Today, I was headed back from the south-east towards Adelaide. I finished my final cave diving just before lunch, and so made the rush towards Beachport for the GeoVenture2020 event that ended at 12:30 p.m., arriving with 5 min spare. I then joined the gang to find a few local Beachport caches, and hide a few more. It will be interesting to hear the chatter amongst the more adventurous geocaches. I then continued finding a few more around Beachport, before driving back via Nora Creina and Robe. My tyres were already half deflated, which allowed me to venture off to some of the 4WD geocaches scattered along that route. A few more geocaches found in Robe and Pink Flats, before I had exhausted all of the daylight, and drove the final leg straight.
As I did some final geocaching in Robe today, I realised that this DNF frown had disappeared off my map. I did some research to see it had been archived, which is a shame, as this cache is a 10/2006 oldie! Following my DNF here in late 2018, I had some information from other finders to where I should have been looking. It turns out that despite my significant time investment in looking for the cache with the right projection, the cache had just been hidden elsewhere (which I suspect is the cause to people's frustration with this one). So I returned tonight to look around a few, spots, and discovered the cache tucked away. The cache container and logbook were actually in good shape. Thanks The Morris for the cache placement anyway.
For those still wanting to find the cache, then once you do the initial projection based on the geocache's description, you then need to apply a correction of 19.6 m, at a bearing of 100.9°. That was where I ultimately found this cache.

After much puzzling with this so-called Multi (which it isn't) we searched for three days in different locations , even PAF but they could not remember where it was hidden as a previous finder states the particular monument is closer to 120m from the initial GZ and the cache is now a small screw-topped bottle that was found in bed some 5m away

I think I have the right spot, but reading logs of two caches and a vague multi you’d think the CO would clarify all this confusion, I did not have a paf to call on .
Took us a while walking around to find this one. But had a good adventure! Daughter found it, she was super excited TFTC
The memorial is at 120 metres but but cache comes up a bit short of that. Great cache .Thanks The Morris.
Today we left the Grampians area and were heading towards Robe. Luckily it was not as hot as yesterday. When the temperatures started to increase we were in the car with A/C and eating kilometers.
The first task was quite easy for an advanced geocacher, but the search turned out to be tricky. As others wrote before the final is somehow off. We were so close that we went three times to have a look. The second time with some corrected coordinates and the third time with a little push.
Thanks to The Morris for placing the cache.

Today we left the Grampians with a bit lower temperatures, heading south again towards the coast. On our way we visited a few boxes of different kinds, ending the day with the final of the multi, where we had the right idea, but needed an extra hint from another finder. Thanks to all co for placing and maintaining the boxes.
Found and logged together with Swerik, Mikaching and GPS-Wickie.

On a trip to the South east region with e.gregory1 to collect a few caches.
I knew I was on the right track in solving this multi to get to the final but after a search at what I thought was GZ, we came up short. A call to a PAF which confirmed we were about 20m from GZ don't know what we did wrong but a cache was found TFTC

I headed down to the south-east with gridge98 on a quick, two-day trip to find a few caches.
We had some rather mixed weather, with sunshine, rain, hail and wind at different stages, but most of the time it was good weather for caching.
We also had rather mixed results in terms of caches. There were some interesting hides in some terrific places; some along the beaches, some in the pine forests and others at various scenic or interesting locations. We managed a few lucky FTFs, but also a few disappointing DNFs. But all in all, it was a great trip.
We had both calculated final coordinates for this one with the same result. But after quite a search, broadening our search zone as we went, we couldn’t find it. We re-did our calculations and ended up with the same result. In the end it was only after a PAF that we were able to locate the cache - almost 20 metres ESE of where we had calculated!! Seems like something may have changed here since the cache was published back in 2006.
Thanks The Morris for the cache.

During a weekend down at the Mount for a scuba diving symposium event, this was a day of driving back and detouring past a few caches and sights. Managed to extend my trip home to Adelaide via Port MacDonnell, Millicent, Beachport, and then Robe (to ensure that LGA is covered for a challenge cache).
I thought I managed to solve this half multi-cache, half puzzle ok, and brought me to reasonable coordinates. Was looking all around the hidden areas like rocks and tree area, but just couldn't find anything, which was a shame. Not sure if there has been some recent changes in this small area, but suspect it hasn't changed from the finds a few months ago. A hint for this one would be nice. Bugger, oh well, I guess I will have to return.

A weekend run down to the south east, with Moneydork, Freddo, Hevwalker and Phoenix Flare. We opted for the coastal route, and much of the scenery was amazing. Of course, there were plenty of caches on the way as well. We managed to reach our destination just before the Maitland event, and it was a great experience.
Very much looking forward to spending more time down this way for a while yet!
This was find number 9 of 28 for the day for me. TFTC The Morris!

From our base in Millicent, in the very good company of fellow Victorians Suscoe, we enjoyed the scenery and the history lessons, of a day along the coast including Robe and Cape Jaffa.
We previously lived at the far end of Lin Po's journey. Wow 12 years on the geo-gameboard A FP winner.
Today we were able to gather our bearings and find this little cache, but only after a PAF call - we found we were somewhat off GZ!
**Feedback to CO:** Suggest a check might be in order as there appears to have been some significant cache creep resulting in two containers - one of which is a throwdown. Perhaps a clarification of the bearing/distance might be appropriate also?
Thanks 'The Morris' for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

What a brilliant day Suscoe had today out and about with our good friends Phetlern.
Sunshine, some light drizzle here and there, some fog, a gentle breeze, sheep, cows, horses, foxes, seabirds and loads of wonderful countryside including coastal scenery and pastoral lands greeted us as we travelled from Millicent to Cape Jaffa and back again.
We enjoyed our day out and we found lots of caches.
Thanks to The Morris for this cache, did what we needed to do and found the cache after a search.
A nice way to find out more about this series.

Found at 10:47 AM GAFF4.
Well this multi was full of surprises! We were on our way to Penola after staying the night at Kingston S.E. and saw that this cache was placed by our good friends 12 years ago. Read the cache description and then thought - what now? There were no attributes to guide us, or any hints to tell us what to do. In the end we decided to just wing it
As we arrived at GZ towing our van we found that we could not park right at GZ, so we kept on going until we found a nice parking area for a 15 metre rig. At that location p-pprass suddenly looks at the scene and goes - "Hey that's where the Afghan lady hid the medicine bottle"! So we basically had cut to the chase, but after about 10 minutes searching we came up with nothing. We then were advised to widen our search area and at a further distance of 12 metres we found the 2 cache containers [^] Gosh - is that some cache creep or what!
When replacing the containers we placed one at where we thought the original was placed - ie right where the "...two collapsed in a bed" and left the other at the further location, where everyone else has been finding it
Thanks The Morris.

After doing the Anzac Day service at Robe, Miss Jane and I decided to go for a drive and see some of sites of Robe.
This was one of the caches that we found.
I was in the right area but in the wrong spot and ended up PAF who pointed me the right direction. Found both caches and signed both logs.
I took the Geocoin to move on.

So happy today to get this nemesis cache off our list. A hint from a previous finder got us in the right track. At GZ we found 2 caches signed the log in the black box and left a TB that wants to go to Tassie. Thought about taking the other cache and hiding it elsewhere in Robe but then thought again so still 2 in situ. TFTC and story that has bugged us for 5 years!!
Was a bit worried after reading some logs, but got it in one. Nice one. TFTC
That took us a couple of times over a two year period to find with a little help

Well that made no sense... clearly we missed deciphering something... searched a number of places that fitted the projection, but no luck.
Having a look around Robe today, before heading further south .
This was a bit of a disaster for us initially, but managed to get back on track - or so we thought [:o)].
Our GZ had us over by the Butterbox, but searching around there was to no avail [B)], but we kept on looking, reading logs, then searched further afield . West is best !

With the rain around this morning we deployed the 7 seater and left Nora Creina for an afternoon in Robe. After lunch in the nearby Hotel Bistro, with Shadowstorm1 we left the others relaxing at the table still and headed across. A different multi but enjoyed the story and after reading through a few logs headed off with a general projection across into the right direction. I didn't fuss to much about the right coordinates so after we arrived in the area was a bit of searching but soon found the hiding spot helped with a hint of poking out container! Signed the first container but looked through the very good second one as well, will move on the two TBS that I removed and swapped the PT as well. Left well covered so hopefully the camo stays in place. Thanks for the cache!
Owl and Rat were on their way to the Mount today.
We cached in between light showers.
There was a lot of laughs had along the way.
Owl stumbled on the cache. TFTC

The Owl and the Rat ran away to Mount Gambier for the weekend. They took a very slow and winding road down, cleaning out towns they normally bypass. Owl had done the first part of this multi when she was down for a conference 2 years ago, so it was nice to be back on a damp and muggle-free day to make the final find. Unfortunately she'd mucked up entering the coordinates into her GPS, but could more or less remember where GZ was supposed to be. More or less didn't cut it, so Owl was heading back to the owlmobile to PaF when she spotted something cachey. Nice to know her instincts can be right sometimes!
What a nice cache & story...we knew what we were heading for after visiting robe on saturday. Thanks for the easter find
At last, 3rd time is the charm. After looking in the wrong spot due to reading the old directions on my gps, I checked on my phone app and read the changes in the updated info. We re-assessed our interpretation of the story and found the right area. The search was on again, I sat down to re-read previous posts and then it hit me the missing clue we needed, told hubbie and as he turned to look he said 'That looks a bit cachey' and yes it was... We struck gold (by my phone it was about 9m off). Thanks for the cache, it had us nearly giving it up for the 3rd time, so excited to have found it at last.
On our way home from Beachport stopped in Robe for coffee and to have another look for this elusive cache.
After not finding the cache last time I went back and read the description a few more times and all the previous logs. Even messaged a couple of people and was advised the coordinates I had worked out were not right.
So today with a bit more info gleaned we started searching in another possible location, but still nothing.
Then just as I was about to give up and leave it for another day I spotted something particularly 'cachey' and would you believe after a bit of poking the cache revealed itself.
Needless to say I was very happy that the cache had been found and signed. [^]
Still not sure how to get coordinates from the text though. [?]
Thanks for the cache and the fun The Morris.

Believed we had the correct GZ but with 4 of us searching quite thoroughly we couldn't find the cache...bummer.
An interesting story nonetheless, thanks The Morris.

The three of us were on a quick getaway down in Robe. This cache was quite close to our accommodation so we just had to do this one. GZ took a bit of searching as our coordinates had us 20 metres from GZ. Fortunately we managed to find it.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache The Morris.

Finally after years of searching the holy grail is in my hot little hand signed a clean log sheet TFTC and thanks for many years of frustration;)
Did not find. Possibly mugged or something. Plants over grown so hard to find. Will come back and have a second go but as always. Happy caching
Found with the geo-son on a bike tour around the sights of Robe whilst the girls went shopping. I had a very strong sense of deja vu at GZ, possibly because I had looked up the hide description many months ago or maybe we have done a similar cache in Victoria on a previous tour. Anyhow sent in the geo-son for the find. Many thanks The Morris
There were quite a few muggles around, but we both had a though look over 30mins and couldn't find it. Have put it on my watchlist and will return if found.
The holy grail of robe continues to elude us feel we are so close to finding it too! Maybe next year fourth time lucky:)
baby&Mrs gopher had a DNF on your cache Lin Po. The area around the flag pole has just been refurbished and the area behind the monument is just a heap of discarded rubbish with some unsavoury items in there.
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention.
I am temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

Can we have confirmation that this one is here for certain have looked in a few places but no luck a lot of other dnf's lately
Oh dear we really didnt know what we had got ourselves in for here. Think we took the shortcut that others have mentioned but even that went askew so backtracked and still didn't find a likely spot so a phone call to a previous finder had us back to almost step 1.
Sadly the cache is not where it was described to us and major electrical digging has occurred and paving also.
Seems likely that the cache has gone but not having found it before definitely needs checking.

We'll be over that way next weekend and we'll if both the container and its back up are indeed missing. It was relocated after the car park works and it has a few people keeping an eye it so hopefully it is safe.
What a great cache, loved the story in the cache notes and enjoyed all the historical plaques while doing the projection. We loved exploring Robe on our little holiday in the South T Lucky Pig L PG Path Tag SL Thanks for bringing us here!
Loved the story and unique way of getting to gz co-ords.
Our calcs put us slightly adrift but seeing the gz that matched the story we homed in on the resting place.
Left 2 TB's to continue their travels.

Sat on seat near GZ and thought it was near a place of remembrance. Walked over and found the cache. Took nothing. Wrote in log. Made a little more cover for the bottle of trinkets. TFTC.
Had absolutely no idea how to solve this one visited all the locations (memorial, customs house, drs) just did not get it. Had an interesting walk and rummage under lots of Di Osama bushes TFTH
This was our first multi-cache, took us a while to figure things out, we headed in what we thought was the right direction but no luck, maybe next time we visit Robe luck will be on our side.
Was confused as to what was required, tried a couple of things, no cache,so off to look around town and some lunch. Later saw somethiong that required further attention. Yes,, a new beginning & found the cache safe & sound, Phew!

Is the person keeping an eye on this one able to go check it out. Been back twice now and scoured the coordinates given and yet to no avail. Found a lovely hole that would have been perfect and right by the coordinates but nothing in it.
Hi LoomerLady, your email isn't validated so I can't email you. This is a multi so its its not at the posted coordinates. You need to work out how to get the coordinates to find the cache.
There is some works going on in the carpark so we shall wait and see the outcome of Lin's box. Thanks to yrrag who is keeping an eye on things for us.
Great puzzle, took a little while looking in the wrong spot. Read some previous posts and retraced clues to almost GZ then just before running out of time, spoted the obvious GZ for a quick find. Thanks for the history, loving my first visit to Robe. Took one of Lin Po charms, left a chinese coin to keep with the theme.
A little kid came by to ask us what we we were doing. We're here to see a china-man. He said, we haven't had them pass by here for many years. Ok, we said, we'll call by some another time. He said, ok and stayed there, waiting for us to leave. We will return, another day.
After lots of thought, finally found it. Just do exactly what the description says. The box was sleeping with Di Osma.
Luck was with me today, I think that I must have fluked it judging by the previous logs. Love the shade of pink that Di was wearing, very pretty. I can't even imagine how life must have been then.

Sadly had to give up search with Bad-Llama before frostbite set in. Will be back!!
Couldn't find it looked for 2 days had a few clues may have new bark over it not sure got very confusing
Found a spot where you needed a long arm reach but only held a beer bottle. Not sure if totally wrong or it is missing. Went back a couple of times.
This one took 2 attempts to find, but was really not that hard to find .... Just follow the clues! TFTC
After several attempts and having the feeling of being so close yet so far, a friend with a long arm found the goods. Thank-you for a wonderful story and challenging search.
We spent the weekend in Beachport with our 4WD club. We didn't take any of the drives up to Robe, so we stopped in to take a peek on our way home. This cache was the perfect excuse to explore the area. Thank you!
Interesting bit of history, worked out where GZ should have been but a family was having apicnic near the cache, today on a return visit as we travelled home the coast was clear and a quick find today, nicely hidden TFTC
Hmmm!!
I am sure I found the second waypoint, but need some more thinking time to work out what to do next.
A thorough search of the area yielded nothing, so I am missing something [:o)]
I'll be back

We finally found this one. It took two days, and some head scratching but we followed the clues and found the cache! The boys were very keen on the history, and so we followed Lin Po to Dunkeld and then Guildford. What fun!!
I like the place and the riddle. Dont have any idee what to do. I'll give up. TFTC as well.

My second attempt and helping Lin Po find this box of trinkets in Robe this time I had quick success in this far less exposed location.
No sign of Di this time, she seems to be missing.
Thanks for the hunt

Spent an hour looking and looked everywhere and just couldn't find it! Will try again next time we are here.
On leaving Port Fairy this morning we thought we would be in Kingston but instead we are in Robe so out with the computer and see how many caches there are in the area.
As soon as I saw the title I was intrigued as I have seen the same name up Castlemaine and Bendigo way and then checked the owner and it all became clear.
I have come to expect a great story and a twist with how to work out where the cache is located.
At first I thought about projecting a waypoint but reverted to the old fashioned method and was amazed to be about a meter off. Log signed and returned before a group arrived to check out the nearby tourist attraction.
Thanks again to the Morris for an interesting idea.
As soon as I saw the title I was intrigued as I have seen the same name up Castlemaine and Bendigo way and then checked the owner and it all became clear.

# 1837. Robmc and I were riding around Robe and collecting a few caches on the way. We rode to the monument and then after reading the story and working out the clue (loved it) headed to the general vicinity of GZ and had a fossick for the cache. Had just signed and returned when a big group of muggles arrived (in hindsight they were 2 groups of cachers who followed us all day). Enjoyed our tour of Robe. TFTC The Morris
Loved the challenge. 40mins to locate. Helpful lady in the custom house. 2nd one for the Schoff - Bothe clan. TFTC
Went in wrong direction at first then worked it out eventually. Checked a likely spot but it was that well hidden I dind't find it until other options where exhausted and a recheck was done. Took Buddha, left new green car. TFTC
This was a hunt and a half! We walked up and down, round and round, drove all over town. Just as we were about to give up, a moment of inspiration hit and with one last look we turned up a familiar box. Thanks for showing us some of the wonderful history that is around this area, and for an interesting type of multi. Thanks for the cache.
