Nope, not today. Looked in all the likely crevasses to no avail. As I live around the corner I will come back often to see if it has been serviced or to try and locate again.

29-Aug-09
We found it, and it is a nice place with a nice view.

I don't know why I didn't saw that this cache is disabled. Therefore I searched quite a while, especially as the rocks nearest to the coordinates were 22m away.

29-Aug-08
Sad No such luck. Spent a good half hour searching (albeit by torch light) but found absolutely nothing. There were no logs lying around either.

Either muggled or fallen into some abyss.

cant find too much work going on so i wish to get this cache removed from my geocaching list

DNF on my last full day in Townsville (on a work trip)

Spent a bit of time looking... no joy

Well I guess it had to happen -- sombody moved the log and without that it would be a matter of moving many many rocks and still with no guarantee of a find so we gave it away.

Caught the 6am ferry across from Maggie to grab some caches before going home, I would have been better to sleep in, 2 DNF's and a find. The only saving grace it that this area is lovely in the morning. The GPS was out for this one and even when resorting to the clue I had no luck.

30-Jul-08
Looked for this one again.I even contacted Mechageek for some guidance. This did not help as I spent a morning and night laying on the ground looking into the holes for the cache.
It has either been muggled or fallen into oblivion.
Thanks for the Hunt.

30-Jul-08
Searched in vain by torchlight at around 7.30pm (perhaps not the best approach for this type of cache), and even the clue did not give me success. I know it is in there somewhere, but I will need to return in daylight before I return to Cairns on Saturday to continue the adventure.

21-Jul-08
found after a very long search was almost lost down between rocks for good replaced is same location but with a few more rocks around it so doesn't go missing again

20-Jul-08
3 attemps, even had another keen set of eyes. No joy.

19-Jul-08
No luck here after 20 minutes of searching by 4 of us.
Certainly no sign of a log. Anyway we enjoyed the icecreams
from the local kiosk.

28-Jun-08
No joy with this one.
Regards Philma.

28-Jun-08
We have been to this location four times in the past ten days searching for the cache. We even had confirmation from another cacher that we were looking in right location but came up empty. Looks like local council have done work recently, putting mulch down in the area. Could have slipped down between rocks.

17-May-08
A nice quick find at 1220hrs after an enjoyable walk from 6k's to the south. Plenty of muggles around today but none near the cache. I managed to sit on top of the cache and have a rest thank to the good clue.

an old chook visited

07-May-08
Easy first find for the day whilst enjoying an early morning bike ride. Half the muggle population of Townsville had the same idea at 0630 hours!!! TFTC.

06-May-08
As I arrived, I spotted a suspicious person at GZ. He came over and said "Hello GeoJo" - it was 1/4 of the family I assumed to be muggles at the nearby Queen's Tamarind cache. He introduced himself as Scorpion, and left me to find the cache he'd just replaced. Didn't take long to find the container. Returned it to the same location, and covered it with an object mentioned in the hint. TFTC.

06-May-08
Second cache of the day. Co-ordinates led us up near the BBQ's, but putting the clue to use, Scorpion spied the cache while looking up from a lower level at Butterfly and Geo-Brats walking to a near by Kiosk. Scorpion recorded find and was returning cache back to its resting place when he noticed the suspicious female from the 'Queens Tamarin', now fellow cacher named Geo Jo walking towards the GZ. Scorpion couldn't help himself, and walked up to her and said, "Hello Geo Jo.... You've been spotted." Geo Jo knew she had been caught. Scorpion then left Geo Jo to find the cache as he, Butterfly and Geo-Brats enjoyed some lunch overlooking the sea, (and Geo Jo looking for the cache). As we were going back to the car Scorpion went to put a small log he found earlier over the cache to make it more like the clue given, but Geo Jo beat him to it. Scorpion still replaced it though, as the log he found had a little more weight in it.

Walked/run past this spot many times without realising how close a cache was! Found on a spectacular Townsville Sunday morning.

23-Apr-08
Found it ... Lovely beach plenty of mugglers ... TNLN

19-Apr-08
Great spot - love the Stand area - the Little Explorer's climbed all over the Dugong while we found and replaced the cache. Thanks.

15-Apr-08
I've attempted this twice before but always been thwarted by excessive muggle activity, none of that today and I just sat on the rocks, drank my coffee and gazed around.

13-Apr-08
A challenging cache with so many hides we just sat down to ponder the challenge and came up with the goods. TFTC

Had to get a cache while on a business trip from SA. Went for a jog from the hotel and found this one. Needed the clue as I was looking in the wrong spot. Nice area. Took TB Signed Log. Thanks Yogie

02-Feb-08
Nice spot. Had fish and chips after finding it. Plenty of muggles around. Left Fire Surfboard Geocoin (SB890H). We hope it gets moved to a surfing spot soon. GPS was affected by the trees.

13-Jan-08
Found this one with ease lots of muggle activity in the area. Didnt really hang around to long to look at much as it was raining a bit. TNLNSL TFTC

28-Dec-07
At long last after weeks even months of frustration and looking like a bit of a goose to all the muggles at 6:40 am I found the cache Clearly I was not taking into account the clues A big thanks to Bubblensqueak you shamed me into keep on keeping on

27-Dec-07
Found with Scamp on a rainy day after a trip over to Magnetic Island. Nice easy find and not many muggles around due to rain.

TNLN

Thanks,

Finaly got to have a proper look for this one, no muggles nearby today, and it helps when you can see.TNLNSL. Thanks yogie71.

08-Dec-07
With many hints and help I finally located this one, easy for some but I don't mind admitting it was torture for me.

07-Dec-07
Quickly found, don't know why people seem to have trouble finding this one, I hear one couple (bubblensqueak) have tried about half a dozen times with no joy, guess their not very good at this Geocaching thing hey!!!! LOL. TFTC.

DNF. My brother Steve and I had just flown in from work at Lawn Hill and had an overnight stop in Townsville before flying back to Perth. After Steve hired a car for his Cairns trip, we went cache hunting. Was a bit dark at 8:50pm when we got to GZ of this cache, but armed with a torch we had a look. By using the hints we found GZ easily, even though the co-ordinates were 26m out for me. We looked all around and down into the cracks, but couldn't find anything. This cache is most likely missing and needs a maintenance check please. Thanks anyway yogie71.

25-Oct-07
Located GZ weeks ago but couldn't look for the cache due to muggle activity.I've driven past about six times since and there is always people near by.Tonight the family went out for tea and came home via the strand, not a muggle in sight.I think I know where it is but, as this was unplanned I had no GPSr or torch or gloves so I was reluctant to put my hands where I couldn't see. Will try again another day.

16-Oct-07
Tried this one twice. Still no joy. Have I mentioned I hate ones in the rocks.Too many holes and too many muggles.
My GPS sent me to the same seat as Bundyrumandcoke. Sat there for a while and thought about it.I have given up on this one.
Thanks for the Hunt

16-Sep-07
Nice easy find on a conference trip to Townsville. TNLNSL. TFTC.

09-Sep-07
Well Guys I will have to admit defeat on this one for now as it's my 3rd trip down there but the muggle activaty is too high to get in and have a really good look around. Woops I've been sprung by a couple of muggles. Oh No! they are not muggles it's Hare & Tortise great to catch up with them had not seen them since Mt Marlow. I was happy to hear that they also have had trouble finding this one. I will be back when my trusty friend bubbles comes home, I will be bringing him down to help me sniff it out.

08-Sep-07
Due to way too many Muggles was unable to discreetly find this cache today and that was after 2 attempts as the second time I went back there was a muggle sitting right where I wanted to be. Better luck next time. Some you win some you loose. I'll be back.

04-Sep-07
Well, I couldn't find this one. I spent about 1/2 hr looking. What didnt help was the 2 council workers steam cleaning the pathway 10 metres or so from GZ. What also didnt help was the GPS had me sitting at a table about 25 metres from the dugongs tail. I looked extensively, as I figured the council workers were more interesting in their jobs, and not me. It would only be if I discovered something that I would have to take more care.

The area indicated by the clues is easily found, but it looks like some work may have been carried out recently, with reasonable fresh soil having spilled into cracks and crevices between the rocks.

I hope I am wrong, but this one may have been washed down further into the rocks by rainfall, or maybe buried by the soil. Either way, this brings up my second DNF for the trip.

Cheers
Bundy

02-Aug-07
Found by Mrs Oricas and her Muggle sister after I had to admit defeat. Part of the hint doesn't help because the moveable item has been moved. Mrs Oricas was about to give up and looked in one more spot and bingo. All is well with the cache. TFTCSL.

24-Jul-07
Hare&tortise did not find the treasure Have looked and looked but to no avail I am wondering if it has been moved or fallen down the gaps etc Difficult with all the people but I did spend about half an hour looking and moving rocks and stones no sight of wood although plenty of stuff around Will go back again with the hare as she is better at finding the caches than I am

22-Jul-07
Found the treasure got a bit cut up in the process Look like i have fallen through a blackberry bush. Might I suggest that walking off the track to the seadch area is causing damage to the small bushes and shrubs Some of the planted trees are being damaged. Our Grandson Adam helped us with this find

15-Jul-07
Found the spot and sat in the area for a while but far too much muggle activity on a weekend. Will have to come back another time. I looked into the area of the clues but couldn't find the final part of the clue. Too many muggles around to be sticking my hands in every crevice so I couldn't confirm if it was there or not.

22-Jun-07
With the help of the clue the cache was found with minimum fuss. A lovely location not too busy today with the wet weather and it not being a weekend. Thanks yogie71

14-Jun-07
Found it relatively easily at this time of day. Great spot to sit and watch the world go by. TFTC

09-Jun-07
Clever little hide found whilst pretending (or not-so-pretending) to admire the lovely ocean. It was dark and the water was completely calm and clear green and we absolutely loved the experience. Thanks for bringing us here to enjoy this lovely place. TNLNSL.

04-Jun-07
Found it no problems. A lovely area and a pleasure to walk along.

Up there on business and had the opportunity to introduce one of my work friends to Geocaching.

Thank you!

26-May-07
Great cache in a lovely part of town. Had to do on our 2nd go round as plenty of muggle activity. Found easily with the help of the hint.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Success after two attempts in busy area; found with KD6DUN who introduced me to geo-caching while in Australia on business trip.

20-May-07
Second time was the charm. The log had been moved, so we put it back. K1AX found it after much searching. TNLN SL TFTC

19-May-07
We searched for a while, but the area was full of people. no such luck today.

14-May-07
could not believe that no-one was on the beach.....except for a girl and her cat...yes i said cat...and she had it on a leash......
great view of Maggie island
thanks for bringing me here

04-May-07
Quickly found what we thought was ground zero along with the good place to sit and the log. The small log was over a huge crevice and there was no way a micro was going to be under it so we searched the huge crevice and other likely spots with no luck and gave up. We suspect the log had been moved.

24-Apr-07
My GPS (usually very accurate) took us to a table, tree and light post. The dugong was quite a few metres away. As a consequence, we missed this one.

26-Mar-07
Second find for this visit to Townsville.
Nice area for a walk.

15-Mar-07
Great place for a hide. Handy rock to sit on while looking for a cache also.

14-Mar-07
Unable to get close to GZ with so many muggles around. Groundsmen were camped next to the statue which made seacrhing impossible......maybe next time.

mm

05-Feb-07
Great spot for the family to have a BBQ and Geokids to play. Great spot, easy to get even with the amount of muggles that can be around at times.
Clues are spot on. TFTC SL

18-Jan-07
Yogie71 has done a good job hiding the cache here, in view of so many muggles. As it was raining while I was looking, muggles weren't a problem.

04-Jan-07
There were a lot of mugglers around when we came but then all of a sudden they all disappeared and then it was an easy find.

30-Dec-06
very hard considering we did it in the dark and with all the muggles around other than that it was very fun

30-Dec-06
Nice hiding spot. A bit tricky in the dark with all the muggles around, but eventually found. Clues were spot on.

26-Dec-06
while staying on the strand for christmas had to try and find this one, found fairly easily at 2.00pm

24-Dec-06
A bit of stealth required for this but we managed ok.
Signed log, thanks.

24-Dec-06

I had a ride on the dugong and helped Dad with the stealth mode.
thanks

20-Dec-06
Took us a few minutes to actually find this. When we saw that the lawn had been dug up recently, we worried that maybe the cache had been destroyed. However it was still there, just as the hint said. We enjoyed our visits to the esplanade. TFTC.

14-Dec-06
I nice easy cache as I wandered along the Strand. TNLNSL

Easy find, not too many muggles around, only one disinterested gardener who had been denutting the trees nearby. SL TFTC.

15-Nov-06
Found the cache at 1pm. Easy found it phew!!! heh... Love this area... so enjoyed walk around the path etc. Thank you for organise the cache and hunt.

06-Nov-06
Yet again a hard one to find with all the activity about. Thought better of trying to dig the cache out of its hiding place on Sunday so we opted for a night visit...success. TNLNSL Thanks for the cache yogie

05-Nov-06
Ok pretty sure we had GZ all worked out but then we started to think hmm with Muggles! Muggles! Muggles everywhere! How are we going to get to this one on a Sunday? We had sorted that probably out and had settled in when we heard voices complaining about Muggles being everywhere. Eek! Started to think the old mind was playing tricks but no we had just been busted by kaweir who was on a return trip to the cache to drop off their signature smile. This is the first time we have been caught in the act and although it was great tracking down another cache actually chatting with a fellow geocaching was certainly an added bonus. TNLNSL Thanks for the cache yogie and thanks for the chat kaweir.

29-Oct-06
Last for the day, very clever spot. Had to get the phone out and take some photos and pretend to talk on it so as not to attract attention while Liz signed the log.

Left a koala pin in keeping with our theme

TFTC very enjoyable trying not to get busted Big Grin

28-Oct-06
Yeh another FTF yep someone had moved the log but with a little bit of looking we located the cache signed the log and then put the log back over it how long it stays there is another thing there are little rocks over it so even if it does get moved again it should stay safe. even though there are so many muggles it is still easy to get.
thanks yogi

28-Oct-06
Damn you Kaweir...Lovely spot looking out towards maggie really beautiful at night, log still in place Very Happy easy find heaps of muggle activity to make it interesting tho...SL...TFTC
