This one too me a couple of goes to complete. WP2 took a bit of searching, and for some reason the final location was not being my friend.
When I found to today I wondered how I had missed it on previous locations.
Thanks for a great cache around a nice park.

Very very pleased to claim this smiley today. For some reason I have found this to be quite a difficult cache. It took me several attempts at WP 2 and the final but today I finally finished it. Thanks for setting this one up TFTC
Caching in the Waikato today with Team Welsh and Bennett24. After lunch in the Hamilton Gardens we decided to do this 2006 multi which surprisingly none of us had attempted before.
The first waypoint was a nice quick find and we appreciated the tear-off papers with the next coordinates on. We wandered (rambled?) from there to waypoint 2 which gave us a bit more of a search before we spotted the hide. Time was a bit limited so we chose to drive to waypoint 3, then a walk to the fourth. Access was restricted a bit here with a small fallen tree, but with one of us behind and the others on the other side we had no problem spotting and retrieving the 'container'. We were a bit concerned this one was damp and may have been unreadable, but had no issues with that. Then we were back in the car and off to the Final. We spread out a bit to search for this one, and were pleased when we spotted the clue that the hide was near. Nice to have picked up such an old multi, and so nicely maintained too. Adding a Favourite point. Thanks.

I have always been keen to do this multi and not sure why I haven't tried to do it before now. Today, KC, B24 and I were all in Hamilton so we took the opportunity to do this as a group. All WPS are there and we had fun with WP4 due to a fallen tree but it all worked out perfectly. Nice to do this as a group as it's always more fun with company. Many thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
Looked at doing this cache before when in the area but never quite had enough time. Today after lunch at the Hamilton Gardens with kiwicouple and TeamWelsh we headed over to the park to have a bit of a ramble. Was surprised at the size of the park here and we even drove to a couple of the waypoints before heading back to the final. Found after a short hunt around.
Thanks for the really well maintained cache, all good here.

Wow.....I love the word Ramble...
much more friendly than Hike!
So I was pleased to have time on my recent visit to Hamilton to complete this adventure.
It must be one of the oldest caches I have ever found.
I quite enjoy multis....
A change from all the trads and Adventure Labs I have been doing lately.
Thanks for all the effort it must have taken to set this up and maintain it.

A great puzzle which must have taken some effort to create, and wow, been in place 15 years. Worth a favourite.
Solving this was spread over two nights…. We ended up somehow ending up with a wrong sheet (didn’t know at time) so took quite some time at one of the waypoints getting more and more puzzled…. With the help from the CO came back tonight to finish off this great puzzle.

Thanks to feedback from Kibathelion, I identified that the tear-off sheets at waypoint two were wrong.
It appears that a switch was accidently made when the old container was removed, and the paperwork reverted to a version of many years ago.
New paper inserted today, and a check made of the intermediates and final. This 15 year old demonstration puzzle cache lives on!

Out with buzzybb & geopup. This is geopups local walking spot. Took us 2 nights as got the wrong info at one of the WP but CO has sorted that now. Fun ramble. Got to the final WP & was a little confused but a wander around & hint items were found & so was the cache. Tftc
A big congratulations to knotobsessed for persevering to the finish when there was some wear and tear needing attention, and for passing on such helpful information.
The depleted tear-off sheets have been replaced at the first spot, and an old (2017) box removed from nearby the second spot, removing confusion for the next searcher.
The water seal was replaced at the final also, so all is ship-shape and ready for the next hunt.

Phew! What a cache! Deserves a favourite point for variety and how long it's lasted!
Having come up for a wedding (which is today) I decided to do some local caches yesterday and came across this park. Got to stage 3 and was having trouble searching in the growing darkness, so called it a night and headed home. Decided there was time before the wedding to finish this 1 off if I could so back I went to stage 3....searched...tossed up going and recalculating...and then...duh! Found it Sweet...on to the 4th stage...managed to get to the 5th point successfully enough and then sat and scratched my head for a while as I could only find half the solution. About to pack it in when suddenly...ah ha! Sometimes a different angle is all that's needed
Way point 1 is in need of some TLC, but note sent to CO yesterday. Other way points seem to be all good though from there on out
TFTC! Definitely worth keeping it going for a whole lot longer if you can coz it was a lot of fun

Phew, my first multi. Took me 1-2 hours with geopooch who got a huge walk. A lot of bugs made a home at one of the waypoints so I cleaned that out. Final was a bit tricky as GZ was out for me, widening the search gave me a successful location of the final. Thanks for the ramble. The tuis were awesome.
Could not find it on the first try but came back to it. Thanks for our first multi tftc
It's been a little while since I last came out this way so it was nice to finally get my stuff together for another raid on the Waikato. Managed to team up with Davidson Clan mid morning and suffice to say we covered quite a bit of Hamilton today.
A bit of a rarity this one - fluked the final after just reading the last hint and having a bit of a wander around.... Suffice to say the cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to a good hint and a straight forward placement. Cheers radionut50 & Butterfly Lady, TFTC

We have gone down to Alert 3 in our Covid-19 lockdown, and Geocaching is now allowed, so time to re-enable the caches.
DISABLING THIS CACHE TO DISCOURAGE HUNTING DURING THE COVID-19 LOCK-DOWN. NEW LOGS AFTER TODAY MAY BE DELETED. THE CACHE WILL BE BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Wahoo! Turned a blue into a smile today, always a good thing After our DNF visit in April we were grateful to see the CO visit and replace (twice) so wanted to get back and collect. N and G Ratbag had accompanied us on the first trip and was back with us today, for the team effort. The hint for this was very welcome and the final seems to be well placed to avoid muggles. We had fun on the wander around the park the first time and enjoyed the variety of hides. Tftc and for the new final!
Finally found it with MSP Phoenix. Tried nine months ago without success but this time discovered it with a good team effort.
FINALLY! TFTC. After many (>6) attempts at the final and a year overseas, I came back to attempt this cache again. Firstly revisiting the stage suggested then again going bush with my GPS boucing around i tossed it in and went rogue with my guess at distance. A few minutes later, boom cache in hand! But no pen.... returned today with pen to sign log.
After the recent series of missing finals on this cache, it was worthwhile confirming this replacement has at least lasted a while....
Checked today, and it is there, waiting for the first finder.

After seeing Buttonboo’s frustrated log of yesterday, it was time to check the final again, and, gosh – it was gone AGAIN.
It is time for a change. After the cache being listed since 2006, the location for the final hide has progressively become more and more exposed as the Council improves the garden, and with the locals tossing their bottles around, the Council cleaners appear regularly… taking our little box each time.
We tried changing to a hanging micro at the final location a while back, but within a week the council took the whole tree away!
This time we have reverted to a more permanent hanging micro, and in a different area, around 35m from the previous spot. This is away from the reformed garden, and out of reach of the rubbish collectors.
So – for those wanting to rectify a previous DNF you need to go to the last intermediate stage again to re-read the information there - it has been updated to point to the new final location. The hint has also been updated, do have a look there also.

I've all but given up on this find. The GPS keeps jumping around and I can't get a good fix on it and I swear that garden is getting barer and barer each time I head in to find the cache. I looked under every plant and could only get to 3m from GZ before the GPS jumped away again. It doesn't help that cold wind and rain keep blowing in making this search unpleasant today.
I don't know if the cache is still here but after hunting for it for over 6 months I don't plan on coming back again unless I see some finds logged proving that it really is here. Pity because I did enjoy my initial walk to find the final coordinates early last spring.

Checked out the final today, and it was missing.
This cache has been in place for nearly 13 years, and was laid as a special event multi-cache giving searchers practice at several types of locating techniques. That objective remains, so we would like to keep all the stages as they are, however the final has been problematic with 3 or 4 small shifts needed to avoid muggle pickups.
This time we have inserted a temporary small final (a mint tin) in the same spot as the last for a while to see how it survives.. and tuned the hint a bit. We will need to look at a re-design of the last stage if this goes missing too quickly.

Arrrrgh !!!! Successful all the way to the final, and then no luck Such a shame on such a clever and well constructed multi. The final seemed to be in a more public space than needed, if we used the bearing correctly. 180 degrees around seemed more discreet. Anyway, we searched and searched everything that wasn't flax in a large area, using the bearing as best we could but sadly no luck. We were starting to attract attention from passers by, including a horse, so we called it a day. The MSP half isn't fond of multis at the best of times so not best pleased with me for choosing this! N and G Ratbag said he enjoyed the walk but I think that might be an overstatement! Anyway, we'll be back another day as it won't beat us
Would you believe it – while wandering past the cache a week after replacing the final with a hanging bison tube, and editing the cache page – we saw the city gardeners have tidied up by chopping out the tree!
The bison only had a 1 week life, and no finds! All nearby trees have been trimmed way up high, so that idea has to go.
A quick look on the ground for a possibly dropped tube then turned up the last 200ml Sistema box, still hidden in the plants – so the cache page has been edited, and we are back in business with a box for a final.
We will see how long this lasts, maybe this 12 year old cache will need a re-location of the final to a different area soon.

Checked out the final, and sadly it was missing again - some areas of the park seem to collect rubbish from the crowd a lot, then the good cleaner-uppers pick up every foreign object including our cache box..
Sadly the solution is to follow the trend of all new caches, and after 12years of life, downsize this one to a micro.. which is easier to make inconspicuous.
The location is the same, but you are now looking for a small black bison tube hanging.
The cache description and hint has been updated.
NOTE: SEE OUR NEXT MAINTENANCE LOG FOR FURTHER CHANGES WITH THIS CACHE

I had another go looking for this cache and I found something that didn't bode well for a find.
Well, today is my last dot day (apart from 29 Feb but I'll worry about that in 2020). I needed a cache but Tauranga is more or less tapped out apart from extreme ones which, after a week of flu, I didn't feel like tackling. I'd done the hard work for this one a couple of weeks ago so, armed with a hint, I came nack today...to find the place packed with baseballers. No problem. On with the hi-vis vest and start picking up rubbish. Found the cache after about 5 minutes. Signed and returned whilst picking up more rubbish. Covered more securely with natural. TFTC.
And this is why I don't like multis. This one was very enjoyable up until the where, having lifted every skirt, I concluded the cache was gone. CO please check.
I've had a fairly good crack at this cache to no avail. Tried all the skirts I could find, widened my search, slimmed it down again and gave up, I'm working tonight and need to get some sleep do will come back another day with my GPS to see if I have more luck with that.
In Hamilton today for a meeting at 4pm organized my week so I could come a little early and get a bit of caching in beforehand. A beautiful sunny afternoon this os much better than work.
Managed to get this one after a short search at GZ good to turn this into a smiley.

. Over for another day of picking up Hamilton caches and what a beautiful day it was. Came to this one first and did the walk. Only a few people about but all with dogs, obviously a popular spot. All waypoints were good but the ones I thefirst WP are very damp. Great walkand not too hard. Got to the final and managed to work out the twist but it still took awhile to find this one. Had almost given up and paf a local cachers and even they weren't sure and had had to visit a couple of times to sign this one off. Went back for one more look in a nice area but one that I had searched and managed to spot it yay glad to sign the log. TFTM
Had fun, the clues were interesting. The hint for the final stage, "lift the skirts", isn't the best/most helpful description.
We went on a walk this evening through the park, and had noted this remains a lonely cache with no logs since repair- so a quick check was made on the waypoint devices - all present and correct.
After noting the DNF log, we checked out the cache and found the final was missing, so replaced it. We then checked the intermediate points and found that two of them were missing also! This is the worst damage for this cache in its 11 years of life!
All the missing items have been replaced, some small changes in type of container, so the listing and hints have been updated.

Helping Mod22h try and find this one. She said she was struggling so I, the cache master, helped her find it. Easy find by the way Mod22h. TFTC.
It didn't take us too long but Big butts in a can found the final cache. Damn it! I'll have to up my game. TFTC!
Out and about with the kids in the school holidays on the 1st day we have been able to go caching. Today we were finding caches that we have previously tried but did not finish for some reason or another. I have tried to find the final on this one for some time and as this was my third attempt was not willing to give up. After getting a nudge at a recent event I attended looked further afield and with help from big butts in a can finally completed this cache. Thank you for a fun adventure at a park I lived next to as a child. TFTC.
1483 Had a ramble around the park a few months ago but no luck with final. Too many muggles around at the time. Back tonight to see if I could finish the job. Had lost my notes but remembered where last clue was. Went and collected and on the way to GZ I saw it had moved from last time. So back to check and realized I had written the coordinates down wrong. Now back to where I was previous. This time I had time. Took me awhile. Lifted lots of skirts all of which ended in nothing. Eventually I tried one last and was rewarded with the prize. Tftramble.
Yay, nice to finally tick this great multi off. We did all but the final a month or two back and were really impressed by the quality of the various waypoints. Having seen the Cache owners comment following our last attempt we were spurred on to try again. Turns out we were a few meters short on our projection and by increasing a search area we were able to find the final location today. Thanks for this high quality multi cache.
Called in and checked the final today. I found the Sept 2013 box, It was a bit damp, but in the correct place. The last log entry was squirrel nutcase.
Reading the logs, I suspect some are having problems with the technique needed for a projection to the final.

We had a crack at this great multi and really enjoyed the variety of the stages, particularly stage four. We hadn't seen much of Resthills park and was amazed by its size and the number of Softball pitches that are stationed here. Unfortunately we weren't able to locate the final and the last log had us wondering if its moved.
On Friday I decided that this might be a good muggle-free cache to attempt during business and school hours. The second waypoint took a bit of finding but the rest of the intermediate waypoints didn't take too long. I enjoyed the concept of the strips of paper and the variety of the hides. I spent quite some time searching for the final before eventually leaving since several people had started to pass by. Today I went back as I noticed the new Alphabet Soup cache nearby. I took a compass to assist with the offset waypoint, which worked out better than using my phone as it lead me fairly accurately to the final location. After lifting a few skirts I spotted a camouflaged container out in the open. I took it several metres away to complete the log and found that the log was blank other than the stamement "replacement cache." I replaced it under the nearest sufficient skirt to where I found it but that might not necessarily be where it started and given that it's had at least one find since the replacement cache was placed there may still be another one around there somewhere...
Out with Gap (of Fap and Gap) and a couple of kids. We managed to escape rainy Rotorua... and the Waikato was marginally better...
Admittedly, this one has taken ages to complete over a few visits. The first time we rambled... we came to a standstill because there were kids and sports everywhere. This time, I was lucky enough to have Gap (a former finder) who knew where to steer us. Unfortunately, he was not so helpful at the final, and this took an incredible amount of search time. Finally located the cache after lifting a lot of skirts... TFTC.

Found the first four nice and easy, The final one was a bit tricky but found it in the end. Used my smartphone for GPS so a little inaccurate but did the job.
Couldn't even find the second one, so many crunchy sticks on the ground, and I could hear a muggle in the house newxt to the fence so I gave up
Wandered through the park to do some maintenance, but this Saturday morning was a particularly busy sporting day, so opportunities were not easy to find.
Could not spend any time on a check for the final, so popped a replacement box in anyhow. Replenished waypoint 1 tear-offs, but did not get to waypoint 2 - will update that one shortly.

Also forgot to say that way point two needs more little instruction notes, we grabbed the last one sorry. Will be back up this way later in the year to have another go
Went on a nice early morning walk through Resthill Park with StefTheVet. Happy to have found the first four way points immediately we searched for the final for quite a while being almost sure to have found the right coords and finally gave up. Must be a tricky hiding place? But thanks for showing us this park...will come back one day
Found the way points fast, but searched for an hour at final location with no luck. will bring gardening gloves next time as I cut my finger on a plant today. Ouch, jone for a band aid now.
After failing to find it back in February, it bought I'd give it another whirl hoping that now it's late autumn the foliage would be less. The foliage was indeed greatly reduced, but it was still a 30 minute search before I was successful - and I found it half by accident when I nearly stood on it. Well worth a favourite point for the enjoyable wander around a lovely park searching for the WPs. TFTC!
Awesome time caching. Found the first ran all over the show for the second could not find but managed to watch the field next door catch on fire. Watched the fire for a while and gave up on the second waypoint! Any hints as we searched and searched and searched!
Yet another park discovered via Geocaching. We made short work of finding all the WPs however finding the final cache was a challenge and after searching at length, we had to retreat as we were already late for a planned get together. Armed with a further hint, we returned today on our way north and soon had the cache in hand. If we had just widened our initial search by approx 1m we would have found it during our first visit TFTC.
Great little cache - probably one of my favourites. Had a nice stroll around the park today and found the waypoints (plenty of papers in each if them). The final prize took me a long time to find and I almost gave up, but I persevered and found it. It was very well hidden. Thanks
Really disappointed here I found all 4 waypoints, and thoroughly enjoyed the walk while doing so. Sadly I don't understand the instructions in WP 4 for finding GZ. I got to the coordinates fine, but i think a compass must be needed for the offset GZ, & my GPS compass doesn't work outside of caching. I tried searching using the clue and distance but ended up in cutty-grass which left me with a very bad cut and bleeding . Will have to try again sometime with a compass, once I've worked out what the WP instructions mean.

Will check this out in a few days, but the dnf text does not match the multi cache stage info, so suspect all is actually in place ok.
Found 4/5 using a cellphone so final cache position couldn't be narrowed down beyond +/- 5m.
Believe final cache has been removed as we discovered a very suitable, but empty hiding place.
Great hunt none the less.

Wasn't planning this one, but when NerdAlert asked for help we set off finding the waypoints all over the park. THe final was the hardest and got there with some help. TFTC
this one took me 4 attempts, 1st waypoint was quick and easy to find, then there was too many people around to continue, day 2, headed straight to the next waypoint, took a bit of searching but soon had it, next was easy to work out, same with the one after that, then I had a problem with the last hint, back home where I got help to work it out, day 3, back to gz, searched everywhere, time to ask someone who had done this cache, yes I was in the right area looking for the right thing, back home and contact CO, yes the cache was missing, now the cache is back so onto day 4, 2 sets of eyes made finding this one a lot easier, so it took a few trips but it was fun all the way, tftc
Replaced the final today, not a crafted hide, just a 450ml click-clack at the moment.
Checked out the first waypoint too, after DNF log asking if a “further afield” search was needed. I confirm it is in the correct location, and was 1.5m from the waypoint indicated on my Garmin Montana today (not the same GPS I used to lay it), so I don’t think a wider search is needed, unless you are using a smartphone as a GPS… There is nothing that matches the hint within 20m, so this one should not be hard to locate.

After receiving a direct note from nufrat, we checked out the final, and - durn - it is missing. That was the most robust waypoint in this multi too!
Disabling for a short time, and I hope to get a temporary final box in place soon. Will work on replacement a permanent final, befitting this multi, but it may be a while before it gets there.

waypoint 1 is there but so were the muggles today in the area I needed to go, so not putting a DNF, I will be back to finish this one
Parked at Te Wananga today, to walk around some local caches, quite a trek, got back to the car just before the rain started. Couldn't find the first waypoint on thi one, concentrated on the area where GPS directed me, wonder if I should have tried further afield.
It took a while to get the bits together, but the missing waypoint is now fixed, and the cache is ready for your search. Apologies to those who have been waiting to complete this one.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
During a walk around the park, we checked the cache waypoints today, and, alas! one is missing.
The cache is therefore disabled until a replacement item can be constructed.

Finally found it! It had been defying us for a while. Resident ant family still there. A pain in the ........ to get out. Being wet wipes.
Thanks for setting up a great multi. The geodog loved exploring a new park. Had a few whoops moments, where we should have read more carefully but we finally got there. Loved the camo jobs.
Another local ticked off. Thanks for all the work that went into this one. All in good order luckily, it sounds like you have been very patient about maintenance. The hardest part was not looking too suspicious-I don't think we were very successful, perhaps we should have borrowed a dog. Left a bug to join the rest-yes, including the ants. Took a turtle as I left mine somewhere else after finding that Celestial Turtle was no longer, but I think it is back now, so maybe back to the Gardens next weekend.
Finally got around to finishing this one up. I had so much fun doing this cache and finding a new park in Hamilton that I've never known about.
did this one in a few stages but found it after going round a bit
definitely an ant family here

We found all the waypoints but could not find the final cache! Searched and searched and then it got too dark Feel free to help us out a bit!
Managed to navigate our way round the four way points only to get completely stumped by the hiding place of the actual cache! Will be going back for another look
Lovely day for a walk, so thought we'd try this new-to-us park. Sooooo many muggles at WP1 but the rest of the park was muggle-free & WPs all good. Ants still in residence Really enjoyed this one, with the usual high standard we've come to expect from BFL/RN50. Took GC to move along. Thanks for the effort in creating this multi.
Tear-offs restocked in waypoint 1.
Checked out final also, yup - lots of ants around it, but this is New Zealand! They don't bite!

Wanted to do a multi together with our doggies. Yes....chooose this one. Most of the part you can leave your dogs offleash.
Hmmm quiet, not exactly when we came. It was full on. No problem to find the caches. WP1 is out of paper, but no problem, cause you need the waypoint. WP2 what a wonderful container. WP 3 all ok. Nice hide for WP4 It wasl full of ants and their babys. up to the final. That was the most difficult one for us, we missed a bit with the bearing. Than noticed something a bit out of place and yeah....that was the final.
Great walk. Left GC and favourite point from us.

Nice afternoon wander with the inlaws.
This place would be pretty busy during softball season.

Great work on this cache, I really enjoyed this one! WP1 needs some more tear off pages. TFTC!
Thanks for fixing WP3. Found WP4 easily, final took a while to find thou. Was just about to give up when I spotted what I was looking for. Left GC.
OK – confirmed there is a new sign, so new puzzle for that stage computed, and new tear-off clues printed and installed. The ramble is back on-line ready for you to follow!
Note though, of you have done the stages up the sign, you will need to go back to the last hide and grab a new tear-off to continue.
Enjoy your rambling !

Sounds like a sign has gone... disabling until a check and update can be made....
Got stuck at WP3 couldn't find the sign, however we did find a cut sign post close to co-ordinates?? Should there be a sign here or is it elsewhere in the park?
Only managed to get half way around before we run outta time. Just letting you know that the WP papers are getting low, (well for the ones we found so far) still got 1 or 2 left so no hurry to replace yet. Great multi so far, will hopefully finish off tomorrow.
Another most excellent multi, what a truly great day for a walk out in the winters sun, TFTC
Called in today and de-watered the box, replaced the log - all ready for finding. Hopefully the kids who got it this time have somewhere else to play now.
Quick walk around the area with Miles, have done with another friend a long time ago but never logged .
Fairly quick solves at way points. Found cache object up side down with some muggle logs inside. Repositioned correctly. Enjoyed the walk. Log totaly wet through.
Cache full of water, Log book hard to open as wet. Has been found be local kids who have put their names in the book, Was in full view. May need to be moved a bit.
