It seems this cache has been buried under a couple of thousand tonne of river sand!
Disabling until it can be checked but it looks like this one may be destined for geo-heaven?

Whoops! I used the wrong cache number. Sorry - would love to visit the area someday.

What "If" said. Those driving over this bridge would find another way if they could see what is below.
On my first try I was muggled out by a dairy herd [:o]
So I wandered off to find the cache at bridge number 3 and returned half an hour later
Free of bovine interference, but still smelling very much of their passing, I walked across the bridge to GZ.
Either this cache has washed away or is buried in sand under the bridge
The riverbed is at bridge level for the first 3 or 4 spans from the northern end where the cache is apprently hidden
Bring a shovel, make that a backhoe if you want any chance of finding this one !!
Thanks for the river views.

A little detour of the main road and we soon arrived at GZ. Parked within 14 metres and headed in to make the find. Long grass was a bit of a worry, but all was good once at GZ.
Thanks Mountain Goat....thats number 2 in the series.

Time for a Mea Culpa: I found this cache in November '09 with TraineeDiplomat and Aboreham but neglected to log it online at the time.
While the details of the day are now mostly lost to memory, it was an great day with many excellent caches.

Again, apologies for the lateness of the log.

Got a bit muddy finding this one. Opened up the cache and the log was pretty wet and hard to write on. Didn't have anything to put in to replace it.
2nd for the day. And guess what I'm over the olympics references already... Yay go ozzie.
Rustic old bridge, was a little worried to drive my nice new car across it, or was that scared of getting cow poo on it. not sure....
Cache is a little wet and a little muddie, but not surprizing for the location.
Still enjoyed the find, well done Mnt G. Thanx

Started a loop from the south to go and attack the caches towards Bendethera. Nice easy drive to this point and a nice easy find with the hint, as the GPS wanted me a little bit away. TNLNSL, thanks Mountain Goat.
Found with Geostrom. I gather that the bridge gets a lot of traffic of the cattle variety. Lovely lush part of the area.
NB the cache was a lot damp. We tried to dry it out, even the pencil sharpener is rusting.

This one was a nice easy find and fortunately no cars passing over the bridge while we were under there. The log is a little damp though.

Cache was slighty damp but managed to sign the log nonetheless. Lucky no-one was going over the top when retrieving this one.
Last time I was here, the cache was under a couple of feet of water, but not today. Found quickly, then back to the farm to put my feet up, and watch someone else work - making silage today!

Found 1:39pm. I tried for this on the 8th on my way up to Coman's Mine. Bridge workers ruined that attempt for me. They had to move equipment and themselves to let me go past, but once on the other side, realised there was no way I could attempt it as they had all their bags and gear right near where the cache turned out to be.
So, I had a look at where the road went and made my way to Coman's Mine the back way. Some rough spots, and a few trees to drive over, but nothing major for the 4WD. I camped up on the hills overnight, and came back past here the next day. No bridge workers, cache found quickly and off we went again.
Like Tuross River Bridge #4, the inside of the cache is damp. I had to call in at Lonely Beach on the way back to Canberra to rescue my own cache for the same reason. I'm thinking that the seal in these so called waterproof Sistema containers is only efficient inside a refridgerator. The hot weather eventually deteriates the rubber.

Found safe and sound, while cache was full of water log was nice and dry.
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
The bridge had emerged (just) from the falling flood waters this morning, but not enough!
Won't post a DNF for the cache, as we couldn't even see the bridge for the flood water over the top of it! Imagine our surpise when arriving at my ex-flatmate's dairy farm for a visit that there was a cache almost in the bottom paddock! We went for a look, but already knew we wouldn't get to it this weekend, as we had just finished pulling the pumps out of harms way!
The rain stopped just long enough to cruise out and grab this series of caches. Found it without any trouble and I also jumped as the first car went over us.
Another nice easy find with the aid of a torch to start a sunny day. A car drove over as I was under the bridge - a rather startling experience! TNLN Thanks Mountain Goat.
SOFT dirt, passing overhead cars, found cache easily. TFTC in a nice secluded site.
one of the team maxi's geo kiddy's was to scared to go to the cache location dint take to long to find and was very slimy under there TNLN
The third, but not the last, of our Mountain Goat caches on this trip. He (presuming he is a he) seems to have a monopoly on caches down that way. Good on ya Mntn Goat and thanks. TNLN except for Kansas Geocoin.
No monopoly... It's just that there were bugger all caches on the South Coast way back when I started so I decided to hide a few, then a few more, then a few more...
Nice find, signed the new log and left GC Baelrati's Kansas Sunshine. Flood must have been well over the cache judging by the rubbish in the trees. Thanks Mtn Goat
Finally got to do these caches after trying to grab them when they were under water a few weeks ago. TNLNSL Thanks
Replaced the log sheet and added a zip-lock bag which will hopefully help keep it dry so this cache is good to go again! [^]
To see how far the water level had came up recently by the debris in the trees we were very surprised to see the cache was still in place. Could do with a new log sheet though. Thanks for another adventure Mountain Goat.
Great spot
Cache is dry now but a will require a new log sheet as you indicated Mountain Goat. Had a nice chat to a local farmer's wife who told us some of the local history.

Easy find and very nice spot. Log is still soggy (owner contacted) but worth the visit. TNLN.
This cache survived the flood waters and is still there however the log and other contents are very damp, unfortunately I didn't have anything to replace them with at the time so I will revisit again shortly to dry everything out but it is there and available! [^]
This cache (if it's still there) is under about 3 metres of flood water at the moment! I expect that it will take at least a couple of days for the water to subside before I can go out and check on it but in the meantime I'm making it unavailable... PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE FLOOD WATERS!
11:45am
Found this cache before the rains came down, the river at this time was bone dry.
Anyway TNSL left small spider (probably all washed away)

Found it, and introduced a no-longer-muggle to geocaching.
He is now called Budawang.
What happen if there is a flood? The cache would be going down the river.
cheers, tobey

TNLN Bit scary with cars rattling over the top of you especially when theres 3 in a row will be back down your way at xmas Thanks Mountain Goat well done
Great day bridge hopping. We had a lovely trip out here, we got to see a calf that had just been born. Got to love the country.
TNLN.
Took photo of coin as geo-kiddies wanted to see them but we don't have time to redistribute them so we left them in cache.
Thanks for the lovley drive
