hard even in the dark. TNLN. TFTC.
[nice spot have stopped here many times oblivious of the cache, many thanks +red die & -blue die] the direct route from Two Towers may not be the best way to go
A bit of a stroll from Two Towers, only a few MTB's to dodge and a muggle couple sheltering behind some rocks from the chilling wind. The cache was a nice easy find after Two Towers and looks to be in good condition considering the 8 months since last find. TNLN Thanks,
This wasn't too bad to go to after comleteing Two Towers. Didn't make the mistake that the others write of, and following the track it was an easy stroll. The cache was quickly located, and the views admired, before heading back down the the car, and then off for a very late lunch. TNLN, TFTC.
I was wanting to make my 400th cache find a Grandalf cache, and I wasnt going to do anymore caches until I had done it so I went up three times to try and find the two towers cache,I checked lots and lots and lots of places but still didnt get the right place, Bugger, but I did stumble upon This cache, and its a Grandalf cache so at least my 400th is a Grandalfs cache lol so I will just have to do some more homework to get the two towers,,,cheers Bo
Found at 6:35pm on the last day of the year. Straight lined it from the Two Towers which in hind sight was a mistake. Initially searched in the wrong location being miss lead by the title. TNLN. Enjoyed the slight breeze. TFTC.
Found the towers late at night
so could not get up here,
But another climb on a beautiful day,
deserves an ice cold beer!
A celebration was to be enjoyed
to party off your socks.
For in the cache we did find,
the keys to Moneydorks moneybox!

Made the same mistake as jf2004 - a nasty "as the crow flies" route made for one puffed Rincewind! Once there, however, it was an easy find. Swapped the UFD TB for an Evil Micro Geocoin (after the somewhat evil trek up the valley), and left the Moneydork's Keys TB as a well earned reward for the next to find.
It was a beautiful night for a walk. Plenty of moonlight, and the dog loved it too. TNLN, Thanks.
Came here 'as the crow flys' from Two Towers - I don't recommend the route! Left Diabetes TB
I found Two Towers a week ago, but I waited till today to get this one because I was going to get some other caches in the area. An easy find.

Found after Two Towers, but I think I picked a bad approach. What a slog. Cheers G.
What a lovely morning for a hike to this hidden gem! A magnificent view over the city from here. After enjoying the view I head cross country towards View of the Valley for my trifecta. Cheers Gav [1213]

just found the the two towers the sun was going down so we decide to go for it quickly, about 100m away from it the GPS stopped working and it was dark. we kept going and we decided to head back then a saw an awsom land mark in the day time it would have been a wanderful place to sit down and admire the vie so i went an look around and the first place i looked i found it. Thx Grandolf
928 After the long search for Two Towers this was a nice easy cache. Great views. TNLN DS8300
This was the first on a three cache circut from Bowenvale ave around sugarloaf and back.
I must have come so close to this while searching for twin towers a while back, I am sure I stood on this very spot.
Thanks, Grandalf.
Cheers,
S.T.
-2 Geocoins and A TB I have had before, but was so big he was sitting out side the cache and a little exposed.

1275. Well after Two Towers this was the next cache of the day. But we had left the pack some distance away and had to go back for that first. So let's just head straight for the cache - this is indeed a very pleasant valley! We weren't trying to make anything easy for ourselves today so even this one became a bit of a mission but it was a lovely afternoon and it was doing us good to be in the fresh air so we kept on and the cache was right where it was supposed to be!
We took a handful of geocoins and left a Travel Bug that is a bit large to fit into the container so you will find him firmly attached!
Again, Grandalf, thanks!

Easy find after Two Towers. It's a bit windy up here today but I found a nice sheltered place to sit adjacent to the cache whilst I filled out the log. + Stars and Stripes keyring. - Super Trooper TB. T4TC and the exercise Grandalf.
Found Two Towers and continued to find this one, 3rd found of 4 in the valley today. Had a great spot beside the cache for morning tea break with a wonderfull reclining natural rock seat. + super trooper TB, - highlighter.
